Is it legal to deploy to Tomcat ADF libraries?

Hello
I've seen some messages that describe decouple ADF of Weblogic and deploy libraries to other app servers. As I knew him, ADF is free, but not open source. So, is it illegal to deploy on Tomcat?
Thank you

You're wrong that ADF is free.

'Components' refers to Oracle TopLink and Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF), which consists of the following programs: Oracle ADF business components (aka business for Java components), the layer model of ADF the ADF shares Struts of data or data Pages, ADF UIX, ADF Swing (aka Jclient), ADF Faces components ADF Mobile, controller of ADF, components of visualization of data ADF and ADF security.
...
We provide an exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to use the components and the Oracle WebLogic Server only in order to develop a unique prototype of your application for your internal business operations and not for other purposes. If you want to use the applications you develop using components or the Oracle WebLogic Server for any data processing internal production or commercial purposes please contact us, or a reseller of Oracle, to obtain the appropriate license. If you want to use the program or components for purposes other than those expressly authorized under this agreement you should contact us, or a reseller of Oracle, to obtain the appropriate license.

So you're free to develop an application using ADF, but if you use it, you need a license, regardless if you use WLS or Tomcat.

  • deploy a 10g ADF on WebLogic 11 GR 1 material

    Hello

If I ask the Oracle support any application deployment of 10g ADF (with 10g ADF libraries) on WebLogic 11 GR 1 material is supported, the answer is no, not supported (SR 7771680.992).
(in reference to "Application taken servers supported by JDeveloper 10 g (10.1.3.x)" which mentions currently only WebLogic 8, 9 and 9.2
    See http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/11/as_supportmatrix.html#1013)

To the question why it is not supported, support of Oracle refers to this forum to get reactions from product management, maybe.

    My question
(q1) Where can I get information on why Oracle can't stand a 10g ADF on WebLogic 11 GR 1 material application deployment?

Comments from people who are planning to deploy a 10g ADF on WebLogic 11 GR 1 material or why Oracle should or should not support this is also welcome.

    Thank you very much
    Jan Vervecken

Support a specific combination of a fresh (for things like trying to the combination, bug fixes for this specific combination, etc.).
We have a certified ADF version that works with WLS 11 g - which would be ADF 11 g.
We have seen a large demand for ADF 10 g with certification of 11g WLS - so we have not invested to certify this combination so far.
If we see enough demand to justify the costs that we could do in a future update of JDev 10.1.3.

  • Problem with the use of the ADF libraries

    JHeadstart version: version 11.1.1.5.27

JDeveloper version: Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.7.0

    Scenario of

I'm trying to build an application using ADF libraries like below:

Common code - extension of framework classes

    CommonUI - LOV hides, etc...

Common model - ADFBC all entity objects

Several subsystems (view controller 'helper' projects)

    Main view controller project

I have created libraries according to the guide of FMW and have imported correctly into the relevant model projects and view controller.  In JDeveloper, I can see the libraries OK and able to build my screens without any problem using JHeadstart.  All of the subsystems are managed independently, i.e. I used JAG to create my application and can run the autonomous subsystems.  The problem comes from the main view controller project.  I have imported successfully all libraries in the project of main view controller and you can see all the controls data from libraries in the navigation Application in JDeveloper.  According to the JHeadstart user guide, I imported the NLS library by beams and have modified the JHeadstartApplicationDefinition.xml file to include my libraries (all names and paths are 100% correct).  Now when I run the JAG, it removes all the ServiceDefinitionRef I added to my library.  When I run the application crashes and JDeveloper reports the following error:

    "oracle.jbo.JboException: Houston-29000: Unexpected exception caught: oracle.jbo.ConfigException, msg = Houston-33005: Configuration DgmUC003ServiceLocal cannot be found."

"Caused by: oracle.jbo.ConfigException: ADFContext Houston-29114 is not configured to process this exception messages." Use the code of exception stack trace and error to investigate the root cause of this exception. Root cause error code is Houston-33005. Error messages settings are {0 = DgmUC003ServiceLocal} ".

DgmUC003ServiceLocal is one of my libraries.

    Can anyone help.

I tried many things to fix this, but cannot find an answer.

