I have a RN204 with a problem with the fan. I looked and read some threads in line with the overall view and all of the various ReadyNAS devices. I guess that's incorrect. The fan is running a constant RMP 4600, the CPU shows its operation at 34 degrees C and it is in reference to the performance of the ADMIN page tab. Overall the fan operates continuously if it is propelled upwards or in the disabled state. This product is new and has been installed by the included mounting hardware. I am running Firmware version 6.4.2 and currently has 2 each, 3 TB WD drives red hard (model WD30EFRX) installed. What I've done so far:-updated the firmware 2 times automatically and manually. -restored to factory settings - reinstall all the NAS drives-reset via the reset switch located on the back of the unit. At this point, I don't know what to do. I have sent Netgear, but thought I would give the community a try as well. Any information you could provide would be useful. • Question about internal fans

I have a HP Pavilion h9 1100 z made in 2012. Look, I get this message at startup: "512 - rear chassis fan not detected '. Its so tight in there it's hard to see, but fans only found for sure is the great raadiator cooled by liquid and its fan and one on feeding. I have the fan speed application v4.49 and I remember in the past, it only showed 3 fans fans showing three different speeds. There are two places where other fans were absent on the screen. Its the same today. So I think that this error message is faulty. What is the vision expertise on this plaese? Thank you.

    AirAmerica, welcome to the forum.

If you can get into the connector on the fan, you should check to make sure that it is properly connected.  If this isn't the case, you will get this error message.

  • Pavilion a1620y FAN problem

I took out the internal fan and I do not know if it must blow into the thing, he is attached to or outside. SORRY; the fan has a label on both sides, we say this model fan, and it is now on the outside and inside that is next to the area of the label say how much makes the fan? I thank; s for your help!

Basically, the air should blow outwards so that the air is out of the unit.  The upper part of the fan must be turned outwards, while the underside must be oriented with the heatsink of heat or inside the case.  The image below shows the top of a 120mm fan (the side who face upward or outward).

  • Satellite Pro R850-15F - freezing randomly and the fan speeds up

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro R850-15F who gave me four years in refurbished condition and so it is quite old.
I have recently installed Windows 10 and things seemed to work very well.

However, last week, I noticed that at least once a day my laptop freezes randomly and immediately the internal fan accelerates, becomes much stronger and a cold air. Whenever this happens, I turned off the laptop and turn it back on it.

After that, it works normally again until the next time it freezes. I don't know anything about computer hardware, but I suspect that it is a problem of series and I wanted to get some advice in case my laptop is close to dying.

If anyone has any help or advice or suggestions to solve the problem, then I would be extremely grateful if you would contact me.

Hope to hear from someone soon,

    Flashback

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here. To me, it looks like problem with some background process that as a result of extremely high CPU usage that locks the phone whole.
High CPU usage means more heat in such situation the fan starts to run a lot faster.

Have you noticed this behavior with a specific action or the use of certain applications?

  • Satellite U200 fan keeps running

    Hello
I've had my u200 for a few months now, but there seems to be a problem with my fan.

No matter what I do with my laptop (install Xp, Vista, Linux, NHC, Toshiba power utility, last version of the bios, change each setting on that you can imagine, defining an external fan blowing directly on my cell phone and so on...) the internal fan from my laptop never stop spinning, and my room is far from warm.

I know at least 3 people with cell phone exact same and none of them has this problem, their fan just turns off whenever they do not any of the CPU intensive job.

This may seem pretty insignificant at first, but it's really me turning crazy while I write long pages of text or watch a movie on my laptop.

Anyone here have an idea on how to fix this, or should I just send my laptop to Toshiba for warranty?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

have you tried to clean your cooling system? If it is already done, try dusting her because a cooling system of dust-clobbed
can slow a machine to the ground and you won´t be able to run your machine correctly.

Just clean it up, or bring the machine to a local servicepartner for cleaning. Just a suggestion ;)

  • Portege 3490CT - replacing the fan

My portege started to freeze after about 10-15 minutes of use and the internal fan doesn't suddenly and more.

