Iphone gmail contacts

Hi all

I'm noting the problems to sync my Iphone contacts with Gmail.

I followed all the steps in order to clarify my Gmail account and its synchronization options. Accordingly, I find most of my contacts in Gmail, but it happens that some of the contacts are not updated in Gmail.

How can I avoid loss contacts?

Thank you very much.

Elena

Hi Elena! (sei italiana?)

I think you just did not implement your Google account as default option where to save new contacts, so, probably, that you save them to your iPhone.

Open the settings > Mail, contacts, and calendars, and go to the Contacts section, where you can specify your Google account as a main option.

I hope this helps!

  • How do two users share a computer (music, photos) in a single library but have separate iPhones (applications, contacts, etc.)

I've hunted around so apologies if the answer is already pluse...

My wife and I have an iPhone each. We have our own applications, contacts, e-mail, reminders, calendars (a little shared via iCloud for family stuff). We have a Mac. We want to be able to share a unique music library (caps to synchronize the different slopes for different phones) and a unique photo library. Until recently, I did this by moving the two libraries on a partition separate without permissions etc. I could connect to a user account for me and access, then log off and log in as my wife and access. Do not change fast and really I'm only using my wife log in as a place to save his iPhone, app, contacts data backups, etc. This is already in the iCloud.

However, with the new application Photos it seems that you can share is no longer a single library between two users. I get permission errors every time that I load it. I connect both my wife, get the error, run 'repair permissions', then it opens. I go back to my account and now I can't open it, have once again to 'fix' etc.

    So the questions:

    1. is it possible to still share a unique between two accounts photo library, so that we can each backup / synchronize phones separately?

2 - is the best way to do it? Historically, I guess I need two accounts on my mac to keep our separate data, but is it possible to have two iPhones sync for the same account, but keep things like contacts, separate application data, etc.?

    Thank you

    Gareth

    1. is it possible to still share a unique between two accounts photo library, so that we can each backup / synchronize phones separately?

Yes. The way to deliver two users share the same Photos and iTunes without permissions library library (but only one user can access the library at the same time) is to put the library on an external hard drive that is formatted as shown in this screenshot and directly connected to the Mac via the USB cable Firewire, or Thunderbolt.

Each would have its own account on the Mac so keep separate e-mail, contacts, etc.  Fast user switching can be configured, so it's easy to quickly switch between accounts.

But when you are finished with the library each user must leave Photos if the library is available for the other user.

  • BackFlip: Fails to synchronize GMAIL Contacts

The functionality of google on Motorola Backflip mail claims it synchronizes your contacts with you google mail contacts. None of my phone contacts are being synced GMAIL contacts. Well, my GMAIL contacts are sent to my phone.

Synchronization of calendar and e-mail is functional entirely 2 lanes.

OK, so the phone is not designed to SYNCHRONIZE all your sources of contact. Contacts you want in GMAIL should be created in GMAIL or on the phone. If you import contacts from other sources, they stay connected to other sources.

If Facebook contacts will synchronize NOT in Gmail. Gmail and Facebook contacts will remain separate, but blur join them so you don't see duplicates. But Facebook contacts will not be synchronized on to Gmail. If you wan't your Outlook contacts in Gmail, you can export them to CSV and then import them into Gmail.

The phone and MotoBlur are designed to converge the various sources of data, but not them are trained in systems of origin. Facebook will import all your contacts and find them, but a lot of people don't do that. Many want all their contacts facebook in their departmental contacts - so the Moto phones take the highway - they show you all the data and the link. If you create a new contact on the phone, you choose which (or all) database gets the new contact, but the phone will not put your Outlook in Google contacts or your Facebook contacts in labor.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones combine phone and gmail contacts?

Hello, I recently downloaded my gmail contacts on my BB and now all my email contacts are mixed with my contacts from phone (most of them are also under the same name). It makes it much harder to make a simple phone call or email to someone - is it possible to combine a phone contact and e-mail into one? Thank you!

I was wondering the same thing.  What a PITA.

I think that initially when you configure Gmail on the BB, it prompts you to decide whether or not you want to synchronize contacts (from Gmail).  I think that if this box is left unchecked, it would not have imported all the contacts of Gmail in the list of Contacts [phone].

If you want to delete your Gmail from your torch, then re-setup Gmail account and make sure you don't synchronize contacts, maybe he should correct the problem.

If you delete Gmail, it cannot automatically remove all Gmail contacts in your Contacts list.  You might need to open the full menu in the contact list, select Select a list of Contacts..., choose Gmail, then delete each individual contact gmail.

  • New contact on Palm Pre 2, not Gmail Contacts sync

I have a Palm Pre 2 with WebOS 2.0 and configured it with my Gmail account as the default account for the Contacts. When I add a new contact to my Contacts in Gmail, it appears on my phone but when I add a new contact on the phone it does not appear in my Contacts on Gmail. It seems that the sync happens only in one direction, that is from my Gmail Contacts on phone. Can someone please provide a solution for sync work from phone to Gmail.

    Thank you.

just thought about it - when I added the new contact my default account is the palm profile. Even if I changed my default Gmail contact was always a palm profile contact. I added an another and this time it worked.

