  • What is Microsoft Default Manager?

Located in: "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Microsoft\Search Enhancement Pack Manager\DefMgr.exe. It's in the boot on the CCleaner list, and I just wanted to know what it does, and if it is safe to turn it off. I use Windows 7 Home Premium.

    Hello

Microsoft Default Manager sets the default search on your browser and lets you know when other programs try to change these settings. You can also opt in or out of a program that allows Microsoft to collect additional information about your system configuration.

If you have installed Windows Live Essentials, Microsoft Default Manager will be installed in your computer. It is a part of the Bing toolbar.

The process is called DefMgr.exe and is located C:\Program Microsoft Search Enhancement Manager Pack\Installers\Default folder. You can also access it via the Start Menu > all programs.

Note: It is not recommended to disable Microsoft default manager.

  • Microsoft Windows Nokia Lumia640 LTE Denim loses FlashPlayer & IE11 after upgrade to Win10 Mobile overview

To the right; After upgrading my Microsoft Windows Nokia Lumia 640LTE Denim phone Win10 mobile preview, I have function no. FlashPlayer available onboard, that shows any ad or the option to turn on or off in the settings of parameters / advanced as it should. It also, since the upgrade, omitted the option to block pop ups as well. The Explorer11 of the Internet also failed to appear after upgrading to Win10 Mobile preview, which, like Flash Player, is supposed to be incorporated. I did a hard reset without success, as again after the first upgrade to Win10 Mobile Preview, the second re-installation gave the same results.  Help, please! Thank you!

    Hello

I have answered your original question: Flash Player only is not supported on mobile devices, including Win10 Mobile, only devices dekstop.  See Adobe Flash Player | Technical for the supported platforms.

I don't know how and why it may have worked before the upgrade to Win10 Mobile Preview, but Flash Player has never been supported on Windows Phone.  Maybe it was something that Microsoft does. I recommend you contact Microsoft support for assistance.

  • Impossible to use Java 64 bit install for mozilla?

Firefox is disable the installation of Java Java 7 u4, so I uninstalled it and I try to get Firefox to recognize the u17 of Java 7 64 bit already installed or install u17 Java 7 32-bit. But when I try to install jre-7u17-windows - i586.exe that it fails. You can one of these problems solved so I can use Java in the browser?

I just uninstalled then immediately reinstalled the latest Mozilla Firefox and went into the appdata\Mozilla directory and install to erase everything in-between sets.

When I search support on "Wizard was interrupted", I find these tips, you probably saw:

Error: The wizard was interrupted before Java (TM) 6 update could be completely installed.

This page includes links to an Installer 'offline' 30 MB. I guess that their theory is that the problem is related to the use of their stub Installer.

Note: If the old Java will not uninstall, there may be a registry problem. I saw a recommendation for this Microsoft 'Fixit' in this case: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall/

I forgot my password for my HP desktop PC, HP can help me reset it?

Reset the Microsoft connected account password

HP recommends using a Microsoft account connected (MSA) to log Windows. With a Microsoft connected account, you log in to Windows using your email address and the password can be reset using a different device at any time. You don't need a Hotmail e-mail address or Microsoft to put in place a connected account. Any email address works.

To reset your password for an INT account follow these steps:

    1. Open an Internet browser and go to the Microsoft Web page to reset your password : https://account.live.com/password/reset.
    2. Select I forgot my password, and then click reset password.
    3. Follow the on-screen instructions to reset your password.

When the password is reset, you will be able to use your Microsoft account with the new password to connect to Windows 10 and Windows 8. Make sure that your computer is connected to the Internet until you try to connect.

For more information on the recovery of your Microsoft account password, see:

Reset a local user account password in Windows (all versions)

If you use a local user account HP cannot retrieve or reset your password if it is lost or forgotten.

HP strongly recommends to create a password reset disk to allow you to reset your password in case it is forgotten. If you don't have a password reset disk and can't remember your password, you will be directed by HP support to restore full original factory conditions and will lose all the data that was not backed up to an external location.

    Create a password reset disk

To perform these steps, you'll need removable media (a USB flash drive).

    1. Insert your removable media.
    2. Open accounts by clicking theStart button, clicking Control Panel, clicking user accounts and family safety, and then clicking user accounts.
    3. In the left pane, clickcreate a password reset disk, and then follow the instructions. Make sure that you store the disk to reset password in place safe.

Reset your password using the password reset disk

If you enter the wrong password when you attempt to log on, Windows displays a message that the password is incorrect.

    1. Click OK to close the message.
    2. Click reset password, and then insert your password reset disk or USB key.
    3. Follow the steps in the password reset Wizard to create a new password.
    4. Login with the new password. If you forget your password again, you can use the same password reset disk. You don't need to make a new.

  • Workstation HP Z240 Tower: can I install Windows 7 from scratch?

    Greetings!

The operating system on my computer is actually win 10 Pro demoted to Win 7 Pro. I want to know if I can install from scratch Windows 7 in my computer using the Windows 7 disc with the computer.

