  This is not correct.  To complete a call, you can simply press the sleep/wake button!

  I see that since you have upgraded to iOS 10, Siri starts each time you try to unlock your iPhone and Siri on the lock screen is disabled in the settings. The way I understand it, is that you can control how these icons (for example, to view a list of new things, or do nothing), but you cannot remove them from the display on the lock screen. In the configuration you describe, all they do is you say there is something new in these applications... but with the locked screen, there is no way to see more details.

  I have an iPhone running iOS 10 6.  If the phone is unlocked I can slide down for Notifications and swipe left to direct access to Widgets.  It's all good.  However, since the lock screen I can swipe left for the camera, or the shot to the center of control, but striking to swipe to access Notifications and Widgets does nothing.

  Is there a setting somewhere that I can't find? Or is it simply not available on the iPhone 6?

  You can not. However, I'm not sure why you think it's a privacy or security threat. The only thing that can be accessed without unlocking the phone is the camera to take pictures. No one can access your data already on the phone.