Interestingly, I once managed to recognize a library (I removed all but one subsystem libraries) and it worked.  When you use the JAG, it not to overwrite my amendment to the JHeadstartApplicationDefinition.xml of the file but when I added a library more he still replaced my amendment and gave the above error for the new library.

It was the JHeadstartApplicationDefinition.xml file before execution of JAG:

    < ServiceDefinitionRef location = "MasterServiceServiceDefinition.xml" name = "MasterService" / > "

    "< Any ServiceDefinitionRef ="true"name ="UC003Service"location ="... /... /.. /DgmUC003/UC003View/properties/DgmUC003ServiceServiceDefinition.xml"/ >

    "< Any ServiceDefinitionRef ="true"name ="sdService"location ="... /... /.. /SD/sdView/properties/sdServiceServiceDefinition.xml"/ >

That's what it was after completing JAG:

    < ServiceDefinitionRef location = "MasterServiceServiceDefinition.xml" name = "MasterService" / > "

    "< Any ServiceDefinitionRef ="true"name ="UC003Service"location ="... /... /.. /DgmUC003/UC003View/properties/DgmUC003ServiceServiceDefinition.xml"/ >

He removed the 2nd entry of library?, wouldn't not and gives the following error:

"oracle.jbo.JboException: Houston-29000: Unexpected exception caught: oracle.jbo.ConfigException, msg = Houston-33005: Configuration sdServiceLocal cannot be found."

It's very frustrating, I followed all the instructions to the letter.  I would not expect a very simple thing like that does not work.  Any help, greatly appreciated pointers.

    Thank you Trevor.

    Hi Paul,.

My apologies for not updating this thread earlier.

The good news is that it has been resolved, the issue seems to be with JDeveloper and not JHeadstart (or maybe just a combination of the two).  That's what I do:

    1. Edit the file JHeadstartApplicationDefinition.xml
    2. Reconstruction/compile the project (in JDeveloper which is Alt - F9)
    3. Do a "save everything" (belt and suspenders, probably not necessary as reconstruction not save)
    4. Output JDeveloper (close, file-> exit)
    5. Restart JDeveloper
    6. Run the JAG (the new library names entered in step 1 are NOT replaced)

This workflow has worked 100% flawless, I don't know what closure JDeveloper is but it works.

I also now always close JDeveloper after importation of new libraries in my main view controller project because I think it's also a question, perhaps all related.

I hope it works for you.

  • deployment of Tomcat error

Hi all, I am trying to deploy adf to tomcat, after a lot of testing to find good bookshops, finally I am facing these errors at the start of my application:

SERIOUS: Servlet.service () for servlet Faces Servlet threw the exception
    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: oracle.adf.view.rich.context.UriManager.addQueryParameters (Ljavax/faces/context/FacesContext; Ljava/util/card; Z Z)

looking for a UriManager class, I found that the addQueryParameters method was depriciated.

I want to know the name of library jar that contains the oracle.adf.view.rich.context.UriManager class. or someone has suggestions?

    Thank you

    Hello
    Sorry for the late reply.
You should have the same libraries in tomcat in JDEV

  • Deployment of desktop ADF ERRORS

    Hey guys;

I've been struggling with this for more than a week... I have read every single article and discussion about it and it's all the same responses with no result.

So I'm jumping with your help, we could solve this problem once and for all.

I'm doing an ADF Swing Desktop application... Here's what I did exactly:

1: create a new java desktop application (ADF).

2: creates a new business for a single table component.

3: create the new empty form

4: I slipped and fell from the data control component to my new blank form

5: I run the Jdev app it works but with a WARNING "WARNING: automatically initialization of a DefaultContext of getCurrent.»

(based on my reading this warning can be ignored)

    Now the deployment:

1: right click on the view > deployment > deployment new profile.

2: profile of type: JAR file.

3: JAR Options: * I checked to include the manifest file

    * in Main Class I clicked on browse and searched the main class that is App5Form you click on enter

now the area of the Main Class: view. App5Form

4: groups of files > new: * name of filegroup: LIBS

    * Type of file groups: I chose libraries > OK

5: LIBS > contributors: select all available libraries

    Untitled.jpg

    6: ok!

Now, when I try to run it from cmd using the command 'java-jar G:\MyWork\App5\View\deploy\App5.jar' it gives me this error:

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle, adf, model, binding/DCErrorHandler

    Can so help please.

