IOM 11 GR 2 backup and restore process

Hi Experts,

Can you please help me get the IOM 11 GR 2 backup and restore procedure for the production environment where the entire server down for example database and application server:

Wat are backup and restore processes for IOM 11 GR 2:

Also please inform only DB Backup is required or any level backup of system files must take to completely restore OIM11gr2

I went through the IOM 11 GR 2 backup scheme and restoration document using the Data Pump support of oracle Client utility, but discovered that the expdb is taken in charge for the production environment.

Kind regards

David

It will work as "Restoring in the same database (restore the previous working state)"

The same shock of DB, you cannot use another DB instance.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones really backup and restore for the OS upgrade

    Hi all

I'm new in the world of BB and I love it.

I've recently updated the OS of my BB "BOLD" and was a little surprised by the backup and restore process...

He missed some relevant info such as: BB Messenger discussions, certain parameters (network, wifi, email passwords options options...).

Is there a way to really back up everything before the update of the OS? That's all just annoying (even if it's no big deal, the vast majority is here...)

Thank you and have a nice day.

The difference is this: I saw the backup upgrade automatically deleted at the end of the upgrade process. Your backup beforehand will ensure you the data for use if necessary.

  • Satellite P750/P755 - backup and restore Windows 7

    Hello

My hard drive is about to fail on my Windows 7 Satellite P750; I get warnings of impending failure for a month now. I bought a hard drive again, and he's ready to go, but I am unable to create a backup and restore point. I get an error message 0 x 81000037: "snapshots of files cannot be read.

Let me give you a part of the history of my machine before we get to the question. Windows 7 is pre-installed on this machine. A year ago, I created a new partition and installed Linux. Linux then took over the responsibilities of the boot. A couple of weeks, I deleted the Linux partition. This gave me a problem because the computer could not start. Fortunately I had recently created a return upwards and the restore point, and during the process, I was asked if I wanted to create a Windows 7 Home Premium repair disc. I could use this CD to access a command line tool that makes the new bootable machine.

However, I have more a hidden on my machine boot partition (at least according to the disk management snap-in I'm not). Now, I get the above error when I try to create a new backup and restore point. I don't have a copy of the previous backup and restore point (I deleted it to make room for a new).

From my research, apparently, one of the possible causes of the error 0 x 81000037 is related to the size of the hidden boot partition. Because I do not have the hidden boot partition I fear this could be the cause.

There are other possible causes of this error. For example, a virus that the antivirus refuses to give access to during the back up and restore the partition, and junction points in to save readers who are the mounted volumes. I ran a full scan on my computer and cannot find any threats. I checked my junction points (which are a bit) and none are mounted drives.

This brings me to suspect that the lack of a boot partition is the problem. I saw in the forums of some suggest it is better to back up all my data in the traditional way (already done, since you ask), install the new drive to hard and then reinstall Windows 7.

So eventually, we get to my question!

Windows 7 is installed on my machine, I think that I don't have the disks to reinstall on a new hard drive. Is this correct? I am able to get a copy?

To be honest, I wouldn't reinstall Windows on a hard disk again, rather than using a return to the top of the spirit and point of restoration. I have a LOT of programs and rubbish that have accumulated in it in the (almost) last 3 years.

Thank you for your patience. If there are some details that might be useful, but I left out (I'm sure there is) please let me know.

    > I think Windows 7 is installed on my machine, that I don't have the disks to reinstall on a new hard drive. Is this correct? I am able to get a copy?

You have not all discs because Toshiba provides clean recovery disc creator software which is always pre-installed on new laptop computers.
This recovery disk tool or support of creator creates the recovery disk that can be used to recover the laptop.