I guess it's the fan which is the cause of the problem that the screen remains the same (IE probably not the graphics problem) and there is no odd blue screens or errors and CTRL ALT DEL does nothing...

I had the laptop out and checked for dust and the connection of the fan and everything seems ok.

Is it possible to get a fan on its own or is it attached for the heatpipe (it now is back together and can't even remember what it looks like!)

The 3400 series use the same fan?

Apologies for all the questions, but I really need my small laptop works again

    Thanks a lot :)

    Hello

It seems that your laptop crashes or stops because of high temperatures inside the laptop. For the most part, this problem occurs because of the dust and dirt. Fans cannot work full implementation. I don t think you need to replace the cooling module. Maybe the complete clearing of the module and the fans will solve the problems. Also check the settings in the energy saver.

I m not 100% sure about replacing fan on this unit because I don t know if it s just a fan or the entire module that must be removed. But the best way to find out is to contact Toshiba service. There you can also order parts new and compatible.

  • Re: Satellite M30 604: update BIOS to disable checking of fan/temperature

    Hi all!

    I am a (satisfied) owner of a Satellite SM30-604.

It chanced that the internal fan broke and I managed to provide enough air "fresh" with other fans of two. Let me point out very well on this point: there is no overheating problems. But no fans are now connected to the motherboard (Intel odem i855pm-333, I guess).

Then, it appens when CPU reached 70-72 ° C (this is a normal temperature for this architecture), the mobo to slow down the processor, centrino M (1600 MHz) at a frequency which, roughly speaking, one quarter (400 MHz), leaving the laptop useless.

So my point is: is there a BIOS (also unofficial, modded or what else...) which can turn off checking of the temperature/fan motherboard?

    I'll help apriciate!

    ALE

PS: my current BIOS is Phoenix v1.70. I can't find an official update.

    > So my point is: is there a BIOS (also unofficial, modded or what else...) which can turn off checking of the temperature/fan motherboard?
No, there is no such BIOS.
What you can do is change settings in Toshiba Power Saver for energy savings (I assume you are using Win XP).
So Toshiba Power Saver you can change the method of control of the CPU to fixed and processing speed of the CPU to the next level.

  • Satellite L750-A218 - fan run faster after 3.30 BIOS update

    Hello

Here's a new show, I have am experiencing after the BIOS update.

In my view, that the internal fans turn all the time by placing my hands near the keyboard. According to Toshiba software fan speed is 50% + while I do nothing. On the other hand, it is 25% before the update.

They are updating the BIOS to give the laptop more ventilation or something.
It's weird. CPU temperature is 45%. I upgraded from 3,00 to 3.30, for your information. Thank you.

P.S. The speed of the fan is stuck at 50% + and wont go lower than that.

What bothers me the most is that when I put my hands on the part at rest I feel the vibrations of the fans. I use the keyboard a lot and it is a huge nuisance. Is it possible to get the old BIOS, the BIOS updated not did me not a backup option. Also, I don't have a problem with the voice of fan (s). Its low.

Edit: Just downgraded to 3.10. Its the same thing. Couldn't find the 3.00 version, I've had anywhere. It's frustrating.

  • COMPUTER SHUTS DOWN UNEXPECTEDLY, BUT STAYS ON USING AN EXTERNAL FAN BLOWING INTO IT

I have HP Pavilion P6130Y desktop for a couple of years now where later it turns off after about 10 minutes of being on.  Once it turns off, it will remain only for a few seconds. The internal fans work properly.  I opened the side panel, cleaning of the computer and the dust in the fans and put a regular House external fan blowing into it.  With this fan blowing into it, the computer stays on and works perfectly.  Any know if this is related to a heating problem or is there perhaps any other question that the computer might have? If so, should what parts I replace?

    Hello

Check with HP support, their documentation online and ask in their forums known issues.

As it works with the fan added either something is too sensitive to normal even heat, or the
computer generates just on the edge of the system, or both.

    Certainly a hardware problem.
