I wonder if someone could give me some tips about the foregoing.

During the last two weeks my laptop screen was flicker - colored lines transiting via the page until they get darker and darker. It seems to stop or slow down if I move the laptop (usually at the back) Although lately, it will go completely black.

I have the laptop put in place for the automatic stop when I shut the lid and the only solution when the screen becomes black must do exactly that. It will then normally once I open the lid.

I tried Googling a lot of solutions (that much I find completely confusing) and wonder if it could be a wire lose somewhere?

Any help or advice with gratitude would appreciate it because it is frankly :) drive crazy me

    > I have tried Googling a lot of solutions (that much I find completely confusing) and wonder if it could be a wire lose somewhere?

I put t think that it s a connection lost problem.
But to be honest I'm not quite sure if it's just a problem of software/graphics card driver or maybe a serious display problem.

In any case; from my point of view, you must perform some tests. For example, you must uninstall the graphics driver (can be done in the Device Manager) and should download and install the latest available on the European driver Toshiba page.
In addition you should also connect an external monitor to the laptop to check if the same problems of display is visible on2nd, external monitor.

In case the external monitor would be unaffected, the problem is not related to the graphics card or graphics card driver, but without doubt the dysfunctions of the screen internal.
In this case this part needs to be replaced.

  • Satellite C660D-16F - horizontal lines on the screen flicker

    Hello
I'm having a problem with lines flickering cityscape randomly appearing on the screen during a random time (during all kinds of situations, video playback web browsing, the CPU usage high or low, etc.). A very similar behavior can be seen on these videos:

    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=wdipBbRzjSc
    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=1F2H2vaROqM

The motherboard has been changed already nothing doesn't.
From sources around the internet the best current estimate for a cause is the management of advanced power, which dynamically changes the basis (in CPU or GPU) transmission. The deactivation of these (turing off PowerPlay, affecting feeding Windows for maximum performance management, etc.) does not help.

The issue has been present for months. only 1 BSODS happened, perhaps caused by a directx / display driver problem do not know if there is a link.

Still could not reproduce the problem (I tried universal stress tests, tests of cpu / memory-vga, etc.). The question is very random.
System: Windows 7 Prof 64 bit, the latest drivers from the toshiba Web site.

    Any ideas?

I ve checked this video but I n t see anything.

On this virtual path is not easy to discuss these issues, but what I want to know is to follow:
Have you tried to connect the external display and check if the same thing happens again?

In my opinion, these questions may be result from dysfunction of the graphics card. To find out what the problem may be you need time and more stable. Get the second HARD drive, put it in your laptop, install original Toshiba recovery image and test several days with the factory settings.

If the same happens again material, it must be related issue.

  • Windows 7 is not supported (the screen brightness problem)?

I called Lenovo technical support to see if they had a solution for unable darken the screen in Windows 7.  The suport person told me to load the most recent drivers.  I did and then recalled with my file number.  I told them that the suggestion did not work (I knew he wouldn't).

The guy asked me if I had received the update of Win 7 from Lenovo, and I said, 'no, I bought Windows 7 and installed this version.

Finally, when he realized that he couldn't help me, he told me that they couldn't give me more help because I had loaded "unsupported software.  Apparently, they believe Windows 7 (if not received Lenovo) 'no software support!

    Thank you

One thing you could try setting your monitor to the factory settings. This is done by the buttons on the screen, and it is different for each monitor, so I can't tell you exactly how do it, but it should be pretty easy. Most likely, it'll be press menu, press on + or - to navigate to reset/factory reset / all you can hear, then button selection, then select most likely again or +.
I must say on the monitor menu, what to press.

It is highly unlikely to be a Windows problem. This is probably your
your video card or the cable connected to the monitor.

Try the cable first; Make sure that it is closely connected to both ends.

If that doesn't fix it, open the case and make sure that the video card is
    sitting firmly.

If this does not it, borrow a monitor from a friend and see if
using that solves the problem. If so, buy a new monitor. If she
doesn't work, you probably need a new video card.

  • Interference/Dell XPS 13 display screen flicker problem

    Hello

I bought my laptop Dell XPS 13 (L321X) in December of 2012.  Starting in mid-2013, I began to experience my screen suddenly blur. I enclose a picture of what's going on. I don't think nothing of it at first, and honestly it would happen maybe once a month.  I thought that it was maybe that I had the laptop on my lap and it was be overheated.  In any case, I don't think a lot of it

Since the beginning of this year, I saw that it started doing it more frequently.  Last month, it happened more frequently, to the point that it disrupts my use of the laptop.  I LOVE the laptop, except for this issue.  Can someone please help me understand what seems to be the problem with the display problem?

I haven't tried the connection to the laptop to an external monitor to see if the problem is with my video player or a screen.  It's just hard to tie it to an external monitor at the time where the problem starts, because the interference goes away in 20-30 seconds.

