Inverse masking in photoshop

I have a ton of cutting to do, all my clipping paths in photoshop are reversed, how can I fix it, never use to be like this, I import into indesign and must reverse, is not a problem for me, but others who do not know how to do this are confused! I can't seem to access her "subtract from selection" in the choice of paths are popping up, do not know if this has something to do with it.

Hi Yvonnep,

First, select your path (use the direct Selection tool)

Then, everything you have to do is to access the tool that created the path (IE your pen tool) and in the options at the top bar on the very good is the different types of paths that you create. Make sure that the first box is enabled (you have probably 2nd one selected). This is not the choice that has been the problem, sound that your path itself was an inverse.

  • How to create a clipping mask in photoshop touch?

I want to be that lines with a photo showing through it, like a window to the text. I think I need to create a clipping mask. I can do it in photoshop touch? If so, how?

    Hi Sashakit,

In Photoshop, you would definitely be able to use a clipping mask, you have the right idea. There is no function of masking in Photoshop Touch, but I found a way to get the same effect you!

    1. open the image you want to show through the text.

2 choose the menu " more ' (& symbol) and choose the option text.

3 type the word or the sentence and fix it where you would like to show through. Choice of black or white for the color is the easiest to see, but a lot no matter what color you choose.

4 use the Magic Wand selection tool and do not forget to click on the additive . When you tap each letter, it will be a group of pieces for you chose the additive option.

5 now that your letters are selected, make sure that you type on the bottom layer (with your photo). The selection must always remain active.

6 choose the menu with the pencil icon and choose extract... This will delete everything outside your current selection.

7 now you can delete the layer with the text on this subject or replace invisible to see your new picture!

I hope this helps. See you soon!

  • Using the layer mask in Photoshop CC 2015?

    Hello!

I'm trying to iron out some unsightly underarm in Photoshop CC 2015.

I duplicated the layer and applied Surface blur.

I clicked on the layer of the dup, while pressing option (using a Mac) to create a layer mask where I could brush the blur in but nothing happens. What I'm missing here?

    Thank you!

  • Mask problem Photoshop CC

    Hello world

I had a problem when I paint on the alpha channel. When I paint with a black color, the image is still slightly visible. All opacity settings are on 100%... It is really strange, I never get this before, I use PS for 10 years...

    What do you think?

I don't understand, I have a few bugs with Photoshop CC. A lot of problem with layer with mask too. The mask to stay in the same place when I use the tool move... And the string is visible between the layer and mask...

The previous PS are really better than the CC collection...

    Thank you.

  • Remove the vector mask in Photoshop CC fill layer

I use Photoshop CC and I can not remove, disable or rasterize a vector mask that is applied to a layer of fill or gradient.

    Am I missing something?

Delete the vector mask is to press the keys Alt + Ctrl (Option + Cmd) and

slide the bottom of the icon/pattern/gradient fill layer in the layers panel to the trash can at the bottom of the layers panel.

You can disable the "vector mask" Shift clicking the path icon in the properties panel.

A way to replicate the pixelation is a vector mask Ctrl (Cmd) click on the shape layer icon in the Panel layers, add a

layer mask and then delete the vector mask as described above.

  • How to make a mask in Photoshop Touch?

Is there a way to hide the parts of images in Photoshop Touch?

Depends on the purpose. If you are looking, say, to make a mask of adjustment, you can do that. However, the masks are used to help refine the elements such as selections. (For example, to make a selection, and then press the selection button options (icon fourth from the top on the left) and choose "Refine Edge.")

If you want to adjust the parameters like saturation or levels, try to duplicate the layer and then use Mode set the Brush tool on 'Effect' rather than 'Paint' and choose the desired effect. (Or just use the icons settings or effects to change the entire layer or selections on a layer).

  • How to make a mask in Photoshop CS3?

I am very NEW to Adobe Photo Shop and I am trying to create a mask and have problems with the lasso selection and the Quick Selection tool. I read help with layers and masks and it seems quite simple: select the part you want and add or subtract to make the mask.  My problem is in the 'selection '.  I can not select only the part that I selected. I want to choose the high horizon of trees line and the bottom of the image.  But, after I saw the tops of the trees and try "lasso" the rest of the image, it snaps back up towards the top and I'm left with about 4 mm x 30 mm lassoed (instead of 30 x 30 mm).  I also tried to use the 'Quick Selection' tool and had better results with it, but I'm still left with a very bad tree line. Does just convenient?

