internal speakers on my hp Pavilion do not work

I have a HP Pavilion dv6700 and my internal speakers stopped working. I went to check and the system says they are working, but not sound. Any ideas?

Hello

Try the following.

Download the Realtek Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp38501-39000/sp38899.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the Realtek device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When you are finished, download and reinstall the Chipset driver at the following link.

Chipset Driver - Windows Vista.

After reinstalling, shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the installation of Realtek Audio program and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

Kind regards

    Hi @arkas

Welcome to the HP Forums! I see you're a few graphic problems. Did you install the ATI driver on the AMD website? If so, that's the problem. You have switchable graphics, which means that you have two video cards. The Intel card is designed for your treatment of basic graphics every day while the ATI card is designed to handle most of the work. Switchable graphics drivers are configured by the manufacturer of the laptop not the manufacturer of the graphics card.

I suggest that you install your AMD HD graphics driver and your high-definition Intel Graphics Driver. If you need more information on the switchable graphics this document HP Switchable Graphics on laptops equipped with Intel and ATI GPU.

  • T410s internal speakers fade out after a second, headphones work fine

    Hello community,

My THinkpad T410, type 2912-45 G, Windows 7 (64-bit) has a problem with the speakers.

From Monday (June 25) my speakers stop working. When I boot the TP you can hear a static click through the speakers, and he plays the sound windows for a second only. After the second, you hear another click static and speaker no longer works. It's just fine with all other audio content, when the TP is initialized.

After pressing the Mute button, or volume-to top keys or to low volume speakers return to work for a second about (always click static, just before this second and thereafter).

When I plug my Headpones, everything works fine. When I unplug my headphones, speakers work again for a second.

I already updated my BIOS, installed and uninstalled the driver, active the card its (CONEXANT HD AUDIO 20585), tried to update the driver. But nothing has worked so far. I already checked if the switch in the headphone jack is stuck, but I couldn't find anything.

Did anyone experience the same or a similar problem? As the speakers for the second city I suppose, that the material should be good. As the headphones work correctly the sound card must be detected and properly mounted.

I would appreciate if someone could help me with that. Sending the TP (it's always guaranteed whitin) will be my last option because I need TP to work.

    Thank you very much.

Sound still works when I connect my headset (or other device) to the audio output.

Sound still works when I connect to my USB external sound card.

    Volume buttons do not work,

  • Hello, I am trying to get my internal speakers to work. Device States drivers are missing, but no info on what brand and model they are.

Hello, I am trying to get my internal speakers to work. They worked fine up until I had to repalce my hard drive. I finailly got all my drivers installed and updated on the site variouus.  Now, when I check my internal speakers (no system sounds) I can not find the make and model of them.  All I can identify is that I have.  That the drivers are missing. No part number for the company name, etc. is connected with the internal speakers.

Dell PC Tower, Denmension bought 3000 mid-' 04.

    Interanal speakers for system sounds.

Windows XP Edition version family.  IE8

    Windows Defender antispyware software.

    Thank you

I don't know what you mean by getting the drivers from "various sites." The only place to get the drivers for the hardware that is installed with your Dimension is the Dell Web site.

There is only one pilot audio for your Dimension 3000 and it's here:

    http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&cs=08W&l=en&s=bsdv&releaseid=R94481&SystemID=DIM_CEL_3000&servicetag=&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=2430&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=3&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=3&typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&fileid=122481

Of course if you added your own sound card you need get the drivers of the mftr site. but provided with your Dell printer's on the motherboard, and those are the drivers for it. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

After you enter the PN, click Next, then choose the software & Drivers. On the next page use the menu drop down to select your (probably Windows 7 64-bit) operating system. A list will fill with the drivers. Download & save the last Audio driver.

  • Satellite L555 - 10 M - internal MIC does not work?

    Satellite L555 - 10 M

    Hello

It seems that the internal MIC (beside the web camera) does not work, because I can not save anything.
I tried the windows audiorecorder application, Skype application, and one any of them can record my voice.

The external microphone works fine, so I think the software using windows setup and the definition realtek HD audiomanager are OK.

