IP deployment Image Image of Win7

Hi team,

How to deploy automatically IP address based Windows 7 Image deployment via SCCM or MDT. I need to deploy specific on measure/Image on the particular range of IP addresses. Is it possible to do

For example: Image1.Wim to the IP address of 10.0.0.10 at 10.0.0.110 Beach

Image2.wim to the 10.0.0.111 to 10.0.0.255 IP address range

You will find the server and IT gurus more Tech in the TechNet forums, this is where we'll find a good answer to this question type.

  • HP Device Manager - unable to deploy images taken with a particular operating system to another OS

    Hi all

I tried to deploy an image from a HP T5565 (Thin Client) with the operating system HP ThinPro 4, an HP T5565 with the HP ThinPro 3 operating system. Anyone know if this is possible?

I am also having the same problem when you deploy an image from a HP T610 - thin thin clent Pro 4, a HP T610 - thin Pro 3 thin client.

I take the image by right clicking on the client, by clicking on "Send the task", imagery, and then capture Image.

I deploy images in the same way, but instead select the picture in the Templates window. It works very well for Thin Clients running on the same OS.

I would be grateful for any assistance with this!

    Kind regards

    Remo

This is the version of the image I want.

So bascially your problem is: being ThinPro 3 devices ThinPro 4 different OS, you are not able to find the captured image of ThinPro 4 tab ThinPro 3 OS.

Two methods for you to Imaging cross OSes.

    1. you have model result to capture the image on your DM console task

In this case, just click with the right button on the model of result and select "Copy to other OS", it should be ThinPro4 in your case, then you should be able to see and use the model on the ThinPro4 tab.

    2. you have a gold statue want to deploy, but no model of result in the console HPDM.

    1. Locate the gold statue.
    2. DM console, switch to tab ThinPro 3, import the image by clicking on the "Template"-> "Import"-> "Image Files"-> "to deploy without PXE.
    3. Browse the file in step 1, select ThinPro3 as the OS tab and enter a model name.
    4. Wait to build the model on the ThinPro3 tab.
    5. After that these, you can use the model to upgrade unit ThinPro 3 to ThinPro4.

Just FYI, we strongly recommend to update DM agent before performing all tasks with HPDM.

The image of Win7 disc creator copierait also the MBR? and replace it when the image is reinstalled?

Deal with a MBR virus and later now for backups, but want to be proactive for the future.
If it happens again, I can just reinstall the image so it will overwrite everything, including the MBR?

Yes, it will copy exact copy:

    This includes all start-up requirements.
  • CS6 in deployment image. End PC asks activation

When I added CS6 to my deployment image and deploy on a PC, PC end-user demand activation on trees run by saying that it is a trial version.    This was not the case when you use CS5.5 and previous versions of JOHN.  What has changed and how I can address the activation / licensing so that the user does not get guest?

It is not a software using common tools deployment option as suggested (KACE, SCCM, etc.).  Thank you.

Thank you released.  Thank you for pointing me the finger directly at the right place in the documentation of JOHN.  This solved my problems of deployment with CS6.

Other people have the same problem, here is exactly what I did.

This script runs on the first boot of a deployment image

    c:\Windows\Setup\Scripts\SetupComplete.cmd

In this script, I entered in a single line:

    "@C:\Image\AdoberSerialize.cmd" without the quotes

    In C:\Image, I copied AdobeSerialization.exe and prov.xml

    I created AdobeSerialize.cmd

I entered in a single line:

    "Start /d c:\Image\ AdobeSerialization.exe - tool = VolumeSerialize" without the quotes

You may want to consider a solution that cleans up the AdobeSerialization.exe and the prov.xml once it is complete.

I suggest that you use 4.7 SP2 or later version. From SP2, we use the PE of the DM repository instead of the local device.

  • Not able to deploy images on different subnets

    Hi guys,.

I'm having a problem of image deployment of T5565 for thin clients on a different subnet.

The first message that I got, was "the subnet of the device (s) in red color is not the same thing with its device management gateway. You want to send the task anyway".

I selected Yes, and finally the deployment will timeout with the following error: "job failed. Task become invalid before being sent".

I am able to update the agents on these thin clients with success, however, and these devices are discoverable.

Any help will be much appreciated.

    Kind regards

This has been sorted guys. I had tried to deploy the image by using PXE.

Image without PXE deployment now works fine.

