iPhone: Photos and iCloud

Here's what I hope I can do: I use iCloud for save my photos of my iMac.

All my photos on my iMac will also my iPhone (5 000 + photos). It seems that I used to be able to select in iTunes that photoalbums I put on my phone. Now all my albums are on my phone and I don't see where I have something to say on the matter. (This is also true with my iPad).

I really liked being able to choose the albums I've had on my mobile... I have certainly need my entire photo library on them. Any ideas?

In addition, I see that if I delete a photo on my iPhone, it removes on my iMac as I certainly don't want to happen.

In a perfect world, I would like photos that I take on my phone to synchronize automatically with my iMac, but if I remove something from my phone, I don't want to remove my iMac. Ask too I guess?

Thanks in advance!

If you use iCPL you have nothing to say as you mentioned. If you disable iCPL (carefully with the removal of the pictures without meaning to, see link below) you can manually choose the albums to sync to iTunes on your computer to your iPhone or iPad, this is how I do it.

  • AppleTV is sharing all of my iPhone photos and not my album shared?

My model A1625 AppleTV running 9.2.1 and I am logged into my iCloud account and you want to simply display the photos uploaded to an album shared with iCloud photo library, which is turned on. This shared album works really because I'm interested in it through the Photos app on my iPhone and also to access the shared album on an old AppleTV running an older operating system (not even sure what version). I have turned off sharing photos iCloud and home sharing is turned off.

When I go into the Photos on the AppleTV (A1625) application it has options at the top, for Photos and Albums. There is no option for shared albums, and when I select all Photos or Album option at the top, it seems to be sharing EVERYTHING from my iPhone (all photos and videos).

    1. why he shows all the pictures and videos from my iPhone here? I don't have icloud, photo sharing is turned off and I do not think I PhotoStream on.

    2. why can I not access the shared album I'm looking for?

I've disabled the AppleTV and off to iCloud, photo sharing and turned it back, and it still does not work. Y at - it another option somewhere that I need?

    Thank you!

It is hard to tell from your description, that you have shot and where the parameters.

You need iCloud photo sharing turned on on the Apple TV.

If the shared album is new you need to disconnect to iCloud on Apple TV and sign my insert the again.

  • Evolution of the iPhone, backup and icloud

Hi all, I'll soon change my iPhone, and I want to back up only certain content such as messages and photos, without applications or settings, put them in the new phone. Also I do not quite understand some option in icloud in my phone.

    1. What is the difference between the Safari option in iCloud and the other located in icloud drive? Also, what is the content the other application downloaded from the store sync in icloud drive if the option is enabled? This is something I will never understand

    2. If you want to back up my photos and my messages to put in the new iphone, I have to do a full backup using iTunes or icloud, or there is a way to save only the 2 things? Or possibly make a full backup and then restore only photos and messages, but I don't know if there is an option to do so. For the pictures on that I think activate "icloud library" and then re - download on my new iphone, but for messages?

    3. now I have ios 9.3.1 on my iPhone 5, I won't be able to restore the backup if the new iphone ios 9.3.2?

    Thank you very much!

    Matteo

    Hello Matteo,.

1 - you don't need to so much backup data of safari at all. If you use your password will be that there anyway, if you're not, having own Safari in a new device could be a good idea to keychain. iCloud drive is another application, you can use it to store any desired data, whereas iCloud parameters in app use their own space, you can see it in settings > general > software & use of iCloud.

2 - when you save, you cannot back up a few apps or elements, you back up your device all or nothing. If you have the space available, use iCloud music library and photo library iCloud, so all your media go. Anyway, there is no harm in doing a full backup locally in your computer using iTunes, you can remove it once you have restored your device and will be likely to recover more quickly.

  • Photo and iCloud

If I drop a picture in pictures (sync iCloud on) it get stored on the hard drive? I don't want to take place HD but I don't want to see (and do it on iCloud).

If you import your photos into Photos for Mac application, it will be stored in the photo library. If the photo library is on your system drive, the photo will use storage indeed here. You can keep your photo library on an external drive and connect only to your MBA to import the photos and upload them to iCloud photo library.

Or, enable the option "Optimize Mac Storage".  Then the photo library will be low, because that only smaller optimized versions will be stored on your Mac and the original size will be in iCloud.

Or, do not use pictures for MAc, but download the photos using the web interface at www.icloud.com. You can use the Photos.app it to transfer photos to iCloud.

  • Photos and iCloud

It boggles me.  I realize.  I'm going with Photos of Google.  There is apparently no way to save the photos on the cloud and remove them from your device.  Incredible.

That's the idea behind iCloud photo library. It's a synchronization service, not a storage or a backup service. If this is what you want, then Google Photos will be suite you well.

I have several videos on my iPhone 5s (latest IOS) that have been shared by my family with me. I try to free up space on my iphone and would like to get out and send them to my photo to icloud account. How can I accomplish this?

  • A few photos from my iPhone and iCloud are missing from the Photos on my Mac.

I have connected my iPhone 6 to my Mac today to back up as well as importing photos to the Photos app. Most recent photos have been imported to the Photos app, but more of a period of 3 days (taken last week) did not appear. Missing photos are always available in my iPhone "all the Photos" album as well as in iCloud. I tried to disconnect and reconnect the iPhone several times, but no luck. I also took a new picture and plugged the iPhone in, and she who imported automatically.

I have OS X El Capitan 10.11.4 version and my iOS is 9.3.1.

My photo stream and iCloud, photo sharing are turned on and my computer with iCloud drive is on, on my phone.

Are there steps I can take to try to re - import the missing photos? Any thoughts on what is causing this problem?

A big thank you to the one who can give me some advice!

If the normal import process fails - get an account on OneDrive, Photos of Google or Upthere.com

You can download the images to the cloud via the phone services and download them to the computer

Or you can turn on iCloud photo library and use the synchronization feature to display the images in iCloud photo library on the computer

  • lack of photos and videos on newly purchased iphone 6s follows backup to icloud

Before buying a new iphone 6 sec, I did as stated and supported my old 5s up to icloud and itunes on my computer windows laptop. Everything seemed to be perfect with the new phone - all contacts, have been downloaded, but I just realized that the photos and YouTube videos are missing. I had four of the five short videos of my granddaughter practicing at the piano that were somewhat specific, but they no longer exist. The backup to icloud and my laptop from my old phone was conducted the same day. Not sure the number of photos I had originally but I have about 186 on my new phone with many of the missing.

    Please help me.

Were you sync pictures and videos to iCloud? Check iCloud.com to see if they are there.

Help! My icloud is connected on my two devices (iphone and ipad). I want my iphone photos to syncronyze with my ipad. But I don't want the photos from my ipad to sync with my iphone. What can I do?

iCloud is not configured in this way. If you are connected with the same Apple ID, photos from the two devices will be synchronized to iCloud and vice versa.

  • Hello. I so want to know if there is a way to keep the photos on icloud and get them deleted on your iphone, so that there is no problem of storage of the device

Hello. I so want to know if there is a way to keep the photos on icloud and get them deleted on your iphone, so that there is no problem of storage of the device.

iCloud is a synchronization system, not an external 'hard drive '. If you remove them on your device, they will remove icloud. To increase the available space, go settings/iCloud/Photos and select optimize iPhone/iPad storage. That will reduce the space required by 90% when it is fully effective.
