Interference/Dell XPS 13 display screen flicker problem

Hello

I bought my laptop Dell XPS 13 (L321X) in December of 2012.  Starting in mid-2013, I began to experience my screen suddenly blur. I enclose a picture of what's going on. I don't think nothing of it at first, and honestly it would happen maybe once a month.  I thought that it was maybe that I had the laptop on my lap and it was be overheated.  In any case, I don't think a lot of it

Since the beginning of this year, I saw that it started doing it more frequently.  Last month, it happened more frequently, to the point that it disrupts my use of the laptop.  I LOVE the laptop, except for this issue.  Can someone please help me understand what seems to be the problem with the display problem?

I haven't tried the connection to the laptop to an external monitor to see if the problem is with my video player or a screen.  It's just hard to tie it to an external monitor at the time where the problem starts, because the interference goes away in 20-30 seconds.

Hi all, I posted this message a few months ago.  I never received any positive suggestions or solving the problem, so I did what I do naturally when I'm out of options.  I reformatted my entire hard drive and re-installed windows and all the drivers from scratch.

Pouf!  Problem gone!  Didn't happen for several months.  I guess that there is a bug in the version of the BIOS or display drivers.  I recommend others try this - it worked for me and I am in love with the XPS.

Good luck!

    Hello

Another problem with my new Dell XPS 13 (model 9333) - for any reason, during loading or no, changes in brightness screen without saying me things to do (she just made right now by writing this sentence!).

Any ideas on why this is happening? It's kinda like a light automatic on a smartphone but much more random thing! It really starts to wreck really my head.

Any help appreciated no matter how silly it sounds!

I found a setting called "enable adaptive brightness" which seems to turn off this nonsense.  On Win8.1, it is:

Power options > change Plan settings > change advanced power settings > display > enable adaptive brightness

  • Dell XPS 17 702 X flicker of the screen

I read everything I could the varrious formums and installed the drivers as much as I could, Nvida dell old and new, ancient and new, video intel old and new.  Nothing prevents the screen flickering on the battery power.

I had the screen replaced by a dell technician, continues to blink.  The entire computer replaced and it still flashes!

Someone at - it suggestions?  Seems that the pilots have no effect.  The only thing that works is to plug in the power adapter.  On battery, it sparkles.  I also have Nvidia to be all the time as well as the intel integrated video card without change. Technicians dell always change the power setting.  They seem obsessed with setting the screen for maximum performance on the intel integrated and the nvidea with no effect.

Dell wants to send a new motherboard and screen.  I'm getting sick this.  The screen cannot be bad because it works on the current!  When you demand a refund?

I like to keep it if it gets fixed I like it.

I had the same problem of flickering on battery with my Dell XPS 702 X. After installing a new copy of Windows 7 on a new SDS drive with AG Full-HD 1080 p screen, I've updated all my drivers and use the bios A06.  That's when I saw the same problem you are having.  Since I don't see it on the old version, I searched the difference. My solution was to do a right click on the desktop and go to graphic properties and select the Advanced Mode. Click on the power tab, and then select Maximum Performance for both sector and battery.     Given that you have tried this and it did not fix the problem, you can have a bad screen.

  • Terrible resolution on Dell XPS 13 model 2015 QHD problems

With really bad resolution problems on Dell XPS 13.

I use it for the University, and I'm doing a computer course and therefore the command line is an important feature. The text is completely zoomed out, I've went into properties and maximized the police nothing helps. Here's what it looks like, the image cannot do justice - I really have to squint to read it.

Most of the other programs are like that too. Unity 3D looks really blurry, Sublime text 2 has the same appearance. Text looks similar to it has been enlarged on a few times so it adapts to the resolution and so you can almost see the individual pixels on the text.

    Here is another program: Malwarebytes

It kinda feels a joke because the laptop is worth more than a thousand books.

You may also need to change the resolution on your graphics card because NVIDIA has also been causing me problems.

Updated, also check options in your INTEL graphics driver display resolution, make sure they match, don't no conflic t with the parameters of resolution on your Dell laptop. THEN, you might have to restart your laptop to see the changes on your screen. Lower resolution will make a lot of new/updated apps updated and programs are all looking mean, BUT your older programs designed for windowx 7-8, and less than 4 k resolution, must appear normal.

  • Dell XPS 15 "display driver igfx stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

    Hello

About 3 - 4 times a day while working, my computer hangs for 1 - 2 seconds and I get a message saying my display driver crashed and has fully recovered. In the event log, I see a warning saying:

"Display driver igfx stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

I have a Dell XPS 15 10 Windows running with the latest updates. It has a Intel (r) HD 4600 Graphics and an NVIDIA GeForce GT 750 M graphics card. I also use a Dell D3100 3 USB docking station, however I notice the issue with and without this used.

I tried to install the latest drivers for the NVIDIA card. I am currently using "10.18.13.5906".

Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

  • Dell XPS 600 read/write DVD problem

My system is a Dell XPS 600 and has a DVD/ROM drive & a DVD RW. The drive works fine, but the DVD RW will not read/write or recognize a disc is inserted. The original drive failed when running normally with WIN XP. I replaced the drive (w/Lite-on SOHW 1633 s), responsible for all the latest drivers, flashed the firmware of the disc and nForce4, changed discs and cables, from Win XP to WIN 64 bit with the same results. The drive won't work, except when I insert the boot disk WIN XP drivers he will read and open the files as it should. Can you help me?

    Osprey4,

I think you're right. The new drive is the problem, and I'm going to get another to confirm.

I changed discs and the RW still does not work.

