I have avast anti-virus on my computer but my Active Center says it's not find an anti-virus program. The avast, it says that my computer is safe. I tried to restart my computer, but the indicator keeps popping up on the right side of my taskbar. What should I do?
Some Antivirus utilities do not seem to be recognized by Windows Security Center.
See the following Knowledge Base article:

If the problem persists, you can try an alternative utility such as Microsoft Security Essentials, which is free Antivirus:

My computer has been infected with "Windows Vista restore" what should I do to get rid of him?
The fake security program Window Vista restore"scans my computer and tells me I have several hard drive errors. It has blocked access to my computers system restore and defragment utility, appeared to 'clear' all my files (like images taxes) and I get the error pop ups telling me to turn off the computer because "hard drive failures. When I click on cancel, x or anywhere on the box, the system stops. When I restart, the same fake program starts begins to scan my computer again. I tried running my Trend Antivirus scan and when the scan is about 99% complete, the fake program does not scan continue. What should I do to get rid of him? I'm asked to pay for an upgrade of the software, but have not entered my card number. I'm afraid that my data has been hacked... including the loss of my photo albums. I'm currently installing updates to windows on the computer. Will he get rid of it?
Hello
do you mean Windows Recovery?
read this:
Windows Vista Recovery is a program of analysis and optimization of fake computer that displays false information in order to scare you into believing that there is a problem with your computer. Recovery of Windows Vista is installed via Trojan horses that display fake error messages and warnings of security on the infected computer. These messages will state that there is something wrong with the hard drive of your computer, and then suggests that you download and install a program that can solve the problem. When you click on these alerts, recovery of Windows Vista will be automatically downloaded and installed on your computer.
Once installed, Windows Vista Recovery will be configured to start automatically when you log in to Windows. Once started, several error messages appear when you try to launch programs or delete files. Windows Vista Recovery will then prompt you to scan your computer, which will then find a variety of errors, he said, he can't fix until you purchase the program. When you use the defragmentation tool called it will specify that it should run in Mode safe and show then a background in Mode Safe false who pretended to defragment your computer. As this program is a scam do not be scared by buying the program when you see its alerts.
Follow the removal instructions, including how to "unmask" your data

I want to sell my netbook and as to buy a new HD windows still exists on an acer?
Because netbooks usually have a CD player and almost never come with a real Microsoft Windows installation CD, your options are limited.
1. replace the hard drive in the netbook with a new hard drive. It is obviously the safest, but because the new hard drive will not not any what operating system (or other) will lower probably seriously the amount someone is willing to pay you. If you bought a CD USB player and could find and buy a Windows XP installation CD (not easy not more and not cheap), you can reinstall Windows to make the netbook more saleable).
2. create a bootable USB key with Darik Boot and Nuke and wipe the hard drive safely. It is less expensive that the option 1 but does almost exactly the same (and has the same drawback).
3. use a safe "file shredder" such as Heidi Eraser or one of these: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=%22file+shredder%22 to safely erase files that you can identify (for example, everything in your "My Documents" folder) and then use whatever mechanism has been provided by the manufacturer of your netbook to "restore to factory conditions" (as condition of licence from Microsoft the manufacturer of your netbook is bound to have such a mechanism).
#3 is probably the most practical

When I was asked to update my flash player, so I did, I was playing farm town 2 on Zynga. When I did, I went to play my game and the image would not return. The site came, but the game would not load completely so that I can play the game. I'm went on You tube to play music videos and the videos would not play. I went to my WWE network to see if I could look at him and I could not watch anything there either. I can not even play my games book face. I loaded and unloaded flashplayer at least a dozen times or more, and I still can't get anywhere. I can also do not charge any old version of flash player. What should I do?
First of all, unfortunately, pop-up message on the Flash updates while you visit Web sites can often install malware. If you notice any strange behavior then please complete your plan of regular safety with some freedom to scan/cleaning of the tools listed in our technical support article: Troubleshooting Firefox problems caused by malware.
Secondly, your "more details of the system" does not show the 'Shockwave Flash' plugin, so it can be disabled. You can check on the page modules, either:
- CTRL + SHIFT + a
- "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons
In the left column, click on Plugins. Search for "Shockwave Flash", and if you find it, change permission to 'never activate' to 'ask to activate '.
If the plugin is not there, you can check the following folder to see if you find this file on the system:
File: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
File: NPSWF32_17_0_0_188.dllI also noticed something odd: you said Windows 7, but your Firefox means Windows XP. Could clear you any parameter of backward compatibility on your shortcut to Firefox. Here's how, either:
- Right click of your Firefox shortcut on the desktop > properties
- right click on your icon of Firefox taskbar pinned > Mozilla Firefox right-click > properties
In this dialog box, open the Compatibility tab and make sure that nothing is settled here, so Firefox can take full advantage of Windows 7.

My computer is so slow. Do not know what to do?
can someone please help me solve this? I opened my laptop, turn it on and turn on and everything but it's just stupid slow short. Not normal at all. Don't know to fix "Please HELP!"
- Update your AntiVirus package and run a scan full to see if she can find something nasty.
- Check out these tips - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/speed-up-your-pc
- If still then as a quick test, start in a "clean boot" is no joy a normal speed? If this is useful, do not leave it to the boot, but use it to investigate.
- If still no joy, then in "Task Manager" (click "Show processes from all users") are all processes (on the process tab) using a lot of CPU or memory? If the PC is essentially inactive "system idle process" should probably be at the top of the CPU usage list.
