    Florin,

Make sure that you use the relevent to instructions for your version.
If you use 4.0 - you probably want the same script - with use of APEX_040000 appropriate.

  • Upgrade of the Apex 3.2.1 (mod_plsql) at Apex 4.0 with Oracle Listener

    Hello
We have a few applications in the Apex 3.2.1 (i.e. mod_plsql) which have not been displaced in Production yet. We intend to move to Apex 4.0 with Oracle listener as soon as they are available (we don't want turn on any web server mod_plsql). What will be the migration process? My apps work and look the same when I opened the Apex 4.0? All the features, formatting, etc. will be lost?
I heard that there is a Migration Wizard, but there is no information available.

When Apex 4.0 and Oracle Listener comes out? Summer 2010?

I would be recognizing all of the information you have on this subject.

    Thank you

  • Apex 4.2 with Oracle HTTP Server 12 c?

So, we have already implemented Oracle APEX with Oracle HTTP Server 11g Oracle WebTier utility. These are all works well.

However, we wanted to try with the latest version of the stand-alone version of HTTP. So, we installed and configured the server for HTTP from Oracle 12 c (Stand Alone). However, we do not find instructions for things like where to copy the images, which dads.conf to edit etc. The current facilities seem to be oriented with the older, version 11g.

Someone at - it a source for instructions to update configuration APEX with Oracle HTTP Server 12 c?

  • Link to database for MySQL with Oracle Express

    Hello Oracle Community,

I made a post on this topic already in the section general, but here is the best place for my question. My goal is to access a mysql to oracle server. Some info about my system and what I've done so far:

    Windows Vista 64-bit
    Oracle Express 10.2

-installed 32-bit DNS ODBC driver for the database mysql, tested and it succeeded, the name is CHANCE
    -created a new file in the folder admin/hs initLuck.ora, prameters are: HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO = CHANCE HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL = OFF
    -new section in the listener.ora: (SID_DESC = (SID_NAME = CHANCE) (ORACLE_HOME = C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server) (PROGRAM = hsodbc))
    -new section in my tnsnames.ora: CHANCE = (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = tcp) (HOST = GOGAPC01001)(PORT = 1521)) (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = CHANCE)) (HS = OK))
    -inexplicable the listener
-Do a bit of luck, success of tnsping
    -created a link of database: CREATE DATABASE LINK LUCK24 CONNECT TO 'user' IDENTIFIED BY 'password' USING 'LUCK24 ';
    -tried to do a simple select statement: SELECT COUNT (*) FROM customers@LUCK;

and there I get an error message:

ORA-28500: connection between ORACLE and a non-Oracle system has sent this message:

    ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines of LUCK24

    can anyone help?

    Ikrischer

    Ikrischer,
On which platform do you have installed the drivers 32 bit and HSODBC? He was on a Windows 32-bit platform? It is not supported to run the 32-bit software on a Windows 64-bit platform.
There were some problems with versions 10.2.0.3 and earlier that are similar to those you typo - problems with bigint and select count. These are laid down in the 10.2.0.4 group of patches, so you should apply to your ORACLE_HOME 10.2 directories and see if the problem still occurs.
However, as already said HSODBC 10.2 is now desupported you need to find to install 11.1.0.6 DG4ODBC and then apply the 11.1.0.7 patch group which also solves the problem.
If you have access to My Oracle Support then see this note.

Select columns MySQL Bigint use HSODBC returns an incorrect value when you use ODBC MySQL Connector (Doc ID 401086.1)

  • VCSA 5.1 with Oracle Express Edition?

    Hello

is it possible to use VCSA 5.1 with Oracle XE? Do you have experience with this?

    Thank you

    Pavel

Sorry, I'm not an expert on Oracle licenses

This Oracle licensing FAQ can help you out: http://www.orafaq.com/wiki/Oracle_licensing

I think you could take the Oracle Standard One maybe? Although it is limited to only 2 CPU sockets, so if you ever want more CPU, you will need to purchase another license.

It's the kind of question that can be answered with My Oracle Support | First Oracle Support or you can write to the APEX [email protected] about this application development team.

Also, see the "Support" section at the end of the page Oracle Application Express - downloads.

