Internet being interrupted and double IP address conflict

I have a dell Inspiron 580 - 6 GB ram - Intel I5 cpu hard drive - 500 GB - windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS.

In the last week, I noticed an intermittent loss of internet connection.  This produces every once in awhile my ISP and 15 minutes later everything is ok.  However, now, sometimes 2 - 3 times in an hour - several hours pass without problem and then it happens again.  ISP called and they don't report any specific problem in my area.    I have a desktop computer and a laptop (laptop is an HP with the same operating system as an office, but with an I7 processor).

In the search to make sure that all cables have been sure I noticed that my Cisco Valet router was turned off completely but then less than a minute it must have been restart itself as well as all the lights began blinking after a few minutes the internet connection was back on.   Several times during the day, the same event happened.

I also noticed that a few times during the day that I received the message that "another computer on the network has the same IP address as this computer."  The same message appears twice on the laptop and the desktop.

During this same period, I noticed that the mouse wireless for Office behave erratically - IE. trying to close a browser tab or even a windows control panel - nothing occur up to what I had clicked 6 or 7 times on x to close the window.   It was like when you're first start is a pc and you try to click on something, but the pc is still very busy to fill the trunk and clicking on something does not have an immediate response.  I went into the Task Manager and did not see the elements of high cpu utilization.   I changed the batteries in the mouse, but the problem continued.  I got the wireless station that receives orders from mouse - re hooked and then the mouse worked.

I just mention that I'm not a patellar believer in coincidences, especially technical problems that appear at the same time.

I checked all my windows updates are up-to-date and they are - also in the history there is no update is unsuccessful attempts.

Then, I checked for viruses or malware.  I did a full scan with Norton Internet security - all definitions have been up to date - no problem.  They ran Maalware bytes and once again no problem.

I went into the Device Manager and devices that all reported working properly.

If anyone has faced a similar situation and has any suggestions I'd appreciate your comments. Thank you.

    Hello
    Please follow the instructions below:

When you install Acrobat or Adobe Reader on a system that includes a browser, you automatically configure the browser to open PDF files in the browser window. Acrobat and Adobe Reader install the ActiveX plugin files allow you to use Internet Explorer or AOL to open PDF files. If an application is installed, but do not open the PDF files in the browser window, then work through the following steps to configure the browser:

Acrobat may not work correctly if the system does not meet the following requirements:

    • Intel Pentium III processor or equivalent
    • Microsoft Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4, Windows XP Professional, home edition or Edition Tablet PC with Service Pack 2
    • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0
    • 256 MB RAM (512 MB recommended)
    • 860 MB of available disk space; cache for optional installation files (recommended) requires 460 MB of additional free disk space.
    • screen resolution 1 024 x 768

To open PDF files in a browser window, the ActiveX folder should contain the following files: AcroPDF.dll, AcroIEHelper.dll and pdfshell.dll.

ActiveX controls must be in: program files Files\Adobe\Acrobat\ActiveX

If one of these files is missing, then repair Acrobat or Adobe Reader by choosing Help > repair Acrobat Installation or reinstall the application.

Make sure that you use a version of your web browser, Acrobat and Adobe Reader supports, such as Internet Explorer 6. Supported for Adobe Acrobat 8, Adobe Reader 8 browsers are Internet Explorer 6.0, 6.0 SP1, Internet Explorer 7.0, Firefox 1.5 or later, Mozilla 1.7 and AOL 9.

To make sure that the Windows registry provides the information that your web browser should display PDF files, restart Windows. If the Windows registry is not updated after the installation of Acrobat, then the web browser can not find the references it needs to access the PDF files on the web.

If you have an older version of Acrobat or Adobe Reader is installed on the system, and then use the Add / Remove programs in Windows to remove it.

If you use Acrobat, and then repair or replace the damaged or missing files by using the repair feature the Installation of Acrobat or the dialog box add or remove programs.

    To repair Acrobat:

    1. Choose Start > Control Panel.
    2. Double-click Add or remove programs.
    3. Select Acrobat and then click on edit.
    4. Follow the on-screen instructions to repair the Acrobat.

7 reinstall Acrobat or Adobe Reader.

To ensure that the correct information of the plug-in is added to the Windows registry, reinstall Acrobat or Adobe Reader.

