Iomega iConnect

I have successfully configured the wireless device. When I attach flash storage to the iConnect drive, it appears in Windows Explorer under storage attached to the network and is accessible. However, when I try to join my backup drive Seagate more than external office (4to), the device software is unable to recognize the external storage device. Currently, the Seagate is divided into three volumes (1 TB, 2 TB, 1 TB) using fat32 and GPT. Any suggestions?

Matthew Armshaw

I was able to partition the disk MBR and primary partitions up to 2 TB and the unit works perfectly. Strangley, however, it does recognize that the two first scores, which is not really a problem, but not something I can explain.

Thanks for the help,

Matt Armshaw

  • Iomega Portable hard drive now does not appear under "Devices" after accidentally deleted USB cable. USB

My Iomega eGo Portable hard drive was connected by USB on my Macbook Pro OSX 10.9.5 cable and I was transferring my iPhoto folder.  Unfortunately, the cable dropped and I got a message on my laptop hard drive had not ejected correctly.   I reconnected it the cable, but now, it does not appear under devices in the search page.  I also checked the disc utilities and it isn't here either.  I tried to connect the hard drive of my iMac, but it does not appear in the devices out there either.

Although I have been using a Mac since they first appeared on the market and can usually work things, I find it more and more difficult with all the new technology.  Everything that used to be so easy, one of the great things the Mac since MS-DOS.

If anyone can help I would be very grateful, because I have a lot of files on this disc of old Mac and use the Iomega to backup my most important files.

    The drive may have failed.

    Try different USB cables.

Remove the naked drive from the iOmega enclosure and test it in a known functional wardrobe.

    Ciao.

  • Iomega Zip Drive old (PC) for Mac SCSI drives

I came across my old Iomega Zip 100 Drive I used with my PC in 1999.  It is a SCSI drive.  I'm all about Apple and Mac during the past 10 years or so.  I have access to a Windows computer with, I think, Windows 98 on it. Is it possible to get pictures off the Zip disks?  I don't want to get a SCSI to USB cable and the ruin of my Mac. The Mac would even read the saved files.  No, I don't know how I saved them.  I just pictures on disks.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

    PMZF

Are you sure it's a SCSI disk (it's relatively rare to find SCSI on a PC)? There was an external parallel version of the Zip 100 drive. The connectors are DB - 25 for both versions, but the SCSI model has a special icon of SCSI ID and termination switches. The Iomega cables parallel and SCSI had different colors. Do not confuse the models. Do not plug in a parallel to a SCSI port, or vice versa.

In any case, if the Zip drive in question in fact can be successfully connected to the Windows PC (98), you should be able to read the discs, Zip it. There are a few methods that can be used for a transfer to a modern Mac. Is - that computer has Ethernet?

What exact model of Mac is this? You have access to a USB floppy drive (which can be connected to a Mac)?

It would also be possible to locate a Zip USB drive that could be linked to a modern computer. It would be a matter of moving the Zip disks only.

  • Connection of the old Mac Iomega Zip to the Mac Mini

I couldn't find an answer to this common question I could map to a solution to my problem, so:

I have an old Iomega 250 MB Zip disk that I used on a Mac of pre-iMac. It is a parallel port connection. I'm trying to use it on a Mac mini running El Capitan. I am trying to connect a parallel cable mini / USB. I am recovering some important files from this bygone era. I have the Mac Ziptools drive.

I don't know if it's to see the player: he seems afflicted to a connected player ID, but can't open it nor report any info on this.

So, in fact do this as shown? If this is not the case, how can I do this? Thank you.

I do not know its being a common question. At least not in this decade.   My G4 has a Zip drive, but it dates back to 2002.

I don't remember if the readers required Zip one driver special for which I suspect 99.999% there is no version of El Capitan.  He could have that included in the operating system returns with OS9, but because people have stopped using Zip disks long ago should not appear in a newer operating system.

  • Satellite M60: Need a parallel port to connect the Iomega Zip drive

    Hi guys,.

I have a Satellite M60 and I want to transfer files from my Iomega Zip drive.
My laptop is not has a paraller port, so I bought a converter to operate, but there was no result.

Is anyone of you know how to solve the problem and finally reach my driver ZIP of my Satellite in order to transfer files?
    Do I need another converter?

If so, when is? Or do I have to buy a PCI card with paraller port?

    Any response will be appraciated

    thanx

    Hello

I've never used a converter USB / parallel but a USB-to-serial port converter and I had very bad experience of such pieces of witch.
AFAIK this adapters don't work properly.

Therefore, your suggestion is not bad to use the PCMCIA card with a parallel port.

Check first of all in your user manual what cards are compatible, then you can try to use this card.

I think it would be the best solution to connect your Iomega Zip drive to the M60 laptop.

