Is it possible to convert specific pages in gray scale in a PDF?

We got a job for our client on PDF printing. Probably created in Word. It is about 3/4 color and the rest black and white. Problem is that Word creates "intense Black", which triggers a color printing on our color copier. If it was made in InDesign and done properly, it would be just K and the copier which recognize and give us a black click only. Obviously, color costs that many clicks more black clique if I want to specify say pages 50-53, 58-59, 66-78 etc and convert only these pages in real gray-scale so that the machine can recognize as grayscale and give us a black click. Is this possible?

Acrobat Pro X 10.1.7 on OS x 10.8

Thank you!

I have created Preflight > Fixup for this scenerio a couple of times.

I found that if the area of the document (or type?) was the RGB, that as shown will not work. I have a version for rgb, but just converted the document to CMYK when I finally ran it.

Any correction seems to apply to the entire document. (@Adobe - why?) Let me define a range of pages in the page range area)

Transfer pages from one to the other after that use would be necessary, but less expensive than Pitstop for occasional use.

I expect that the Copier, driven by a TEAR, allow page ranges to be defined as cmyk or grayscale.

With our Fiery I use mixed to set levels of gray in a joint task. (Joint is not available if however imposing in the INVESTIGATION period)

  • How can I open to a specific page or the destination of a PDF using Buddy API Xtra?

    Hello

    I work with a CD ROM catalog that uses the Buddy API Xtra to open PDF files when the user clicks on a link. The customer wants to be able to open to a specific page in a pdf file.

    I can open a pdf file using the baOpenfile() Buddy API function, but I'm unable to open to a specific page when I add #page = 4:

    baOpenfile("@\pdfs\Powder Cores\Magnetics_Powder_Core_Catalog_2011.pdf#page=4","normal")

    I also tried to work with the code below, which seems to me it should work... I did not know that the game "open..." "it was a function of Director.

    on mouseUp me

      pageNum = 4

      theApp = baShortFileName(baFindApp("pdf"))
      theDoc = baShortFileName("@\pdfs\Powder Cores\Magnetics_Powder_Core_Catalog_2011.pdf")

      theArgs = "/s /A page=" & string(pageNum)   & "&pagemode=bookmarks"
      -- (translates to "/A page=4" in this example)

      open theApp && theArgs && theDoc

    end

    Thoughts?

    Thank you in advance!

    The problem with _player.open is that you can not add any command switches.

    A possible solution would be to use Valentin Shell Xtra:

    http://Valentin.dasdeck.com/Xtras/shell_xtra/win/

    (You will need to copy the xtra in the directory Configuration\Xtras of the Director and together with your projector).

    Using this xtra, your code will become something like this:

    on mouseUp me

    pageNum = 4

    PAP = baFindApp ("pdf")

    theDoc = _movie.path & "pdfs\Powder Cores\Magnetics_Powder_Core_Catalog_2011.pdf".

    theArgs = "/A" & CITY & "page =" & string (pageNum) & "= OpenActions" & CITY.

    shell_exec (PAP, "open", theArgs & theDoc)

    end

    BaShell boyfriend may also work, but I have not tried.

  • Is it possible to insert a page in multiple locations within a pdf file that has been created or what I need to do one at a time?

    I work with a few hundred pages into several pdf files very important we try to enter our system of records management.

    I know that I can insert the separator page before or after a page individually, but when you have a large file (200 +) pages, a fact which is just under the name of your time by printing the file and do it by hand.

    Does anyone know if you can insert a page into several locations say start at page 1, then insert each odd page it after?

    I use Adobe Acrobat 9.

    Thank you

  • Is it possible to add a button that will open an attachment to a specific page in its own window?

    I have two PDFs generated from Framemaker.

    PDF1 is a user's guide.

    PDF2 is a test plan document.

    I want to include the possibility for the reader in PDF2, open the guide of the user to a specific page (topic) if they need to access detailed information about a test item.

    In order to ensure that the PDF2 player has the user's guide, I thought I want to implement an attachment under PDF2 PDF1.

    By browsing the ' net, I found that I can add a 'link' (rectangular clickable area) on PDF2 which, when clicked, will open PDF1 in its own window to a specified page number. GREAT!

    But... what I want to do is to place a * key * on the PDF2 (with a tag) who will perform this task (open PDF1 to a specified page in its own window). However, I am getting lost and does not know how to do this (or if this can be done at all).

    Pointers would be appreciated :-)

    Thank you.

    Then... I thought about it (of course, * after * post the question.) Sigh) and given that the post is now here forever, I thought I should share my solution, for what it's worth.

    In PDF2, with PDF1 included as an attachment:

    1. Rich Media > Add button.
    2. Button to place on the page.
    3. Open the properties of the button (double click or right click > properties).
    4. Click the Actions tab.
    5. Select the Action, select go to a page view.
    6. Click Add...
      (This opens her create go to view dialog box.)
    7. Double-click on the attachment (PDF1).
    8. In the attachment, scroll to the desired page.
    9. In create go to view dialog box, click on connect.
    10. In the Properties dialog box, click Close.
    11. Reopen the Properties dialog box, go to the Actions.
    12. In the action pane, click "Go to a page in another document" (the action that I had set earlier).
    13. Click on change.
    14. In the target Document section, select 'New window' field.
    15. Click OK.
    16. Click Close.

