It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own. Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1st in the boot order. Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive. When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key. Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which. Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons). Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key. See you soon. RESTART Windows I hope this helps. I hope this helps. Computer does not load Windows after reset after installing HP-J6413 Bought J6413 all-in-one; the software that is installed according to the instructions on the CD. Attempted to restart after the installation, the computer hangs upward after shooting intself on and display the logo of the motherboard, does not load Windows. Printer is off, did reset, everything was fine, Windows loaded etc. Repeat the action and came to the conclusion that the power of the computer with the printer off left (it's a fax machine, it should be all the time) or even reset the onboard computer after, say, install new software, prevents the loading of Windows on them turn on the computer. Only possible mode of operation is to put off the printer, then turn off the computer, then turn on printer to serve fax standby and then do the same set of operations before turning to new computer. Please refer to the manuals that you received for your PC and disable the "USB Émulation" and "USB devices starting" the BIOS settings. It did not come with a cd key and I tried to go back to the last good config and it did not work (im going with a file corrupt and need a cd key). He gets in the background, but is not past. I want to just reinstall windows 7 home 64 bit, but I miss a cd and don't know how to get the cd or the cd key for it. New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows. This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands... For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward... You will probably find the product key in the compartment to batteries. I have a laptop Dell Inspiron 9400 Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 operating systems Last night, he showed 16 updates are ready to be installed the automatic updates. So I clicked to install the updates as I always do. I have everything done exactly the same thing. When updates have been made install prompted me to restart now for the updates to take effect. I have clickedd the button Restart now and he acted like he was going to reboot except is went to a blue screen with a message that says: A disk read error has occurred. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart I tried several times by pushing the Ctrl + alt + del keys to restart my system, it does not start... It shows the DELL screen with the loading bar, which is in charge of the left to the right. It then displays Back to the blue screen with the same Message (an office read error)... I tried once or twice as the system restart in Mode safe mode (F8)... This doesn't work anymore... He always flashes back to the BLUE SCREEN with the same message. Please, can someone tell me why this would happen as a result of the windows updates...? How this can be fixed or what should I do to get my back operational system? Thank you... Get a new hard drive I guess. You got recovery discs so that there will be no problem to do work again. Chris my computer with windows broken and now my new computer does not have windows, is it possible to get windows on my new computer from my old? Hello You tell us what type of license you have. If the former was preinstalled, NO, you cannot transfer it. Read this information: If the laptop came with the preinstalled Windows operating system (Dell, HP, Acer, etc.), this product key supplied with the laptop is preinstalled OEM license and is not transferable. OEM license/product key (systems of operating pre-installed on Dell, HP, etc.) is related to the first machine it is installed on and dies when dies of this machine. The above applies also to OEM system builders licenses. License of operating system in detail, that you buy and install yourself, are allowed to be transferred to another machine. And retail licenses also can be installed on a machine at one time. ___________________________________________________ And please read this, you can: http://www.Microsoft.com/OEM/en-GB/licensing/sblicensing/pages/licensing_faq.aspx#fBid=cbW6pY-wjS6 See you soon.