It was a big mistake not to create this disk, however, you have the possibility to order this disc here:

  • Reference Dell backup and restore is unable to create a DVD of recovery on Windows 8

    Dear Dell,

I am creating recovery discs "Dell backup and Recovery application" but when I was asked to insert the second DVD, the optical drive keeps rejecting DVD. The application will not continue to burn the second DVD and seems to be frozen. I tyied with different DVD brands/manufacturers and also-/ + r unfortunately. The question remains. I could find this 593906 article published 21-01 - 2013 (http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/kcs/document?c=us&cs=19&docid=593906&doclang=en&l=en&s=dhs link). Although I did the updates, I'm still not able to create recovery discs!   File: after having inserted the Disc 3 application gives the message "Dbr.exe-" not found disk and stays there and rejects the DVD.  I spoke with the Greek team of Dell. I was told that warranty does not cover the support of sw even if my unit is less than a week. Furthermore, I learned that although "Dell backup and restore" application said THAT DELL is not actually a Dell product so they can't support. They my proposed to use the recovery of files from windows 7 place (which needs at least 8 DVD!). As you can understand it's a workaround and not a Solution.

I hope that someone from Dell will consider the issue and to come back with a precise answer and a permanent solution.   (Model: inspiron 15 3521). Thank you

    Hi ylikonomos,

You can try to uninstall and reinstall Dell Backup and Recovery Manager and Dell Support Center. Follow these steps:

    • Press the Windows key + 'X' on the keyboard.
    • Select "Programs and features" in the context menu that appears in the lower left corner.

    • In the list of applications, uninstall Dell Backup and Recovery Manager and Dell Support Center.

Below, check the version of the BIOS installed on the laptop. Press Windows + "R" key, type msinfo32 and press ENTER.

Identify the version of the BIOS. If A04, the update of the BIOS is not necessary. If this isn't the case, update the BIOS. Before flashing the BIOS please check this following:
    * No external device (printer, USB stick, SD card, DVD) must be connected.
    * All other programs should be closed and saved documents.
    * The power adapter and the battery must be connected during this process. The battery must be 10% or more than 10% of charge.

Here is the link for the update to the BIOS: http://dell.to/VBwSAh. The laptop restarts after this update.

Visit this link: http://dell.to/VBz1fr and click Dell Support Center. Download and install the application.
Once done, visit this link: http://bit.ly/UUjIs0 and install Dell Backup and Recovery Manager. Restart the computer and check if you are able to create the recovery media.

Please, try the following steps and share status.

  • Backup and restore cannot start

    Hi all, there

I was wondering if someone could help or at least shed some light on this problem.

I try to run "Backup and recovery of Dell" and it does not start with the message "Dell backup and restore has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience ".

He used to work in the past, then suddenly it stopped. I wanted to make a backup because it is asking me to do and it fails.

I wonder if there is a problem with my scores, I haven't changed somehow, but it seems that I have an extra partition to a colleague with a similar, but not the same dell computer.

Thank you very much if someone could help that would be great.

  • Reference Dell backup and restore (Premium Edition) 1.7.5.63

Since upgrading my software Dell backup and restore to version 1.7.5.63, I now have problems to make it past the "Dell backup and recovery Please Wait" screen.

I'm not leaving this option to run for more than 8 hours, but found that this process is not always successful. The only way I could find to block this process to run is to click on the? at the top right of the screen, then select "activity log". At this time, I clicked on the home button to take back me to the Dell Backup and Recovery Premium Edition home page and close the application. However, when I tried to re - open the application again, it brings back me to the screen "Dell backup and recovery Please Wait".

To solve this problem, I tried to restore from a previous backup I made of the Dell Backup and Recovery application but it failed miserably and corrupted my hard drive and operating system (Windows 8.1). So the only way I could get back to who had to go back to my backup bootable disks that I created when I arrived to my laptop Dell Latitude E6530.

Then I had re-installed all the 100 + updates of Windows for upgrade to Windows Pro 8.1 by the Windows store. From there, I upgraded my software "Dell backup and restore (Premium Edition)" at 1.7.5.63 and had the same problem again.

In any case to have a fix for this or tell me how I can raise an incident with Dell, because this is so ignorant and frustrating.

If I uninstall my Dell Backup and recovery software (Premium Edition) and reinstall the version found in http://www.dellbackupandrecovery.com/en-us/Index.html , but the last time I did, it installed the basic edition and not the Premium edition.

All right enough the last time I had problems with my Dell backup and recovery (Premium Edition) software, it seems to settle on the other updated after a few months, but I don't don't want really to go back to an earlier backup with an older version of the recovery (Premium Edition) software and backup Dell.

