Is it possible: use BI Publisher with Oracle Express?

I'm a new user, trying to learn BI Publisher (standalone).

I installed Pulisher BI OK. I installed Oracle database Express
(for Windows) on the same PC with no problem.

Where/how do I connect / relate the two?
I would use BEEP with the HR schema.

Thank you!

Tried the same thing and Yes operate. Used

Database driver class: oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver
Connection string: jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:XE

Hope that helps.

    http://www.Pitss.EU/fileadmin/Pitss/images/de/White_Papers/White_paper_BIPublisher_WebServices.PDF

But I need to know one thing, as mention in link, weblogic user/pwd in the java code for authentication with BI Publisher, above

My Question here, what is the best way to manage authentication with BI Publisher while integrating with Oracle Form?

I think, in a document, just to mention for example,

It will not be advisable if keeping the user weblogic/pwd in Java code, at the end of this java code becomes a jar file and deployed to the server and then downloaded to the client computer. ensure that completely and the values are hardcoded, if the password change question once again, this means having user/pwd in jar will never be a good solution.

For a quick overview, I'd do it keep advice the user/pwd in db in encrypted form and access to oracle form with decrypted and pass the value in the api ReportServiceClient.CallRunReport)

If you feel, every time you need to access user/pwd of db and decypte it, that I advise you here, get user/pwd when set in the context of db and out of context with decrypted.

Another may be the best idea.

  • Publish with Oracle distributed Document Capture in table update

    Hi all
I installed ODDC and configured with Oracle 11 g 2 for the validation of the document.
I have table with 4 fields IE id, the c_number, the content, the mime_type. I save the image on content than the blob data type.
When I import and send the document to WebCapture screen I get document send successfully. But the data are not engaging in the database table.

The pak file are genereated in "Document / Capture/pages/ClientAcces.

How I do commit these database files?

I'm missing something in the configuration? Please suggest.

It is unlikely that distributed Document Capture Oracle (ecNetService) Service did not start because it is responsible for the treatment of pak file and it does not start automatically after installation.

  • using the following with oracle erp system

    Hi all

Does anyone have experience in the use of the Infor ERP LN with oracle. They are completely compatible... the reason why I ask is to make a good argument why our society needs oracle when migrate us to our new ERP system infor ERP LN. currently sellers are trying to make us change to sql sever.

The seller itself should be able to tell if they are certified against Oracle. I would do certainly official confirmation from the supplier it themselves, otherwise you might find yourself in a lot of trouble if it turns out that he is not certified and you have major problems.

Saying: "I asked a guy on a forum" would do nothing to help keep your job in this case...

  • VCSA 5.1 with Oracle Express Edition?

    Hello

is it possible to use VCSA 5.1 with Oracle XE? Do you have experience with this?

    Thank you

    Pavel

Sorry, I'm not an expert on Oracle licenses

This Oracle licensing FAQ can help you out: http://www.orafaq.com/wiki/Oracle_licensing

I think you could take the Oracle Standard One maybe? Although it is limited to only 2 CPU sockets, so if you ever want more CPU, you will need to purchase another license.

  • Link to database for MySQL with Oracle Express

    Hello Oracle Community,

I made a post on this topic already in the section general, but here is the best place for my question. My goal is to access a mysql to oracle server. Some info about my system and what I've done so far:

    Windows Vista 64-bit
    Oracle Express 10.2

-installed 32-bit DNS ODBC driver for the database mysql, tested and it succeeded, the name is CHANCE
    -created a new file in the folder admin/hs initLuck.ora, prameters are: HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO = CHANCE HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL = OFF
    -new section in the listener.ora: (SID_DESC = (SID_NAME = CHANCE) (ORACLE_HOME = C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server) (PROGRAM = hsodbc))
    -new section in my tnsnames.ora: CHANCE = (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = tcp) (HOST = GOGAPC01001)(PORT = 1521)) (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = CHANCE)) (HS = OK))
    -inexplicable the listener
-Do a bit of luck, success of tnsping
    -created a link of database: CREATE DATABASE LINK LUCK24 CONNECT TO 'user' IDENTIFIED BY 'password' USING 'LUCK24 ';
    -tried to do a simple select statement: SELECT COUNT (*) FROM customers@LUCK;

and there I get an error message:

ORA-28500: connection between ORACLE and a non-Oracle system has sent this message:
[Generic connectivity using ODBC] [Microsoft] [ODBC driver manager] Der Datenquellenname wurde nicht found, und're wurde kein Standardtreiber angegeben (SQL State: IM002;) SQL Code: 0)
    ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines of LUCK24

    can anyone help?

    Ikrischer

    Ikrischer,
On which platform do you have installed the drivers 32 bit and HSODBC? He was on a Windows 32-bit platform? It is not supported to run the 32-bit software on a Windows 64-bit platform.
There were some problems with versions 10.2.0.3 and earlier that are similar to those you typo - problems with bigint and select count. These are laid down in the 10.2.0.4 group of patches, so you should apply to your ORACLE_HOME 10.2 directories and see if the problem still occurs.
However, as already said HSODBC 10.2 is now desupported you need to find to install 11.1.0.6 DG4ODBC and then apply the 11.1.0.7 patch group which also solves the problem.
If you have access to My Oracle Support then see this note.

Select columns MySQL Bigint use HSODBC returns an incorrect value when you use ODBC MySQL Connector (Doc ID 401086.1)

    Kind regards
    Mike

  • Create barcodes in 2d (Datamatrix) using BI Publisher in oracle Apps 11.5.10.2

    Hello

Thank you for taking the time to read this post.

We try to create 2D (datamatrix) barcodes in BIPublisher report. We are on Oracle 11.5.10 applications and BI publisher is 10.3.4.1

Follow the instructions on the links following but still unable to generate bar codes in the output.

    https://blogs.Oracle.com/XmlPublisher/entry/2d_barcodes_cracked

    https://blogs.Oracle.com/XmlPublisher/entry/advanced_barcode_support

A few questions before asking the real problem I am facing:

1 oracle have built-in support for the creation of codes datamatrix 2D barcode in BI Publisher (in an application environment)? Or do we have to pay third party (such as IDAutomation) software for encoder classes?

    2. is there a built-in support for generating 2D barcodes in Oracle reports in an environment of 11.5.10 applications?

    Thank you.

    Kind regards

    Vincent

You will need to use the Desktop Publisher tool to create the model for use in an application environment. Only the Desktop Publisher versions listed in the Doc of MOS are compatible with EBS - other versions can cause issues like that appeal to you.

  • is possible to connect db with sys/sys as sysdba in utility SQLPLUS

    Hi all

    I use windows 2000 with oracle 10.1.0

I need to connect to the server through SQLPLUS. I can connect the system/manager@instance_name

The user of the system, I can not able to query > journal list archive; Im getting error as authorization denaid.

is all possbilities it to log on as superuser (sys/sys as sysdba) in SQLLUS utility.

    Thank you

    Connect sys/sys@instance_name as sysdba

Using the password file in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs, connecting via SQL * NET

    Connect sys/sys as sysdba

Uses the DOB Protocol to connect to the database to deal directly and uses OS authentication, which means that you can use any username or password, it doesn't matter, even connect / as sysdba - it will always connect to the SYS schema without worrying. To do this, your account must be in the Group SYSDBA. (S/n - Linux, OSDBA - Windows).

See the documentation standard oracle to create a Windows password file.

When you created the passwd file, you can reset the password help

    sqlplus / as sysdba
    alter user sys identified by 'password ';
