Is - a can remove the remaining files of IE7 after update to IE8

I've been running IE 8 for some time.  Today I was watching my drive and found a bunch of files under C:\Windows\ie7 and c:\Windows\ie7updates.  They are eliminated without affecting the performance of IE 8?  Just try to recover space on my hard drive.  All suggestions are accepted with gratitude.  I am running XP, not Vista.
Thank you

  • Helps to remove the remaining files after removal of CA security.

I tried to uninstall CA would not delete. So I downloaded the removal of CA security tool and it uninstalled the program. However he left 6 files behind and I tried to remove them. I get the prompt that I need permission to delete these files. I added "everyone" as a user with full control to try to remove that also, it did not work. I have also a pc tuneup program with a built in file shredder and it also has no effect. Any ideas?

  • Remove the unwanted creative cloud installed when updating CS6 (Mac)

I use several CS6 applications on my Mac (currently OS X 10.10.5, updated at El Capitan imminent), and today, I downloaded some updates when prompted by Adobe. (I do not use of clouds creative of products or services, I want to.)

After installation, I discovered that a folder called "Creative cloud" had been created and added to your 'Favorites' in my sidebar of the Finder. When I deleted the folder, a dialog box appears asking me to recreate it, but not identify what type of program had generated dialog! (I chose not to recreate). Adobe has also added a new point on my menu bar.

Why this software has been installed on my computer? What other changes he has? How can I undo these changes and remove the unwanted software?

I noticed that there is now a directory "/ Applications/Adobe Creative Cloud" on my computer which, thankfully, includes an uninstaller (although the uninstallation program is actually located a "/ Applications/Utilities/Adobe Creative Uninstaller.app of cloud cloud/Utils/creation"). However, in view of the events leading up to, I don't think convinced uninstaller eliminates effectively all unwanted software, that adobe can be silently installed on my computer.

More precisely, how to make sure this does not happen every time I then install an update of my software CS6?

I am particularly upset by that because I tried to read carefully what I was installing (even click on 'read more' or whatever the link says), and I met with absolutely no warning that Adobe was going to make these changes to my computer, or some way to give them. For me, which seems awfully close to the definition of malware. I was hoping that adobe would become more responsible on those issues, account held the incident in 2010 when they silently installed Growl to display promotional messages.

I hope someone can explain to me what was installed or modified, how can I delete/cancel the it, and how can I keep this from happening.

My hard drive is currently filled by PC DM files in my folder/Public user folder.  How can I safely remove the right files in this folder?  Vista Home Premium 64 bit is my os.

    Hi templar_39,

DM (Message Delivery) file types are not Windows files, they can be generated by a third-party program.

This particular file type is often associated with audio data and can be hosted on some cell phones to be used as ringtones or multimedia clips. To my knowledge, these files can be generated by your mobile phone.

Note: you can go ahead and remove these files only if you notice that the files do not contain any important information.

If this happens without connect you all devices (like mobile PHONES), this may be a virus or malware activity. You can run a virus scan to get rid of them

Step 1: A scanner online for any threat and try to correct

  • Can I configure to always remove the master file?

    Hello!

If I want to delete a file, I just remove it the cataloge, but to remove the master file, too.

If I use the button Delete, I get (boring) pop up, I want to do: (sorry, I have a German version, so I just try to translate)

    • Remove the hard drive
    • Delete (default selected)
    • Cancel

Is it possible to avoid this dialog box? Or at least a chance the preset button, so I just have to use the Enter key?

    In fact, I have to

    1. Press DELETE
    2. Press the left arrow key
    3. Press enter

It's a little boring and errors

    Thank you very much!

PS: I just discovered, that ALT + DELETE is a shurtcut to remove the file from the catalog. It would be greate to have a similar shurtcut to delete the file in the file system.

Alt Ctrl Shift DELETE. But use it with great care, if use you it at all.

