Intermittent screen cutting - U2713HM

Hello

I am experiencing intermittent shutter screen when you run the max-resolution 2560x1440@60Hz on my new Dell U2713HM monitor.

The monitor is connected to a laptop Dell E6520 w. Nvidia NVS 4200 M. graphics card drivers are the latest from Dell, which is the version of the driver is 296.79. Windows is Windows 7 Enterprise, 64-bit (SP1).

I tried to reset the monitor to factory settings (menu screen) and I tried with the old and new Dell and Nvidia drivers.

The laptop is in a docking station (Dell) and I am using cable DVI - D (dual link) and a switch ATEN KVM (CS1784).

I have two other computers that are connected through the KVM switch, using identical cables, and I don't feel any problems running the same resolution as mentioned above.

Please answer on how I can fix this problem because the unusable monitor running in this resolution.

Update:

Using a DisplayPort cable directly between the monitor and the E-port makes the new display driver (NVidia 313.96 Beta) detects the monitor correctly in its resolution native 2560x1440@60Hz.

This does not work with an older driver, or a job with a<->DisplayPort DVI - D cable.

Now begins the hunt for a KVM that supports DisplayPort...

I bought an Acer S220HQL monitor and the display on it frequently, but briefly, cutting. Instances of this issue are erratic, but when it happens, it will "blink" black for a second or second half every 10 seconds or more. Sometimes I can spend hours without seeing any problems but. I have also observed that he seems to have an increased risk to occur or flashes more quickly when the navigation on certain websites like youtube or imageboards or some games. On rare occasions, I saw the message "input not supported", but for the most part the screen a few cuts to black for a brief moment, but can happen very often. (As I type this, my screen is sharp for a second once all the ~ 10-15 seconds)

    Currently, my system is like:

Someone at - he a clue what could be causing this, and if I can do something? This problem extends to almost unusable at times embarrassing.

(Edit) Try to manually go through the program "run" through the windows 8 menu caused the display to be cut for as long as I stayed in the start menu, almost all the time I tried to start. Going to look at solutions related to windows 8, while waiting for a response.

Just tried something that seemed to work to seek randomly forums:

    Shut down my computer

Disconnected my monitor completely (both ends)

Plugged my monitor to new first of all the part that goes into the monitor, then the power cord

Made sure to switch my monitor BEFORE my computer

I immediately noticed the screen is a bit brighter and he did not cut once once in a few hours, although I'll have to keep observation for a few days to make sure that it is really the solution.

  • twinkling of intermittent screen on laptop: using windows vista

    Hello
I use Windows Vista on my laptop about 2 years back (HP dv5 series)
All of a sudden a week, the screen started to Flash intermittently... it almost goes running with all the white lines, for a second or two... and then stops himself. Sometimes it happens very frequently, like three times in an hour, and sometimes not even once in 3 hours.  Windows Update is on and all the drivers to date by themselves.
I tried restoring the system to a date before I started having the problem on my laptop. It worked fine for a day, and then the problem started again.
Can someone please suggest what to do? In addition, this flicker of the screen would lead any type of damage to the screen if not checked soon? My laptop is out of warranty and I'm not sure what to do.

    Hello

    drivers are normally specific model

and HP provides the drivers for their products

so, you need to ask HP if you can swap the drivers around model to model

and Yes to keep an eye on what the drivers left 3rd update windows wants to install on you!

  • Top of the screen cut off

First Watch that most of the people are going to say that I have a screen resolution problem, I can tell you that it is not the case. The problem, for some reason any the top of my screen is off; but not in the usual way. Its as there is a buffer as if Explorer thinks it can go as high as she can (rephrasing Windows Explorer solves the problem for a little bit, but then it goes back to be cut.) I have a dual monitor set up, with a monitor 20' via vga and a 22' tv via hdmi, regardless of which I display main happens and only on the primary display. You can still see just background Explorer will go on top of the page if he at the top of the screen. I tried a clean boot, but that did not work, I don't know what are the causes of the problem, it seems to just happen on its own. The screen 20' resolution is 1600 x 900 and the TV resolution is 1920 x 1080. Anyone have any ideas?

Well I just inadvertently solved the problem... it turns out that it had nothing to do with the resolution of the screen, but it was the fault of dell all! Reference Dell defined the default theme to one that changed the log on the bottom, until I restarted, I changed the theme to the theme of landscape. When I logged in and the screen did not get pushed down, I changed the theme of dell and of course, everything has been cut. So I just stay away from this theme dell then.

  • Where can I find the tutorials without the bottom of the screen cut off?