The General steps are described in the docs on in this tutorial https://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/deployment/jar/build.html

However the other jars you use in your application will be the problem, as I have said before.

If you want to run the jar you build on another pc who installed Jdev, you must include all the pots in your. Then, however, you cannot run it (as I've already said). You can unpack the pot (a pot is a zip archive) and then run the normal command line java as you saw to run inside jdev. Git this, you must change the class path setting to point to the note unzipped in pots.

There are tools available which generate a native exe off such a jar file and follow the instructions below in the background of your. Not sure if there is any tool for free and if it works for your case, but Google will help you find such tools.

Another path to follow is java web start (https://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/deployment/webstart/).

  • Pass the parameter of application deployed in the ADF library jar file

    Hi all

I use JDeveloper 11.1.2.4.0, i have 2 Applications appA, appB.

I created in taskflow appA containing departments viewobject, appB contain stubborn workflows which has Employee.jsff page.

I have deployed appB as library of ADF jar file and add it to appA, I need to pass the id of employee viewobject, Department

    Kind regards

    Hello

In order to create a business application, are usually required several workflow tasks. These workflow will perform different functions, but they may have to communicate with each other. To enable this communication, you can use task flow settings, contextual events or sharing of the data control Instances.

    Please check below link

  • Deployment of business ADF on weblogic server application

    Hello

We create an ADF application. I had created a deployment plan and application (view and model) exported as EAR file. After that, I deploy the application on one different weblogic Server (other than the built-in). After you install the application on a weblogic server, I tried to start the application. The application threw an error:

Message icon - Error An error occurred during activation of the changes, please see the log for more details.

    Message icon - Error weblogic.application.ModuleException:

Message icon - Error java.security.PrivilegedActionException: weblogic.common.ResourceException: java.security.PrivilegedActionException: weblogic.common.ResourceException: no entry credential Mapper found for user password indirection = myschema for data source SamplConee

SamplConee is the name of the connection that I created. I tried to edit and save the password using the weblogic administration console, but not luck. How should we deploy the EAR file from an ADF application in order to maintain its properties?

    Thank you

    Kuldeep

You can configure the data source on WLS server: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/web.1111/e13737/jdbc_datasources.htm

Just use the same jndi name as in the module of your application.

(and do not use the XA jdbc driver)

I managed to solve the problem of deployment by modifying the deployment under the Application properties configuration:

    1. unselect Auto Generate and Synchronize weblogic - jdbc.xml deployment descriptors

2 deselect the credentials under Security Deployment Options

3 deselect users and groups under deployment and Security Options

I think auto generation of weblogic deployment descriptor - jdbc.xml was most probably the origin of the problem.

    Thank you.

  • Remote server Weblogic deployment of Application ADF

    Hello world

I created an Application ADF 11.1.1.2 and deployed successfully on the server remote weblogic 10.3.3 in the same instance.

I want to know can we create ADF application in an instance and deploy in remote weblogic server, create different instance data Source?

    Let me put it differently.

I created ADF Application using the test instance and now I want to move to PROD but I don't have access to the database of the PROD but I can do the DBA run the PROD database scripts that are needed for the application runs successfully, is there so that I can create using the test instance and creation of DataSource application in weblogic server giving details of database of PROD?

Is it possible I can give DBA access to enter the connection details of database for my application as change any file in ADF Application like Model.jpx?

    Please give me solutions?

    Thank you.

Your application should use a DataSource WebLogic - then you can define this data source on any server you want pointing to a database you need.

  • Problem deploying app JSF ADF on Weblogic

How can I deployed ADF BC Application JSF on two machines
I want deployed part of model logic business on one machine or ViewController part on another Machine
How can we establish the same deployment descriptor and application deployed on two machines

The first question is why do you want to split the two layers into two separate machines?
Most of the deployment that we keep both on the same machine, and if you have two machines available for you you clusters.

If you want to continue to do - you have to expose your AM as an EJB - see the remote section of AM properties. I think that the online help will have more information on that.

  • Dependencies of ADF libraries in unresolved 12.2.1.0.0

I work in the ADF since 11g.

In the previous version when I add a library shared the ADF to the project, that add the ADF library dependencies.

After upgrading to the new version 12.2.1.0.0. This does not work, then I get compilation errors.

