  I'm working on the planning of a LiveCycle ES2 for JBoss ES4 for JBoss upgrade, where we seek to install ss4 on new hardware (Windows Server 2008 R2).

  The plan is to install and configure ES2 as the previous installation and then run the upgrade of the ES4 on top.

  We are looking at installing on servers from pre-production to the sides of the current production environment. The idea being that:

  • The application that uses the LiveCycle services will continue to use the current production environment until a failover of occurs, during which the consuming application will be directed to the new environment.
  • The test version of the application that consumes the LiveCycle services will be directed towards the pre-production environment so that it can be properly tested by users over a period of time.

  Here is some additional information on the current environment:

  • Only LiveCycle modules configured are as follows: (LiveCycle is simply used to create PDF files from various formats of documents e.g. Office, software of CAD)
    • PDF generator
    • Reader Extensions ARE
  • We currently have three production facilities of LiveCycle, each with its own dedicated database
    • Balancer load A is used to distribute requests to each server. Each server has no knowledge of the other two servers and effectively operate independently each other.
  • Persistent storage of Document uses the GDS
    • Similar to the configuration of database, the GDS is specific to each facility and is a local folder on the server
    • These range from records of about 5-75 MB in size and the most recently updated files are since 2009
      

  
  

  My question is based on the current installation of LiveCycle, is necessary to migrate the existing databases\GDS or can we simply create a blank database, and use Configuration Manager to create\update appropriate tables? If a data migration is required, is this repeatable (i.e. migrate us once during a pre-production test and then a second time for a production deployment)?

  Going through your notes, it seems that it would be OK (because it is only PDFG and RE), if you come to create an empty database and use Configuration Manager for create\update the appropriate table. In addition, it is sure to re - run Configuration Manager in order to LiveCycle point on a server different database\database OR manually edit data sources via the application server console. Please do not forget to watch the new documents ss4 API(in case you are using the LC APIs to invoke the services through your application) to check if something has changed and test application yor with ES4.

  FB 4 is not part of the installation of LiveCycle. If you want to customize the workspace or to write Flex applications in LiveCycle, you would need to Flash Builder needs to be installed. If you are evaluating the software, you can download a trial from the home page of adobe.com under download software for free.

  If you buy a component under license of LiveCycle, you more to install up to 5 workstations with FB 4 software

• How to open an XML file in Adobe Reader on a form created in LiveCycle ES2

  I need help to conversion or reading an XML file, I had sent me a form I created in Adobe LiveCycle ES2 without using Office Suite complete Adobe (I think that if I have any other programs, I wouldn't have to have additional permissions to see what I could create, don't you think?).  I'm looking to display the form in Reader or Acrobat or even in LiveCycle itself, and the course of my research I've just been hitting brick walls.  Any help out there?

  If it is Acrobat X or more later, click on tools and go to the forms section. Perhaps more Options - form data management - Import.

  I just downloaded LiveCycle ES2.5 assessment Appliance trial and after a lot of trouble, I managed to open Admin UI (http://yourIP:8080 / / AdminUI). I think you should definitely add to the readme.pdf file:

  • In VMware network settings check the "repeated physical network connection status" if you cannot log in Admin UI.

  and it works. I even managed to add Reader Extensions, and it seems to work.

  I did some tests on the use of the current version of solution accelerators in LiveCycle ES 2.  I ran into some issues and I have been informed that they are not natively supported in this environment, for the moment.  I was just curious to know if the next version of accelerators will rely in ARE and, if so, when will they be available?

  Yes, the next version of accelerators will run on SS2. There are pre-release versions on the beta site. Not sure if the release date, but I think it should be on this site.

  Can someone help me with a problem I currently feel with the button send in the Trial Version of LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2?

  I have created a form in LiveCycle (Trial Version) and holds the staff to fill out this PDF form and then be able to form in PDF format.  I followed the instructions on 'Button Submit which will send a PDF package' which tells me to enter a URL for example: mailto: ? @companyname.com.au and select the PDF file in the type 'submit '.  When you press this button, just of flashes blue and does nothing else.  Can advise please more what I'm doing wrong or what I need to solve this problem?

  If you use e-Reader e-form should be Reader Extended to save them. You can Re th eform using Acrobat several times in this forum as shown.

  Unable to connect to the database; casued by [could not create a connection...

  Caused by: org.jboss.resource.JBossResourceException: unable to save the driver for: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver; -nested throwable: (java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: unexpected error during a load: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver, msg = number of wrong version in the .class file)

  As you must have in the screen "Task Selection" in LCM "Deploy LiveCycle ears" option is disabled.

  This means that when you have finished the configuration of LiveCycle ears you must manually copy the ears on JBoss, and then start the application server.

  This can be done following the steps mentioned below:

  (1) copy of the/servers/lc_oracle/logs folder ears.

  Once the server is running, you must proceed to the step "bootstrap".

  NB:

  A useful suggestion is to try the partial turnkey installation that is quick and easy.

  Just one thing to keep in mind however, use ojdbc6.jar for LCM begins with JDK 1.6, in this case.

  In case you give ojdbc5.jar by mistake, check the connection would give bad .class version errors.

  You will need to leave LCM, restart it and tap the ojdbc6.jar to avoid this problem.

• LiveCycle ES2 data drop-down list issue

  I'm trying to make a dynamic form based on a table in SQL 2008R2 database. I need to have a list that fills the data drop-down list database and then when this list item is selected, fill the rest of the document from the fields of the database based on the selection in the drop-down list. I understand the drop must be linked to the data connection, but I can't get the list items to act as if the documentation says they should. Here's what I've done so far:

  1. under tools/options that I have appointed the data binding should display dynamic content.

  2. I have created a data connection to the database and can see all the fields of data in the data view tab, and can also put these fields in the document.

  3 when I place the list on the drop-down list data form, I indicates the list to be bound to the data connection that I created previously, and the tab link has this: ' $record. DataConnection. databasefield'.»

  4. from what I understand, the field tab, list items should be a green hypertext link, and it isn't. I have no idea why, or how do I have to do from here.

  I also asked a lot of the software, or am I missing something to make it happen. I have struggled with this for a few days now and I am ready to move on for reporting. If anyone can help?

  I opened your form and looked at the XML properties in the LiveCycle. I noticed that your form is only a form interactive but not considered a dynamic form.

  In order to use the dynamic properties option, you need to create a dynamic form.

  Unfortunately, your form is in fact an image and have no objects with the exception of the fields, so I did a quick for you.

  I suggest you create a new form and redo the form.

  Make sure you have dynamic properties when creating the new form, I don't know if master pages is the trick to get a PDF be interactive with the dynamic properties

  I have t2 and t1 numberic two fields for both. I want to add the total of the t1 and t2 and total to appear in the 3rd field tot.

  this.getField () is the core/AcroForm javascript. LC Designer javascript syntax is different.

  Try this javascript in the calculate of tot event:

  tot.rawValue = ad1.rawValue + ad2.rawValue;
  

  .rawValue access (and games) the value of an object.

• Need a script to hide the rows of table - this makes the problem no justice - LiveCycle ES2

  I develop a dynamic form.

  There's a RadioButtonList that under option (1,2,3), will open a subform (1,2,3). Each subform contains a different set of checkboxes. The checkboxes for each subform (1,2,3) are related to one another subform (5,6,7). Subforms, 5, 6, and 7 all contain arrays. Checkboxes in subforms 1, 2 and 3 are related to the lines in the tables of subforms, 5, 6 and 7. All rows in all tables are set to 'hidden '. When checking a checkbox, the associated row of the associated table has its presence changed to 'visible '.

  Example:

  RadioButtonList1 = 1

  Subform1 appears.

  CheckBox3 = 1

  Subform5.Table1.Row3 is displayed.

  It all works perfectly. I'm sure it's complicated, but the end result works.

  Here's what I need: I need a way to re - hide everything was set to "visible". Here is what I tried:

  RadioButtonList1::click - (JavaScript, client)

  xfa.host.resetData ("xfa.form.form1.Subform1"); & 2 & 3 & 4 & 5 & 6 & 7

• LiveCycle ES2 - text field empty multiple lines deleting data entry for clients

  I use a Java Script to add several lines to an empty text field.  If the customer type in the text field replaces the lines.  If the client prints only the form, they remain the lines.  The problem I have is if the customer type in the domain and must then go back and change the text, as long as they tab or click on the text field in the because the text disappears.

  I think you might be better with another approach, with this approach, the user will have the same trouble if they save the form and open later.

  Good afternoon

  I have a field called "sgnPOC" signature and a date field, called "sgnPOCDate", I would like to have the date field filled automatically when the sgnPOC is digitally signed.

  I added the following to the event postSign * to sgnPOC.

   FORM.Main.sgnPOCDate.rawValue = util.printd("mm/dd/yyyy", new Date()); 

  and different variations affecting the date YYYYMMDD and as such. Only, it will not automatically fill. It passes control of script in the script editor.