If you want the browser to open PDFs in a separate Acrobat window, then configure the browser to use Acrobat or Adobe Reader as a helper application. Then, when you select a PDF file in Internet Explorer or AOL, the browser opens the PDF file in an Acrobat window instead of the browser window.

To configure the browser to use Acrobat or Adobe Reader to open PDF files:

    1. Close your web browser.
    2. Start Acrobat or Adobe Reader.
    3. Choose Edition > Preferences.
    4. Select Internet from the list on the left.
    5. Deselect Display PDF in browser, and then click OK.
    6. Restart Internet Explorer or AOL.

Note: The next time you select a link to a file PDF, the browser may ask you to open or save the file. If you choose to open the file, then the browser opens the file in the support application that you specified. If you choose to save the file, the browser downloads the file to the hard drive.

  • Mac address conflict

    another newbie question:

    I read: fencing isolated virtual

machine other computers on the network. This prevents the IP and MAC

address conflicts that might exist if several copies of the same

machine are deployed at the same time.

    OK, I understand that

but I'm not able to imagine the situation where 2 deployed machines can

have the same MAC address: if I'm not mistaken when I deploy a machine, a

new unique MAC is generated then how I can have 2 identical mac

    the addresses?

Thanks in advance and best regards

    VMB

The MAC address must be generated when a virtual machine is deployed.

We can not control if the MAC address would correspond to that of an another vm out there.

I have seen that some software binds the license to the MAC address of a NIC card, so people play with the bits of the MAC address to a VMX file.

It's not supposed to happen, and you can get reported MAC/IP because of this conflict.

I have a Hp touchsmart 600-1050 and I also have 3 other laptops running of the internet itself, but I get a message IP address conflict, why? & How can I fix this problem, thanks Aldo Zapata

An IP address conflict occurs when two computers on a LAN (local area network) or the Internet were assigned to the same IP. IP conflicts between two computers normally make one or unusable both for network operations.

    Try below methods

    1. for networks where the addresses are fixed (statically assigned) IP, ensure that each local host is configured with a unique IP address.

    2. If your computer has an address assigned dynamically, releasing and renew its IP address can bypass IP address conflicts.

Run the following commands in the command prompt:

    ipconfig/release

    ipconfig / renew

4 Apple TV on my office network, get conflicts of IP addresses between them despite being assigned to different addresses reserved in DHCP

Although it seems that they realize and correct this means my network notifify me of the conflict and that can mean more than 30 emails per day... and on a long weekend which means 90 more e-mails to remove after it making sure it is the same 4 mac address having problems... How can I do that, go away

Given that you are reserving DHCP addresses, I suppose that you have set the ATV to get automatically addresses. That should work.

Are there opportunities that they are waking up on WiFi and Ethernet switching? On may switch from one WiFi network to another?

Do you really need fixed IPs?

The alternative to the reserved addresses would be to reduce the size of the DHCP pool and set the address, staticly ATV.

Just by the way, have you given the names of different ATV? This is necessary for the Apple protocols.

Can you identify the versions of your ATV, see identify your model of Apple TV - Apple Support?

Now look and see if obtain an IP address automatically is selected in the option button or if the use of the following IP address is checked.

If the latter, you can change the last number of the IP address for anything else. Each window and then click OK.

Example: It can be set to 192.168.1.1 and you want to change it to 192.168.1. 2.

If it says still in use, then change to 3 and 4 and so on until there is no conflict.  Don't mess with any other numbers such as subnet mask, a default gateway or DNS servers.

If the radio button is set to obtain an IP address automatically, then the problem is prolly with your DHCP server. Since I always assign my own IPs, I'm not sure what set which would result.

  • Unable to solve a problem with internet connection (IP address conflict)

Recently, problems began to appear on my Windows 7 Ultimate based laptop from dell on my internet connection. yesterday, early signs of trouble appear as inconsistent internet speeds and sudden incapacitation of Youtube to play or buffer video. Since then, Internet connection still exists and I am still able to actually go online, however, my YouTube maintains do not load, showing "an error has occurred, please try again later" on each video, in the middle of a black screen. Then, windows began to frequently display the message "Windows has detected an IP address conflict - another computer on the network has the same IP address as this computer. However, the system itself not provides me with options to do anything to solve the problems, and option 'Diagnostic' of the network connections window nothing pick up. To see if this error is only on my computer, I've put together several computers and after you connect to each of them to my wireless modem, all lead to the same question of incompatible connection and YouTube failed on them also. To prove it yet, I created a Wi - Fi hotspot using my iPhone 5 and to connect my computer, and all well worked, including youtube.

