internet connection sharing by using the switch

I want to share the internet connection using the ethernet switch. the process is the dsl connection to connect to the switch, and then using the ethernet cable, I connect to the computer 1 & 2. the problem is when there is internet connection for comp 1, comp 2 did not and vice versa

This is because you do not need a 'Switch' - instead, you need a "router".

A router provides a NAT (NAT) function that will allow more than one device share an Ethernet connection.  If you wish, you can connect a switch out of your router, but cannot connect a switch directly to a DSL modem and expect it to work for multiple devices.

  • Internet connection sharing: "Bluetooth network connection" does not appear in the list "Home Networking connection."

    Hello.

With Windows 7, I want to share the network connection Wi - Fi with Bluetooth through PAN (Personal Area Network).

When there are several connections in addition to Bluetooth after opening "Share" tab, I see these connections in the "Home Networking connection" list, but there is no Bluetooth. Then, when there is no connection in addition to Bluetooth which I can share with, there is no tab "share."

As I assume there should be means to somehow add "Bluetooth Network Connection" to a list of connections that can be internet shared with.

Also, when I tried to fix this problem manually, other questions are raised:

    • There is really no Thoubleshooting guide for Internet connection sharing in Windows 7? I see this document on the site "Microsoft Support" for Windows 98SE, Windows XP - but not Vista and 7.

  • Problem to create the Internet connection sharing between Windows XP and Windows Vista.

Original title: Internet connection sharing between Windows XP and Windows Vista.

    Hello

Recently, I plugged a laptop running Windows XP to a desktop computer running Windows Vista using a standard Ethernet cable with the intention of use sharing of Internet connection. The notebook contains a wireless connection that I've routed to the office via the cable said.  While the initial phase of installation went well (I was too lazy to do it manually, so I just used the Wizard "Set up a home or small business network" Windows XP,) I had to turn off the host computer to install a program. When I tried to set up ICS again, I couldn't connect to the Internet by using ICS. After this failure, I tried to configure the properties of TC/IPv4 (IP, gateway by default, etc.) manually, but I still couldn't run.  I am able to access the shared host PC and client files. It seems to me that some service essential to the proper functioning of the ICS may be disabled in some way, but it's just speculation, as I have no evidence of such a service. Help would be most appreciated.

    Thank you

    FG-man

I tried this before using a laptop to share internet with my 360.  problem is there was Nat on the router, and it is in contradiction with the ics.

Anyway long story short I did some research on the Internet and discovered that if you're behind a router ICS will be confllict with her, as ICS also does routing. a much better option is to "bridge the conections ' on the laptop.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/hnw_bridge_install.mspx?mfr=true

If you go this route, you need to set a static ip address for the office,

Either that or if you want to continue using ICS put the laptop in the DMZ in the router may help, but it will be less secure.

Hope that this helped good luck

  • problem with Internet connection sharing, error: connection ad - hoc has "no internet access" on the cell phone of the customer

Original title: problem with Internet connection sharing

my laptop running on Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 (this one has access to the internet by using the dial-up modem and will to act as a sharer of internet connection or as a host) and the client computer runs on Windows 7 Starter

in a first step, I try internet connection sharing, I've set up an ad hoc network and I just changed my setting modem dial-up on the sharing tab, of course what I change, it of 'Allow an other network users to connect through this computer internet connection' and choose the on Home Networking connection wireless network connection , then my mobile client to connect to a special that I created and portable client connected to the internet via ICS
then the problem came when I restart my laptop. When I tried to use ICS once again, my customer laptop really takes a long time to connect, he continues saying 'identification' side host and client. and after that "identify" is complete, it says ad - hoc connection, I create has "no network".
so, I'm a person answer in this forum
' Obtain an IP address automatically is the wrong setting on the Ethernet connection. "  To return to the sharing tab and unshare the wireless connection.  Close all windows network, and then open them and re - share the wireless connection.  Who must configure IPv4 for the Ethernet connection properties for:

    IP address: 192.168.0.1
    Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
    Default gateway: no
    "DNS server: none.

I put this on my laptop of the host, and and I put the IP address on my laptop customer in 192.168.0.2 with the same default gateway as my portable computer host IP
and made some progress in this case, when I try to connect host and the client is no longer to 'identify' phase, immediately connected laptop both but my mobile client can not connect to the internet and displays "No Internet access" on the ad hoc network, I have create

I tried a lot of things but always completed my mobile client can not connect to the internet and displays the message "no Internet access.

What makes me confuse is first, I try to share the internet connection everything works like a charm, I set up an ad hoc network, and then change the setting on my modem dial-up so he can share the internet connection, and voila, computer laptop client connected to the internet. I change even not all IP settings
But why after I restart my PC, this problem comes...

