Is it a GTX980 be much better than my 960?

One of my friends became one of the new Nvidia cards (1080?) and gave me his old 980 GTX super cheap. This update would make much difference in Photoshop CC 2015 compared to my current 960? I can see online test the 980 is roughly twice as fast, but I don't know if this applies to Photoshop somehow. I don't game anymore.

My configuration:

k monitor 4 running at full resolution

Win 10 64 - bit

i5-6400 2.7 Ghz

16 GB of RAM

GTX 960

For now, Photoshop is the most intensive thing I do on this PC. The small fan on my 960 is a bit noisy, and my friend tells me that his 980 is super quiet. In addition, I am considering possibly dabbling in some basic 3D at some point stuff.

Thanks for any help.

It can help the Adobe applications such as after effects and Premier, but also your games, far from a Photoshop goes I don't think you see no improvement. There may be some, but I expect that it is a major improvement.

There is a slight difference, but I would not say much better. Incorporate you the dynamic text characters.

I always run a clean install to clean any spyware etc. The driver supports the X 9 live is what it takes. • can not play videos more even if I have adobe flash worked before better than chrome or explorer

    Hello

I love firefox videos esp. Much better than the internet explore and chrome. Very stable and smooth. He played very well and then crashed. I thought it might be a few programs I uninstalled as shockwave who played hell with my computer. I uninstalled and reinstalled mozilla firefox and adobe flash player, but still could not play videos you tube, or golf revolution, etc. I took a screenshot, but I do not see an attachment to send you. It says I have to update adobe flash player or adobe flash player is required for video playback, which I have already done several times but it still doesn't appear in my firefox plugins. Please notify.

Have you downloaded the Flash Installer via this page?

Do you see the Flash plugin in its installation folder?

You should find the plugin Flash (NPSWF32_11_X_XXX_XXX.dll) file in this folder after you run the installer of Flash:

    • 32-bit Windows: C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\
    • 64-bit Windows: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\

  • The 70 d is significantly better than the 7 d in the management of the high ISO situations?

I have a 6 d and it really spoiled me with its low noise high ISO capabilities. I wonder if the 70 d is much better than my 7 d when it comes to managing high ISO. It has the same sensor as the 6 d and I really like this display on D 70.

It is not "clearly" better - you will not see the difference that you can with the 6 d and higher models.

  • Lightroom is really better than a bridge and ACR?

I use Bridge and ACR for years. I have been turned off to learning Lightroom, but feel I can do is not so much because it seems the standard for photo editing.

So I sat down and tried to understand, and it was a pain in my butt. I guess that's just the learning curve, but it is not as simple as I thought it would be.

Is it really that much better than ACR and bridge? Should I even waste my time to learn?

If you have a good Bridge/ACR workflow then technically has no interest that Lightroom if you compare editing capabilities. Lightroom and Camera Raw have both share the same raw processing engine. You can get the same results of both programs. I switched to Lightroom years because I just love some of the things in the interface is better I like to work with Camera Raw. But it's my choice. I take no sides of the cataloging features as much as I can in Lightroom. I use it mainly for the develop module features. And I want to print from Lightroom as well. I don't think you should feel loose or lower when you talk to other photographers, just because you use Camera Raw and Bridge. Tools can give identical results. It's mostly a matter of choosing which is best for you.

  • Image display bottom much darker than they are

I always liked Firefox. As a web designer and developer, FF has proved to be my favorite browser over and over again; However, since I've upgraded to the latest version of FF 6.0 beta, all background images on my html files saved on my PC screen a lot, much, much darker than they really are. IE normal poster and this is the first time that I had problem with FF and IE not. Please address. Also, FF also added in random around the anchor points when borders I hover over them.

This may be due to a problem with the profile for your monitor screen colors or color profiles embedded in images.

You can disable color management to test this.

You can set the pref to 0 on the subject gfx.color_management.mode: configuration page to disable color management.

You have to close and restart Firefox for the changes to take effect.

