Involuntary yellowish tint

I had used InDesign to create a draft of a book, containing more than a hundred pages and a number of photos, and it is in its final phase.

Forget that part.

My graphic designer replied to me, telling me that I had included a number of photos with a yellowish tint - their. I had used PS 5 to edit the images, with NO intention or knowledge of any yellowish quality to all files, including. So, I was surprised to read this. Fortunately, she had corrected all of them.

Who said having, what factors could cause this problem to occur?

Any idea is appreciated.

Hi Matthew,

I don't think you should feel that you made a mistake, if you followed the instructions. In fact, in the days preceding the characterization appropriate printing (using ICC profiles), it was common to "CMYK" just ask and users probably just go with the defaults in Photoshop, often without even knowing that a CMYK ICC profile was used.

I think it is inappropriate to expect (or even ask) someone producing images send CMYK files if there is no recommendation on the CMYK profile that should be used.

A CMYK icc profile is a definition of a certain type of device, a definition of how the color "ink on paper" are formed using certain amounts of each ink is all embedded in there, we call those who ink recipes.

If, as suggested by melissapiccone , it is a process of digital press (actually it's a big laser printer) used (very probably) it is true that you could probably send sRGB images and wait for the staff to printers to make the conversion to CMYK. It can even happen automatically in the RIP they use. Uneducated in the intricacies of profiles CMYK ICC, that they are, but to stay in business, they have established a workflow that gives acceptable results most of the time, and it must involve a CMYK ICC profile.

In an ideal world, any printer would be able to specify a CMYK profile, then a photographer, designer, creator of the image, edit or Editor could do the conversions and check that the intention of the image (the image of 'feel') is kept after this conversion to CMYK.

It may be useful to manually adjust very saturated colors from RGB sources before performing the conversion to CMYK, the conversion can be a bit "heavy and righties" especially if the gamut (range of color and tone, the device can reproduce) is small...

Prepress people (and scanning) to obtain a very good salary to do all this, but most of these guys is home, mow grass these days. It is not quite the blind leading the blind, but it can sometimes feel like him.

Before doing an important job, I will conduct trials the process myself using an image as the test image I mentioned earlier - maybe I send sRGB and make a guess as to a proper CMYK also then see comes out better. Once you have a knowledge, a smattering of th test is a great way to discover what is happening.

I hope this helps solve your problem with this issue in the future.

If it doesn't please mark my answer as 'useful' and the question as "answered" because it would be useful to all of you who have similar problems who are looking for the forum.

Thank you

  • UP2715K - calibration, color, brightness, yellowish tint bright pixel

    Hello.

I have several questions about the UP2715K, which I have two.

My first display was a bright pixel, but also on all modes of color white point almost perfect preserves, even at 50% brightness in SRGB.

My second screen has no bright pixel, but always retains a slightly yellowish tint, even with the Cal 1 and Cal 2 settings.

    Do you offer replacement?

While this bright pixel is annoying I don't know if it's worth to replace since I can get other questions, judging by the second screen with this yellowish tint.

The yellow tint is "fixable" recalibration and with what tool it will I? Is it at all a reason for concern? It is noticeable, and also at the same time feels less "contrasty" compared with "perfect white", but also more pleasant for the eyes.

Don't know what to do with the problem of hue to be honest. I'm a little worried of photography and other graphics that I need to have with correct colors in all areas of color.

No way we can know. Sometimes you can "exercise" a pixel to get off it.
    * Download/save smartUDPixel.exe on your windows desktop
    * Turn off all Windows power management and screen saver
    * Run the software
    * Click and drag the flashing box to cover the pixel
    * Run for 15 minutes

  • Windows 7 boot logo is displayed in strange colors, printing of the bios is blurry and has a yellow tint

I have been using Windows 7 on my desktop since mid-January of this year, first beta, then RC1 and now install Windows 7 Professional. I had not encountered this problem in one of my previous installations.

Arriving at the "windows startup screen" the animated windows logo appears in an odd arrangement of green and purple hues. Windows itself seems to have no real color problem arriving at the login screen. What is more strange is that mother Foxconn BIOS for my card start page now displays the text extremely blurry and has a yellowish tint on the edges of the letters.

Video card drivers reach this somehow similar? Or is it just something funny with my installation of Windows?

Edit: I apologize if this is the wrong forum, couldn't really find anything specific enough for this. Thank you!

Thank you to have moved. And you're right, this isn't windows, just a coincidence with the time of installation. I don't know what happened, but now everything is wobbly. I was getting a black and purple theme by entering in my bios instead of blue and yellow.

  • grayscale images appear yellow

Whenever I have display an image to grayscale in Photoshop CC, it has a yellowish tint to it.

I can't just get rid of this annoying yellowish tint!

Opening of the same image in a web browser, it seems OK. No yellow tint at all.

Does anyone have a solution to this?

If I click on the colors of View\Proof, the yellow tint disappears in the grayscale image.

As I said in my previous post, color proof is not a solution to the problem.

I find it curious that the RGB image is neutral, but I would have thought that the monitor profile is the problem, a grayscale image must be gray neutral.

