Invocation of the App: open the EML file in email Viewer?

Hello

Is it possible to invoke the email app to display an EML file?

I have an EML attachment, I want the user to click and watch by the invocation.

Thank you!

Not sure on a eml file, but you can call the HTML browser...

    On my office workstation (Windows Server 2008 R2), I use Outlook 2010 to network and business-related emails.  I installed Live Mail 2011 for my personal mail (hotmail, gmail, yahoo, etc) in order to keep it separate and open it only once or twice a day.  I said to Live Mail was not the client by default, but all 60 seconds or so he tries to assign the .eml file type to itself in any case (even if it is not running).  I've got WinPatrol keeping my setup, but I don't want to say no to him, "do not allow this change" once per minute.  How can I send live to accept his secondary position and stop trying to run away with the .eml file type?

    original title: let my Filetype Alone!

    There is no default program to manage the eml file type in Server 2008 R2, and is not one that is recognized by Outlook.  I would suggest you go ahead and set the eml file type opened by WLM under control panel | Default programs.  Then you can leave it alone, I hope.  If not, then ask in the forum here WLM: www.windowslivehelp.com

    Hello

    ·          What program did you use to back up files?

    Here are two ways to restore the saved messages:

    Step 1: Before you start Windows Mail, copy the folder saved in C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows mail storage folder.

    Step 2: Start Windows Mail and import messages in the backup storage folder.

  • Opening of .eml files

    I'm new to Apple, I just got a MacBook Air.

    I need to access the emails work record in a system online Outlook, emails appear as .msg files, these will be opened using the Winmail.dat files viewer but attachments in emails are the .eml files, I can't open these. Viewer files Winmail.dat says I must upgrade to premium Winmail.dat to open the attachments, I tried this (cost £8), but it does not open this file of type of.eml.

    I look like I know what I'm talking about, but I have not, could someone help an Apple user ignoring it please.

    In short, I want to open attachments of .eml .msg files

    Thank you

    Colin

    It seems completely illogical that someone had mixed the .msg, .eml files and.

    As you say .msg is the messaging format used by Outlook, .eml is a format of different e-mail used by a variety of other e-mail programs, including Apple Mail on Mac. What you need to do is first to open the .msg tool file, then Save the attachments as .eml files. Then you can open the backup copy of the .eml files using Apple Mail.

    Note: Apple Mail must have been configured with an e-mail account, but it could be 'turned off '.

    For what its worth I use this tool to open *.msg files on a Mac. http://www.45rpmsoftware.com/mailraider.php

    I can't open the .eml files that come in my Live Mail to a friend. I have previously saved as .mht files in the past, but it doesn't now. I use Windows 7 and I want to be able to open these files without all the trouble I had.  Any help is appreciated!

    It is impossible to know what kind of program created the file.

  • Cannot open the .eml files in Explorer windows except for Windows Live Mail

    In Windows XP, I could download the files of .eml Windows Live Mail on my computer and then open them from almost anywhere on my computer. In Windows 7, I can only open these files in Windows Live Mail. I have created an association between the 2, but I can not open files with the exception of Windows Live Mail. How can I change this?

    Simple design flaw. Simple solution - but he just buried by so many doors to Microsoft you idiots jump through.

    Follow these steps:

    I found the solution: Set Window Live Mail (WLM) defaults for EML files in Winodws 7:

    Panel--> programs-> set your default programs--> Windows Live Mail--> choose Defailts for this program. Now simply select .eml by checking the box. Select Save at the bottom and close.

    There you have it.

  • With the help of javax.mail.internet.MimeMessage etc. to create the EML file

    Hello

    I have e-mail messages stored in a MySQL database and their attachments stored in base64 encoded text.  I try to perform a loop over a query and write properly formatted. EML file for each message.  I started from the borrowed code that was used to send messages IMAP, and I had no experience with Java, but I have since worked through some tutorials and I now know how to write and compile a simple class. But I always hurt (a lot!) to instantiate the correct Java objects in common sense and order in ColdFusion.

