Interactive PDF page view options.

Hello world.

I'm confused with the page display options when you create an interactive PDF document to InDesign CS6.

My 16-page PDF brochure was intended to be seen with two pages. As I downloaded it to a site that converts into a document, the document flip page that has in place two pages inserted into every single page - it seems to be to see each two-page spread on a single page.

I tried a tutorial on page display options in InDesign and Acrobat during creation of PDF documents but have not found anything useful.

What I did wrong and how get my PDF to view the pages properly? Is there a good tutorial or help page you can recommend which would cover the page display choices in these two applications?

Is it possible to change document properties for my file already created PDF change the way pages are displayed or do I need to export the document again InDesign to fix this?

Thank you in advance,

Joe.

You probably export your document as spreads instead of pages. Fortunately, you can change this in CS6 (in CS5 you couldn t)...

Can´t you change very easily in Acrobat, change the display won´t settings help probably because you already 2 InDesign pages on each PDF page. Even if you choose to display single pages in Acrobat, you can see 2 pages at a time. I suggest that you re - export and change the setting marked with a red triangle (on the picture)

If you think it is really difficult to re-export from InDesign, you can download handy little script for acrobat to:

http://www.KHK.NET/WordPress/2009/03/30/splitting-PDF-pages/

If the first page of your document is a single page, check the comments. I send a question about the rest of the first blank page, you can download a special version of this script which do... basic find a link right after my comment...

I must warn you hard, pages just duplicate script and crop odd and even pages differently (you can also do it by yourself but it s quite tedious). Acrobat is notorius for its culture method. Any content of the page will not be destroyed, and most of (like flipping of the converters page) PDF processing systems will ignore the cropping and show all distributed anyway... so if it s possible to re-export, I would...

    Reading and full screen, I have the url and the navigation links that work very well.

    But when I 'touch' the screen out of one of these live areas with my cursor, the page goes to the next.

    I could avoid this but I'm worried about my customers who will use it on a SMART board.

    I foresee it as a problem when displaying on a SMART board (I don't have access to one) where the teacher is pointing to something on the page, and he lurched suddenly to another, or when you use the SMART display writing tool, it can jump.

    Thanks for your thoughts.

    Nothing you can do in the PDF itself, but on the dialog box Preferences for Acrobat/Reader, full-screen you need to disable «left click to go forward one page...» "option.

  • Interactive pdf page transitions

    I created an interactive pdf. Original file created by InDesignCS6. It has buttons, go to the page, page transitions, links to Web sites. Everything works perfectly as pdf full screen. But on the Web site, I lose the page transitions (which are simple wipes from left to right)

    I saw a few interactive newsletters that do everything. No idea how they are produced. These companies only ask for a static pdf to work from, so we can assume that they don't need to start from InDesign. They must be to improve the PDF with links etc, but with what software?

  • ID CS5.5 export interactive PDF as single pages, no spreads

    I read the instructions wrong? I have a 116 page book. When I export to PDF for printing, it exports correctly, showing a page at a time. When I export to interactive PDF, pages come out as single large pages, and I find myself with a book of 58 pages in landscape format. I tried all the settings. Yes, I chose 'single page' in the area of the layout (if I select 'Two up', I find myself with 4 pages on the screen).

    Advice? I don't know I'm missing something obvious. Thank you.

    What attracts almost everyone by surprise. It's actually by design, but judging by the posts here not necessarily the best design decision. There are two ways to address this via script. Active / disables the export function extends offshore for interactive PDF export (see Interactive PDF from InDesign CS5 always a extends on |) InDesignSecrets).

    Another method is to divide the "spreads" before exporting it ("see InDesignSecrets" Blog Archive"Breaking Pages Apart to bleed off the coast a thorn and http://www.printisrael.com/indesign/scripts/freeware/SeparatePages.jsx).

    Make sure you read all the comments in the two articles. If you are unsure how to install a script, see How to install scripts in InDesign | InDesignSecrets

  • buttons change layers when creating interactive PDF HELP!