  • Specifications of IOmega Home Media 1 TB NAS storage

I have an IOMega Home Media drive that I bought a few years ago now (http://www.iomega.com/about/prreleases/2009/010509_home_media.html) and decided to start using it primarily as a server for my high-resolution audio. It is to be newly acquired Setup for my network Naim UnitiQute streamer. However, I have discovered since the performance of the NAS IOmega is pitifully bad and is actually unusable for its intended purpose. For example, it took well over 24 hours to remove 100 GB of old media (my low resolution itunes library and other things). So I can actually stream high resolution to my Naim network drive, I need to buy another drive superior performance NAS, but for this I need to know the material detailed specifications of the car so I can compare these measurements with other new potential players. for example the Nas Lacie 2Big. What I'm looking for above all, is the amount of RAM and the processor clock frequency. These are usually specified in new NAS drives, but IOmega because do not exist in their own right over and Lenovo did a pretty bad job on acknowleding the existence of older IOmega products, its very difficult for me to find this information. I need this information to help me not to buy a new NAS drive that is simply not up to par, so thanks in advance. There may be a link to the specifications of the product on Lenovo somewhere.

    Hi yebbi,

You can find the specifications of this device here: ftp://ftp.iomega.com/com/launchkit/mediahomenetwork/pri_34336_home_media_nhd_500gb.pdf

  • Iomega home media cloud edition & usb storage

Hi, I am running low on space on my Iomega nas media so server thought I would use the USB port to add extra storage space.

The new drive appears ok and appears as a share, but I can't seem to get my dlna client to see any media on the drive - I have configured to be a media player and re-scanned but I see nothing on this record from my TV.

Is there anything else I need to do?

    See you soon

    Jimmy

Seems a bit unnecessary addition of support for USB drives then...

In the end I got it working by manually adjusting the Twonky media server to check the USB key, was a bit of a faff however.

  • Iomega StorCenter ix2-200

I had the ix2 for a while, it worked perfectly. Once before, one of the drives has failed and I got a replacement of Iomega. Reconciled unity drives and everything was fine. Since then the camera has worked flawlessly again so far.

During the last two weeks, the player became undetectable on the network of one of the two computers in the sharing network. The white light on the front flashes constantly. There is no indication that the drive is alive. I removed the disc and individually attempted to find any content on them. There are two partitions on each, but I can't get windows 7 to read on the part of the partitions. I don't know how they are formatted.

(Or both) installed in the ix2, still just white light flashes on relentlessly. With no disc in the ix2, the light still flashes. Press and hold the power or reset button and power cycling the unit have no effect of the flashing light.

What can I do? I have just the scrap drive and say good bye to my data?

    ARK,

You will need to contact a professional data recovery service if you need data from these readers.

The only thing that we can do that could get the NAS to start in the situation you describe is destructive data.

If you are under warranty, you can submit a ticket for support here:

    Is it still possible?

    all the best

    Leszek

Yes, it's possible; at least with the ix2 - dl, because that's what I have. Your router must be able to port forwarding TCP 21 to the ix2 network I.P. address. As long as others can hit your router or DDNS address associated with, that they reach your SIN by FTP. If the ix2 is configured with the default of multimedia access permissions, FTP access to those records out this address designated or authorized users can FTP with their powers, for example ftp://username:[email protected]. (code = password. * beep * HTML converts in asscode in an emoji!)

  • How to reset the password for iomega storecentre ix2 without losing my data

Im having a problem accessing the iomega storecentre ix2. I can not connect on the nas server. How can I reset the password without losing my data on it. It is avisable to reset using the reset button without losing my data?

    Thank you!

    AJ

    Hi altagumasi,

The reset button of the pinhole on the rear panel of the unit resets user and network settings. It will not delete your data. Press on the reset button for 15 seconds and the device should restart. After the reboot, you will go through the initial setup process.

  • Iomega IX4 - 200 d - Boot Loop

    Hello.

    Hello.

We currently have an Iomega IX4 - 200 d that is stuck on a loop of Boot Logo Iomega.

I have posted a youtube video showing the issue in order to provide a better explanation.

    https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=aGLS5HfHPLM

The unit worked perfectly well and all the sudden we noticed that we had any access to the content.

At the time that I arrived at the unit, it's this way.

Content have already been recovered using a machine linux, and now the 4 HARD drives have been tested and are 100% functional.

We tried a few methods found on internet, HARD drive partitions were removed and all, but we just can't get the device to work.

    Any help is welcome.

    Best regards
    Paulo brine.

OK, I managed to fix my Iomega IX4 - 200 d, not supported by Lenovo, but in any case, for those who seek to challenge their units, you can find all the necessary files and instructions here:
