• Need to pull the inventory since the Profile Manager

  We have 125 + ipad devices in the Profile Manager.  I would like to export the name ipad, carrier no_serie and cell phones and other cell Info for all devices in a text or CSV file.  I can go to the details of each instrument section and manually search each of them, but it's tedious.

  There must be a way to use the Profile Manager to help inventory devices, otherwise it must be a critical feature added.

  This can be done.  You will need to query the database directly.  Try this:

  1: connect to the database (do this on the server running the Profile Manager)

  sudo psql - U _devicemgr d devicemgr_v2m0 h/Library/Server/ProfileManager/Config/var/PostgreSQL

  2: you will be asked your admin password.  You will not see what you type.  When you're finished, press return.

  3: you'll be in the interactive shell and get a prompt as follows:

  psql (9.3.9)

  Help, type "help".

  4: Congratulations, you have connected to the database.  We start to dig down and find out what is stored in there.

  5: to list databases, use this command (it's a lowercase L):

  \l

  6: you should see a result that looks like the following:

  7: the database of interest is called devicemgr_v2m0.  In order to interact with it, we must select the it.  To select a database, use this command:

  \c devicemgr_v2m0;

  8: If you have changed successfully, you should see this notification.

  You are now connected to the database "devicemgr_v2m0" as user "_devicemgr".

  9: to display all tables in the database, by using this command:

  \dt

  10: in the list, you will see a few tables of interest.  For example, devices, device_groups, vpp_products, xsan_networks, etc.  To see what is stored inside these tables, use the following command:

  Select * from devices;

  11: change devices to another the table name if you want to discover the other tables.

  12: now get what you want.  Here are two example queries:

  Select "DeviceName", "SerialNumber" of devices;

  Select "DeviceName", last_checkin_time of devices;

  13: bind the columns that you want to collect to get your report.

  14: empty the results to a text file.

  15: when you have finished, exit the interactive with shell

• My Amazon seller account won't 'save' my sorting preferences, Amazon inventory told to clear the cache, but still does not work.

  I had Amazon 'support seller' looking at this matter for two weeks. In my seller account... I can't 'save' preferences to sort my inventory, resulting in a BIG mess trying new items etc the list. I can fix on my husbands pc, then they said it's on my end. They suggested that empty cache... I did... until I contacted them never. Duh! However... doesn't always work and support seller Amazon is almost entirely in India... I am tired. I need to be able to work. I can't keep trying to work like this.

  I'm changing the inventory number in the bios on a 9300.  My company has grown from 9100's which allow you to change, but now it appears greyed out where you cannot change it.  It is important for the way we have these settings in our corporate environment.  Anyone have any ideas?

  This method works on the HP 6200 Pro and HP 8200 Elite desktop PC:

  After entering the Setup by pressing the F10 key, press on Ctrl + A to open additional fields in the security > system menu IDs.

  Enter the serial number of your PC inventory and serial number of chassis number.

  Save the changes then and once when you exit the BIOS.

  I had a few problems. How do I obtain integrated HP in order to make a return of new products and help give tickets to future products?

  I ask this question for several reasons.

  1 HP Source - they have no products in stock in mobile work stations with the exception of eltiepads and this does not include accessories. Basically, I just can't give customers the best experience with HP products. How can I get HP for operating inventory more in its warehouses in North America? 10-15 business days from China is simply too long.

  Another example, why the jacket of productivity promotion is available but so much back ordered(-246), I essentially have to buy the product at full price to get it to my client. Don't you think you should withdraw the special offer if you don't fill it within a reasonable time or give credits on the non-promo for the goodwill of the customer?

  Another example, how long does take to update the HP Source when a new SKU is offered? In my mind, I would have put references to day first in the system and then announce it on the ground. For example, HP Elitepad sleeves.

  2. more products convincing. Why consumer groups becomes the s 2-n-1? I would sell those corporate clients. Why the revolution has not made within a 2-n-1? This product is so expensive. I would recommend a low end 8770w before the revolution. The revolution didn't even a discreet graphics card!

  Why HP still offers dial up 56 k/v.90 connections to the PSTN with their mobile workstations?

  About the screen, why wasn't the elitepad designed to work with this product? It is an ideal situation. Laptops how have you had where the display of the monitor/a failed, but the computer/CPU was still good? This is a no-brainer... you need to apply more common sense in the development of products.

  As a reseller, there is nothing that prevents you from working with HP Source, Ingram, Tech, Synnex and D & H at the time and buying where it makes sense based on the price and inventory.
  
  In truth, Source of HP does not almost as many stock on site from what I've seen from the chain of distribution. And I also think that each Distributor is different as to which specific SKU in stock - many times it will be a SKU which is well stocked with a distinct but no where to be found elsewhere.

  the Dell Support told me last Tuesday that there is a new KB 2077641 patch and a patch (5.1 ESXi) VMware for IMO 2.1.23 to 2.1.0.27 unit.

  I installed the patches Friday and now it seems that everything works fine.

  Our Organization has standardized host in any of the company names, but the names used in the inventory of VMware are not standardized and sometimes have duplicate names. Is there a way to force Foglight to use the host name of the system against the name of the inventory? For example, when I go to the dashboard virtual environment and watch VM, I would like to see the host name, not the name provided by the inventory. Is it possible to do this?

  We use Foglight for virtualization 6.8. Thank you!

  There is, unfortunately, not an easy way to do it, because we use the full name VM very strongly and it is hard-coded.  You still looking for a machine by FQDN/NETBIOS name and pass to the virtual machine like that.

• OME does not receive details of the inventory and the State for some devices

  OME does not receive the details of the inventory and the State for some servers.

  For example when looking at one of our PowerEdge R620s is all that presents itself:

  

  iDRAC firmware and LCC is updated (version 2.21.21.21 is installed.)

  I reset the iDRAC, and that did not help.  I have no problem with most of the other R620s in the same range of discovery.

  I deleted the object to OME and re-discovered twice over the past week it but did not help.

  Thanks for the details in the post.

  Wanted to check what version of OME use you - OME 2.1?

  If so, this behavior with ws - man discovery could potentially due to expiry of certificate on this device. You can launch the iDRAC user interface and confirm the certificate information.

  2.1 the OME, the WS - Man communication component is updated. The most recent component does not communicate with the device if that device has been exceeded in the certificate.

  Sslresetcfg running via racadm will reset the certificate. For details and solution, see same threadhttp://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/systems-management/f/4494/t/19653767 .

• Foglight v6 - FaultException: impossible to extract the data of inventory of the collector

  After having modernized our virtual center to V4, the foglight fails to report all the details and only has the following alert:
  "FaultException: impossible to extract the data of inventory of the collector: the parameter name cannot be null or an empty string."
  ' Parameter name: key to make sure the collection agent service is running.
  If anyone else has had this problem and how to solve?

  Hi Joviyach,
  I logged a call with Vizioncore and the resolution is as follows:
  the problem you have is related to a VMware problem experienced during the upgrade to vSphere 4.0 as detailed in: kb.vmware.com/.../search.do
  Bascially, you must run a SQL command of your Virtual Center via MS SQL Management Studio that will identify one or more VMs who have a missing entry in the VPX_VIRTUAL_SCSICONTROLLER table. Once this information is determined that you would follow the steps 2 to 6 of the reolution... basically remove these virtual machines of the inventory and adding them back.
  When these steps are complete, you will re-start the vFoglight Collector of Vmware and Vmware vFoglight connector services.

  If you mean the discovery process, you'd by unmanaging all devices by accessing «Management» :-> "Unmanage Devices" and discovery. Hope that answers the question
