Interactive images that link to Images

Hi all

My experience so far is the Microsoft HTML Help, but I just started a new project where I think the best solution for what is necessary will WebHelp. I did a bit of a departure, but I encountered the following problem when you try to do something I've done MS HTML Help several times:

I have a jpg image of a light bulb that I add a hyperlink to in order to link to an another jpg image as a screenshot of what I refer to. In this way, the reader can choose if they wish to see the screenshot or not, and the screen is not dominated by the large images that I sometimes need to display. The way I do it is to create a hyperlink to a file and select the appropriate jpg image to link to. It works perfectly in MS HTML Help and WebHelp it seems to do nothing (the browser doesn't even say "Cannot display the Page"). The status bar of the browser displays "javascript:void (0)" or something similar.

There are additional restrictions on the types of files I can for a hyperlink in WebHelp? I had a glance using RH, and it suggests that the only files no matter what help file can link to pdf, doc or xls is, so I'm a bit confused.

Thanks in advance,
darkagn

PS I use 6 HR. See you soon!

Hello darkagn-

I don't do that often - no problem. I insert the image link (I use the image of an 'I' instead of a light bulb) and then set the action drop-down DHTML text and insert the image target in the drop-down text box. Click to see the image, click again to hide - works fine.

Kind regards
GEWB

    Dear all,

    I use Dreamweaver CC 2015.3 and try to use the Image Map option. I'm not using it in Liveveiw so there must be another problem.

    I have inserted a picture and give MapId image2. After that, I tried to drag and drop all three circle, polygon, and rectangle. Nothing happened.

    No map tag is packed. Nothing happens. What is the reason?

    Thank you

    As much I know "MapId" is not an attribute of html for creating / using the clickable images.

    An image map using an attribute called 'well' in the tag which must match the attribute "name" of the tag. DW will write the attribute well, and tags automatically when you draw a shape, there is no need to add your own before drawing a card form (maybe it's and the use of an invalid attribute is confusing the program?). If you want to change the name of , make you in the properties of the window after you have created a form and DW will automatically update the necessary elements.

    To use the image map tools...

    1. place an image into your page (the tag should be used, image maps do not work on css-background images)
    2 single-left-click on the image in Design view to select it (a black box appears). If you see a blue border and a tab, when you click the image, you again Live View Editor and click on the triangle next to the Code, Split and buttons direct to change design

    3 left - click the shape you want in the Properties window to select the tool

    4. go to the image, click and drag (to a circle or square) or click on several points (for the polygon tool) to create your interactive image tag
    5. change the name of the card on the card Properties window

  • Interactive images on Illustrator?

    Illustrator seems to claim that it can export interactive images, but I've failed several times using CS5... I was wondering if there is a method in the program that I am simply absent.

    Before I get started, you should know that I'm not looking for answers like 'use Dreamweaver' or "Flash would do much better." I'm dealing with a very complex map that would be incredibly painful draw one-at-a-time in DW.  I already did this project in Flash, but I am very dissatisfied with the results: images vector Flash can't handle the complexity of curves, I got and they look horrible, and besides, I want to try some goodness of jQuery with the maphilight plugin & the sweet yumminess of low bandwidth of the PNG format.

    Then I faced at 34 different paths closed (in a single layer.) But whenever I exit by "save for Web & devices...". "I get nothing - well, I get four polygons that are pushed in the lower right of the image. I can see them when I open the file in DW. I tried JPEG and PNG output, but nowhere do the imagemap options more than what are in Control Panel.

    Anyone know what I'm missing? Or is that what I suspect: that Illustrator is completely useless for this task (and once again Adobe let me hold my balls just at the moment where I need them most?) Dear, I hope it's not the latter.

    OK, I got the image maps are there, they are at the point of original coordinates of scale in save for web is the wrong way on the scale of ths the file even if you copy the file, and then the scale and then create image maps.

    The image plane is written * as soon as you select the object and designate it as a rectangle or polygon whose contact information.

    I don't know why we put this across to save for web if you aying on a web page or site?

  • See all THE files that links to a file?