One of the first tutorials shows the guy take a giraffe from a photo and put it on the beach. (He moves too fast) It clicked once and moves by... I can't tell what the bottom of the screen is cut off! and it's slightly blurry, not very good tutorials. (Lightroom tutorials were great, day and night)... I tried this same thing, first it resized my picture for a little thing and when I clicked with the Quick Selection tool it erratic chose only the parts of the person I'm moving. What I am doing wrong? Three hours and I am so frustrated that I forgot most of what I have learned. I had a little things in two on the same window by moving a single photo at a time and the second was my second layer but could not get to see the two on the list that I can use a layer. So basically, it was a disaster. I'm giving today.

Trainsimple.com and Lynda.com online video tutorials are worth looking at.

    Hello

It's very strange. All the drivers designed for Windows XP Home Home edition can be used for WXP Pro too. Please install only the drivers listed on the Toshiba download page. You will find some version of 28.46 nVidia display driver.

You can also use all the drivers from the CD of tools & utilities delivered. BTW: have you installed WXP including SP2 or an earlier version of WXP?

Any key / button I press on the screen does not recover, but I can see the disk activity light that the camera seems to function normally. The only resolution at this point that I found is a reset of power coercive.

    Someone at - it suggestions?

It of not easy to say what's wrong or why it occurs.
To me, this looks like a software problem. Perhaps that some registry entries are corrupted or system files are damaged.
In any case, try to use applications to clean the registry. I use the CCleaner. It s a freeware tool and you can find it on most of the download sites. Google a bit.

  • iPhone 6 more screen unresponsive

I have an iPhone 6 and which has a blocking problem intermittent screen, sometimes the top of the screen shows a white dashed line on the top, and when you tap an app on the screen it opens another approx. 75% of the time that the phone works fine. The store technology Apple informed me that the problem is with my video card which they don't repair. I asked him if it was the video card then why if I apply a slight pressure on the corners opposite the screen the screen starts to work. He did not, he said. I asked him if the item was covered by the warranty and he informed me that my phone was 3 months warranty, and if it is 90 days, he could guarantee the phone. What irritates me is I take perfectly care of my phone and it is clearly an unwanted material. I tried to reset the phone but it is always the case. What can I do else?

Unfortunately, you will have to pay for repair.

  • New screen of the iPad 1 Air gel IOS 9.2.1

The iPad I bought last week has an intermittent screen freeze. If you restart it, by pressing the HOME and ON / OFF buttons it will reset and work for a short period of time, but then the screen freezes i.e. you cannot select any of the icons on the Home Page. Can I have a defective unit?

I have the same problem with an iPhone iPad Air 2 and 6.  The iPad can go through many cycles of freeze/reboot and then is OK for several hours before the problem repeats.  Sometimes after a reboot, it goes directly to the home screen, without going through the PIN/fingerprint reader.

  • U2713H and U2713HM Displayport

I ordered two screens refurb U2713HM out of the store, but an injury to the top being a Dell U2713HM & the other a U2713H screen.  Both are good enough work to satisfaction, but with a few quirks.  I use both connected to the ports of my beginning 2013 15 "macbook pro retina two thunderbolt. The u2713HM, while you sleep, seems to appear randomly with a backup mode incoming message from authorities and then immediately falls asleep every two hours.  It is more an annoyance than a real problem.

The other screen, the U2713H, sometimes gives me enter power saving mode when waking sleep or restart and the only solution seems to turns with the power button and turn it back on.   It is a bit more annoying and discouraging.  I'm curious to know what is my problem.  Is minor incompatibilities with mac or I would benefit from new cables (I don't use expensive white 6 ft monoprice cables, but I do not exactly know what the end in all the 'best' cable is to be used, but I would be happy to order it if there was a final recommendation, or some other configuration monitor I want to toggle.)  I also have the opportunity to spend minidsiplayport on the u2713h displayport cable to a cable minidisplayport minidisplayport if it would somehow /shrug useful.

    Thank you, chaoflux

    Hello Chaoflux,

I have the same 'enter power saving mode' problem, but after I changed the port settings of your Displayport 1.1 Menu display->-> DisplayPort 1.2 to disable the display settings, the problem never came again.

Hope that fix your problem also.

  • Incorrect version of the Intel driver causing the problems of Youtube?

