I bought a 6 ' parallel-USB cord and connected the printer to a USB port on the back of my Mac Pro.   CarbonCopyClone on an external drive in an external enclosure.  Upgrade than SL ElCapitan leaving the intact internal SL.  Start externally using the option key pressed at the start, do what you need with the iPhone, then stop and do what ever you need to again with SL disc.

  Cludgy, but it works.  I keep my SL still functional because there iDVD, but use updated OSXs for other purposes.

  I downloaded a program on my Mac (no app store unfortunately) called "get lyrical". automatically add lyrics to iTunes. Then in iTunes file > library > Update music library to iCloud. doing this during the last 20 minutes and so far it seems to work.

  Thank you for reaching out to the Community Support from Apple. I know how useful it can be to have all your devices on the network with a central printer, and I'd like to help offer a glimpse into what could prevent your of you using to print to your HP 6500 iOS devices.

  In order to print from a device iOS, the printer must be connected to the same Wi - Fi network and supports the Air Print feature. After some research, it seems that the 6500 HP does not support this feature directly. You may be able to find a solution based on HP in the App Store app, but this printer does not have Air Print capacity based on support documentation, that I could find at HP.