I use google chrome for web browsing, but don't lie not this problem with chrome. I tried Safari, Firefox and Internet Explorer, and they seem to all fail the process of loading to youtube. Empty the cache, cookies and data seem to be useless.
Since then, I searched high and low through the web for solutions to this issue. Unfortunately, many remedies such as the famous "ipconfig / renew" option has become completely useless. I have restarted my computer many times, tried to disconnect and reconnect the wireless adapter, tried unplugging all devices in the wireless network and even tried to connect to my modem and wait for a few minutes - several times. Apparently, all these ways, I found online and also experienced myself to fix this problem comes empty. Windows is still showing me that pop up and internet connection is clearly unstable.
I'm running out of ideas and patience in research throughout the Web for solutions, at - he encounter the same problem and has found a way to solve? I desperately need help that it becomes uncomfortable. Thank you very much
On a side note : all mobile devices, including the 920 Lumia, iPhone 5/4 s / 4, a HTC and Samsung Note he's connected to the internet without a hitch and looked good to load videos to youtube and Web sites.

You connect to a router or directly to a modem?

You can also update the drivers for your network card. It is usually best to visit the Web site of the manufacturer of the adapter, and download the latest driver on their part. You can also take a look at the following as which explains how to upgrade your drivers:

IP address conflict occurs when the same IP is used by another computer on the network.
To avoid this, you must configure your IP address manually.

I'm not too smart with computers.  I get a message saying that I have an IP address conflict.  I do what it says on the command prompt on the command ipconfig/release ipconfig/renew.  He said cannot set while the media is disconnected.   Have checked Web sites and what to check the adapter, ethernet cable, router etc.   Still is not resolved.

    Hello

    (1) what operating system is installed on the computer?

    (2) since when are you facing this problem?

    (3) any changes made to your computer before this problem?

    (4) do you have a wired or a wireless connection?

One of the components of the Internet connection on your computer is a package of instructions called TCP/IP. TCP/IP can sometimes become damaged or altered. If you can't connect to the Internet and you have tried all other methods to solve the problem, TCP/IP can be causing it.

TCP/IP is a main component of Windows, you cannot delete it. However, you can reset TCP/IP to its original state by using the NetShell (netsh) utility.

You can try the steps in this link and check if this solves the problem.

  • Windows system error: there is an IP address conflict with another system with the network. How do I remove this error message?

I just installed a new internet provider and all of my connections are working fine, but I constantly get this "Windows system error: there is an IP address conflict with another system with the network." I have my electrician of the internet modem connected to my office. I have also two wireless devices connected to the appearance of the Modem wireless. I constantly get this error message mentioned above, and I want to get rid of it.

This means that all that he says.  Your Windows system has an address that already exists on your local network.  Turn your system off and use a working system to locate this address and to which unit he belongs.  In most LANs, the router's DHCP server.  You may be able to ask the router which addresses are used and see what device uses this address, but I suspect not.

Duplicate addresses can occur when two systems received the same address manually, or when we got an address in the DHCP of the router range. It is unclear when this happened because he is not in control of the address and puts the address duplicate to a second system.  You need to track down, ensuring that all addresses manually asigned are out of the DHCP range, that you book the address of the router, if you want the device to use this address, or configure all devices to request the address of the router using DHCP.