    Hey, one thing I tried, even if it is pretty kludgy.

    1. Reproduced on page of the Muse blog
    2. Copied the specific URL tumblr in the posts that I wanted to make a link to
    3. Make the iframe URL in each new page addressed to the URL of this blog post-specific tumblr.

    Just a thought since I couldn't figure out how to make the direct iframe to tumblr anchor or something similar.

  • Is it possible to give each page in a pdf document a specific set of print settings?

    I have a complex document (catalog), which involves an impression. There are several different print settings required and each is specific to each page in the document. For example pg 1 is alone in color, page 2-3 is a duplex in b & w, page 3-8 is a duplex in color, etc... Is it possible to give each page in the pdf document a given set of print settings and print the entire document as a whole?

    Hi jennyskop

    I guess that's not possible... It is necessary to restore the print command and select respective pages and their settings!

  • How to select specific pages of a document in PAGES?

    How is it possible that I have to go these problems to print specific pages in a document using a Mac.  I just want to scream!  My only options are to print 'ALL' or 'FROM' that correspond to a range.  For example... in a 10 page document, I can print OF page 5-8.  I don't want to print a range!  I want to print pages 2,4,7.

    What I'm missing here? Thank you very much!    MACbook P

  • Is it possible to convert the T61 system so that it can use an infrared remote control?

    Is it possible to convert the T61 system so that it can use an infrared remote control?

    Canon and many other manufacturers of consumer electronics, provides instructions on the operation of the optional accessories in the manual of instructions for the accessory.  Manual user for the primary device will usually include a page that lists compatible accessories that are available for the device.

  • Selection of a specific page

    When you visit a Web page that has several pages of data, there are frequently boxes at bottom of each page that all allows you to select a page number, previous, next, or last. If there is a lot of pages, usually as only a few are displayed. How can I select a specific page if this page is not shown.

    For example - A place has 20 pages of information. Display this pages 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, previous, next. How can I go from page 1 to page 14 without walking through 'next' 13 times.

    It depends 100% on how the site was built.  If you send me a link, I could tell you how (or if it is possible).

    For example, this page 'answers.microsoft.com' was built to have a box to type a page number.  But he has his own fault: when you type the entries on a Windows Phone, the keyboard has no "enter" button, and the Web page with no button 'print' next to the box, it is impossible to go to a page of a Windows Phone number.

    Similar design concerns hit the other types of sites.  Sometimes, you can add a number to the URL if they use URL query strings. Sometimes there are other options. But again, everything depends on who built the site, and how they chose to do.

    Is Acrobat Pro just for us. We have an employee handbook that needs editing. A part is current pdf, some of an earlier version. You want to get all in a manual, the table of contents automatically adjust and links to specific pages of the table of contents.

    Acrobat Pro is certainly not the right tool for editing. You want to change the manual using the source - MS Word files for example. Once you have the full changes including OCD work as you want, Acrobat Pro is the tool to convert the source document to PDF format, and ensure the accessibility requirements of 508 - and preferably ISO 14289 (PDF/UA) - are met.

  • Is it possible to convert an application from 12 c to 11g?

    I use the 11.1.2.4 and the 12.1.2.0.

    If I have an application built with 12.1.2.0, which includes all specific features 12 c, is it possible to convert it into 11.1.2.4?

    I ask because I have a development environment that is 12 c, but a Production environment that is 11g and I'm not sure that we will be able to improve the Production environment

    Thanks in advance...

    It is possible, but not an easy task. As 12 c uses new tricks, must test everything with great care. You might find a few things that you must rebuild add that they will not work in 11.1.2.4.0 (for example, the components that are available only in 12 c. If you read the who of new doc for 12 c and you find something that you used, are preparing to rebuild this part.

    First thing to try the ID to open the project in 11.1.2.4.0 and see if you can compile and run the application.

    I have a document that has two languages alternating pages and I've read the document I have to scroll the page the 2nd language. Is there a way to delete / hidden specific pages of a document to display with player XI?

    No, no, unless the file has been specifically put in place to allow that. With Acrobat, you could extract the pages as a new file, but it is not possible with the player.

  • E-Mail specific Page in a PDF file

    I was wondering if it was possible for a user of e-mail/submit a specific page of a PDF document. For example, I have a 14 page PDF and instead use a button to send email the complete PDF, is it possible to e-mail a specific page? Keep in mind, the user at the other end would be to use Adobe Reader (I know, this could be done easily if the user has Adobe Acrobat). Also if there is such a function, do you believe it would work on a mobile device or a single office?

    Thank you!!

    No, not possible with the player.