  • By using internet connection sharing

I'm having a problem using ICS.  It used to work perfectly, but then I had to reinstall vista and use my restore disks, and it has not worked since.  That's what I'm trying to do.  I'm taking a wireless internet signal coming from my router and it sends through my LAN port for the computer of my son, who does not have a receiver wireless on his computer.  This used to work properly, but don't work no more... That's what I've done so far:

I turned on ICS on my wireless connection.  I checked all the services I want to be able to have the connection (http, ftp, telnet, etc.).  I turned "detect settings ip automatically' on my son's computer.  I have a crossover cable from my computer to my son (that's what I used before too).  I don't know what happens wrong... someone has any ideas?  Please help :)

  • Bluetooth network and Internet connection sharing problem

I am putting in place a network via Bluetooth between two computers later with Toshiba Stack installed and to share the Internet connection with the second computer.

On the computer of trees I put Internet connection sharing, and for this reason, it automatically assigns addresses TCP/IP for the Bluetooth Personal Area network (192.168.0.1).
On computer 2, I put everything to get it automatically. Firewall (Kaspersky) disabled.

When I connect 2 Bluetooth devices, everything looks fine, the 2nd automatically gets the IP address, I can ping both computers and Internet works also on the 2nd computer, for a few seconds! After that, it appears as the 2nd computer is disconnected from the network... what could be the problem?

In the case of the observer under the System tab, I found information like these:
    2nd comp:
The system has detected that the network \DEVICE\TCPIP_{E44D18EB-91F5-4 adapter has been connected to the network and launched a normal operation via the network card.

The browser has forced an election on network \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{E44D18EB-... because a master browser was stopped.

and the 1st model also appears this:
The system has detected that the network Bluetooth adapter... Area Network - Packet Scheduler Miniport has been disconnected from the network, and the network adapter configuration has been released. If the network adapter was not disconnected, this may indicate that it has malfunctioned. Please contact your vendor for updated drivers.

In your case, I would look at the following Web site:
    http://APS.toshiba-tro.de/Bluetooth/redirect.php?page=pages/HOWTO.html
    It lists the following document:
"Internet on PDA via PAN using Notepad as a gateway."
In your case, the PDA is another laptop, but the procedure should be very similar.
I would check the firewall settings later if it still does not work.

  • ICS: Internet connection sharing ERROR while allowing IP.

    Hi all

My "Netgear" router gives the IP Address of the gateway 192.168.0.1 and my laptop is connected via a wireless connection. When I turn on my connection sharing wireless internet connection, windows xp tells me with the message below:

"When Internet connection sharing is enabled, your LAN adapter will be on use the 192.168.0.1 IP address." Your computer may lose connectivity with other computers on your network. If these other computers have static IP addresses, you must set them to obtain their IP addresses automatically.
"Are you sure you want to enable Internet connection sharing?"

When I press 'Yes', it gives me an error:

"An error occurred while Internet connection sharing was being enabled.

Internet connection sharing cannot be enabled.
A LAN connection is already configured with the IP address that is required for automatic IP addressing.

My question is, if we can configure ICS service to activate other windows of the IP ADDRESS is required to apply?

Thanks in advance for your help...

I'm sorry, but ICS is completely inflexible and does not change its LAN IP address.

The settings that you found are for something else: allowing unsolicited Internet connection requests to pass through the firewall on the ICS computer to a client computer.

Change the address LAN IP of the router.  It is easy to do and will solve the problem.

  • Problem with Vista and XP computers Internet connection sharing.

I have a host computer running Windows XP service pack 3, with an of Virgin Mobile Broadband2Go modem and a laptop computer with Vista. The host computer is connected to a Microsoft MN - 700 via a CAT5 network cable. The laptop is connected via a wireless connection. I'm sharing the Broadband2Go internet connection by using Internet connection sharing. I enabled sharing on the network, on the host computer connection. But the laptop does not connect to the internet. I can ping the host of the laptop, but cannot ping the laptop computer from the host. I have tried everything I can think of, to get the job of network. He worked, until Thursday. Thursday, there is some automatic updates installed on the host computer. They have been updated for security. I don't know if updates of security would have affected the network or not. All helkp would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Oscar

It is a facility that is complicated, because the host computer and the MN-700 can act as routers and DHCP servers, making it uncertain given the laptop its TCP/IP configuration.  Here are two ways to make it work:

    • Use the MN-700 as a router: connect the host computer to the "Modem" port of the MN-700.  To do this, interface LAN of the MN - 700 must have an IP address in a different subnet from the 192.168.0.x subnet that uses ICS.  The laptop will be able to ping on the host, but the host will not be able to ping from the laptop.

    or:

    • Use the MN-700 as a point of access only, not as a router: connect to the host computer to one of the MN-700 Ethernet ports and disable the DHCP server integrated of the MN-700.  Both computers should be able to ping each other.