  • Double authentication with Oracle EBS at the APEX problem

    Hello

I am currently working on a project to integrate with Oracle EBS 12.1.3 4.2.4 APEX. We have completed the recommended white paper Oracle configuration.  I joined at the request of the APEX of a responsibility of BSE, when I click on the page of the APEX of the EBS, it navigates me to the login page of the APEX, and after I entered my credentials is to show the "No data found" error on the page. Then when I click the OK button again once he navigates me to the login page of the APEX and is validate my login information, allowing me to enter the APEX successfullly.

It's really us boring for double login controls. Appreciate your help with this problem as soon as possible.

    Deployment environment

    ===============

    Database: Oracle 11g (11.2.0.2)

    Version APEX: APEX 4.2.4

    Oracle EBS Version: R12.1.3

Application servers: Apache TomCat 7.0.56 (for APEX), Oracle HTTP Server (EBS)

Web listening port: Oracle REST Data Services (2.0.6)

Authentication: Custom authentication (login page validates users EBS)

    Thank you

    Sudhakar

It seems that the constructed URL is not allowed. We EBS do not build a valid string. You can see where he puts "CallFromForm" and then adds "& p =...". "URL.

The white paper mentions a required patch, you need else to resolve this problem.

Use the gateway FND. If you do not need to pass parameters through your form to Apex, Oracle now provides a GWY.jsp which allows you to launch the Apex. Install the patches of R12 12316083 and 12726556. Then use the GWY.jsp based on your shape as described in the white paper "Extending Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 using Oracle Application Express".

Patch 12316083 is mentioned in the white paper, you are missing the 12726556.

    Description

This bug solves the problem of pitcher APEX, at the launch of a whole page of APEX

Oracle E - Business Suite forms according to the user interface. An additional url

parameter 'CallFromForm' used to be added to the URL of the APEX, which was originally

    APEX page to fail.

  • Oracle APEX Performance on Oracle Express Edition

    Hello

I was wondering if someone can help me, I'm looking to change my environment hosted on a virtual server. The server running VMWARE Windows 2012 R2 and Oracle Express Edition with the latest version of the APEX.

    The server would be:

    3Gig Ram

    25Gig storage

    1 virtual processor

Someone at - he no idea how it would perform? I currently have applications with up to 200 people using the system at a point in time. Performance is critical obviusly and I don't want this virtual solution if I'll take a drop in performance.

Just to clarify, the only reason why I'm looking to spend are all my clients are located in South Africa and I am currently hosted in the United Kingdom. The shift would be seriously reduced if I moved to accommodation in South Africa.

    Thanks in advance.

    Andrew

    Hi André,.

I did a few tests of performance and scalability with APEX on XE with JMeter (https://jmeter.apache.org/)

The limitation of the XE is mainly database size (I think only 11 GB for user data) and max 1 GB for the database altogether instance.

When you use the EPG of APEX I started to run into trouble after 20 + sessions at the same time.

When you use the earpiece of the APEX, I was able to push a tot of factor 2 3...

After that XE has usually crashed due to problems of memory.

Everything depends on the application and how active users are their session but more importantly could give you a good indication that XE isn't the way to go for 200 users working at the same time.

Maybe check jmeter (very easy) with your application and the config to see when it crashes. SE1 could also be a cheap alternative.

    Thank you.

is 12 c, possible to manage the PDBs with Oracle Enterprise Manager Express?

Yes - but you will not have the COMPLETE management functionality. See the FAQ doc:

    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/database/manageability/emx-CDB-1965987.html

Can I Plug and unplug the PDBs with EM Express?

No, EM Express does not all CBD management capabilities in DB 12.1.0.1.0.

    Review ALL sections of doc

    How to find the URL?

When I run select dbms_xdb_config.gethttpsport (double); on a PDB file, it returns no rows.

Have you set up EM and set the port to the PDB? Again - see the FAQ doc

    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/database/manageability/emx-intro-1965965.html#A5

How can I configure EM Express on CBD and APB?

Users can configure EM Express at the root and container of the PDB, with each container using another HTTP/HTTPS port.  When it is connected to the root container, the information displayed are the entire database, including all PDB files.  When it is connected to a PDB file, displayed information is limited to the PDB data.  For more information, see the section on EM Express on the CBD.

