Is 3A or 3B miniPCI

Hello.

I have a toshiba satellite P10 792. This laptop has a
Mini-PCI slot I would use. But the cards that I find on the internet say that are miniPCI-3 has or miniPCI-3B. In specifications manual laptop says just "miniPCI". I opened the bottom cover of the laptop to see if it's printed somewhere near the miniPCI slot.
But again, it says just "miniPCI" without specifying if it's 3A or 3B.
Today, I called the service of Toshiba here in Greece people and they said that Toshiba not only not gave them this information.

Anyone know anything about this?

Hello Antonis

Sorry, but I've never heard of mini-PCI 3A or 3B miniPCI and I put t know where you found this information, but I found useful information on your device and Satellite P10 792 is compatible with this parts.

  • Need help with the upgrade of the WLAN on Satellite Pro 6100 minipci card

Hello everyone, I desperately tried to update my WIRELESS card on my laptop SP6100, since it was delivered with a card minipci wifi-b, which is not fast enough today. s standards.

Each piece of the Toshiba official documentation mention the SP6100 has a mini-PCI type 3a slot, so can accommodate two minipci card a type 3a and 3B wifi.
But unfortunately for me, I discovered the hard way that it is absolutely NOT the case - I was put back by a fortune by buying costs for a type3 intel minipci wifi card, which does NOT at all on the laptop.

I spent an hour in unnecessary calls to the customer service from Toshiba, that I had to convince PCMCIA certainly isn't the same as miniPCI, and Mini - PCI cards ARE CERTAINLY replaceable by the user. She insisted that she could not be changed by the user of the system, but by toshiba themselves.

Could someone please please advise me on the type of wifi card that are built with the SP6100 laptops? I think is it AGERE brand, in the form of WLAN minipci card. I know that it IS certainly NOT miniPCI type 3.

    Help, please! Thank you.
And besides, every place that I tried so far appears only sell type3 miniPCI cards,
Other types of Mini-PCI cards are available to retail customers?

    Infinite thanks!

    Hello

You must understand that your model of laptop is quite old and right now the market wasn't available standard b. I'm pretty skeptical that you will be able to use the standard WLAN with G maps due to compatibility issues. On this forum, I founded several threads that people write about the problems of upgrading older models of laptops with the new wireless network cards.

In my opinion the best solution for you is to use a PCMCIA WLAN card. The installation should be easy and you can use the wireless network with faster data transfer adapter.

  • What for Satellite A10-PSA10A-3V1KK miniPCI WiFi card?

    Hello

I have an old Toshiba Satellite A10-PSA10A-3V1KK and I would like to add a WiFi card in the miniPCI slot.

I understand the initial documentation that the optional cards at that time were PA3212U-4MPC and PA3273U-2MPC (my favorite, as being compatible WPA). However, these references seem quite hard to find now...

Are there other, more recent references, 100% compatible with my Satellite A10, that I might consider?

    Thanks for your help,

    * CPP *.

As much as I know there is no references to the old models of laptops, and I don't think that old notebooks are tested with new material. So everything you can find about this is info you already have.

If you want to use the faster wireless network card using new WLAN standards you use PCMCIA WLAN cards.

    Hello

I checked some information about this device and it seems that you can only use standard Wi - Fi: 802. 11B.
In this case, you can use 802.11 b standard WLan cards. But perhaps a WLan 2200 b/g card will also work.

PS: Wireless cards are compatible rewards. the card 802.11 g is compatible with 802.11 b but not 802.11 b-> 802.11 g

You can upgrade your device with the minPCI wireless network card.

    Hello

To my knowledge the laptop supports dual-band built-in antenna and it was a 802.11(b/g) 13ch-minPCI WLan RTL8187B Realtek card.

The replacement of WLan should be possible, but it s very delicate because whole books must be disassembled to gain access to the WLan module

This can be done by a technician of the ASP.

But why you want to replace the WLan?

    Hello

Why you don t give us more information about your problem? We don't know what unit you have? Is the original part of card or you have built at least?

At the moment I can just recommend you to reinstall the unit with recovery media. If the problem persists, try to install the card separately with the right driver. Otherwise, you must change the WiFi card or test it with the other.

    Give us more information.

  • Toshiba Bluetooth stack miniPCIe Perripheriques

I would like to install a Bluetooth (or combo) miniPCIe card in a laptop with a bluetooth chipset supported by the toshiba bluetooth stack software.
And on the net, it is impossible to find a list of the supported devices.

Anyone can help with this, the list maybe 2-3 devices/cards as well?
I know the mod Bios software license and battery so it's not a problem - only my installed chipset does not support toshiba bluetooth stack software.

If someone can just tell what miniPCIe has installed in the computer toshiba laptop is already useful.

It s no matter what chipset you have.
Toshiba BT stack can be used in Toshiba BT devices.

It might be possible that n miniPCI module would not be supported by the BIOS, but it has nothing to with Toshiba BT stack support.

  • HP ProBook 4530 s: Hp ProBook 4530 s - WIFI with band AC under miniPCI-E

Hello, I have a problem with your HP ProBook 4530 s. I need to replace the WiFi card, I wonder if the card Intel® Dual Band Wireless - 7260 AC will work? Maybe someone knows about it and give me an answer? Thank you in advance. What about Adrian. Or maybe someone has a suggestion, what other WIFI miniPCI-e card supports bunch that AC will work on this laptop?

This isn't the first HP Service, just useful fellow users. The bad news for you, it's that the laptop is old enough to have a white list of BIOS that restricts wireless cards, you are able to install. The list is quite frozen in time to what it was when the laptop is new and that HP has decided to offer both. In your case, the best wireless adapter's part number 636672-001 Intel Centrino® Advanced-N 6230. It is a dual-band 2.4 and 5 ghz card, but not a 802.11ac compatible device.

  • HP 8530 P replacement integrated WLAN MiniPCI WLAN

I have a HP 8530p with integrated radio (Intel 5300). I prefer to use a card MiniPCI (Intel 4965). I disabled the wireless built-in, opened the hood, my MiniPCI card installed and booted up the laptop. It does not recognize the card somehow. I installed a second card, nothing. I activated the integrated card, which makes that work but still nothing for the Mini-PCI card. I looked through the BIOS attempts to find a framework to use the location by integrated report but found no one. I installed my Intel 4965 in another laptop and he immediately recognized and installed without problem. The two laptops using Win 7 Pro. What I am doing wrong with my HP? This should be such a simple system, but it's as if the slot MiniPCI slot is disabled or dead. Thank you.

    Hello:

    I guess I don't understand your terminology...

The wireless card you currently have (intel 5300) is not integrated. It's a mini removable PCIe card.

You tell me where this empty slot mini PCI is on the laptop. The only other empty slot on the laptop that I know is on the bottom, and it is also a mini PCIe location that houses the card WWAN (mobile broadband). This empty location has 2 antennas.

Here is the service manual for your laptop:

You can visually see all available places etc, and what are the supported elements go to them. Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 will be more help to you. I do not see all Mini PCI slots. I only see a mini PCIe slot for the card (Intel 5300) wireless network and mobile broadband WWAN card.

    http://bizsupport1.Austin.HP.com/BC/docs/support/SupportManual/c02030275/c02030275.PDF

You can use the cards listed in the service manual wireless and they must be for your PC with the HP numbers on them. If you try to install any other wireless card, your BIOS will give you an error 104. No supported wireless card. The computer will either start until you remove the unsupported card.

Around that, the only way is to change the BIOS for cards not supported wireless. I don't know how to do this.