  • cannot install / deploy image on T5810

I'm trying to run an image on a new T5810 precision using dell direct image and installation just a USB key with my picture on it files. It crosses the col 1 & 2 and then when I wait for it to restart and finish the installation and unzip all the drivers etc it just reboots and starts the process of the image. I tried to change the SATA operation in the bios and tried with all the options here but still does the same thing. I also moved the HARD drive in port 1 rather than 0 and still no further.

Ideas for help would be very appreciated.

    . Thank you

Not exactly the same as installing Windows 7 on your situation but vanilla can't find not all drives to install on our T5810s. There is no card RAID to face either; hard drives are connected to the integrated SATA ports. If the built-in Windows driver is unable to communicate with the controller on board.

For Windows configuration to work I had to choose "load drivers" in the "installation location" screen and insert a flash drive with the Intel Rapid Storage C600 + / C220 + pilot for the series. INFs on it. The specific driver, I used is storage - Controller_Driver_9NYWJ_WN_4.0.0.1040_A05. EXE on the Dell site, necessary. INFs under Drivers\Win7\AHCI\x64 and choose the RAID or AHCI driver according to what is on the BIOS (RAID except if it has been changed manually).

Symptoms similar to yours have happened to me in the past when I tried to install. WIM images on T3600s which was equipped with a Dell's PERC card. Unmanned PERC built-in the image, the machine would fail to complete startup.

You will need to make a new image to install the Intel Rapid Storage driver, or to inject the driver into your current image.

    Hello

If you have used the free upgrade to Windows 10 your activation can be in the form of a right to digital. Digital law is a code that is created with the existing information for the hardware that is installed in the computer.

You can replace a hard drive and it doesn't usually cause problems, but if you make too many changes, this could cause the system to disable this feature.

In this case, you can contact Microsoft Support and they help to reactivate the computer.

    Hello

As MAF is a hybrid of Mobile development platform.

I'm looking to deploy an application of MAF to and jDeveloper Windows 7 on an iOS device environment?

Is it possible or I need an iOS for this machine?

    If possible how?

XCode is only used to compile your MAF application (that you developed in JDeveloper on Mac or Windows) in iOS code.

Ditto for the Android SDK tools but this compliles he Code Android. But the Android SDK is available for Windows and Mac.

So if you try to deploy on a device iOS a Windows based PC, it will fail because I can't find XCode.

So basically, you only need a Mac for XCode (which is the equivalent of Android SDK for iOS) but as the Android SDK is also available on Mac, you can use a Mac to deploy your MAF for Android and iOS application.

  • DISM/cleanup-image does not

    Hello

I am running Win 7 SP1 and try to retrieve space in the folder winsxs bloated (about 20 GB!), using the DISM command.
    However, when I run

    DISM/Online/Cleanup-Image /spsuperseded

    I get:

    Error 87
    Cleaning-image option is unknown

Dig deeper in the dism.log, one of the log entry shows:
DISM. EXE: No provider were found who supported by the command(cleanup-image).

No idea what I'm missing or doing wrong?

    Thank you!

    Nick

    I installed SP1 on top a base of Win7.

And Yes, I had previously run the tool to drive Compact, all options on, who are desperately trying to reduce the size of the footprint of the OS. But producing minimal results, that's why I gave DISM one go.

I do not understand: the winsxs directory is about 20 GB, and overall, the Windows directory is 39 GB. My SSD is only a 64 GB, and I fear at this rate, there will come a time when I run out of space just because of Windows updates.

Is there really nothing there to help diagnose/fix this crazy consumption of space by Windows?

Windows 7 on a 64 GB drive is malfunctioning.  From my experience, you need at least 128GB and most of the people - 256 GB or more.

Of course - I say this and sitting happily with my 64 GB SSD on this same machine.  I have only about 15 GB free, but I have quite a large Outlook mailbox.  My file C:\Windows\ (64 - bit, Windows 7 Enterprise) has 70159 files in folders 15072 containing ~17.7GB of data.  While the C:\Windows\winsxs directory is a good piece of which 42734 10689 files containing ~6.41GB files - this isn't nearly the size of your 20 GB.  If you select all files and folders in the root of my drive C:\ other than 'Windows' and 'Users' I 37070 files in 5283 records taking ~13.1GB.  My folder "C:\USERS\" competes quite well to the ~12.6GB - with ~12.5GB everything under my user account as well as ~6.78GB of this being Microsoft Outlook PST and OST files for four different e-mail accounts.

So the question is - what do you differently to what I've done?

I do not know.  I'm sure that I installed using media for Windows 7 * with * SP1 integrated.  However, when I run the command I have recommended dozens of times before...