    Example:

    1 SharedComponents

    Dependencies:

    Deploy:

    sharedComponents.jar

    2. commune

    Dependencies:

    sharedComponents.jar

    Deploy:

    .jar

    3 MyApp

    Dependencies:

    .jar

In previous versions, when I put le.jar, it resolves dependencies libraries ADF, sharedcomponents.jar added. In the version present this is not works, then to fix I need to add to the MyApp dependencies on libraries of the adf ('sharedcomponents.jar', '.jar')

There is a current SR for this problem. If you have a valid support contract, you can watch Bug 22456256 and open your own SR mentioning this bug.

The solution is to include the dependent libraries manually to the project.

  • ADF libraries dependencies

    Hello

    JDev 11.1.2.4

My request is based on several workspaces.

    Toolbox has guava as a dependency-> ToolBox.jar

CustomComponents has guava, deep cloning (3rd party clone lib), ToolBox.jar as dependencies-> CustomComponents.jar

Common a guava, ToolBox.jar and CustomComponents.jar as dependencies

I have in my common workspace, select the model project and click the refresh icon. A new ADF_Library_Dependencies.library file is generated by JDev.

    The content is:

    <? XML version = "1.0" encoding = "UTF - 8"? >

    < JLibraryNode nselem = "JLibraryNode" class = "oracle.jdeveloper.library.JLibraryNode" deployedByDefault = "true" xmlns =" " http://xmlns.Oracle.com/JDeveloper/110000jlibrarynode "> "

    < classPath >

    < entries >

    "< item path ="... /... / lib/cloning-1.8.5.jar ' jar-entry = "" / > ".

    "< item path ="... /... / lib/objenesis-1.2.jar ' jar-entry = "" / > ".

    < / input >

    < / classPath >

    < docPath / >

    < locked > true < / locked >

    Dependencies libraries ADF < name > < / name >

    < sourcePath / >

    < / JLibraryNode >

and in the Panel of the message log I get:

These elements of ADF library jar are now in Model.jpr

    {

    file:/C:/Home/framework/trunk/toolbox/toolbox/deploy/Toolbox.jar

    file:/C:/Home/framework/trunk/customcomponents/customcomponents/deploy/customcomponents.jar

These are in the project as a result of your jar ADF imports:

    Cloning de.../CustomComponents/CustomComponents/CustomComponents.jpr

    }

Why this file is generated? How to disable?

    Thank you

    The ADF_Library_Dependencies.library

is automatically created by jdev if you add a library that is dependent on an another lib that you currently not in the class path. This also happens if you refresh the project, jdev them checks the dependencies and adds missing the ADF_Library_Dependencies.library jar.

To get rid of the library, you can only add the missing pots in one of your libraries one and add this lib to your libraries and the class path.

  • Problem installing 11.1.2.4.0 ADF libraries on stand-alone Weblogic 10.3.6

    Hello world

I was really struggling for the last week to install the latest patches to use ADF 11.1.2.4.0 on Weblogic 10.3.6.

I install a new server Weblogic on Solaris 11.1.  I followed Note 1328698.1 , step by step and everything seemed

install without errors.  When you try to deploy a simple application of the ADF (just a button, with no model project), I get noclassdeffound MapProxyServlet class.  I have

get the same error when you try to run 'EM.

If I look in the tasks, I can see that the class exists in the DVT - faces.jar.

If I add all the libraries of the ADF to my ADF project, everything is fine, as expected.

Please help me with any direction on this issue.

    Thank you!

    Chris

Sorry, no, I do not use Solaris, I use Oracle Enterprise Linux 6.4. So you might found a bug in the solaris patches.

You should ask management to check this. You have no problem to install 11.1.2.3.0 in Solaris, I assume that something is wrong.

Yes, the web service is ideal to address things like that.

    Have fun.

  • Caching of javascript ADF libraries

    Hey,.

Currently we are cached our files css and js custom Apache (for X hours) level.

We do this based on the path (which is < path > /style/ < other directories >) and it works fine.

Now my question is can we do for specific js libraries 'internal' ADF (located in adf/jsLibs /) without breaking all the features?

JDev 11.1.2.3.0 (which runs from 11.1.2.4.0 at the end of the year)

Instead of ADF faces using myFaces

You don't need to do anything, ADF implements cache internal javascript and CSS styles automatically during about a year.
