Internet shortcut Shell Extension DLL

What is "Internet shortcut Shell Extension DLL? Sometimes when I try to install a new program, I get the message: "How do you want to open this file? Then, it shows a screen with the message "Internet shortcut Shell Extension DLL." But when I click it, nothing happens. I'm on Windows 8 with the classic interface installed and using Internet Explorer 10 as my program on the internet. My current problem is to try to install the free Easeus Todo Backup software.

Please see the example link that might be useful below

• How to import internet shortcuts?

I'll put up a new laptop after a HARD disk crash. I copied in all of my data from a backup HD Ext. I have my old IE 'Favorites', registered in records as "internet shortcuts" on my new C drive.

Please, how do these favorites / bookmarks in FireFox?

I've read elsewhere that I first need to import them in IE, but the method described seems to only allow the import of a file at a time. I have c 600 bookmarks.

I use Win7 Home Premium and Firefox 10.0.01. I got IE9 on this computer.

Thank you

If you have bookmarks of IE with a .url file extension then you will need to copy in the Favorites folder in your Windows user account to see IE then and probably Firefox as well if you want to import IE Favorites.

Whenever I have click on the Windows Explorer navigation pane folder, Windows Explorer to crash and restart. From the web to research, I learned to use ShellExView shell extension which was responsible for finding. A process of elimination I found that disabling the following shell extension corrected the problem:

Extension name: Microsoft NVIDIA CPL Context Menu Extension
Type: Context Menu
Description: NVIDIA Display Shell Extension
Product name: NVIDIA shell Extensions
Company: NVIDIA Corporation
File name: C:\windows\system32\nvshext.dll

• Had to reinstall C_PsdRsDll. Gets the error: PSD Shell Extension < C_PsdRsDll >...

How can I 'reinstall' C_PsdRsDll? My problem started with Windows XP Pro and when I used PC Mover to transfer my data and applications of my old laptop Toshiba Tecra M5 to my new laptop Tecra Z40 migrated to Windows 7 Pro (32 bit). The problem occurs more often when I try to open an item from the desktop as the basket or the control panel. I get an alert that the PSD "Shell Extension ...". ' is unavailable or some such drivel. After selecting the OK button, the alert disappears and the item opens.

If the fix is to tinker with the records, I'll tell you from the start that I am a little savvy, but a technical whimp. If I keystroke instructions, I can do almost anything. If I get an order to enter number 1432 in the whosit, then exit, I have a deep problem, if I don't know what who or where the whosit is and/or how to get out! So please be gentle and welcoming of my ignorance with any informative responses!

When / if I get this problem solved, I'll ask for help to solve a new problem that arises today involving MSVCR80.dll and his mysterious disappearance.

Problem has been solved! I should have done more research before asking my question. The problem has been eliminated by the uninstall of a program called Infineon TPM. It was a remnant app of Hewlett Packard who had damaged. Apparently, it is not uncommon for this to happen.

• ShowWindow enter an infinite loop when you try to open a subfolder of a file system shell extension

Hi all,

I've implemented a file system shell extension. Everything works fine, but the next case: the user tries to open a subfolder of the extended file system (double clicking on its icon, for example), but an error is detected. When the ShowWindow is called to display the error message, the thread enters an infinite loop within the ShowWindow function.

It seems that the shell access mode when double click to open a subfolder which prohibits the display of new windows.

Have someone faced this situation? Can anyone give me a suggestion in order to investigate in the right direction?

I thank very you much.

Hello

I discovered the reason for the behavior represented: I created the message window as a child of the display window. At the opening of the subfolder view window becomes disabled, which also affect the child window. Definition of the parent to NULL window I solved the problem.