  • iPhone freeze Contact Search, does not properly

I saw a few chains with a touch Iphone freeze and wanted to tell my experience to see if anyone has seen similar problems.

I have observed since on IOS 8.3 that my contacts are starting to freeze when I get more than 4 characters.

The problem seems to be specific to an iPhone 6 more and no matter if I reset the phone as new or not.

In other words if I reset the phone as new and then restore ONLY the contacts I still have the problem.  Oddly, the problem DOES not occur with an iPhone 6.  I went to the genius bar and we have tested on 2 iphone 6 and it is not a problem.  We then tested on another iPhone 6 more only it was a 6 s iPhone is not a problem 6 and of course similarly.  I checked also iPhone of my wife 6 more and then she has about 6 K contacts and not such a problem, the minute that I charge my 7.5 K comes into contact with the freezing of contacts.

Apple Care focuses on this, but is also amazed that I am.  They gave me a new iPhone 6 Plus and we have the same problem, so I don't think it's a hardware problem.

The version of IOS, which began to be a problem for me is the first version of IOS contacts search which, instead of just displaying the name, shows also an additional line of text.

Given that my contacts are the contacts of GMAIL that I also contacted Google and they have an open box, but do not believe that it is their problem.  I have

I could document my contacts work very well on 2 iphone 1 iPhone 4S and 6s with the help of a very old operating system to 7.1

    Just an update.

I talked to Apple Care technical support and they verified that it is a real problem with IOS.  We don't know why this happens to some people and NOT for others.  What is known, it is that the following workarounds may help.

    1. using the microphone to dictate your search (works most of the time, but not 100%)

    2. use the spotlight search and NOT looking for contacts.  Spotlight, accessible by sliding your finger down from the top of the screen will search your contacts as well as other places on your iPhone.  Interestingly enough this seems very well work (probably a simpler search algorithm)

If anyone has any good ideas for alternatives workarounds or things that apple Care should know that can help their development, please let me know.

  • iPhone delete contacts one by one and sending messages to the wrong people

I have two problems with my contacts that become very cumbersome and no solution, that I could find online.

Problem 1: a few contacts per week disappear from all my devices, which are synchronized to the top through iCloud. Accordingly, my message thread is largely of numbers and I must discern who everyone is. It is even more difficult to start a new conversation. iCloud is the only place where I store contacts and return to a backup does not help because it will just remove contacts more next week, in addition to losing those that I added since the backup. Usually, it deletes the contact while I am SMS with them, so I saw the name change to a number several times.

Problem 2: Sometimes I have a person text and it will send the message to another person. It's very strange. I can even make this text a number rather than a name, and it will be text number of the other person. This usually happens between a couple husband and wife, or two people who work in the same place.

I use Messages to communicate a lot for work, and it's quite get in the way. It is quite complicated to get me out of the entire Apple ecosystem, which I'm deeply rooted in the, because it prevents me from communicating with people and to get anything done. Yet I can find no solution online and have not read even where Apple recognized the problem.

Please help and please tell me that the next series of OS updates will solve this problem.

It is certainly a strange phenomenon!

  • Why not my iPhone backup contacts?

I'm on an iPhone 6 more with the latest version of the software version. But the contacts seem to backup my Mac to iPhone but not the other way around.

First of all, it is not a backup but a synchronization.

What version of OS X are you?

    Do a check

    iPhone:

You use the same Apple ID to your iCloud iPhone and your Mac iCloud?

Settings > iCloud > Contacts: WE?

(Try to sign and return to)

    Mac:

  • Sync iPhone calendar, contacts, notes with Outlook on Mac?

I have an iPhone 6 s running iOS 9.3.1 I want to synchronize locally with Outlook for Mac 2011 (calendars, contacts, notes) that I don't want my information hosted in "the cloud."  I know that this synchronization option has been removed from iTunes (I currently have 12.3.3.17).  Is it possible to do this with the latest version of OS X Server?

iTunes does not synchronize Outlook more.

OS X Server has mail, calendar and Contacts integrated servers. The protocols supported by the Apple server software are respectively - IMAP, CalDav and CardDav. These protocols, all three are supported by Apple Mail, all three are supported by iOS i.e. iPhones but Outlook for same Mac 2016 Outlook does support IMAP, i.e., it only supports CalDav or Mac OS x Server.

Therefore, the answer would be no.

If you had a 'real' Microsoft Exchange Server, then the answer would be Yes, and if you rather Kerio Connect running on a Mac then the answer is also Yes. This is because both a 'real' Microsoft Exchange and Kerio Connect Server supports Exchange ActiveSync aka. EA is that using the iPhone, which also supports the Exchange Web Services aka. Server Web integrated is that Outlook for Mac support. (Version 2011 and 2016).

  • iPhone 6 contacts do not sync contacts ios

Hello, I have contacts on osx 10.9.5 v8.0 on my macbook air.  I have ios 9.2 on my iphone 6.  I have two contacts to sync to icloud (at least I think, I have all the correct setting to do).  When I add a contact on my imac, it goes to my iphone in seconds (and to icloud I can confirm through my browser) that works very well.  When I work the other way it works at all.  If I add a contact on my iphone, it's not going anywhere.  Accordingly, I have about 30 contacts on the iphone that I have on the imac.  Suggestions, how can I fix?  Thank you!
