• Creating a Web application for the first time with the database

  I'm new on using Dreamweaver, I used HTML in a notebook for my sites more than a decade. And a lot has changed since then.

  I am interested in creating a Web application and hosting it. I currently use Excel for my business to make our schedules used on a weekly basis. I am wanting to create a Web app equivalent to the Excel workbook that I use for a web only Annex myself and 15 years and most other companies can use to make their own calendars. I want to especially do so that I can keep adding features and update and bug fixing without having to force everyone to switch to a new Excel workbook whenever I have released a new version of it.

  Currently I can't fix or change anything to the workbook just because it's so formula and microphones intense code, it is too much time to re - write again.

  So here are my questions:

  • What resources would I need to create a Web application and to be able to a lot of people able to use it at the same time and not to worry others see their schedule, they create?
  • What are the services I need to buy, like web hosting? Would what specific things like MySQL or others I need?
  • Any person experience, what costs would I expect to spend on a project like this?

  * You must a good coder, PHP and a MySQL database. The encoder would require producing a the user authentication section, a section of the display for each user and a section change to edit/enter a program

  Please suggest why we of the php files in the apex? I think that the textarea spell checker feature is taken from 4.0.2 but there are still a few php found in apex bundle files and because of that there is a problem of vulnerability "upgrade to PHP version 5.3.12 / 5.4.2 or later."   You can delete the folder "Server-scripts". In more recent versions of the APEX of this folder is not included more.

  To my knowledge when we create a planning application and create the database, it creates a cube BSO.
  
  But we had a call today with Oracle and they suggested to use cube ASO with planning. Is it possible to have a cube ASO for a planning application?
  
  Then, in the same call we had with Oracle, they suggested using Smartlists for ASO essbase cube. Is it possible to have Smartlists for essbase applications. Cause SmartLists are drop downs, which can be used in web forms. How can we use smartlists in the worksheet? Using smartview?

  Typical measures Essbase are simular to a Smart list in the schedule. You can use it in ASO and BSO.

• How to create a new application in a VISION-based APEX

  Hi all
  
  I am a newbie to this tool. I am creating a new application with the wizard and choosing a report/form. I want to use a VIEW and not a table on the basis of the requests but do not see the display in the drop down menu to choose. In the screen itself, the definition of a page of the report and the form says that a user can update a table or a view. Yet, I don't see a way to choose the view.
  
  Can anyone make a suggestion on how to choose a view to base an application?

  Hi - on the report of the page attributes - that you show in your attached screenshot - you can select the columns to sort on the sort sequence as well as the direction of the sort, i.e. for a given column, you can choose to allow sorting on this column, what position this column must be in the sort sequence and whether to sort Ascending or descending by default (i.e. '1' means sort this column first and bottom-up and "1 desc") sort this column first and downhill). Don't forget that once you click on one of the headings of column during execution, it changes your sort settings and these settings are stored in your preferences, that is, they are used again the next time you log in your application and rerun the report.

  Databases are not "created on Oracle Application Express". Request Express is a component of a pre-existing database.

  What do you mean by 'Oracle Application Express (free version)'? If it comes to a workspace on the hosted apex.oracle.com, then it is possible to connect using the APEX in a web browser. If you mean a local installation of Oracle Express Edition, then Yes, a Java application can connect to it, but the issue is off-topic for this forum and should ask in the forum Database Oracle Express Edition (XE) .

  Must give up an APEX application and the underlying DDL associated with a database Oracle EE an Oracle SE and XE database.

  Patterns are required to export to accomplish this approach?

  Is there one method other than export patterns which would be preferably?  (for example export tablespaces).

  You should not deal with apex tablespace or schema APEX_040X00.

  Just follow these steps:

  (1) ensure that the APEX version is the same or higher in the target schema, upgrade if need be

  (2) discover patterns of the application (NOT APEX_XX) pump and export data those and import them into the target schema.

  (3) in the target database, create a different workspace and the link with the schemas imported analysis

  (4) export enforcement APEX of source database in the target database.

  If you expand the app, better to talk to the one who did it. Make sure that the Images, CSS, JavaScript files are added as objects of support and those that are then exported (to step 4).

  Basically don't worry about APEX_O40X00 scheme, as long as your Apex versions match, it will be the same and will be automatically filled with metadata in the application import and export performance.

  No, you can't. Cannot import APEX applications in a version of APEX older than what they have been exported from.

  To run 4.2 apps, you must:

  • Replace the database XE beta with the production version.
  • Upgrade the integrated version of the APEX to the last patch 4.2.

  If you want to try the latest packaged applications, get a workspace on the apex.oracle.com and install there.

  I want to create APEX via Script SQL pages. The main reason for having this option I have couple of applications that contains XML files for the definition of the screen where I can read all the properties of the screen (field types, sizes, legend, etc...)
  
  Is there a documentation or help tips where I can find the APEX page tables definitions? I found something as WWV tables but I couldn't understand it correctly...

  Check out ApexGen, the Apex Oracle generator. It allows you to use a PL/SQL API to generate a SQL script, similar to an Apex application export file.

  With ApexGen, it does not matter if you have 5 or 500 tables in your database, you can easily generate report for each table, and form pages very quickly.

• How can I create folders with Applications folder

  I have a brain injury, so I have memory problems and I would like to create folders in the Applications folder so I can consolidate all my apps in a single folder in photo editing Applications. It is roughly the same method, which can be done in windows in the Start Menu. If someone could tell me how I am able to achieve this goal, it would be greatly appreciated.

  Open your application and choose the menu bar > new folder. You can then drag and drop them into this folder. However, I wouldn't put Apps in subfolders as what update of OS X is unable to see them there.
