I've never had a problem with this printer so far. I started to print a page and he started as usual to make a loud bang. At that time there long light and the screen came out. I cleaned the cartridge of chrome and the MICR band. When I unplugged the power and then plugged it back it tries to start, but has a low hum/buzzing noise and nothing else. Any help would be great I bought several new ink cartridges for the A940. Thanks in advance!

  • How to pair Apple Watch again with an old cell phone is damaged?

My old phone was liquid damaged. How can I disable my watch pairing and pair it with my new phone?

    Hello

On your watch, go to: homescreen (via a simple press on the digital Crown) > (cog icon) settings > general > reset > erase content and settings.

Then match it to your iPhone via the standard setting process (you may be offered the option to restore from backup, if your iPhone has been restored from a backup of your old):

  • Most bang for the buck upgrade question

Hi all.  I am currently using VMWare Workstation for Windows v6.x and have noticed that when I have three open tiles, my machine seems a little slow.  Current specifications are:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750

    RAM: 8 GB

    OS: Vista Ultimate (64-bit)

    OS disk: Velociraptor 150 GB

VM disk: 1 GB Western Digital (all VMs are on this drive)

SMV (RAM): SCO UNIX (512 MB), Windows XP Pro (2 GB), Windows XP Pro (1 GB)

My question is the following, which would give me the best bang for my money:

    1. Upgrade to a Q9550.

    2. Allocate more RAM for the virtual machines (I currently use about 6GB with all the tiles running and what Vista takes on the host)

    3. Build a new machine with an i7 processor.

    4. Move virtual machines to a single Velociraptor.

    5. Move virtual machines to a RAID0 array (using two drives of 1 GB / 7200 RPM).  I know THAT RAID-0 has no redudancy; I would be back up critical files to an external drive of 1 GB.

On these machines, I do some scripting/small database unix (SCO VM) and especially the word processor (several documents) / some work with audio products/editing Adobe (WinXP VMs).

Thank you, in advance, for your input.

I would like to start with more and faster for the VM disks.

  • Cleaning the MICR band (loud bang of the carriage of the printer)

    Clean the MICR band

    More information
    Notice:
That you perform the following steps, be careful when handling the coding Strip as it can break easily.

It is possible that dust can gather on the coding Strip which will make it very difficult for the printer determine where transportation is on his trail. To clean the MICR band, perform the following steps:

    1. Turn off the printer and disconnect the power supply.
    2. Lift the cover of the printer.
    3. Using a dry, not fluffy, pinch the MICR band on the right side of the cartridge carriage and pull your fingers on the right side of the printer (Figure 1).

Figure 1: The band of coding to the right of the door-cartridges

      Note:
The coding Strip is a narrow band of clear plastic and can be difficult to see without direct lighting.
    4. Plug in the printer and the power.
    5. Open the lid to allow the transport of the cartridge to center itself.
    6. Using a dry, not fluffy, pinch the MICR band on the left side of the cartridge carriage and pull your fingers on the left side of the printer. (Figure 2).

Figure 2: The band of coding to the left of the door-cartridges

Someone tried for hours link my band of coding and finally found the way to do it after reading several postings on the web and my own trial and error. The key is to use a "dental mirror" that you can pick up at a pharmacy or store of material for about $5. (Maybe a small compact mirror may also work.) And you need based on the discussion there. (I used a head lamp). The problem is that you can't see the small located slot through which the coding Strip should go through the front of the printer. He is sitting behind the ink cartridges. This thin slot "tunnel" is fine a piece of rectangular plastic. You can feel the rectangular piece of plastic behind the ink cartridges, and looking through the dental mirror, you can see how small slots are on the left and right side through which the coding Strip must be threaded. After "seeing" these small slots using the dental mirror, you can feel them with the tip of your nail and then know exactly what you are aiming for as you then feed the MICR band by. (It made no difference to feed you the Strip from the left or the right, but the end of arrow to the bottom of the encoder stip must lead right when you later attach it to the wire tab). I fed the 'blind' to the band after I had formed a mental image of exacly what I was doing and now to be able to feel the small slot located I was aiming for with the tip of a fingernail. (It is difficult to work in a small space behind the ink cartridges, and if you have fingers and very big hands, it may be impossible. I didn't use tongs or tweezers because of fear of harming the MICR band.) The coding Strip should then be set at the end of the arrow towards the bottom to the right attaching to a flimsy looking wire on the right side of the printer. The left end of the coding Strip must be attached to a metal tab on the left side of the printer. You will need to retain traction on the coding Strip and manually push the ink cartridge sliding back from the road as you attatch both ends. (It's probably a good idea to carefully clean the stip encoder of all your fingerprints and ink dirty with a handkerchief once you get it back in place.) Be sure also to clean the metal bar the ink cartridges slide back, if you receive error message 0502) Be prepared for this be a very frustrating experience! You will be panicked by how many times it will take to put on the good coding Strip slot, it will be difficult to catch the end of the encoding on the wire tabs and metal band, and how you have to find a way to keep the tension on the band of coding up to one end falls that you attach the other end. But once you use the mirror to see where you need to screw the Strip encoding, and once you see the tabs of wire and metal that must be attached to the ends of the strip of coding, then YOU CAN DO! It takes just the persistence.

  • Laptop damaged when sent for repair

Thought I better warn people about the terrible service I received from Toshiba! I returned my phone to them for warranty repair. They arranged for UPS collect my phone Monday and I was sent an email Wednesday from Toshiba to inform me that they had received my laptop. Friday, I had a phone call to tell me that my laptop was damaged. Apparently, the hinge is broken and metal casing is badly bent and broken in a corner. The laptop let me in perfect condition, except for the touchpad works not that is why he has been sent for repair.

