  My husband's laptop computer does not in law, its starts to load in and windows then comes with windows has a problem and closes, then it will try to restart. I put in safe mode and check the problem and solution page and it comes up with Intel IMSM driver does not work correctly and tells me to go to the site of ASUSTek computer to download the latest version, I've tried and tried but makes no different. Tried to pass on the ASUS site but still no luck and it doesn't load in the ASUSTeK recovery disk that cam with it. Any ideas. Thank you. Alison

  Here's something you can do.

  1 visit the computer manufacturer and download the latest graphic drivers Intel.

  2 start the computer in safe mode as this will start with mode low resolution.

  Have you tried updating the driver? You should check the Toshiba page for an update. Before installing the latest version, you must delete the former first and reboot the laptop.

  You may also notice that the laptop heats up? I ask this question because maybe it's s overheating and must be cleaned with a jet of compressed air to blow off the dust.

  3 weeks ago, I bought a brand new Toshiba A500. I post here because I found no useful solution.
  Here are the specs:

  Processor: intel core i3 M330 2.13 GHz
  Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M (1024 MB)
  Hard drive: MJA2320BH G2 (320 GB, 5400 RPM, SATA-II)
  RAM: 2 X 2 GB DDR3 - 1066 DDR3 SDRAM (7-7-7-20 @ 533 MHz) (6-6-6-18 @ 457 MHz)
  Audio: Realtek ALC272 @ Intel Ibex Peak PCH
  System: Windows 7 64-bit, made at Toshiba

  The question is: random situations, the screen is in turn black for a few seconds, then the message is pop up saying "display driver stopped responding and has recovered - display driver NVIDIA Kernel Mode Driver, Version 187.98 stopped responding and has successfully recovered" It happens several times a day.

  Display driver sometimes can not be recovered and the system hangs and must be reset. Problem occur on the first day after five minutes of use (when it was not install anything without OS).

  Problem always occurs during normal operation with applications (MS office, firefox, etc.). It's completely random - there are no two the same situations - so when I look at youtube on full screen hd movies it crashes several times, but when I restart the OS and to play the same movie, it works properly.

  Causes of demand, this problem is called TDR (timeout detection and recovery).

  Since I tried following solutions:
  -Updated BIOS.

  -Updated adobe (even Java);

  -Disable audio (realtek card);

  None of them works.

  The problem occurs during the games (i.ex. The Witcher). I can play 8 hours and nothing weird happens.
  I noticed that this problem occurs also during opening some applications or enter new tasks (when demand for energy is growing rapidly).

  I'm asking this is a driver problem or should I return the laptop to the service.
  I suspect that the problem may be large difference of voltage on the graphics card but I can not verified that.

  If anyone has experience this problem, I'd appreciate any help.

  I bought a Sony Vaio SVF15319SNB and it asked me to upgrade to 8.1 Windows for free.

  When I was going through the Event Viewer logs, I found that there are two or three events (warnings) that are generated by the system which seems scary as ideally a new machine should not generate too many warnings.

  When playing online, I found that it is a typical problem with Photoshop CS6 in machines having 2 graphics cards (1 built-in to the motherboard, 1 adapter dedicated graphics - nvidia in my case). The default configuration for machines with double adapter is to automatically select the best card for an application.

  When Photoshop CS6 is trying to load, it tries to select the graphics card tailored to this effect by running sniffer_gpu.exe. It is this module crahses and in turn is also crushing Intel graphics driver. Due to this accident, Photoshop freezes when opening any file (regardless of the size of the file or its format).

  Solution that has been open you view the settings of the adapter and the whole Photoshop CS6 and sniffer_gpu.exe for photoshop to use a graphic adapter special at all times - I have updated my nvidia card. That isn't it - crahses more or freezes and all is well!
