iPhone photo resolution...

When I take a picture with my iPhone 4s, who has a camera 8 megapixels, and open it in Photoshop, the resolution is set to a 72 dpi. How can I get the photo in Photoshop to a resolution that will allow me to print it?

I hope this is the right way to ask this question.

Photoshop is assigning a default of 72 iPhone because resolution (and other devices) do not define the resolution as PPI.

If you print to a printer inkjet, on the PPI 150 ~ to ~ 200 with no resampling to see what size you can print.

If you are printing on a laser printer or offset press, set the PPI to ~ 300 with no resampling to see what size you can print.

Photos on the iPhone and the Mac is now your photos in a library. This library is a database with several different views of the same photos.  The photos are stored only once, but predefined albums show you the pictures grouped by various criteria in order to access and find quicker.

    • Moments, collections, the years are grouping your photos of the site and sort them by date, oldest first.
    • All photo album shows all the photos, but sorted by the date you imported, so you will find always the more recently added photos at the bottom of the album.
    • The smart album 'Selfies' shows all photos taken with the front camera.
    • The panoramic album shows all the photos with extreme proportions.
    • The album film shows the pictures that were taken with the iPhone/iPad, transferred with My Photo Stream, or were recorded in the film, but not the photos sync with iTunes.

He has more albums predefined are special-purpose.  And you can create your own album to group your photos as you wish. Move albums in a folder, so you can more easily find your albums.  A photo can be in a lot of albums, but is only stored once. The albums do not need a lot of extra storage, because they refer to photos in the photo library.

  • Photos of iCloud is not equal to iPhone Photos

For the 1st time, I decided to take a look at my photos online on icloud.com--> iCloud Photos from iCloud complained that my storage was almost full.

When I compare my icloud.com photos with my iphone Photos, the content is totally different.

    I wonder why?

Until today I had used my photo stream on the iPhone and the opening.

Everything seemed to work as expected, IE: photos taken on my iPhone would be present in Aperture.

    Can anyone shed light regarding:

1 - Why the Photo content iPhone and iCloud online Photos are different?

2-if I delete the pictures online what will happen to the Photos on my iPhone or vice versa?

    3. can delete the photos online with no impact on my iPhone or opening photos?

Following my iPhone Settings (settings--> Photos & camera)

There is a difference, because your image library to iCloud is not toggled on.

I did a keyword search, but still looking for an answer only if there are more photo resolutions availabe than what seems to be the default 8MB or the option screen to 6MB.

    Appreciate the pointers...

PS. I noticed when setting for the size of the image by e-mail as reduced to 1.1 MB, but still...

the stock camera offers only what you listed, but also as you said it will reduce to the enamel and also automatically reduced for text messages. If you want total control for 1 MB up to max kicks framework you nned a 3rd party app and there are many to choose from. I use one called Camera ZOOM FX if I need something you have requested.

  • iCloud library not updated iPhone photos of Mac.  This happens frequently and I don't see a way to force him (he always says that he updated all 'on time').  I tried restarting both devices.

iCloud library not updated iPhone photos of Mac.  This happens frequently and I don't see a way to force him (he always says that he updated all 'on time').  I tried restarting both devices.  Mac is running latest update of el capitan, and iPhone is 9.1 (on hold until that the photos are actually saved to update to 9.2)

Try to go to iCloud.com to see if the elements are there and whether the device or the computer. That should indicate if the device or computer is not synchronizing. If the computer, try going to System Preferences/iCloud and stop synchronization. Wait a few minutes, then recheck the timing. If the device, go to settings/iCloud and do the foregoing.

Can I use iCloud photo library to save space on my device?

iCloud photo library automatically keeps all of your photos and videos in the original version, in high resolution. Follow these steps to choose how you store your photos and videos on your device:

    • On your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, tap Settings > iCloud > pictures or settings > Photos & camera, then select a storage parameter.
    • On your Mac, click on Photos > Preferences > iCloud, and select a storage parameter.