    I wonder if it is possible to choose a file (say "test_photo.jpg" image) and ALL the other files that the image is linked to see. If ideally I would choose "test_photo.jpg" and somewhere, he would show me that "test_photo.jpg" is used as a link 'brochure_layout.indd', 'business_card.ai' and 'postcard.indd'.

    This could be in Adobe Bridge, in the meta data in another program, anything really. I just want to know if this information is stored somewhere on the computer?

    I know that the bridge can select an InDesign file & tell you what are the links; but it's not the information I'm looking for; again, it is more for the image files to see ALL the different files that link to him.

    Hope someone has an idea if it exists.

    Thank you!

  • How to create an interactive cursor that returns a numeric value.

    Hello world

    I am trying to create an interactive slider that the user can drag an icon from left to right, in order to select a numerical value. This numeric value will be output to a dynamic text box to capture the data. Please see the example at the link below...

    http://www.carbontrust.co.UK/solutions/CarbonFootprinting/carbonfootprintindicator.htm

    I welcome suggestions of action script to create a slider like that.

    Thanks for your help

    Just as an example, open a new file and add a movieclip on the stage... give it an instance name of "handle" and place it at x = 0, y = 100.  Then place this code in a layer of actons (code red, it's how the drag limits are set)

    handle.addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, mouseDown)

    function mouseDown(event:MouseEvent):void {}
    handle.startDrag (false, new Rectangle (0, handle.y, 200, 0));
    }
    handle.addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, mouseReleased);

    function mouseReleased(event:MouseEvent):void {}
    handle.stopDrag ();
    }

    ... I guess I have just put a box click on the object and define if for "open URL or file" and select your SWF file. Be sure to select if you want the SWF file to replace the window active or open a new window.
    I hope this helps.
  • path of the image file that links do not correctly in the executable file

    I have a jpeg file in a project that I'm building which is not loading when run as an executable file.  The executable seems to be looking in the same directory that the image file was originally instead of the support folder where the image is deployed.  On another machine, the exe will look for the image in the directory, that were found on my machine.  When I drag the image file of the project on the block diagram Explorer, it creates a constant path of file indicates where the file is located on my machine.  This does not seem to update when I build the exe.  The image file is included in the source files.  Any help is appreciated!

    A constant path is... Yes indeed constant! It's not automatically change whenever someone might move the file too, whatever his imagination made her do. He does not maintain a link to the actual file it could use later to detect that the file has been moved elsewhere. In fact Windows has quite such a mechanism.

    So if you want to access an external file to your executable application to first do a correct path when running. My approach is to put in a directory from a VI file that I put in my application. Then in this VI use the way of getting current VI, band name the VI of it and add the location relative to the other file to it.

    If you do something like this:

    The project directory

    Directory of the utility

    My Location.vi

    Data directory

    MyResource.jpg

    in system development, then:

    The application directory

    MyApplication.exe

    Data directory

    MyResource.jpg

    in the application of the construction.

    With this provision, it doesn't matter even if you use the old format of executable LabVIEW 8.x or the new default format since LabVIEW 2009.

    My Location.vi is just a VI that takes a relative path in the entry (in this case "... / directory/MyResource.jpg data" called the "Current path to VI" node, use 'Band path' to remove the name of VI, then build to add this entry path, and this is!.)

  • Image map that links to the framework

    For my site, I want to use the Image mapping to open new pages in the frame below the menu (as can be seen on the link below), however the site opens in a new window, even if I said dreamweaver that the target is box below (called "Content"). Anyone know why it does not work?

    http://portfolio.IO.utwente.nl/student/graatb/

    You are aware of all the reasons would never use images, right?

    Since DW did not load frames entirely for several versions, you need to add manually a NAME attribute for your destination in the frameset frame - then would make you the attribute target link to this NAME, you added, for example,.

    In your case, you would change-

    on this subject.

    That should do it.

  • Captivate 8.0 widget interaction images are distorted

    All the images get distorted when you add to any widgets interact (even when I download them in 100 X 150 in size).

    (BTW: I am currently using the subscription version.)

    Just connect it as a bug, I know the heart size and with your help has discovered that in the latest version of the indication of learning interactions does not (yet): both need an image which is a square. It doesn't have to be exactly 150 x 150, but must have a width/height of 1/1 report.

    I know that in the first version of these interactions, a similar faulty indication appeared for the interaction of the chronology, has been corrected in an update. Now, it is wrong in tabs and chronology. Only the interaction of the accordion needs a 1.5/1 in width/height. Sorry about that, I'm just a user...

    This technique is exactly the answer I was looking for. I like the way you have the shadow that makes images pop off the page. I can't believe you put so much effort in response to my question... Thank you very much! I appreciate really the answers people gave me!

  • buttons that links do not label in the framework

    Hello
    I have buttons in a video called navigation which is then put in scene 1. In scene 1 I frames with labels and I want the buttons to link to the scene as a single, label whatever. Seems the value OK but when I click on the link it seems to just reload the film of navigation instead of going to the frame in stage 1. I can't understand what I'm doing wrong.
    Thanks for any help. Furthermore, I use Flash 8 Professional
    (about 1 meg) Here is a link to the flash file

    OK, got it.
    Just as before, go play at the stop to add _root and remove the stage name

    example:

    on (release) {}
    _root.gotoAndStop ("tower");
    }

    see the main timeline, _root continuation of action and target.
    You might as well use _parent instead of _root, he pulled UP
    Bungalow on the clip.

    Don't use the stage names. The scenes are just empty frames, giving an end to one
    and the beginning of another delay. They are not included in the final SWF files,
    Think of it more as convenience of creation. That's why you can't target the
    with actions. Now, you can get away sometimes, but on complex projects usually
    do not in order to better learn to not use it.
    I guess that's it, change the actions to the foregoing and you good to go.

  • How to make an interactive form that works as well in Iphone and Ipad?

    I made an interactive model.

    When I open it on my Iphone model has the text but that should be the text in the fields are empty.

    I tried with-> file-> save as something else-> Reader extended PDF-> activate more tools

    (Sorry for the translation)

    But it does not... any ideas?

    / Link

    On iOS default PDF Viewer is not any support for forms. Adobe Reader has OK press and Expert PDF has better support, especially for JavaScript.

  • Make an interactive PDF that contains all the elements of active

    Take a simple test for an example.

    I create a menu page with a button with an interactive button says open another pdf with this button.

    Call the MAIN menu page. PDF

    and the page he calls EXTERNAL. PDF

    Locally on Acrobat DC everything works as expected

    but when I save the MASTER.pdf to external such as location

    a network drive and click on the button on the MASTER page, nothing happens.

    This suggests a number of things

    (a) all external media must be provided when they provide a client with the PDF

    (b) acrobat DC does not bind external media in the presentation.

    Is there a "pack and go" function that will load all assets in the MASTER.pdf

    while I can email a single file and not a myriad of required external files to, click on the button?

    You are right - all external files must be provided when fed the "master" PDF
    You're right – Acrobat DC (no more than any previous version) 'bind' external files to the PDF 'master '.
    There is a term "pack and go".
    In Acrobat help attach files to the "master" PDF document
    Using Acrobat Pro to create a PDF Portfolio.
    To provide links to files in a Briefcase do you manually in the portfolio. Use the action "page mode."

    When a large collection of PDF documents that are inter and intra active must be deployed with or without an index catalogue (to support the advanced research that would include Boolean) build under a common folder to 'high level '.
    Transfer the record of highest level and all the content of the SD card, USB stick, CD, DVD, external HARD drive, network share, etc. for the deployment share.
    A fall in the Web space will work as well (with the exception of the index catalogue).

    Be well...

  • Report interactive column EMail Link

    Hello everyone, which seems like it should be easy, but I have yet to understand. What I want to do is to have an interactive report where a column is an e-mail address which is a mailto link, so that if clicked it will open a customer to e-mail with the e-mail address in the To: field.

    Any suggestions on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Bob

    Assuming COLUMN_NAME is the column that contains the e-mail address, follow these steps:
    -Set the column to the display text.
    Set the column binding properties:
    -Enter a link text, for example, #COLUMN_NAME #.
    -The target value = URL
    -URL = mailto:#COLUMN_NAME#