So my curiosity would be the version of your DISM. EXE and if you can use the /? command line variable to get as much as I did above.  Your installation of Windows * is * taking up way too much space - because essentially you and I use a similar size system (64 GB SSD) drive and I have all kinds of things other than just Windows installed (Office 2010, DVDFab 8, a couple of different web browsers, the suspects normal plug-ins Internet, my antivirus and antimalware utilities and quite a few other things) on the same drive and have a decent size record associated with nothing else than e-mail (maximum 10% of readers space total is taken over by email related files) and I still free of 59.5 total GB 15.4 GB.  All this and your so-called Windows directory contains all but 5 GB of my entire system.

Just for clarification - when I run the same thing I asked you to run...

OS version: 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601

You can also find in the c:\windows\system32 directory in your administrative command prompt.  Just in case you have any other questions.

Also - are you crazy with updates and the LANGUAGE PACKS?  Or you have not installed any that you don't need?

If you follow these steps on the same command line:

    DISM/Online/Get-Packages > c:\temp\packages.txt

then open the c:\temp\packages.txt (you must first create a directory C:\temp\) and see how many lines you have in this file altogether (wrapping off the coast, status bar on, do scroll down and place your cursor on the last line and read the number of lines in the status bar)-what is it?

  • How to restore the F11 - WIN7 feature

I'll keep this short and sweet because some people may not wish to have to read the boring details of why this is necessary. If you don't want to understand why to read my post on the subject titled repair MBR.

Does anyone know if Lenovo has provided a repair kit MBR for Windows 7 (USB or CD ISO) systems in order to restore the F11 feature? In addition to getting the Lenovo recovery disks, if not, how is a customer supposed to get their licensed copy of Microsoft Windows?

I'm not interested by workarounds such as changing the MBR using GRUB or a third-party utility. I'm looking for official manufacturer in this regard resolution, if any; nothing else. Thanks in advance!

Just as I'm ready to throw in the towel to restore the image of WIN7 factory I have a solution. It is not the best solution, but it's a functional purpose. The irony here is incredible: a single keyword I forgot to include in my search for rescue or recovery options was the following: ONEKEY!

I would have saved myself COUNTLESS hours of frustration and head banging ALL the forum posts that I read has included this information so I hope that THIS post will help prevent these for future users who encounter a similar situation.

Without further ADO, THE SOLUTION IS this...

Download and install Lenovo OneKey Recovery for Windows 7 64 - bit NOT rescue & recovery!

I found it here, but it may be located in the other pages as well, certainly NOT on a page of H420:

Lenovo OneKey Recovery for Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit) - Lenovo G550

    http://support.Lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?docid=DS018296

FORTUNATELY it has installed successfully unlike R & R 4.5 or 4.51. I executed the program in the WIN7 base which I installed previously. When I chose the OneKey Recovery option, the system restarted in recovery utility and restored the original from the hidden partition image (the same score I did NOT remove the suggestion of a user here!).

F11 feature remains broken so this option will not work for all those wishing to recover the current operating system, unless they can do regular backups to recover from. I don't not even in the discussion about WHY Lenovo uses different recovery systems products. Also, I don't think this work around absolves Lenovo to create a utility to manage their boot manager/MBR owners. I'm just happy to put this issue at the end once and for all. I will not recommend the Lenovo products for family, friends, colleagues, or clients in the future. Good luck to those that do!

    Lesson learned!

  • Running several instances of Win7

Hello, this is my first post in this forum.

I tried to do some research to make sure that I'm not something that has already been answered, but that have not yet found.

I would use vSphere Hypervisor (free product) on a single server and run several instances/images of Win7, so that I could use it in the classroom. My hope is that by doing this I need only to maintain an image and keep up-to-date.

My plan is to create an image, and then allow clients to connect to the server via RDP and start a Win7 desktop computer using this image. I also need to have Office 2010 installed on this desktop is going to be where my teaching is centered.

    My questions are:

    1. This product will make?
    2. How to create the image of Win7?
    3. How licensing issues are handled so that I can legitimately run up to 5 copies of this Win7 desktop computer?
    4. Any other suggestions or thoughts that I have to consider?

    Thanks in advance.

    Russ Kauk

If you are willing to accept a slight modification, it can do.

    (1) creating an image or

    (2) you create clones of n of this image and start them

    (3) users connect via IP/hostname to each individual workstation.

If you need to automatically configured virtual machines and management, then you have to accelerate the non-free hypervisor, vCenter and VMware View.

Regarding the issuance of permits - you will need licenses for Windows "n", likely.