  • I would like to know if there is any way I can remove the 32-bit and keep the 64-bit without harming my computer

I ran windows 7 installation on my computer using DVD who had 32 and 64-bit data and for that I currently have 32-bit and 64-bit installed in my computer. So I would like to know if there is any way I can remove the 32 bit and keep the 64 bits without harming my computer or stored data because now both bits is eating space on my C drive/partition!

    OT:

    Windows

Why do you think you have "32-bit and 64-bit" versions of Windows 7 installed?

If you installed the 64-bit version (which you will need if your computer has more than 4 GB of RAM and you want to use all of this RAM), you can see a few references to 32-bit architecture.  The 64 bit version of Windows needs these files in order to run software that is designed for 32-bit architecture.

Perhaps the most obvious instance is the presence of the following two directories:

C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files (x 86).  It is normal for both of these directories present in a 64-bit system.

  • I have to remove the duplicate files, but having problems by selecting more than one file in the player at the time.

I have to remove the duplicate files, but having problems by selecting more than one file in the player at the time. How can I select multiple files at the same time so I can just delete them. I used to be able to do this in previous versions of Media Player, but this function seems now blocked or unavailable. The problem is this: through previous use of media player, it plays all my multimedia files several times whenever a device support has been added. He would try to save the files on my main drive, but since there is not enough room this would save the files somewhere else. This happened several times, I suppose, because when I upgraded my computer and a media scan was conducted he found duplicates of all my media various times of at least 6-8. I've consolidated since my plates on 3-disc multi to, but have now records duplicated hundreds and thousands of duplicate media files. Previous versions of Media Player would allow me to select all files and then delete them both of the reader, but also from my hard drive. So now I'm stuck with more than 300 GB of duplicate media I have to search line by line through all my hard drives to find each duplicate both, unless I can get media player to do what it can. Any help in this area would be appreciated.

    Hello

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    2. is Windows media player files in double creation during playback of music files?

To delete duplicate entries, click on another feature tab in the drive (for example the current playback), and then click library.

If this does not remove duplicates from your library, you can use the Add to library dialog box to search computer to analyze a file on your computer the duplicate entries not valid-pointing. The player will remove invalid entries in your library that point to files that no longer exist in the folder.

Complete the steps above for files that are stored in the hard disks.

Method 1: Use the add to Library dialog box search for computers

    (a) start Windows Media Player.

    (b) press F3 on your keyboard to open Add to the library of the find computers dialog box.

    (c) click the Browse button to locate the folder on your computer so that your library contains invalid entries. Specify the location of the folder in the box look in.

If you are not sure what duplicate in your library entry is not valid, you can add a path column to display in your library. Specify the folder on your computer that corresponds to the path not valid file displayed in your library.

    (d) click on the Search button.

The player will search for digital media files and playlists in the folder that you specify and remove invalid entries in your library that point to files that no longer exist in the folder. If not valid in double entries point to other folders on your computer, repeat this procedure, specify a different folder every time.

If only a small number of duplicate entries exist, you can delete those invalid manually by right-clicking on the invalid entry, and then clicking Delete .

For large double-number of entries in your library (or if all your library is duplicated), it might be better to create a new library and delete the files.

    Method 2:

After you remove the duplicate entries, run the troubleshooting of Windows Media Library settings to solve this problem.

Open the troubleshooter in Windows Media Library

I want to remove unnecessary hardware - tv tuner, never use + it is takes tones of the interior space + aggressive heating because of a little grilled isolation looks around.

Is it safe to remove it?
    Thank you

    Hello!

I think that akuma is right that you can remove the TV Tuner, but it's a little tricky because must disassemble the laptop. That is why a lot of screws must be removed, and in my view it should be done by a technician of the laptop.

But what you can do is turn off the TV Tuner in If Device Manager you use it n t. The same thing that you can do with other devices you n t need, for example, the LAN or FireWire.
    Check it!

Normally, the TV Tuner doesn't produce a lot of heat. If your laptop is overheating, you should try to clean using compressed air stream. This could blow out the dust from the cooling fans.