If you turn on [device] Optimize storage, iCloud photo library manages automatically the size of your library on your device, you can make the most of your device storage and access photos more than ever. • Archiving and access iPhone Photos

Howdy. I use iOS 9.2. I want to archive the pictures on my camera, then delete them off my phone to create more storage space. I want to do it without using a computer. If I click as indicated below to download my photos to my phone iCloud:

    (1) this will move all the photos on my camera roll to my iCloud account?

    (2) can I delete pictures on my camera on my phone and still access using the Photo app on my phone from my iCloud account?

    Thanks for your help.

That will transfer your photos to iCloud, but they will be synced to your iPhone. So if you remove the iPhone they will be also removed iCloud. You can choose a mode of optimization, where lower resolution versions of the photos will appear on your computer.

For what you describe, that is, have your photos only in an environment of cloud that you can view on the phone, you need a different solution. One option is Google Picasa with a companion app to upload photos on PicasaWeb. Shutterfly has a similar capacity. You can also use Dropbox, mettle and a new intriguing entry in the world of the cloud, upthere.com. I use up there for a few months. It comes with a camera app that will post new photos directly to your upthere.com account, but can also upload existing photos. It also provides the same services for music, if you want to free up the space occupied by your music library. And is currently free.

  • How can I delete all but 2015 to 2016 nigh (ios10.0.2) iPhone photos to free up space, after synchronizing all photos on my Mac (Yosemite 10.10.5)?

How can I remove all but 2015 to 2016 photos from my iPhone (ios10.0.2) for free space, after synchronizing all the photos on my mac (Yosemite 10.10.5) computer?

The fastest way I can think of would be to go to the Albums, go to all the Photos tab, highlight the photo you want to delete and press 'Select' in the upper right corner. Place your finger on the first complete line, you want to remove (if you have pictures that do not have a complete row that you want to remove these institutions, select them individually first), slide your finger on the line so that they are all selected, and then slide up so that it starts automatically at your old photos of scrolling. Once the photos you want to delete are selected, press the trash in the lower right. This will move them to your album "Recently deleted", then they will be always on your phone for 30 days, unless you remove them. If you are sure that you have already backed up these photos and does not accidentally still photos you want, feel free to remove them.

  • Is there a way to download photos from my iPhone to my photo library iCloud without having my iCloud all that downloaded on my iPhone photo library?

I just got a new iPhone 7. I was able to import all of my photos and videos of my previous iPhone 6 on my photo library to iCloud. I would like to import the photos that I take on my current iPhone to my previous library without going through my library iCloud just downloaded on my current iPhone. I would just like to see all on my Mac. Is it possible that it is possible? Thank you.

I'm not entirely sure or understand what you're asking.  If you import pictures from your device, it is stored in iCloud photo library.

If you're wondering if it is possible to store photos only in iCloud, and not the on your device, the answer would be no, because iCloud is not traditional storage cloud based, i.e. it is a sync/mirroring system, allowing you to synchronize all your photos on all of your devices and make them available instantly , or almost immediately in some cases.

  • Optimize my iPhone photo storage

My iPhone says that I have 20 GB of photos stored. I do not know if those that are stored on my iPhone or iCloud. How can I know who is who or both? I want to free GB of space on my iPhone. Thanks for the tips!

    Hello

If you use iCloud photo library and also allowed the option optimises iPhone storage (settings > iCloud > Photos), then iCloud photo library automatically manages the size of your library on your iPhone.

If you are not already using iCloud photo library (including the optimization option), then you can consider doing.

The optimization option attempts to free storage on your iPhone by keeping versions space saving on your iPhone and the full-size originals in iCloud. Photos and videos are optimized on your iPhone automatically, if necessary.

Note that when you use iCloud photo library, removal of a photo or a video on any device that uses the service deletes also all other devices that use the service, including to iCloud.

The following resources may help explain how the photos and videos are managed by iCloud photo library:
