  I used to be able to double-click xpj files from Windows Explorer to start RH7. However, after you have uninstalled RH6 (who had been sitting dormant for months), I lost the file association for that file type.   Go to http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/06/22/reset-and-fix-broken-windows-vista-file-ext-and-type-associations-include-exe-com-sys-zip-lnk-folder-drive/ and highlight the EXE option and click or double-click the EXE to fix the EXE files file association.  Do the same for LNK.  I think that it can take care of your problem 'open with '.  Then the other problem is more a problem.