  • Problem Dell XPS l321x display distortion

    Hello

I have problem with the display of the mentioned system. When I use it sometimes it gets distorted and after a reboot it again OK. Sometimes 2 - 3 times per day 1-2 times a week.

You can see what it looks like here:
    https://www.Flickr.com/photos/32992113@n08/13925924170/

I guess it could be the LCD, video card or display cable! Is it possible to be a software problem? If you can find the PIC, what is the EXACT problem will be highly appreciated due to no warranty on the laptop. I can use it like that, but I guess something is dying and will get worse, so I'll review repair as well as the cost...

    Thank you!

It was exactly the same with me. In any case I gave him a shot - installed the old version of the drivers and it worked :)

  • Dell XPS 13 flickering screen

Hi, I've had my laptop for a few days now and I've noticed a few problems with the screen. It still flashes so slightly at random. Sounds like the screen slightly wearing off random times and is quite noticeable. It happens more when the captain is not plugged. I contacted technical support without help on the issue at all. The room sensor is off, as is the room sensor the worst I have ever dealt. The brightness is at 100%. The screen seems not bright enough at the same time. Any ideas? I reinstalled windows 8 two times already and still the same problem.

    UPDATE *.

The user that says change the setting "Enable adaptive brightness" to OFF, is good for some people. This will work for some.

IF this does not work... the ONLY solution I found, dealing with this during more than a year, is to change the projector and back to the LCD screen output. That ALWAYS works for me; However, once you restart, sometimes, it will return to the light but by changing Adaptive brightness allow OFF, the duality of these operations seem to be a sufficient remedy.

Press Fn button, and then press F1, four times until the output of the projector setting is selected, then let go. The screen will turn black, of course, because the laptop think you use a projector. Then, simply press ENTER, and it will return to the LCD screen. The flicker should have disappeared... until, perhaps after a reboot.

SO, this is very frustrating since this is supposed to be their flagship mobile product.

    I hope this helps.

  • XPS 15 9530 screen flicker

Every 5 to 60 seconds, the screen flickers on this laptop 2 week old. It shows on the bottom of the screen more frequently (about low third). Simply, the screen goes black for a split second then returns normally. I have the drivers for intel (HD4600) and NVidia (GT 750 M) at the time of this post. This just started to happen this morning. I didn't take the drivers from the 335.23 update. I tried to restart a couple of times without success. Anyone else having this problem?

I had the same problem. I know it's weird sounds but disable the Intel Device Manager driver solves the problem.

  • Dell XPS 8500: LaserJet Professional P1102w - problem printing envelope

Recently I had to change my router, which has led to this wireless HP printer reset, and now the envelope printing function does not work.  The broadcast for the envelopes window is in Microsoft Word, but when I click on print, an error message appears in the status area of monitor that says: "this document does not print" and a red dot on the printer flashes.  Any ideas on what settings to check/change if you print envelopes works again?  Thank you!

    Hello

You may need to reinstall the printer driver on the PC, like the printer probably got a new IP network with the new router.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-LaserJet-P1100-Printer-series/4110394/model/4110306/drivers/

Alternatively, you can just go to your control panel > devices and printers > add printer and select your wireless printer, since you probably already have the driver on your system.

    Still, I'm working on a big 27 inch as well with a 2560 x 1440 resolution, and I don't have this problem.

You need get a better grip on the resolution.  2560x1440px and 3200x1800px are not resolution, they are a number of pixels displayed your displays.  For you you need to take into account the size of display resolution.

Both of your displays have same 16:9 aspect ratio but have different sizes, and the number of pixels.

Office 27 "screen displays 2560 x 1440 pixels that a 108pixel of density per inch pixels are 1/109" x "1/109 he be 11 881 px per square inch.

Your laptop 15.6 screen displays 3200 x 1800 pixels that a 235pixels of density per inch pixels are 1/235 "x" 1/235 there are 55 225 px per square inch.

So the same thing of pixels displayed on you 27 "display. Will posted on your 13.6 "appears in and region 1/5 the size that they appear in you 27" screen.

The resolution is the Pixel density DPI pixel size.   Pixels have no size until there is a resolution involved.  Display are executed at a DPI of resolution they do not image the resolution defined in the image file.  They display only one pixel in size usually their size native pixel.  So the pixels in an image are displayed at the display DPI resolution and will not be the same size on all screens.

  • Dell XPS 12 format, I lost my license to win 8?

    I have a Dell XPS 12

I had problems and I lost all my partitions.

So I had the Dell with an empty SSD.

Its the weekend and Dell support is closed.

Fortunately, I have a Dell XPS 12, which is the same model.

I made a recovery disk Factory Image of my second XPS 12 and restored my first XPS (using the second factory XPS Image)

However she moved on the XPS license key the first XPS second.

It will be not active online because he says that it is already in use on my second XPS.

How can I get my key of the first XPS specification?

I checked the box to the PC and there is nothing in there with a license key.

Online research he says Dell integrate the key into the motherboard? That means I've lost my license? or is there a way back?

OK, the engineer came today with a new Liteon SSD and a recovery key.

It has replaced the DSS without trying the recovery key, don't know why...

It replaced the Samsung SSD with a SSD from Liteon (which I am not happy). Then he recovered 12 XPS with USB sent by Dell.

The touch screen was not working and windows was still not activated.

He called Dell, dell asked him to follow certain steps which included disabling Secure Boot and tries to get back again. what he does, but he still had the same problem.

The touch screen seems to be a driver problem and they key seems to be a motherboard problem.

Reference Dell sent him a new screen, new bezel for the screen and a motherboard to replace...
