BlackBerry Smartphones combine phone and gmail contacts?

Hello, I recently downloaded my gmail contacts on my BB and now all my email contacts are mixed with my contacts from phone (most of them are also under the same name). It makes it much harder to make a simple phone call or email to someone - is it possible to combine a phone contact and e-mail into one? Thank you!

I was wondering the same thing.  What a PITA.

I think that initially when you configure Gmail on the BB, it prompts you to decide whether or not you want to synchronize contacts (from Gmail).  I think that if this box is left unchecked, it would not have imported all the contacts of Gmail in the list of Contacts [phone].

If you want to delete your Gmail from your torch, then re-setup Gmail account and make sure you don't synchronize contacts, maybe he should correct the problem.

If you delete Gmail, it cannot automatically remove all Gmail contacts in your Contacts list.  You might need to open the full menu in the contact list, select Select a list of Contacts..., choose Gmail, then delete each individual contact gmail.

I just made the initial sync of my Blackberry 8530 with my software CMS, office (AO) (using Outlook for tasks and memo) Agent.  I've used a Treo 600.  The Treo synced a characteristic of the AO, connecting a contact record to the component/schedule of activities for this contact. On each calendar item has been to contact relevant name and phone number.   Is there a way to do it with Blackberry or y at - it a 3rd party application that I could use to do this?

    Thank you.

I created a workaround solution.  In the desktop application of BB during the match fields in the Schedule tab, there is no field 'Contact' on the side of BB, but there is a 'Contact' field on the side of the activity of Agent's office.  On the other hand, there is a field "Place" on the side of BB, but none on the side of the Agent's Office.   So I adapted the field 'Place' in the field 'Contact '.  At the Agent's office, I still input location (and sometimes the directions for) an appointment in the field 'Notes' activity so I adapted the two fields 'Notes' to not lose the location of a meeting.   Or, if the activity is a webinar, I put the URL in the field notes.  So no changes are necessary to get the information for these events.

Works like a charm!  "The location/Contact name" shows the same level as the description of the calendar event.  And I avoided the risk of additional technology hell trying to get a 3rd software application left for work.

To configure the gmail account, you will need to connect to the site of your carrier/service provider BIS (email configuration) and add the gmail account. This way emails can be forwarded to your phone. The phone normally has a configuration of e-mail icon that allows you to do.

You need to call Tmobile and make sure that they have supplied your unlimited BIS account with the new code PIN and IMEI number of the new device. Once that fact, they, or you can push the service books to your new device that will allow the icon to set up personal email as well as all your other data service for Facebook, etc..

  • How can smartphones blackBerry we separate phone and e-mail messages?

I'm new to the blackberry and do not see a way to separate my phone messages from e-mail.  There is an icon for my email inbox (marked my email address) but these messages also appear on the "messages" icon mixed between the activity of my phone.  What I want is to have only phone messages/activity (missed calls, etc.) under an icon and my email under another icon.

Is there a way to stop the e-mail of projection under the icon of 'messages '?  Can someone explain how to do this please?

Hmmm, seems that I just give you the necessary instructions for this. ALL your e-mail will come to the electronic record.

All your phone call logs appear in the call log display and not in the messages folder.

    AT & T Silly people.

    1. connect to your carrier's website you BIS. Carrier BIS connection sites are listed here:

    http://BlackBerryFAQ.com/index.php/Where_can_I_log_into_my_BIS_account%3F

OR you can connect from your BlackBerry to the icon "personal e-mail Configuration.

    2. click on 'Edit' next to the email to which account you want to change (or remove) the signature.

    3. where it says "signature", delete all the text if you don't want ANY signature, or change view you prefer instead of "sent from my BlackBerry... »

  • BlackBerry Smartphones E-mails from gmail is not on Blackberry

Because I had problems with my other email account, I recently "moved" my correspondence email business to my gmail account, I had rather used as a backup before. I had both my accounts put in place on my blackberry and I remember them both increased and works well, but I cannot say with certainty that I have rarely received emails on gmail.

The problems I have now (I had also, at the same time re - configure my blackberry, but everything should be ok now) is that the gmail account is not working properly after the installation. At first, it seemed to work pretty well, but now it's extremely erratic, at best, with a few emails that crosses and their reception by the blackberry, not at all and if yes with a delay of up to a few days (!).
This makes the combination of my now main mail to gmail account and my blackberry on which I rely heavily for communication when I'm out of the House completely unusable.

I have heard and read (even if for the most part in internet posts that are a few years old) it seems to be a problem running with gmail and blackberry accounts. Is - this irreparable?

    Is there a solution?

If all else fails, use a new account (new) would be the only alternative left - which would be a messaging provider that matches 100% with the blackberry e-mail program?

    Thank you very much!

Hello and welcome to the community!

With a strong carrier network (for example, not only WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... Please wait just before moving on to the next step):

    1) register HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    2) Remove and return Service books

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    3) restart

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.
    • See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should try remove and re-add your configurations for the relevant accounts.