  • Is Oracle Apex 4.2.3 certified with Oracle EBS 12.1.3?

Is Oracle Apex 4.2.3 certified with Oracle EBS 12.1.3?

Yes, it is certified as stated in the white paper Extending Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 using Oracle Application Express .

In this white paper are the listed prerequisites:

The white paper is available from APEX OTN Page > collateral > white papers or My Oracle Support (Note 1306563.1).

  • APEX with Oracle Containers for J2EE

    database: Oracle 11g Release 2
    operating system: Windows Vista
Java application server: Oracle Containers for J2EE (OC4J)
HTTP server: Oracle Application Express Listener

I'm trying to get Oracle Application Express Listener to run using Oracle for J2EE (OC4J) containers. As I was doing this, I noticed that the option Oracle Containers that I try to use would not actually work with APEX, so I need to know if he can or cannot be used. Also, I try to get the Oracle Containers 'oc4j' command works, and I can't do that because I need to set JAVA_HOME and ORACLE_HOME, but I don't know how.

For the Oracle Application Express listener, the documents indicate that we can run in stand-alone mode, or run using a Java Enterprise Edition application server. Choice was made to run using an application server Java Enterprise Edition and based on that there are three options:
    1 oracle WebLogic Server
    2 oracle GlassFish Server
    3 oracle Containers for J2EE (OC4J)

Choice was made to see option #3, Oracle Containers for J2EE (OC4J).

The listener APEX 'Guide installation and Developer', there is a link for containers of Oracle to J2EE (OC4J), so I followed the link to the Version "containers for J2EE autonomous distribution - Production versions of Oracle, ' 10.1.3.5.0 and downloaded and started working on the installation. But just recently, I noticed that on the same page it says "NOTE: standalone OC4J is purely for use in a standalone environment.» It cannot be used to replace the OC4J running in ANY existing installation of Oracle Application Server 10 g".

TWO QUESTIONS: If it cannot be used, then why not option #3 Oracle Containers for J2EE (OC4J) even an option? And why the "install and Developer's Guide ' takes us to this place to download Oracle Containers for Distributions Standalone J2EE?

When I first came to this page, I did not notice what I did just notice, so I downloaded and started working on an installation of Oracle containers. To use it, we must set two environment variables ORACLE_HOME and JAVA_HOME. Because these environment variables are not defined, whenever I try to execute a command, like 'oc4j-start' or 'oc4j - help', I get the following error:
    C:\Oracle\oc4J2EE_extended\bin > oc4j - start
Error: JAVA_HOME environment Variable is not defined.
    We can run java.

I need to get the oc4j command works. I'm running on Windows Vista. I tried to add "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_27\bin;" the environment variable path, but that did not work. He, however, has allowed me to easily use the command "javac" to compile a java source file in a .class file.

Then, I tried these two statements in the command line:
    C:\ > SET JAVA_HOME = C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_27\bin
    C:\ > SET ORACLE_HOME = C:\Oracle\oc4J2EE_extended

I am tired and then the command oc4j again, and it still didn't work.

QUESTION: On Windows Vista, how to set ORACLE_HOME and JAVA_HOME so that the oc4j command works?

    Summary:
1 can I use Oracle Containers for J2EE (OC4J) with Oracle Application Express Listener?
    2. If Yes, then I use the correct version, because the download page says that it "can NOT be used to replace the OC4J running in ANY existing installation of Oracle Application Server 10 g."
    3. How do you define the ORACLE_HOME and JAVA_HOME on a Windows Vista operating system?
    4. How can I get the oc4j command works?

I let the ORACLE_HOME variable systemic intact (i.e. on the value of the database) and set the local value for the variable in the script to start for the OC4J. So if you use oc4j.cmd, you could put a whole script, like start_oc4j.cmd which could look like this:

    SET JAVA_HOME=C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_26
    SET ORACLE_HOME=D:\oracle\oc4j_extended_101350
    "%ORACLE_HOME%"\bin\oc4j.cmd -start

And you can start your OC4J with this script wrapper without disturbing the system wide ORACLE_HOME.