I was told, the operating system is Windows 10 but it uses an interface of Windows 7. I don't understand the need for this complication. If you can just install Windows 7, so why use an interface? Maybe this computer only works with Windows 10?

What are you trying to do, as you say that you are already using Windows 7?

I do not understand your question about "interface."

The GUI (graphical user Interface) for Windows 10 incorporates most of the features of the GUI for Windows 7 and also of the GUI Windows 8/8.1.

    See: http://www8.hp.com/ca/en/products/workstations/product-detail.html?oid=8354563#! = form tab

    Your computer was preinstalled with:

Windows 7 Professional 64 (available through 10 Pro 64 Windows downgrade rights)

and also comes with a license and support for Windows 10 Pro software.

My recommendation: given that Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 7 in January 2020 - a short period of absence - install Windows 10 to get security-updates for your computer now and after January 2020.

Suggestion: if you have a "spare" disk drive, disconnect your current hard drive, connect the 'spare' and try to use this support for Windows 7 to install Windows.  That should answer your question about "can I install...". ».

  • Satellite A100: UNMOUNTED_BOOT_VOLUME HARD drive problem

My A100 (XP media edition) does not start at the top is normal, safe mode (all types), the last known config as the recovery disk does not work. Error message is unmounted_boot_volume.

    Is there a solution?
is that what the recoverable data?
If the new HARD drive is purchased the recovery disk allows you to reinstall the OS?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Robbo88

As far as I know this error message appears if the HARD drive boot sector is damaged.
Usually, the new installation of the operating system should help to get rid of this problem.

If you cannot boot from the recovery CD, I would recommend the original Microsoft windows XP CD boot and start the repair console. Here, you can use the fixmbr command to repair the boot sector.

Of course, this problem can be caused by a HARD disk failure.
In this case, the HARD drive must be replaced.

  • Can Tecra A4 (PTA40E-01600VEN) I use Windows 7?

    Toshiba Tecra A4 (PTA40E-01600VEN)

I have an old laptop, although three of the same model, they have been sold and manufactured in 2005, all the Windows XP runining.

They work all great, service pack 3, but because I am under an old operating system, my phone Smartphone not recognisze not the laptop.

    So I bought Windows 7.
Now before I went to work and started to format the hard drive, I went on the site to load driver down to make sure that there are drivers compatible with my laptop and Windows 7 makeup. I can only find drivers until Vista for my laptop.

Can I ask, I can not put Windows 7 on such an old laptop? Am I stuck with XP, or buy a new laptop?
Drivers exist or XP drivers work with 7?

    Thanks for any help

    > but because I am under an old operating system, my phone Smartphone not recognisze not the laptop.
    Can't believe that

Of course, Win XP is a little older but his should be supported as well as Vista or Win 7

    > May I ask, I can not put Windows 7 on such an old laptop?
Why not. Win 7 system requirements is not too high.

    Here's what Microsoft is recommended.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/system-requirements

    1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x 86) or 64-bit (x 64) processor
1 gigabyte (GB) of RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
16 GB of disk space available (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
Graphical device DirectX 9 with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

    > Am I stuck with XP, or buy a new laptop?
Win XP is a great system. I used it for a long time
Now I m using Win 7 on my Win XP system even if Toshiba has not officially released drivers for my series.
However, most of the drivers are automatically installed and I had to search just for a few drivers on some 3rd party pages.

    How to address this please!

    Hello

To be honest, I never encounter such a problem with the operating system, but first, I recommend trying to repair the operating system.

Start Notepad, and then press F8. Then choose the option called to repair the computer.
Now, you will see some options. Here I recommend to choose the first option called: Startup Repair.
This option automatically solves the problems that prevent Windows to start.
But I'm not quite sure if it's good enough for your problem with the system of m.

If this is not enough, I would recommend reinstalling the Microsoft Works package.

  • Satellite L750 - Bluetooth does not work with Windows 8 Pro

    Hello

Well, I got 2 systems of windows 7 on my laptop and I have upgraded to windows 8 Pro. I installed all the drivers and finally work doest bluetooth.

It works fine if I first start windows 7 wait to connect my Bluetooth mouse and reboot at startup of windows 8.

If I try to use the function keys to activate/deactivate flight mode (in fact I like to disable WLAN) he stopped Bluetooth to work and there is no way to return to work until I have restart the laptop with windows 7 and the function keys to activate Bluetooth WLAN.

I love my phone and I love working with windows 8, but it makes me mad and mock no more.

Any help? Please, I beg you!

PS: I already wrote in support of toshiba and they recommend to call Microsoft for help... Thanks a lot... its a driver problem and not really a problem of OS...

    > If I try to use the function keys to activate/deactivate flight mode (in fact I like to disable WLAN) he stopped Bluetooth to work and there is no way to return to work until I have restart the laptop with windows 7 and the function keys to activate Bluetooth WLAN.

The FN key disables and active BT and the WLan by turning airplane mode on or off. If you want to enable the BT or Wlan, you need to go into settings to win 8 PC-> Wireless-> BT switch