    I have a lot of documents with images that need to be enlarged, so for each image (a few pages with a single image, others with 4 or 5) I create the image as a button.  In a new layer called overlay, I create a greybox on the page and the bigger picture and more than (the two buttons and hidden initially).

    If the layers order goes like this:

    Big picture (top)

    GreyBox

    small image.

    Preview interactive ePub in InDesign is on-site.  The button to reveal and hide the images correctly and are in the correct order.

    HOWEVER, when I generate an interactive PDF, pages look fine until I click on a button, but once I click on a picture, I get:

    big picture is cut UNDER the greybox.

    Small image is above the large image.

    I published the document online and when displayed in a browser, all the problems disappear (I remember that it uses the same engine as the preview interactive ePub) but when I download the on-line document, the errors come back.

    I feel really it is a bug in InDesign (Adobe listening?) and if anyone has had similar problems, I'd like to hear about them.

    Any help gratefully received.

    Thank you

    Try the object > interactive > set tab order

  • How to disable page scrolling when you create an interactive PDF using InDesign?

    I'm trying to create a PDF portfolio interactive with links to the homepage of the gallery and projects pages, etc, but it seems unnecessary, if I can't stop the PDF pages to scroll? Can anyone help?

    I have InDesign CS5.5 and Adobe Acrobat Pro.

    Thank you

    Elizabeth

    scroll through pages

    There is nothing you can do to prevent a viewer to navigate on their own through a PDF file. One method would be to open the PDF file in mode full screen, this hides the navigation tab. But a viewer can use arrows to go from page to page, ignoring the links in the PDF file. And the viewer can hit the ESC key to return to the normal display. Another option would be to use a swf export, pdf indstead, but seriously depends on how you plan to distribute this portfolio.

  • Why the video full page are resized in my interactive pdf document?

    Hi all

    I have an interactive pdf with a video that does not appear in the correct size, its 65% of the original.

    This video is created with After Effects, using a composition of 1024 * 768 px.

    The Indesign document, the pdf is created has the same dimensions.

    If the video is meant to cover the pdf together, for the view page fullscreen.

    However, it does appear that 65%, with a black edge around it...

    Do I did wrong?

    Best, Erik

    OK, so the video is to maintain a size fixed when you zoom in and out of the page. You use my widget VideoPlayerX in InDesign or standard? VPX will play fixed size by default.

  • I don't want them to go through all my pages... interactive pdf

    I want to create an interactive pdf, which is more "controllable" by clicking on the pdf file of some buttons. I want to say I don't want the Viewer to get through all my pages by clicking on the arrows on the keyboard (etc.) To clarify, I have a cover page which is like a menu, where the viewer must decide each time about what he wants to see. Thus the viewer click on the right button and the spectacle of the page to the top. Then, they return to the home page by clicking on the button «back to front page» Now, the user can select another topic he wants to see and so on... I don't want the user to go through all my pages by clicking or pressing the simple arrow keys. I want to interact with my pdf, how I did it. Something like this is possible in Indesign? I searched a lot but has not been able to find the information one is necessary. I hope that you guys understand my problem and that someone knows the solution.

    Thanks in advance!

    Tacksemucke

    The other problem is that you're assuming that everyone will work with Adobe Reader - you cannot dictate what people PDF reader will use, like foxit reader, reader of chrome, etc. Mac preview.

    Essentially, you're pissing in the wind.

  • Why my interactive pdf file shows the animation between pages only in full screen

    Is it possible to display the animation between two (or more) pages in pdf format when you are not using full screen.

    I made a file in indesign CC and exported (fade effect) interactive PDF form.

    But the animation is shown in the view full screen, can I change this?

    Hope to hear from you soon

    Jachim,

    What you call animation between pages is called the Page Transitions in English. (Animation in the Animation Panel does not in PDF, of course.)

    However, in the PDF files, it can only be displayed using the full screen. It's just the way it was designed. There is no way to change this, I'm afraid.