Any help or advice, you would be extremely grateful.

I'm shocked that Dell is detrimental to Windows backup in Windows 7 Professional.  Your comments here persuade me not to pay for the premium edition.  Various people on other internet research said Dell had a great program backup, 6 months ago, but weakened while it is able to sell a version Premium, also hobble the program backup Windows.  You might try a free backup software like Comodo as I suspect that you can not use the Windows backup which makes a backup with files image.  It was a very simple approach that Dell seems to have stuck in their new versions of Windows 7 Professional.  I restarted my computer because of this kind of game.  Since I bought it at Costco, I have 90 days to return it.  I also started watching a series of online backups.  Carbonite seems terribly clutter my computer, and while highly recommended, it is slow, slow, slow.  I am CrashPlan that seems to work much much much faster.  Both of these are paid services.  CrashPlan has a lot of versatility to accommodate beginners to evolve into something much more powerful.  They have free versions for recording to hard drives and other computers.  The online version has Unlimited storage, much versatility, without the limits other plans have, and it's only 4-6 dollars per month, depending on the current sales and payment terms.

    Hi Martin,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

Since you are already connected to the PC via the administrator password, backup and restore will require not just any password because it is a feature of Windows. It is possible that you need to enter the password if you are working on network PC using Backup and Restore.

  • Interact with the Application in backup and restore?

I use a persistent storage to save data in my application.  I would like to be able to retain these data for the upgrades of the device.  Suite How To - backup and restore of small amounts of data using SyncItem, I added another point of entry to my request and created a class that extends SyncItem.  I can now properly save and restore my data with Desktop Manager.

At the start, my request has copy data storage persistent local data structures.  While it is running, it only reads and writes on these local structures.  At the exit, he empty local data in persistent storage.  For this reason, if my application is running during a restore, will overwrite the data in persistent storage, but my application continues to run with the obsolete data.  Ideally, I would like to say my request to re-read a persistent storage.  Can I call methods in my application?  In setSyncData, I tried to use UiApplication.getUiApplication () to get a reference to my application, but it throws a ClassCastException.  Any ideas?

    Thank you.

UiApplication.getUiApplication () returns the application to the foreground, which can only be your app.  Instead, you can store a reference to your application in the RuntimeStore while it is running.  The restore process could then access the RuntimeStore object and call methods in your application to know that he has read the new, refreshed from the PersistentStore data.

The RuntimeStore works in a way similar to the PersistentStore, with the exception that RuntimeStore data are not permanent (it is lost when the device is reset).

Another approach is to alert the application using a GlobalEvent.

  • Windows backup and restore inefficiency

I use Windows Backup and Restore to backup personal files from my desktop Win 7 to an external HD. Then, from there, I use Windows Backup and Restore to "restore" my files to backup data to a second location, my laptop.

It works fine but there is what appears to be a huge inefficiency as part of the restoration of this process: When Restore detects a file on my laptop to a previous restoration with the same name in the form of the new backup file to restore, it offers only two options: overwrite the saved old file with the new backup file , or jump and don't write anything.

There is no reference to a third option: overwrite old files if and only if the new files with the same name have a date-time later.

If I do regular backups, it should expect that most of the files in the backup of the former will have not changed in the new backup. But if I choose the option to NOT overwrite the old files of the same name, old file of the same thing, but even with the new dates and times get skipped also and not are not updated. (Given that the choice of the screen jumps to for each of hundreds or thousands of files with the same name in two backups, I check the little box to make the same choice for ALL these cases, rather than manually examining each instance.)

So if I select the option to change the value nothing, backup and restore is worthless because newly saved files with a more late date-time than in the previous backup will be not updated in the restoration. If I decide to choose to overwrite the previous version of the file was changed or not since the last 'restore' (which is what I do), then use of time and energy of the restore process is increased enormously.

Y at - it a setting I'm missing that would restore process has replaced the files of previous restorations if and only if the new version of the files have a date-time later?

If not, this very simple option can be added to backup windows and restore utility?

If you want this level of options, use a third-party backup application.

Or wait in the hope that the next version of win may have the added options