Hi all, I posted this message a few months ago.  I never received any positive suggestions or solving the problem, so I did what I do naturally when I'm out of options.  I reformatted my entire hard drive and re-installed windows and all the drivers from scratch.

Pouf!  Problem gone!  Didn't happen for several months.  I guess that there is a bug in the version of the BIOS or display drivers.  I recommend others try this - it worked for me and I am in love with the XPS.

    Good luck!

  • After reinstall Window Vista 32 bit, I can't move the slider to increase the resolution of the screen, how do I solve this problem

My Dell Inspiron 530 sudenlly crashed, I could not start it. I called for the support of a group that I paid for. Technicians helped me start the PC, but they could not fix the screen resolution: in the display settings window, the cursor is on the left end of the bar, the low position and could not be moved. The technician finally asked me to save the folders files and reinstall Windows Vista. After the relocation, the screen resolution problem persisted. Technicians then reformat the HD, then reinstall Windows Vista again, the result was the same. We cannot change the resolution. Help, please.

    Thank you

    Roye

    Hello again Roee,

Thank you for the updated information and I can actually respond directly to the question of how it is connected. You're right it's the LG 6pin cable that provides power to the converter card, while the backlight is also connected to the converter card. I am providing you with a link to the list of HP parts store the parts of your computer where you can see the part number 654251-001 - rear panel light FFC (LG 6pin) 250 mm. You will also see the part number 653864-001-23 converter card which you may need to replace.

You can also buy the parts there, too, if you wish.

I was unable to locate the manuals or documents that would give you clear instructions on how to properly install the BACKLIGHT, but you can follow the basic steps in reinstalling the converter card that I have set out below:

Step 1. Gently detach the connectors of power and backlight of the Board of Directors
Note that the location of the connector backlight will vary according to the manufacturer of Panel
Step 2. Remove both screws of the card and pull the jury on the PC
Step 4. Align the two holes on the plate with the spacers inside the unit
Step 5. Replace the two screws of the Commission of the converter
Step 6. Replace the connectors of power and backlight to the Board of Directors
Step 7. Set the DIP switch on the Board to match the configuration for panels manufacturers

The configuration of the DIP switch for each manufacturer of Panel is painted stencil on the converter card itself

Please re-post if you need extra support. Thank you again for post you on the HP Forums. Have a wonderful day!

    Hello

    1. don't you make changes to the computer until the problem occurred?

I suggest you to set up your computer in a clean boot state, and check to see if the same problem happens.

By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

Follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click on start toreduce this top that i, type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box and press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click continue.

    (b) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (c) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click restart.

I have a desktop with Windows Vista. Many times, the screen is the gel with an error massage "video Mode not supported". What could be the problem and the solution. ?

    Hi Izzy Nagar,

    ·         Exactly when you receive this error message?

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    ·         Do you have any extended monitor connected to the computer in the past or at the present time?

Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:

Method 1: You can try to reduce the resolution of the screen (lower), then check if the message still appears.

Check also if the refresh rate of the monitor is set correctly and check the manual of the monitor for assistance.

Flicker of the correct monitor (refresh rate)

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/correct-monitor-flicker-refresh-rate

Method 2: Use the option ' enable video low resolution (640 × 480) "start, then update your video card driver and check if the problem still persists.

    a. click the Start button, click the arrow next to Shut Down and then click on restart.

    b. do one of the following:

    ·         If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then stop and restart your computer.

    ·         If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to select the operating system you want to start in safe mode, and then press F8.

    c. on the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to select activate video low resolution (640 × 480) and press ENTER.

    d. connect to your computer with an account of a user who has administrator rights.

    e. If you can see your desktop, there is a problem with your video card. Try to update your video card driver. For more information, see the article:

Updated a hardware driver that is not working properly

    I hope this helps.

  • Finally two updates slightly incompatible with Windows 8.1, appearance of flicker black dots on the screen?

I would say that this last two updates. latest Firefox version 32.0 have a compatibility issue with Windows 8.1.
My laptop newly bought worked fine with Firefox until recently. About two to three days before, during the navigation. blackheads should blink on the screen. At first, I figured well problem of pixel, but after testing the same sites with IE 11, these black glitter points seemed not at all. I tested it with chrome and no points.
These black spots have not appeared before on Firefox, only recently. Unfortunately, I'm very uncomfortable with the use of Firefox that I had been using this browser since 2005, but this compatibility issue makes it difficult, cause flickering points can be annoying.

What you describe was reported before and it is almost always bound by graphics drivers. Firefox will (by default) use hardware acceleration to help speed up the rendering etc. On some graphics cards/driver combinations (most with Intel video) people reported black dots. Disabling the hardware acceleration option usually clears this up.

    Does look like this: https://bug913419.bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=831738

    Some other threads for reference:
    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/questions/974717
    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/questions/856277

It is not limited to Win8.1 - were reported on both Linux and workaround there is to change the method of hardware acceleration... until the Intel video driver has been updated.