It takes much more than a simple practice. There the tools and tricks of the trade.

I don't know what you do to get your selection of 'break' as you describe, but I would hazard to guess that the lasso tool is not the selection tool, you need to use in the first place. The quick selection tool is probably a better choice, but you don't need to make a selection that is perfect in the beginning. This is just the beginning.

  • How can inversion mask, leaving the head of reading on screen - I fix it?

I created a mask using the effect of the Ellipse on the first. I want to create a ticker of news but only in a certain area of the screen that I did. The red rectangle below shows where I want the ticker to be, the problem is that in the middle of the screen, there is a circle head. It appeared when I pressed "reverse" on the mask and not go away, unless I have remove the reversal. I don't want to do that because it is effect I want to achieve. (It remains on the video after export, I tested). So I was wondering what I can do to get rid of the circle without losing the news ticker in the banner on the left.

  • Difficulty to make a clipping mask in Photoshop

    I've implemented the following:

    Screen Shot 2014-05-10 at 2.50.18 PM.png

I would like to make a clipping mask of all of the objects above the 'text' layer (so that all the stuff from the layers above applies only to the letters), but I'm fighting. On the one hand, when I go to separate 'Group 1' it changes the complexion of the graphics and makes it darker for a reason any. Also, when I merge the layers above a 'text' I get the following:

    Screen Shot 2014-05-10 at 3.50.34 PM.png

Someone knows how to do this?

    NM, I found the answer:

    • Place all layers above a 'text' in a group (it is acceptable to nest groups).
    • CTL/Cmd-click on the thumbnail of the layers of 'Text' Panel to load as a selection.
    • With your new 'master group' targeted, click on the "New layer mask" icon in the layers panel.

This will create a layer mask on the group to which applies the content group only for the non-transparent pixels on the text layer, which I think is what you're trying to do.

    Hiya.

I'm looking for something in Illustrator that would allow me to do the equivalent of what a "select inverse" then delete, or would a "layer mask" in Photoshop. I haved tried various combinations of clipping mask and dedicated way without any acceptable results.

I was given this file and it's messy. I am wanting to delete all points except those on top of the layer gradiented.  (as this second picture).

    help with clipping mask 2.PNG

There is no living text. Currently, gradiented layer is separated the two layers and it has a line on that. Each wee point is its own form now too.

When I tried clipping or transparent traces or various pathfinder effects masks I ended with results that look like this:

    help with clipping mask 3.PNG

I am so at a loss for what to do. I tried moving layers around - which is at the top, which is located on the bottom. I tried to remove the red and black shadow-ish layers below; all sorts of other miscellanopus and so forth as well.

Any help would be simply amazing!

    1. Select all tasks and 'group '.
    2. Select the gradient objects and "copy".
    3. Stick in front of the Group Spot
    4. Make work path transparent "(Cmd/Ctrl + 8)"
    5. Small group composed of path and tasks
    6. Take the clipping mask (Cmd/Ctrl + 7)
  • Masking of the plugin to look like Photoshop?

Y at - it no pluging out there who give Indesign the same type of masking that Photoshop has.? Or, how to hide eventually is possible in Indesign (CS4)?

    Thanks in advance

    Robert,

It is indeed a complex mask and personally I would do this part of the project in Photoshop (and I see no reason not to set the name as a text layer in Photoshop unless you do a custom kerning), then save it as a PDP (Photoshop PDF) to keep the direct type.

This does not mean that you can not do this by using a structure "sandwich" in ID - if you create the mask in Photoshop, you can use it in ID - but I don't see an easy way to get the mask of the right in Photoshop without going through the type as a reference, so why abandon it once you have it in the image? As a PDP with included type, it becomes a single unit that is easily manipulated.

The previous instructions were designed to help you understand the process of using the image layers to show or hide certain elements in InDesign, not to be a warrant that this is the best method for a particular job. For example if you knew that you wanted some fronds to cover the type and were not concerned with the trunks, which crosses, a hidden layer Slingshot in Photoshop allows to manipulate the type to identity card so that the sling him depend on the type of size and placement. This is the precise nature of the need the trunk to go strictly by the letter which would send me to Photoshop for all.

I guess this reinforces you apply masking, but personally, I don't like the trend toward applications of swiss army knife. InDesign is really good for making layout, and Photoshop is really good to make the manipulation of pixels. If you have included all this functionality in both programs, I think they would become unweildy. How many times have you actually want to do this kind of masking directly in a page layout? Would you give speed in other areas to get?