  • What are Service Packs? Can I upgrade to Service Pack 2 for free? If yes how? If I update it will help or hinder my system? Any pack is better than another?

Windows Vista Service Pack (basic information)

    Hello

I know this may seem a simple/stupid question, but I do not understand what are "Service Packs".  I don't know much about computers.

I have restored my laptop to the factory setting today and I reinstall my programs again.  I am trying to install a new program as well (Autodesk Inventor 2012).  The installation says I can't because I need Service Pack 2 and I only have Microsoft Vista Home Premium (Version: 6.0.6001 Service Pack 1 Build 6001).

What are Service Packs?  Can I upgrade to Service Pack 2 for free?  If yes how?  If I update it will help or hinder my system?  Any pack is better than another?

Thanks for the information and assistance that you can give.

    AstoriaBoro

You can install Service Pack 2 very simply - go to Windows Update and check for new updates - then install all available updates.

Once they are complete, return again (after a reboot) and do the same thing - repeat until there are no left.

Along the way you will be installed Service pack 2 :)

  • Why is windows 7 better than professional?

I was wondering why is windows 7 better than professional, because I want to see what features ultimate has this professional is not

Ultimate has some extra multimedia features, such as Windows Media Center.  It also has the ability to run multiple languages, I think. In addition, there is not much difference.  And if you do not need to connect to a domain, home edition Premium you will probably give everything that you need and want (and more).

  • Why the LR5 catalog is better than PES 12 organizing?

    Jim

I started using a trial version of the LR5.

I've been a regular user of the different versions of the EP over the years.

In general, I was pleased by the Organizer, & have various tags nested in each other.

I've never had a problem with it being unstable, and can usually find what I'm looking for.

(provided that I have correctly tagged it in the first place :-))

My first impression of the LR5 catalog is that it is not as intuitive.

I searched online for how to install the catalog & most of the discussion relates to catalogues how to have. -J' have already made that decision - just one:

So?  What are the features I am missing in the LR5 catalog that make it better than the elements Organizer?

    What do you think?

I am also a happy user of the Organizer, but I also use LR 4.4.

What I find interesting in LR:

-huge amount of customization possible and options (if you need it...)

-Ability to handle JPEG files as well as the raws (the Organizer doesn't let you open JPEGs in acr,)

-Smart ways to manage variants without copying files (virtual copies)

    -The most advanced metadata management

    -possibility to merge catalogs

-Much more supported by Adobe and user forums

-Advanced options in the output in the latest versions

What can be the subject of a debate, it's the difficulty of the learning curve, as well as the "robustness" of the software. The organizer has riddled many bugs (there were already several years before LR). The problem is that after having much more options makes more complex LR. For example, the database has three times the number of tables. It follows that LR forums are full of complaints about bugs or missing features... just because it's too rich and trying to satisfy the needs of each.

Several cases of problems with the Organizer are related to the function of backup that backs up the images and catalogs. Catalogues only backup LR. Backup of images is your responsibility. If you have problems, it isn't for lack of LR, it's yours.

I can't find a post I made to show the possible benefits of the Organizer, but it was just for fun.

  • PP CS5/5.5 overlay better than AE CS4?

    Hello world.

I think I read somewhere earlier that the chrominance in CS5 PP/5.5 is better than Keylight in AE CS4. In fact, the PP effect can be improved Keylight, but I do not remember this for some.

    If anyone can check this?

    THX.

    Paul

Keylight is still much superior, but Ultra key (the key effect I'm sure you're talking about) is capable enough and has the added advantage of being CUDA acclerated, so your keys to play in real time. It works best on images clean, well lit, well shot.

Keylight and Ultra are not related; Keylight is a third-party Foundry product, then that Ultra is derived from the Adobe of Serious Magic acquisition and their software saturation of inlay.

  • Rank() is really better than rownum for top-n-queries?