  • Getting IP address conflict

    Hi all
Recently we are facing a strange problem, we have about 5 windows server 2003 and about 50 users windows xp SP3 all our servers get IP address conflict error at the same time, and we need to disable and enable the network card, sometimes even need to restart servers, its every 7 or 8 hours past what we did :

We have checked all our wireless routers their DHCP is Disable. (If even the DHCP is enable the DHCP range is totally different with the release of the DHCP range for computer) 1-100 IPs are excluded for servers, printers and etc... customers leave 101
We have disabled the DHCP server and connect a computer to the network and wait for intellectual property. (We wanted to make sure that there are no other DHCP running on the network service, we do not have the IP).
All our customers get automatically the IP person uses the static IP address, they are limited to change the setting of the intellectual property. (if someone IP static value as possible 5 servers download conflict at the same time, she would be in conflict with a server not all).
We have changed the NIC for servers and even uninstall the driver in case if something wrong with the LAN card but the same problem exists.
All servers are updated with the latest Anti virus and I look on the internet about the possibility of any virus, bringing to this conflict, no results.
I tried to see the same log, there is no log for IP address conflict and sometimes my customers also complain that they are getting the error of conflict but they receive only notification noting that most everything works normal for them
its really make me mad don't know how to solve when the conflict get server all of them stop working sometimes I just OK the error all of this hard work. I don't really know what to do.
Do you have an idea what could be the problem?

  • Getting the error "There is an IP address conflict with another system on the network." on XP computer

"There is an IP address conflict with another system on the network." I keep getting these messages on my computer. -What it means and how to solve this?

IP addresses are assigned to a computer in one of two basic methods: the address is assigned automatically by the device "in charge" of the network (in your case, the wifi hotspot router) or the address is set manually on the computer.

If the address is assigned automatically, the router is "smart" enough to assign a different address for everyone.  However, if your computer has a fixed or 'static' IP address assigned manually, it may conflict with an address assigned by the router to another computer.

You do not specify, so I'm going to assume that your computer is running WIndows XP...

    1. On your computer, open the network connections (start > run > ncpa.cpl > OK)
    2. Right-click on the icon for your wireless adapter and select Properties
    3. Click on the 'Général' tab, select "Protocol Internet (TCP/IP)" from the list of "this connection uses the following items" and click "Properties".
    4. Select the boxes for two on "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically"
    5. OK your way out.

This will not adversely affect your computer somehow.

If the two "automatic" settings were already selected, it is likely that your wireless adapter is managed by a utility provided by the manufacturer of your computer or your adapter wifi rather than Windows.  There should be a wifi icon in the system notification area (near the time display).  Click or right-click on it and see if you can access the menu of configuration settings or to determine at which it is useful.

  • Windows XP SP3: There is an IP address conflict with another system on the network.

As mentioned, I am under Windows XP SP3.  Starting around June 14, 2011, I get this error message: "There is an IP address conflict with another system on the network."  I didn't any problem access the internet, which is weird considering all the forums I've read the user has had problems with this.

I followed the steps to solving this problem.  I checked the IP addresses on all devices connected to my network. none match the computer, I get this message.  I tried refreshing and renew my address this computer's IP, but that has not solved the problem.  I've updated my modem drivers; who has not solved.  I checked the settings on my router but nothing.  I have turned off all devices in the House connected to the network, unplugged both the modem and the router, plugged the modem back in (anticipated for a constant signal), then plugged the router and gives him the time, but I got the message again.  I ran scans anti-virus and anti-malware, but neither picked up something.

I am out of resources in this regard.  I guess that something might be wrong with the router, but that doesn't seem right.  I had no problems with the router as I bought it a year ago, and as I mentioned there are no connectivity issues (always as fast as I'm willing to pay my provider).  Two things have popped up in my mind that could possibly impact this: all about 14, there was a Windows update that has pushed down and the message began not to burst, until, after downloading (but I have not had this same problem on other computers that have received these updates) , and there was a very, very brief power surge (second meaning) in the House around the 16th which caused no (to my knowledge) do anything stop but not a hand a few clocks.  Thank for any help with this!

No. except if you must move the computer to another network or if you are not actually that responsible for the network.

As long as you are in charge of your network, you can configure your router to reserve an IP for your machine OR set up so that the DHCP range is, for example, all the IP addresses above to x.x.x.100 and you you give an IP address below that (say x.x.x.99).

In the first case, you let your computer configured as DHCP - your router just recognize it and gives this machine (and only this machine) reserved IP address.  For the latter, need to change the settings in Windows after changing your router so the DHCP range does not interfere with the static IP address range.  I would say that the latter is more likely to be a problem than the first, especially if there is a chance that this machine moves from one network to the other.

Personally, I use the booking method on my home network.  In this way my laptop, iPad, etc. all get a given IP address every time (an I know) and I have to set up the real device special somehow.
