Visual C ++ 2005 has been installed because you already have installed a program that needed. If uninstall you this program may no longer work.

    Hi RoxRox,

Microsoft Visual C++ is an integrated development environment and installs the runtime libraries needed for programs that rely on them. This means that you have installed programs that use several of these libraries and installed the runtime libraries needed for programs, whatever they may be. If you uninstall them, whatever the programs depend on these specific libraries will fail.

Ask yourself what MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB954430) and MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KD973688) I was able to delete them?

Do not delete one of them.  They are there for a reason.  The amount of space, you can free up is negligible anyway.  When you can buy a 1.5 TB for $90 hard drive, it's a waste of time and effort to worry about a few megabytes.  And if you delete something you need, the consequences can be disastrous.

    By the way 1 TB = 1 000 000 megabytes.

    Good luck.

  • Installation of an earlier Version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2005

Is it safe to install the old version?

I'd appreciate any help. Thank you.

Each software package requires C++ is designed for a particular version of this.  You can have several copies of C++ on your system because only this application that needs a version "will call" for her other applications using the other version can run at the same time

I have 6 versions of C++ on my system without conflicts, but my system is winning 8.

  • Cannot install microsoft visual C++ 2005 on windows 8 pro 64-bit

    Hello to you all,.

I recently updated my computer to windows 8 Pro 64-bit and today I had to install Matlab as I need it for my work.

The first step in the Matlab installation process is about installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable, but the progress of the installation stops with the bar very near the end. The progress bar stops moving (but continues to work the animation on this) and it is just there for something like 10 seconds, but there also two or three minutes. Then the installation window closes without any error or confirmation that the installation was successful. In the control panel appears an entry "Microsoft visual c ++ 2005" but it is, in fact, does not work. Installation of Matlab does not and if I start it again it's the same thing again.

I tried to install C++ by Microsoft Web site directly, but the same problem occurs, and more no error report is given.

    any idea?

    Thank you very much

    Filippo

    P. S.

Installation of a later version as the C++ 2010 or 2012 works very well, but Matlab seems very stubborn on the installation of the 2005 version...

I have did this after 2.5 hours of web searching and try and - in case of failure.

In the end I found a similar position here on the community where a 'fix it' program was proposed, a fact to solve the problems of installation/uninstallation. I don't have the page open more, but I'll post again here when I find.

It should be noted, however, that the 'fix it' program did not find any problem on my machine, and he says that nothing has changed, but then I restarted the computer and ran the Setup again and this time it worked.

At the end of the day, I don't know how this problem has been solved, it surely wasn't the reboot only as I restarted several times during the 2 hours that I've been sitting here, but nevertheless, it seems to be ok now.

    Dear Sir or Madam:

After I installed a new PDF converter software, I noticed that another Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Software has been added to section Add / Remove Programs of my Windows XP Home Edition with Service Pack 3 desktop computer when I was browsing all installed programs in the Add / Remove programs.

The first is Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable, version: 8.0.56336 4,61 MB.

The second is Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable, version: 8.0.61001, 5.28 MB.