Several sources say that for databases Oracle rank() should be used instead of ' rownum < = not for top-n-queries. But here we have an application, where we have a lot of top-n queries are run on a large table with several million lines and rank() has a very bad performance. I get much better results when I use a query with rownum < = n, but the application programmer does not have to change it in the software because of these articles on rank() and rownum. I wonder, is it possible to find a better form of the rank () - request or an additional index, which gives me the same performance.

To explain my case, I created the following example (if you try it, be aware that depending on the size of your dba_objects you might need up to half of a free concert space in your space storage for this example).

    create the table big_objects
    as
    Select
    ASCII (m.alpha) * 100000 + o.object_id object_id,.
    owner of o.Owner,
    o.object_type,
    m.Alpha: ' _'. o.object_name object_name,
    SYSDATE-400+mod(100*object_id+99*ASCII(m.Alpha),365)+24/(o.object_id+ASCII(m.Alpha)) created
    o.Status
    Of
    (select distinct)
    Upper (substr(object_name,1,1)) alpha
    Of
    sys. DBA_OBJECTS
    where
    m Upper (substr (object_name, 1, 1)) between 'A' and 'Z').
    sys. DBA_OBJECTS o
    order by
    object_name;

    create index bigindex_1 on big_objects (owner, object_type, created);

analyze the big_objects statistical calculation table.

So my table looks a bit like dba_objects but with more lines, and I made a synthesis "created" date that is more similar to my actual case, where top-n designates a date of selection of the most recent records of a certain type.

This is the size of the segments on a nearly empty database 11 GR 2:

    Select nom_segment, bytes, blocks of sys.dba_segments where nom_segment like '% BIG '.

    BLOCKS OF BYTES NOM_SEGMENT
    -------------- ---------- ----------
    BIGINDEX_1 75497472 9216
    BIG_OBJECTS 142606336 17408

On my database, the example of table is approx. 1.9 Mio rows:

    Select count (*) in the big_objects;

    COUNT (*)
    ----------
    1884246

and about 1.4% of these lines have owner = 'SYS' and object_type = 'INDEX '.

    Select
    Count (*)
    of big_objects
    where owner = 'SYS '.
    and object_type = 'INDEX ';

    COUNT (*)
    ----------
    25896

But I want to find the most recent 10 index only for the owner of the SYS. I think that the typical rank() approach would be:

    Select
    owner,
    object_type,
    object_name,
    object_id,
    status,
    created
    Of
    (select
    owner,
    object_type,
    object_name,
    object_id,
    status,
    created,
Rank() over (order by created desc) rnk
    Of
    big_objects
    where
    owner = 'SYS '.
    and object_type = 'INDEX')
    where rnk < = 10
    order by ASC created;

Using the index, only the first two columns are used, all 25896 records I found above are read and ranked just to find the most recent of ten. Many unnecessary blocks are read and luckily all the necessary database blocks were already in memory. In our case real often enough a lot of physical reads are performed, which further aggravates the performance of the application.

In my example below with a ' rownum < = 10 ' all three columns in the index are used and the number of block receives is much, much smaller than in the rank() example.

I made this comparison with versions of Oracle 10.2 and 11.2 and the result was more or less the same. How can I change the rank() query so that only the small number of really needed blocks are read from the database?

  • Does anyone else have a problem with the left speaker is much lower than the right?

Any source that I use the left speaker is much lower than the left. If I put my finger on the right I can feel the pressure of air pushed but not by the left. Is it an iPhone defective 7?

    Hello, TopDog16!

Welcome to congratulations on getting a new iPhone and Apple support communities 7.  From what I see in your post, you have any questions on the stereo speakers in your new iPhone.  I would be happy to help you with that!

Indeed, your iPhone has holes on both right and left sides on the lower edge (on each side of the connector of the Lightning).  The holes on the right are only speaker on this edge of the phone, however.  The other speaker in the pair is at the top of the phone, where the cut is, just above the screen.  Check here to see if sound comes out.

This page has a large diagram of the iPhone of 7 speakers (in the section entitled "Buttons and external connectors"): iPhone 7 - technical specifications

Have a great rest of your week!