Toshiba told me that I am responsible for the repair costs and argues that it was not packed correctly, even if I followed their recommendations to packaging. They also said that it was not packed in any film bubble, a complete lie like air bubbles was recorded around the laptop.

I phoned UPS who say that Toshiba reported no damage and would have had to file a report. I also discovered that Toshiba do not take insurance when laptops are delivered with them! If I know that I would have never allowed my laptop to be sent to Germany. I asked for photos of my laptop to be sent to me and well that knows no ones what happened to it I think it has been unpacked and later dropped from someone at Toshiba. It may explain why it took 2 days after arrival to report damage to me and why Toshiba refuse to report the problem to the inverter!

I have contacted Trading Standards and legal advice, I'm just wondering if it happened to someone else? I wanted to let people know that when they send their laptops that they are not insured for damage while shipping.

    Sorry to hear that.
I really hope that you will be able to clarify this with the representatives of Toshiba.

  • control of hysteresis (bang bang) for thermostat in cDAQ

I would like to implement a closed-loop ON / OFF control with bang-bang control (hysteresis), as the ambient temperature. The loop could use NI9219 (cDAQ) unit to measure the temperature of the room feedback signal and use NI9401 (cDAQ) device such as a digital camera out of control (c). The output of control lights heater if the room is too cold (17 degrees) or OFF If the room is too hot (23 degrees). Hysteresis determines when the heating element turns on or STOP. For example, if the hysteresis is set to 5 and the temperature of 21 degrees, the unit starts at 17 degrees and OFF at 23 degrees.

I was able to fix it by taking the cartridge out, clean it carefully and then put it back. Then I went through the process of re-initialization of the printer, (take off the power for 15 seconds and re-apply the power while holding the # and 3 keys, continuing to press these keys until the printer send a message that he "is preparing to print").

I also had to restore connectivity as prescribed by the aid process.

  • What are the best "bang for buck" upgrades for my MSI m/brd?

    Hello to you all,.

This is post multi-question, my apologies if it is not consistent with the Protocol of this forum, I thought that it would be wiser, that post 3 different questions related to this topic. Hope somebody smarter that I can enlighten my brain electronically challenged!

Desktop HP My p6320y came w/a updated motherboard MSI 785GM-E51 (FX) military class II. There w/4 DDR3 DIMM slots. According to the manual, I can use "dual-channel" mode What are the advantages and disadvantages between DDR2 and DDR3, & single or double channel?
Right now, he has two modules of 4 GB memory installed in the first 2 slots (DIMMS 1 and 2)
The manual States certainly not for Exchange DDR2 & DDR3.  So, if I want to max out my ram, & run it in dual channel mode. I need to complete all 4 slots w/4 GB DDR3 DIMMs for a total = 16 GB of RAM.
Would execute my M/consultant w/16 GB max. two-channel mode. RAM has make my system perform significantly more fast/visibly better? Or I could use the cost of the 2 memory modules xtra in a different way to give me a clearly observable bump in performance?
So that had him drive performance, would upgrading my current CPU (phenom quad core AM3 2.7 Ghz) to something more 3.0 Ghz, be worth the effort & produce an observable speed bump?  Or do the two would be too much to kill the M/Board of potential?
Finally, the manual explains how overclock my FSB in 3 steps: 10%, 15%, 20%. Is this really a Hi-risk for ovr. / CLK. compared to the increase gained? Even on the low setting - 10%? Would be an additional fan counter the rise of heat, which allows a full life?

Thank you very much for any advice, Alan

My preference is a Samsung 840 Pro series SSD. I went from Windows from my hard drive to SSD with EaseUS Todo Backup ver 5.5 'Home' edition (Home supports cloning) which is what you need to do, in addition to your SATA I hope is set to AHCI and IDE mode AHCI is required to support the 'Trim' that all need units SSD to truly free disk space when a file is deleted.

It was modified a Hervé 65, air, fuel injected, forced exhaust headers, great FI pistons, to the special slippers and cam, suspension, shock absorbers and transmission.

  • New system advice - "Best bang for the buck."

Hi, I read through almost all the forum posts on versions of system and it helped me shortlist these two systems:

    • Intel i7 5820 k 6 core 15MB Cache 3.3 Ghz
    • ASUS X 99-DELUXE/U3.1
    • Corsair 32 GB DDR4 2400 BUS revenge
    • GIGABYTE GTX 980TI
    • PRICE = $ 2,000

    • 2 x Intel Xeon E5 - 2630V3 8 Core 2.4 Ghz 20 MB of Cache
    • K4000 Quadro graphics card
    • 32 GB DDR4 2133 Bus
    • PRICE = 3 740 USD

These are the only options available for me. I wish I had the 5960 x i7, but it is not available nor is 5930, so in the i7 range, I find myself with the 5820 k.

Dual Xeon system is Z640 HP. So what I have to decide is whether I should go for the increased clock speed, or more than double cores and the size of the increased cache.

If you can buy the 99 System x, you may pass the cpu to broadwell-e when its released in about 6 months. Broadwell-e 10 core i7-6950 x could be faster than the dual xeon.

If for some reason any you'll always get stuck with the k 5820 and money is not an issue of concern, the dual xeon will offer much more power on the 5820 k. it loses some of that air dual cpu power, making it closer to 50% faster than the 5820 k. the k4000 quadro is not good and should be replaced with m4000 gtx 970 or superior, or quadro or superior. the dual xeon can be as little memory for some adobe applications that want more memory by heart.