It is not clear if you attempted to set the monitor to sRGB profile. Here is a more detailed explanation.

If this solves the problem, it confirms that the monitor profile is faulty and you will need to calibrate ideally with a material standard.

If it does not solve the problem, please post a screenshot of the color settings dialog box in Photoshop. (Edition > color settings)

    Close Photoshop.

Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box, enter colorcpl in the text field and press ENTER.

In the color management dialog box, click Add, and then choose sRGB IEC61966 - 2.1 and click OK.

Now select the sRGB profile and click on set as default profile.

  • Discoloration between the fill and the outline of an object

I created an object and normally have very smooth lines. However, I noticed that this object has a slight discoloration between the border of the Fill and Stroke. The discoloration is a slight yellowish tint despite the stroke and fill being red + black.

Is it possible to fix this? Included is a picture of the question with the sign of the appearance of the form (which was originally an ellipse before applying the Ark)

Is this just anti-aliasing? If so, is there a reason why it is yellowish? If I can't solve this problem, it displays when printing?

    illusQuestion.jpg

    Guy,

I think that it is the object of yellow background showing through. It should disappear if you uncheck the Anti-Aliasing, and it should not display.

  • Cool/yellow tint on iPhone 7 screen

Everyone has noticed that 7 iPhone screen is actually not as bright as the iPhone 6? What is a defective unit? I thought it was supposed to be 25% more luminous. She seems to have a cooler for her yellow tint when it is next. White is certainly not as bright compared to the 6 s. I turned off brightness auto and them two on high.  Some forums suggested to do a reset of all parameters and that did not help. I am very disappointed of the brightness.

  • IPhone 7 and 7 more dimmer/yellowish screen than the iphone 5 and 6 years

    Hello

Everyone knows the same problem as me watching their new iphone 7/7plus?

I noticed the two 7 resolution of the display of the model were more yellowish and weaker than previous models, even if each of them had their brightness set to the maximum value.

Anyone has an idea why is it like that? Thank you!

From left to right (iphone 7plus, 7, 6 and 5 years)

    Hello

I thought I was the only one with this problem! I noticed exactly the same where my 6s displays blanks that are white just neutral and my iPhone 7 tends to be on the warm side. I don't know why, but this effect when the iPhone screen 7 is dimmer reminds me of AMOLED screens.

My idea would be that the glue between the LCD and the glass needs time to completely dry, but I m not sure.

Also, I noticed that my iPhone 6s is much smoother. In particular, the animation when you click the home button feels liquid smooth on my 6 s, then the iPhone 7 feels like the animation is cut into two pieces.

Last thing I noticed during the last 24 hours is overheating. If she's in charge, making simple tasks, this new phone overheat very easily.

Whenever I open my Macbook to sleep or completely turn it on, it has a green tint / haze to it. The above is green, the sides of the screen are green. However, it disappears after 10 minutes. At the moment it is perfectly fine. The screen is the perfect color, it should be.

    Why does this happen?

I have not dropped, spilled coffee or something like that. Sometimes I slide it clean with a cloth Microfiber, but very gently.

  • Cinema display 30 '' yellow tint

I am the owner of a Mac Pro 3.7 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon E5 with AMD over-pants D300 2048 MB

I connected two monitor one's cinema display 30 '' and it has a yellow tint all around, what can be the problem?

Anyone has a setting to make it better?

do anyone know how much it cost to repair? If I have to fix it?

    Thank you!

    Marco

It looks like the screen showing his old age. If it's a hardware problem, it is not that you can do. If it can be repaired, the cost will be probably difficult to justify towards a new view.

In this case on certain areas of the screen, but not the others, as I understand it he does, it is unlikely to be something in the software.

  • Satellite Pro L300 - external monitor has a yellow tint to the screen

I have connected a new external monitor to my Sat Pro L300 and the monitor of the station has a strong tinge of yellow to the display.
I have tried with other monitors and cables and they do the same screen that is yellow.

Can anyone suggest what I can do, I tried to change all the color settings, but they don't get rid of the yellow tint.
    Thank you.

Well, maybe this problem is related to the failure of hardware since will have to show common colors without changing the settings in the color settings in the graphics card Control Panel

In my opinion this s hardware problem
However, before I ask a technician for advice I recommend updated the BIOS and reinstall the graphics driver.

  • Qosmio X 770-screen appears yellowish

    I just bought a Qosmio X 770. I also own a Satellite A500 and Macbook Pro.

I noticed that the Qosmio X 770 seems not as bright as my other laptops. I put the brightness up, plugged in the AC adapter, played around with the settings nVidia etc. The screen seem 'yellowish' when browsing the web, for example. When you browse the web, the whiteness seems not be as white and bright as my other laptops. Is this normal or do I have a faulty laptop?

    Hello

    > played around with settings nVidia etc.
Usually, the brightness of the screen can be changed using FN + F6 and FN + F7. Have you tested this?

With the nVidia settings, you can change the colors. Try to adjust the color or even load the default settings.

By the way: you use the display driver Toshiba or did you install the nVidia display driver?