    Here is what kind of work, with problems, that I will detail below:

    < cfscript >
    clsSession = createObject ("Java", "javax.mail.Session");
    objProperties = createObject ("Java", "java.util.Properties");

    MSG = CreateObject ("Java", "javax.mail.internet.MimeMessage");
    MMP = CreateObject ("Java", "javax.mail.internet.MimeMultipart");
    MBP = CreateObject ("Java", "javax.mail.internet.MimeBodyPart");
    objRecipientType = CreateObject ("Java", "javax.mail.Message$ RecipientType");

    SDS = CreateObject ("Java", "javax.activation.FileDataSource");

    FSO = CreateObject ("Java", "java.io.FileOutputStream");
    OOS = CreateObject ("Java", "java.io.ObjectOutputStream");

    < / cfscript >

    < cfloop query = "getAllMessages" >

    <!-here I also do a 'qGetMsgAtts' query to get all attachments by getAllMessages.msg_id,

    and valueList (qGetMsgAtts.attIndex) to use to create a "msgAttachmentsList"-->

    <! - initialize a MimeMessage object java - >

    < cfscript >
    objProperties.init ();

    (I was actually setting properties here, but never got their and code works without them)

    objSession = clssession.getInstance (objProperties);

    Message
    Msg.init (objSession);
    msg.addFrom (add.parse (getAllMessages.msgFrom, false));
    msg.setReplyTo (add.parse (getAllMessages.msgFrom, false));
    msg.addRecipients (objRecipientType.TO, add.parse (getAllMessages.msgTo, false));

    Etc... no problem by setting the msg properties
    Increment = increment + 1;

    file name
    thisFileName = "#userId #_ #myFun.doCountToken (increment) # .eml"; my function doCountToken (integer) pads simply with zeroes.

    Parts of body of message
    MBP.init ();
    If (not msgIsHTML)

    {
    mbp.setText ("msgBody");
    }
    on the other
    {
    mbp.setContent (msgBody, "text/html");
    }
    mmp.addBodyPart (mbp);
    msg.setContent (mmp);

    If (len (msgAttachmentsList)) / / message has attachments
    try / / TRY TO ATTACH FILES

    {/ / qGetMsgAtts.colnames: msg_id(2), attIndex, fileName, fileMIMEType, fileMacCreator, fileMacType, fileContents}
    writeOutput (' spare part & msgAttachmentsList & "< br / > '");
    for (i = 1; i is listLen (msgAttachmentsList); i ++)
    {

    FDS.init (qGetMsgAtts.filecontents); WORK

    MBP.init ();

    mbp.setDataHandler (dh.init (SDS)); WORK

    mbp.setFileName (qGetMsgAtts.fileName [i]); WORK

    mbp.setContent (qGetMsgAtts.fileContents [i], qGetMsgAtts.fileMIMEType [i]); WORK

    mmp.addBodyPart (mbp);

    }
    msg.setContent (mmp);
    }
    }
    {} catch (everything except)
    writeOutput ("#excpt. # Error type attach content. #excpt. Message # #excpt. ("Retail # < br >");
    }

    aFile = thisFilePath & thisFileName;  PATH AND NAME
    FOS.init (afile); //
    OOS.init (FOS); //

    try / / WRITE THE FILE TO DISK

    {
    msg.writeTo (oos); ONLY WORKS IF MIME TYPE IS text/plain or text/html
    OOS. Flush();
    OOS. Close();
    FOS. Close();
    }
    {} catch (everything except)
    writeOutput ("#excpt. # Error type attach content. #excpt. Message # #excpt. ("Retail # < br >");
    OOS. Flush();
    OOS. Close();
    }

    < / cfscript >

    < / cfloop >

    But who wrote the correct number of files with the correct file names, there are 2 major problems at this stage:

    1. the content of the file on the disk seems to contain all messages. I do not understand why, I do msg.init () at the top of each loop. (The limit of the part also seems to be the same in all parts in each message.)
    2. I get an error like the following for any MIME type as text/plain or text/html:
      javax.activation.UnsupportedDataTypeException error to fix the content. No object DCH MIME type application/pdf no object MPC for the mimetype application/pdf

    I Googled it and I understand that I probably need to use something like
    bads = createObject ("java", "javax.mail.util.ByteArrayDataSource");
    Baos = createObject ("Java", "java.io.ByteArrayOutputStream");

    .. .somewhere in the mix, but all my attempts to instantiate objects have so far failed, usually with the "method not found" or "constructor not found."

