• Only https links work. Never installed security software. Never messed with the settings of internet connection. Refreshed Firefox. No joy.

  Firefox worked like a dream for as long as I got - until two days ago.
  It suddenly stopped linking to http sites. Still works for https sites, however.
  This problem does not exist in Safari (but I prefer Firefox!).

• Internet connection fast but slow to load web pages

  I have a relatively fast internet connection: speed download - 60.5 Mbps; Download Speed - 6 Mbps.

  I get the same results on my MacBook Pro running on the wifi and my iMac which is directly connected to the Ether. On the iMac, however, it is now holding always load web pages.

  I've read elsewhere that changing the DNS can eliminate some of these problems.  All this is a little above my pay grade.

  I know just enough to make me stupid, but I am a good listener and I can follow directions well enough.  Any help would be most appreciated!

• Firefox doesn't load the URLS of sites window, but will charge by search engine

  Firefox will not load any site that I type in the URL window. It loads any location of the tile to start or Google search results page. But never directly.

  The problem started a week ago.

  The problem persists in safe mode. I have a few extensions and plug-ins (No Add ons) but I have not installed new in the last year.

  I uninstalled it and installed a clean place. I did a refresh. Hardware accelerator is disabled. The only thing I have not tried is to create a new profile.

  I'm running Win 7 Ultimate 64 (although Mozilla is x 86).

  My security system is provided by Zone Alarm, but it has been the case for at least five years and never had a problem before.

  I found the problem. It's the ad block plus 2.0. I just noticed that I was disabling each of them was. I noticed in Firefox that the envelopes have disappeared! • BEFSR41 works, but Setup does not load

  Weird problem.

  I have two PC hooked up to the same router, a BEFSR41. Both connect to internet just fine. You can access the page of configuration/admin to the router fine. On the other, however, the router asks you a user name and p/w, but the configuration screen never loads. I get the message "Loading" eternal, but it never gets there.

  Attempted fixes:

  Factory reset

  Firmware update

  Reinstall the NETWORK card

  Pass the CAT5 cable

  Switch port

  Cycle of modem, router and power PC

  Disable the firewall and AV

  Tried two different browsers

  Login ID and p/w is not incorrect, without typos. I done this 20 times less than today.

  I am writing to the PC with the question, while there are of course traffic and communication with the router. And I'll say it again, I get to the login screen every time. If I walk through the room and the connection on the 2nd PC, it works very well and I can't acess all the configuration screens.

  I know how to reconnect to the internet, but it forces me to diagnose a repair my connection. " repair bar will fill up to half way and go to a new screen solution that shows more 'solutions' and a "reset wireless adapter" button which I click. the remedy bar will fill and then display windows can not solve the problem and go for help. I then manually disconnect from the wireless network and my computer will automatically reconnect to the network and to the internet. It takes about five minutes to fix, but it happens so often that it is getting boring. The process will not work if I only to reset the ip address and then disconnect from the network, only to reset the wireless adapter and then disconnect, or just disconnect from the network and reconnect.   Have you tested the internet connection with fresh preinstalled system?
  I mean it is possible that some software / updates received or installed in the past it would affect.

  Hi I had a problem with my internet connection under windows 8. I got 2 networks, public and private, and I can't delete one of them. I tried turning power on/off (network location) sharing, to update/reinstall all drivers and windows updates. If I unplug the cable, connection Wi - Fi works very well. But when the cable is connected, wifi says connected, but does job and cable has limited access. If I turn off wifi, cable always says no internet access.   Have you tried to connect and to prove your speed more than once? I mean we´re to talk about 4 difference Kbps (!) on a dial-up connection! So I suggest you to watch and prove your speed again and again, because there may be various reasons that a dial-up connection can be slow.