  • PDF interactive button to view images

    Hello

    So I try to put in place the buttons in an interactive PDF. All I want to do is when you click on the button 1, you can see the State 1. When you click on the button 2, you will see State 2 and State 1 will disappear. I tried to make each State on a different page with a master page for the buttons, but you cannot say the buttons to go to the page target in the interactive PDF. Can someone help me?

    You can place your alternative content in InDesign layers, export to interactive PDF file (including layers), then change the buttons in Acrobat to show/hide layers. Here is a Dropbox link to an interactive PDF sample which includes step by step instructions page 2:

  • Specific PDF page without the dialog box options import

    Hello

    I do the multipage PDF to import programmatically (without the dialog box options).

    Import a PDF page specific to a graphic image of the first step for the solution.

    I use the SDKLayoutHelper::PlaceFileInFrame function but I can't select a specified (for example, page 2) page programmatically

    I figured out by SnpPlaceFile.cpp

    ....
    // The solution
      InterfacePtr cmdSetPDFPlacePrefs(CmdUtils::CreateCommand(kSetPDFPlacePrefsCmdBoss));
      InterfacePtr pdfPlacePrefData (cmdSetPDFPlacePrefs, IID_IPDFPLACEPREFS);
      pdfPlacePrefData->SetTransparentBackground(kTrue);
      pdfPlacePrefData->SetPage(2);
      result = CmdUtils::ProcessCommand(cmdSetPDFPlacePrefs);
    //

      UIDRef frameRef = layoutHelper.PlaceFileInFrame(fileChooser.GetIDFile(),
      parentUIDRef,

      fileChooser.GetRetainFormat(),
      fileChooser.GetConvertQuotes(),
      fileChooser.GetApplyCJKGrid());

  • 700-page InDesign file crashing when you try to export to interactive PDF

    Hello

    I am trying to generate a 700 page interactive PDF to InDesign with external links, internal links, bookmarks, fields, etc. It is essentially the most ambitious project I have ever taken. I run an iMac 27 "which is only 2 months, execution of Yosemite with 32 GB of RAM and an SSD. Someone at - it tips to help with this massive thing to export and not to crash the software? I tried most everything that I can think of to try and nothing seems to work. Help!

    Two invites on 1 page in Indesign that when exporting to adobe reader in pdf format, I can simply add new names that populate both copies and then be printable. Any help out there is how to make an invitation in Indesign, but now how to make 2 copies on a single page that someone else ie the customer can add their own names. So each field name must complete on both guest. Sounds simple, but is not really there to help. I think he called an interactive pdf. Thanks in advance.

    AutoFill is the easiest part, he lies. If both fields have the same name, they will have the same content: type in one and it appears in the other.

  • Create an interactive PDF on 35 pages

    Hi displays the first time here, so apologies in advance if I break all the rules.

    So I'm having a strange problem that I hope someone can help with.

    I created an interactive PDF on InDesign CS6. The document has a back, a front and a button of content on each page as a TOC marked with a bookmark. When I go to export, said the document and open it in Acrobat. the form field guide bar (attached) seems that there is no form field in the document. The strange thing is that it appears that if the document is 35 pages or more. Can someone help so that this bar does not appear on the pdf doc?

    In this case does not rely on the number of pages, rather than the number of interactive elements in the PDF file.

    You can prevent Acrobat/Reader (regardless of the number of interactive elements) to display the toolbar of form by activating certain restrictions document as not allowing content do not copy or page extraction.

  • changed your interactive pdf options?

    Hello indesigners.

    I noticed now on cs5 that interactive pdf options have changed, I remember that I had the option on the fly on the menu to hide the button display button in pdf format

    and other various options, if it is printable etc etc. But now, the only option available is the print button, and I guess I can type a description in the dialog box.

    previous versions had a much richer options.

    Thank you.

    I guess you are referring to changes in CS4.

    I do not have the interactive stuff in my work, but with CS5 PDF export has been divided into two flavors, interactive or Print, and I think that is the difference you see. Buttons don't work not actually in PDF (Print) exported from CS5, but you have the option of having them visible.