    I hope that the explanation is logical. Someone at - it never to write using ColdFusion EML files? I will be eternally grateful for suggestions or extracts.

    myFileOutputStream = fos.init (emlFile); //
    myObjectOutputStream = oos.init (myFileOutputStream); //

    Hi Richard,

    It seems OK except for the part that writes to a file.  You only need a stream of output here, so just using FileOutputStream. I think ObjectOutputStream is most used for serialization and is probably what is causing the strange result here.

    VR;
    {
    emlFile = emlFilePath & thisFileName;
    outStream is CreateObject ("Java", "java.io.FileOutputStream") .init (emlFile);.
    newMessage.writeTo (outStream);

    }

    {
    writeOutput ("#excpt. # Error type attach content. #excpt. Message # #excpt. Detail #.
    ");

    only close the stream if it exists
    If (IsDefined ("outStream"))
    {
    outStream.close ();
    }
    }

  • OE6 in XP, compaction of the lost files all emails. Anyone else done this?

    Using Outlook Express 6 with Win XP I compacted files as requested. next time, I used email all old messages were gone and never seen again. I've never used 'compact the file"once again - it was a disaster. Anyone else done this?

    If you compact, you will always lose messages at any given time.

    Two reasons the most common for what you describe is disruption of the compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished), or bloated folders. More about that below.

    Why OE insists on compacting folders when I close it? :
    http://www.insideoe.com/FAQs/why.htm#compact

    Recovery methods:

    If you are running XP/SP3, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.

    To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.

    Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

    In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.

    Note: If you have new messages in the folder you are go restore, move them to a folder first created user, or they will be lost. They can be moved once the old posts have been restored.

    Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.

    Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.

    First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.

    If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.

    If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.

    If you have not then bak copies of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin:

    DBXpress run in extract disc Mode is the best chance to recover messages:
    http://www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/default.aspx

    A general warning to help avoid this in the future:

    Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.

    Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently.

  • cannot join the SkyDrive file to email?

    I sent a document as an attachment to an e-mail.  I created the email in a Surface email client application.

    The document was stored in the disc of sky.  But when I tried to attach it to the email, the mail attachment widget me failed to see or select the files in the sky player.  Why not?

    I so had to go to the file Explorer and copy from SkyDrive to a folder on the C drive, then I could attach to the email.

    Kind of defeated the purpose of having the SkyDrive.

    Is it possible that I missed something?

    Hi Benzman_29,

    When you touch the trombone, the list of files appears.  Top left, press the word 'File' with the menu drop-down arrow to display the list of other places.  From there you will need to scroll down a bit and you'll see the SkyDrive option.
    Note: You (not your email recipient) must have installed the SkyDrive app and have used it at least once so it is registered with the mail application.

    Save the photos to a folder on your hard drive and the photo

  • Attach the dropbox file to email

    Hi guys, does anyone know how I would go on a Dropbox file in an e-mail attachment?

    On my laptop, Dropbox stores files locally in c:/dropbox, but I can't find a similar place on my Xoom file manager.

    Can I ask people to Dropbox, but I suspect they will say ask me in a forum where the files to my device management system is known.

    Thanks in advance for the advice,

    JO

    Hi Jo,.

    I assume that you have installed on the Xoom from the Dropbox app? I think the older version used to save files locally, but the new version of the app works with your Dropbox directly (I think it's a little easier since there's a bit of a disconnect between what was on the shelf over the real Dropbox).

    If you do not have the Dropbox app, tap and hold the file > export > Gmail (or by e-mail, if the Setup program).