So I installed a program called the "Bluestacks App Player" from a few months back. It's basically an emulator designed to run Android on PC applications. When I downloaded first, he told me that she needed a newer driver. I thought it was weird, because Windows update is supposed to keep my drivers up to date automatically, but decided to go with her when even (because, you know, these birds Flappy urges...). Anyway, as soon as he installed the driver, my screen went black for about 10 seconds. Then the screen came back, but with a very old Windows design that I had seen before only when I booted my Windows 7 laptop in safe mode. After a minute or two, the screen has disappeared and then reappeared with the normal Windows 7 and updated design page. I started the program kkkkk and it worked fine and I was able to play some of my favorite on my laptop Android apps (Temple Run, Flappy bird, cut the rope, etc.). I thought it was really cool and decided not to do a system restore, despite fear of blacking out screen / display the safe mode of Windows style. After a month or two I had almost forgotten this topic.

However, the other day when I was watching videos on Youtube, my screen blacked out for a few seconds before reappearing. An error message appeared, which I ignored him, assuming it was a glitch once. However, a minute later, when I was watching another Youtube video, the new screen blacked out for a few seconds. This time, I read the error message. (see attached image).

My first thought was "what the f *! I have not even Windows 8 is installed. My machine came with and always had Windows 7. »

So my question is, why I apparently have a driver for Windows 8 (R) installed on my machine? A compatibility issue between this driver Win 8 and my Win 7 OS could be cause my intermittent screen crashes? Also, is there a way to tell what drivers I'm supposed to be on my machine?

Here's another picture. "programs" that were installed with

KKKKK. Some of them as they have installed the drivers.

Any help / advice would be appreciated. (But don't just tell me to do a system restore / repair installation.)

P.S.: Youtube accidents have become more frequent recently. usually my screen turns off or when you try to load a Youtube video or to halfway through a Youtube video. It happens on average at least once or twice a day. Blacks usually only display on during a few seconds, then comes back with the error message shown above.

Also, I checked the website of the manufacturer of my computer. I tried to download what I believe it's the correct driver.

However, after downloading nothing's really happened. When I checked the downloads, it was downloaded a record intel with a bunch of files inside. How can I install the driver?

I don't know how to use the downloaded folder in the site from my computer to install the driver. Also, I currently have a newer version of the intel driver, so I don't know if I can install this one since it comes from a previous version. Do I have to uninstall my current intel VGA driver first? If so, my computer will be able to operate without its VGA driver. As my computer is just a black screen, whenever the driver fails, if I uninstall it, don't I faced with a permanent black screen. I'll be even able to see what I'm doing?

Do NOT trust Windows Update for drivers. Use only those provided by the computer manufacturer.

Why would I only see a mosquito net on an ipad where the objective of an iPad is to see more clearly that of an iPhone.  You have removed all the space to choose my songs, now I don't see my full song titles and screen cut vertically in half with the space wasted on the left hand of the screen under the song now cover photos that is not necessary.  I love the big buttons, so I continue to press the button music instead of break.  Congratulations on to change this.

  • Apple TV Overscan/Underscan control

    Hello

I have a Dynex DX-LCD42HD-09 2009 TV which is known for not having all the video modes, using an HDMI input to adjust to overscan... On this page, users discuss the same problem, only with different video sources, not Apple TV:

    p-lcd-look a - area.html #post16570861 http://www.avsforum.com/Forum/166-LCD-flat-panel-displays/1148222-question-Dynex-1080

Here's the thing with this TV...

The TV has 4 video modes: Normal/wide/Zoom/cinema. None of them does correct the overscan.

TV has a way of 'video art' which has an option for overscan, but is available only when using VGA as input, with a signal as well as the definition does not have HDMI inputs.

Sony Playstation 4, for example, offers a framework of limits systemic screen custom, which completely solves the problem with overscan!-except that it's not - its use is based on the software, and ridiculously, many Sony software (for example, the web browser built-in) is not honoring the limit - the system-wide setting. Similarly, many of the 3rd games of Group (for example, at the time of writing these Overwatch), do honor not the limit of the system screen setting, so that the edges are cut off.

However, sources video like the Nintendo Wii, you have a set underscan across the system that is used in the world on the system. This ensures a video output perfect on my screen and I see what the device is out of my screen.

This brings me to Apple TV. I was hoping that the Apple TV, all Mac, would offer an adjustable under / overscan option to scale the video output on my TV. However, the only option seems to be when you use AirPlay... and even then, during video playback in full screen via AirPlay, it overscans beyond TV.

Apple TV an video output option requires scalable, just like the Mac has. I'm not whole screen using my TV, and it's Aussie a nuisance to use because of this.

    Are there patches there?

Example of overscan on drive AG:

Another example on the video Calibration page, even if the 'minimum' limit is... things are always cut off.

When you use AirPlay Mirroring, there is no screen cut off due to the 'Underscan AirPlay' option set to 'ON'... why this cannot be global?

Apple TV sends the appropriate video signal. It seems to me, there up to the TV set to display it correctly.