In addition, with GMail, you must be sure to have a good setting inside GMail. Via PC/browser, you control what GMail is facing the internet for your account (POP, IMAP, or both). I always recommend that you turn OFF POP and turn on IMAP in Gmail. Then set up fresh for your BB and you will have the 'best' available (IMHO) settings for GMail.

Otherwise, you should contact your mobile provider for formal support. What you describe certainly shouldn't happen on a regular basis (even if we must all accept the intermittent nature of everything on the internet).

    Good luck!

After his contacts on the PC, I'll make sure that you have installed 4.7 DTM and go to the command line

type: cd c:\program files Research in motion\apploader enter

    type: enter loader.exe /resettofactory

This should remove the policy from IT previous of the device and wipe the device then you can resync everything back to the device.

A few days that I have improved the bbm and so does my daughter. Some how his contacts then appeared on my phone n bbm does not work on the 8520. the icon is ther it said installed but does not work. I called virgin who said that they were sorted and bbm should be resumed after 24 hours but is not. How can I fix?

    Hello ladychelle

I guess you have already BIS on both of your devices, so first of all restart your device by removing the battery while your device is turned on, wait a minute then reinsert back .after restarting check if it allows,

If the problem persists then register your handheld computer on your corporate network, for the help, see this KB:

KB00510 : How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network

(receive a recording message in your message)  After receiving another battery pull reboot, then try again.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Can I edit my Contact list of my PC?

If I can't do it while only connected to my BB is there a way I can do a "Contact list" on my PC and then export it to my BB?  Thank you, Peter

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

A few things to discuss... so bear with me...

    (1) contrary to others how things, RIM does not provide desktop PIM. Others force you to use their PIM and only their PIM. RIM provides a driving software that works as a bridge between your PIM and the BB. See this compatible PIM KB:

    • KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager to synchronize

    (2) RIM provides a device switch Wizard to migrate from another SmartPhone to a BB... but only for compatible devices. See this KB:

    • KB05459 How to use the switch device Wizard to switch to another smartphone to a BlackBerry smartphone

    (3) If your old phone is not compatible with the wizard, then RIM more offers the possibility to import ASCII and CSV files. See this KB:

    • KB04312 Create and synchronize with an ASCII export file
KB11194 How to import contacts from a CSV file to the BlackBerry
    • Sorry, but RIM does no research on how to get your data from your old device and in ASCII format or CSV... it is a function of your old device.

So your choice is, IMO, to continue to use a desktop PIM for your data (and you should, IMO)... then choose a compatible PIM (from above). Then download your data from your old device and the PIM Office. Next, configure the BB to sync with the PIM:

Hi @Ark! Welcome to the community of BlackBerry Support Forums!

I think you mean security wipe. A security wipe will delete all your data and applications on your device.

    1. On the BlackBerry smartphone home screen, click Options > Security Options >General settings.
    2. Press the Menu key, then select Wipe Handheld .
    3. Select the include third-party applications check box to remove third-party applications. Clear the checkbox to keep third-party applications.
    4. Click continue.
    5. Type of blackberry, and press the enter key.

  • BlackBerry smartphones address email and password

My Blackberry Torch was stolen recently.  Now that I got my new camera and everything seemed to work OK.  I received emails addressed to it and who is "pushed".  I tried to download an app and had my Blackberry ID need I entered.  She would not accept my new password - so I asked to reset - but the email they were supposed to be sent to my blackberry address did not!  Does anyone have ideas, what can I do now?

Oh okay Ouch, the using the blackberry.net email account is not good. These emails cannot be found or read any where, but on the BlackBerry smartphone.

Personally, I never recommend using blackberry.net for this main reason e-mail accounts.

My best suggestion is to get a gmail or yahoo account for free and create a whole new BlackberryID.

Then, call your mobile operator Orange and ask them to bring this problem to RIM level two level tech support and get your old account merged or moved to the new BlackBerryID.

Yes, it's complicated. But it's the only way I see possible... all this because of the password reset. Yuck, indeed.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones cannot add or edit contacts on BB 8520

Hi, I am a beginner on this forum so apologies if this topic has been discussed before.

I gave my "old" Blackberry 8520 to my husband that I had updated.

He put the sim card from his phone Samsung with the BB.

Now, he cannot 'Add contact' or modify one of his contacts.

I had wiped the phone and he returned to factory settings before I gave it to him.

It doesn't have all of the messengers on it except BBM.

I'd appreciate your feedback / advice on that.

Thank you very much in anticipation.

    Hello!

    Try the following:

Just delete all applications (Yahoo, MSN or Live) email you may have recently updated / delete applications that were recently installed before the error started actually took place.

After that, disconnect the battery while the phone is always "on" and reboot the phone.

In fact I had deleted a whole bunch of applications to facilitate my upgrade of the OS that I had not enough memory on my device.

This not only helped solve my problem mentioned above, but also makes my phone restarts in less than 3 minutes (restarting earlier was done in no less than 15 minutes!).

My conclusion from the above incidents is to keep your apps in the bare minimum so that your phone performs the best.

I hope that solves your problem!

If your problem has been resolved then would you be asked to click 'Like' and accept as a 'Solution' that other advisors is not invest more of their time on this Message.

    Thank you.
