  I decided to buy a U300s. Since it is not an optical drive and therefore does not come with any installation media, I'm a bit confused how I could backup the drive so I can later restore to the default settings.

  Is there a way to copy the content of the internal on a USB to allow SSD to boot on the USB key? Is it possible to restore the SSD in the exact state wherever it was when it left the factory?

  A little more detail...

  I plan to install Linux on the U300s and didn't want to dual boot Windows. So I'll be reformatting and using the entire disk for Linux. However, there are a few rare times where I might need to start Windows (for example BIOS update Setup). Preferably, I would like to have a USB collecting dust somewhere that I could start in these rare cases.

  I wonder if something like this might work:

  1. Start a new U300s with a live Linux USB flash drive
  2. Use the dd to clone the SSD on a portable USB drive
  3. Install Linux
  4. Start Windows from the USB drive cloned as needed

  Would this be something like this work? I prefer to do all this Linux because I have very little experience with Windows (I can barely do anything), but use Linux for 15 years and more.

  Using the software onekey recovery start in windows, there is an option to save an image of the disc on a DVD external U300s of origin. It's tedious, but you can use a virtual DVD drive to achieve. I found a free and set the size of disk backup 8 GB or something, then ran the backup saying onekey recovery backup on the external virtual drive.

  Take a look at this and previous pages of the forum to get info on how todo it.

  Only problem now I guess that could recover from that backup, because it's too much to be burned onto a single DVD. Some combo of virtual disks again and maybe an external USB drive.

  Some customers may be more than two weeks then between a sync. We would like to backup the database on the MUC itself incase of corruption and be able to restore it and add the syn before the corruption or the problem.
  
  We are looking for a solution and not lost any given upadte or insert by the customer (not doing a complete refresh before the crash).

  The program Dell Back Up and restore basic version is available free of charge. This version allows you to perform backups and recoveries of your data, but the storage would be your responsibility.

  Backing up/restoring the Postgres database in vCO device 5.1 is similar to the backup/restore of VCSA as described in the article above, with the following differences:

  • location of the database->/var/lib/pgsql/data
  • EMB_DB_INSTANCE,EMB_DB_USER, EMB_DB_PASSWORD-> take a look at the /opt/vmo/appliance/dbd/create_db.sql file

  Backup the device the same as you would yourself. iTunes will take care of everything for you. I use my iMac to back up my devices to families who use four different ID of Apple and iTunes keeps everything separated and organized. Note that if you intend to restore the device from backup, it must transfer purchases to the Mac if your mother has applications that you do not on Mac. Alternatively, you can use iCloud on his device to create the backup, and then use iTunes on Mac to restore the device to unlock, and then restore the backup to iCloud.   If you have the data synchronized in Outlook as a backup, you will be ok. You can also use the backup and restore utility to perform another backup of the databases on the device.

  I just got a message from WINDOWS on my screen saying WINDOWS found a problem on my computer which needs attention.

  When I clicked on the dialog box, I had another box titled "Reports on the problems and solutions" with a message saying that HP Backup and Recovery Manager has stopped working properly - an update is available that solves this problem.