How can I check if it is really a hardware problem?

    Coul you please help me?
    Thank you!

    > I tried the windows audiorecorder application, Skype application, and one any of them can record my voice.

Have you tested the internal mic in relation to the installed webcam software?
Means do because the internal microphone belongs to the internal webcam.
In addition, you should check the settings in the control panel-> sound-> recording tab
The internal microphone should be selected as the default device.
If the internal MIC is not listed it right click and check the options: Show hidden and disabled devices.

My sound card is generally, I thought that there could be a chance to solve the problem simply say - and reconnect wire/Council of the front-end connectors to the sound card... but I never did any technichal stuff in a Tecra, so it would be nice if someone could give me feedback where and how to open it, and if it's still a chance to solve my problem.

    Hello

If you can hear the sound from the internal speakers as well as the sound card works correctly.
In your case I recommend you first check the audio settings in the audio and audio devices you can find in the control panel.

  • Challenges of the audio input jack (seems not work)

    Hello

    I use an HP Envy 15-j030eb, running Windows 8.1 x 64.

Recently, I need to use my laptop audio input jack to connect my speakers, but I don't get all the sounds. I tried to connect two different types of headphones, with no audio to come through. I don't remember really when I finally used, but I'm sure it worked at some point.

Otherwise it is inserted into the Jack, I get his normal good through the internal speakers, connect a TV via HDMI also works very well.

I tried most of the solutions I could find online (definition of default playback device, change the bass and treble levels, do a hard reset, reinstall the drivers...), but nothing helped. Start Notepad from a live USB Ubuntu USB also translates the same behavior; play music while my works of great internal speakers connection helmet muffles all. This leads me to believe that it is not a Windows/driver issue, but a bios/firmware/hardware one.

Run HP (from usb boot) and the test of speaker adio also doesn't send audio signal to my helmet and gives a failure code: gll3kv-6nm782-mfgjxg-20ek03. I could not decypher this identifier.

Any suggestions on how to proceed and get my audio jack working again please?

    Kind regards

    Hi @klmdb

Welcome to the HP Support Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I saw your post about the problems with your audio jack. I looked in that identification code of the failure that you have posted and there is an audio hardware failure which could be a couple of different things, but from what you describe, it's the audio jack that has failed.  The audio jack is not a replaceable part, you will need to seek to replace the motherboard or card mother.

  • 25.0A1 Nightly of Firefox (on Linux) - proxy (SOCKS) does not work

    Hello

I am using SSH tunnels to create a SOCKS proxy. When I used Firefox 23 it works fine, when I use a recent version of every night, don't worry. I use an add-on of FoxyProxy normally, but I tried to turn it off completely and use the proxy settings internal (SOCKS, localhost, 6789) then it does not work either.

I understand, you may need more detailed information, but please specify what information you require.

    Thanks for your help

I'm really sorry, I have some additional info

I tried to run every night in safe mode and manually set the SOCKS proxy and it works as assumed.

In this case, it might be a problem with the addon code

  • Audio does not work... Help!

the audio on my hp Pavilion will not work even if the sound shows that sound plays. Can someone help me with this problem?

    Hello again SwornPromise,

I can understand how frustrating it must be, and will work with you to solve this problem for you. I would like to make sure that there is no window prompting you to RUN or SAVE the program you download. Second, if you have a different browser (IE: Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox) Please try it in one of them.

If you are unable to download the driver I would like you to follow the steps below:

    Step 1. Click Start

Step 2. Click on all programs

    Step 3. Click on accessories

Step 4. Right click on command prompt

Step 5. Click on run as administrator

Step 6. Type "sfc/scannow" press ENTER.

The scan once done restart the computer.
Try to start the download of the new program

If you are unable to download the program, I would recommend that you check the HP support document: backup of files (Windows 7), which will ensure that your personal files are backed up and secure. Then I want you to look at and follow the HP Support document: performing a recovery of HP (Windows 7) system, which will guide you through the recovery of your computer to the factory settings. This will ensure that there are no problems of software on your computer. Be sure to run all your windows and the HP updates so your computer is back to be current.

Please re-post if you need extra support. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!
