iOS9 iPad keeps retrieving very old IMAP mail?

I'm at the end of my mind. IOS automatically converts iPad into IMAP e-mail accounts? I have a huge archive of email on my MacBook Pro, and I'm NOT all that clutter my iPad, so I put in place to have pop accounts But now I'm randomly absolutely HUGE pile of mail that goes back at least a year or two or more big lumps. I just delete. I emptied the Recycle Bin. I emptied my SERVER from the iPad and the MacBook PRO continuously.   NOW I have a lot of hundreds or more like thousands of emails, I deleted at least five or six times over the past two days. I mean that I deleted the SAME mails, who then return. I did a reboot of the machine with no joy. Just out the blue mail that has been deleted from the MacBook pro AND the server comes as a zombie.  In addition, I get to a situation where the mailboxes don't report any email at all, but the MAIL icon shows a big backlog of unread emails.

Is it converted to iMap and insisting on syncing with my MacBook Pro? If it is an inevitable option, I have to give up the stupid iPad.  Help!

OK - couple of things

Best of my knowledge - the iPad will not sync with MBP

Then, go to Settings - Mail, Contacts, calendars - go in the e-mail in question account - if she says something like iCloud SMTP Server or the Server SMTP of Yahoo - this is IMAP

Third - have you had a chance of directly log on to the web portal of the email provider? So for Yahoo email, it would be mail.yahoo.com - and detailed emails from there? It is understandable that you want to keep on the EM and IF your Mac is POP - remove server will not delete NOT them since the mail client - however you can make a copy of the mail folder and store for more security and peace of mind

  • What happens to the records staff and old e-mail address book when I change to new email

I got a new email address. I'm going to quit using the former, who was with Comcast when I cancel the Comcast service, how can I make sure that I don't lose my personal folders and the address book. Also, if I can keep the personal folders that contain e-mail messages with the old e-mail address of Comcast, I'll be able to read them?

    Thank you.

The address book is not affected.
Comcast is my recollection of a pop email provider. If your via IMAP it's useless to you, so to speak.
If you right-click on the Comcast account in the folders pane and select settings. Under Server setting for the change of account, do not check for mail setting. Click Advanced settings and change the tick this off server as well. It stop at Thunderbird makes you mad with impossible to sign messages on behalf of the deceased.
Go to outgoing (SMTP) server and remove the Server SMTP of Comcast. This will avoid you accidentally answering the old post office and get an error as the Comcast account is no longer.

  • My iPad 2 became very slow

Not only it is abnormally slow, sometimes while I'm trying to read and send e-mails, it is up to my home page.  This could be the cause of this problem?

Your iPad is the most old iPad which has the older hardware can still be updated. 9.3.1 iOS can be slightly more than the device can handle. And on the other hand, it will take just a little TLC. You can start with very basic troubleshooting and go from there.

Claire Safari and all other browsers that you use. For SafarI, go to settings > Safari > clear the history and data from the Web site

Close all applications. Press the Home button twice quickly. You will see small glimpses of your applications recently used. Drag to the left to find the application you want to close. Swipe up on the preview of the application to close.

Force now restart your demand. This has no effect on the data, to force restart your device, press and hold the two buttons of sleep/wake and home for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

If things are still wobbly, reset all settings. You won't lose any data, but all the parameters of the device will have to be entered again in the settings app. This includes WiFi network passwords. Settings > general > reset > reset all settings.

If all else fails, you can always restore the iOS software. Backup your iPad before you restore, and then restore the backup when you are finished. If this doesn't always help, restore your iPad like new and all over again. Most bought content can be downloaded again free of charge as long as you use the same ID Apple and as long as the content is always available in the store.

    Restore iPad to factory settings

    Download last purchases

If you restore as a new and still have problems, it would be a good idea to make an appointment at the Apple Store and ask then to assess your iPad.

  • suggestions for ARCHIVING old business mail

I have a lot of old e-mail which seems to lie in thunderbird profiles which I think I transferred when I moved to the mac for many years. now they exist in the form of profiles of about four email in thunderbird on my mac. I would like to make an attempt to get it all organized and plans to import this email for Mac Mail.

However, I also wonder if it might be a better idea to MOVE this mail to a kind of software "access the archivally" and then also living a few old messages on MAIL this software archive parallel

will there be power users who can suggest solutions?

also, anyone have a suggestion on how to measure the size of the email file in Mail and if there is no practical limit I shouldn't go?

    Thank you

You can create several mailboxes on my Mac to move mail to and keep it organized. Mail/Mailbox/new mailbox.

  • Incoming IMAP mail

This morning, I went to change the size of the font on my Mail app on mac and now I get the following error message:

I have no problem with my iPad. It only happens on the desktop.

    Could someone suggest anything?

    Kind regards

I had the same problems of connection of my MacBook Pro running the Mail app to iCloud email for the day after as well, except that the server is different:

There may be a problem with the mail server or the network. Check the "iCloud" account settings or try again.

The server returned the error: connection to the server ' p45 - imap.mail.me.com "on default ports has expired.

I could get my mail by connecting to iCloud email via a Web browser on my MacBook Pro, in addition to my iPhone.

If you have an IMAP account, go to Mail/preferences/accounts/box mailbox behaviors and make sure that the store deleted messages on the server is not checked. If this is the case, uncheck the box and see if you can remove the trash.

If that is not working, go to Mail/trash, select an e-mail message and then control - click/Delete. Does it work?

  • Firefox keeps caching of old css and js, must do a hard refresh every time I discovered the site

    I'm a web developer,

Recently (this week and last) my firefox has been cached from very old resources. If I update the html pages, I can see that change on a refreshment, but and I do changes in css or js do not reflect. Whenever I load a site I do a [shift + refresh]. Even if I clear my cache in the preferences, it will not solve the problem.

The only way I can make firefox load new resources page is via an application called "clean my mac 2", where I have to request a reset.

I do this 5 or 6 times a day and the rest of the time I have to still [shift + r] to get the updated content.

It is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted.

Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete the other files of cookie present as cookies.sqlite - journal in the Firefox profile folder where the cookies.sqlite file has been corrupted.

You can also check whether DOM Storage is enabled.
