Is SATA connection of Thunderbolt format?

I have an external HD set on my iMac Thunderbolt binding cord / .

I formatted the HD use me as a CrashPlan backup drive and from time to time I have problems of synchronization between the iMac and the HD.

Due to the method of connection Thunderbolt, is there a special format OS X preference to do?

Or is the SATA connection is the right one (?)

See photo:

Thank you

The disc includes probably interface SATA (as most of the records for the use of the last 10 years) for you connect to the speaker.  Regardless of how the case is connected to the computer (USB, FireWire, lightning, etc.), it will always display the SATA connection type because it is the physical interface of the hard drive has on it.

I don't know how the interface bus relates to the question with the backup software.

  • Recurring problem Bluetooth when I connect to Thunderbolt display

Since upgrading to OS X El Capitan, when I reconnect my MacBookPro with a Thunderbolt display (Magic Mouse and Apple keyboard) Bluetooth devices do not work and I have to unplug and re - a SMC.

Bluetooth cannot be activated and turn it back on, it just does not respond. So I always have to close all programs, and re - a SMC.

So that work, but it is very annoying, how do I solve this problem of disconnection?

I have OS X El Capitan, version 10.11.3 MacBOok Pro retina early 2015 with all updates.

    Thank you.

I also have this problem on a Macbook Pro retina end of 2015.

    Bluetooth preferences shows:

Cannot open the Panel preferences 'Bluetooth' because it is not available to you right now.

To display this Panel of preferences, you will need to connect a device to your computer.

And Bluetooth appears as "not available":

I ran Apple Diagnostic tool and it told me that I had a defective Bluetooth (hardware problem) and instructed me to contact Apple for a replacement. And so I did.

But the second Macbook, I got them also had this problem. Resetting the SMC is just a temporary workaround.

I suspect it has something to do with the thunderbolt ports. They seem to cause some failure to bluetooth connected/disconnected...

Also, the problem is present in Bootcamp (10 Windows) installation as well. The Bluetooth module appears like installed but with drivers hurt in "Device Manager".

    Hello

Is this HP HPE h9 - 1150t your PC?

To avoid any problems with the addition of two extra hard one drives an additional optical drive.  The specifications indicate room for three hard drives and two optical drives.  I can't say for certain how much power pre wiring has been done, but I suspect that the power is there for the extra optical drive and a second hard drive. You may need to use a power SATA Y for the third hard drive adapter.

Two edge (1 and 2) SATA connectors are SATA III so I use hard drives SATA III and place the optical drives on SATA II (3-6) ports.  You may need to revise your order of boot device in the bios to ensure that it reflects your wishes.

What gave you thought that 2015 iMacs have been evolutionary or even expandable user by could be held? Apple never said they were, and as far as I know nobody has attempted to install an additional SATA device inside one. I think you should drop the idea and if you use external devices connected via Thunderbolt.

Click on the round to start, type computer management in the area of research and
    Press ENTER.

In the computer management window, select on the left disk management,

  • Windows 7 will not assign drive letter to e-SATA drive

I have a Seagate 1.5 TB SATA disk mounted in a Thermaltake case which has an e-SATA connection. The drive has been formatted NTFS on a Windows 2000 computer and a backup on this computer has been correctly written to disk. When I connect this drive to my 64-bit Windows 7 computer (Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 m/b using an e-SATA port connected to the Gigabyte SATA2 chip) Windows recognize the drive where the disc is displayed in 'Remove hardware safely', but Windows 7 does not allocate a drive letter.

The disk appears in disk management (currently Disc 3) without a drive letter. When I right click on the blue band to the right of the box Disc 3, Windows cross-hatches the white rectangular box below the blue band. When I click on 'change drive letter and paths' I get the following message «the operation failed because the view is not updated...» "None of the proposed remedies work.

The results are the same regardless of whether I start the computer with the drive connected and running or hot plug disk.

My e-SATA 1 TB Fantom drive works fine on this computer.

I would appreciate any suggestion you may have.

    Hello

Look in Device Manager if there is an item under "storage volumes", called "unknown device". If there, uninstall the driver to do this and as soon as I reconnect the windows disc and see if it assigns a drive letter. If it isn't

    Try this;

    Go to Device Manager

(1), look for an entry that says "Unknown disc" or something similar. This entry may not be marked with the error icon.

    (2) after you locate the entry, right click and select "Uninstall".

    (3) after you have uninstalled, press F5 or select "Search the hardware changes" in the action menu.

    (4) the pilot is then reinstalled correctly.

P.S - I found these answers in other forums showing the same error message. Try them and let me know if it was just a waste of time.  :-)

  • Can not boot from my DVD to a format before loading Win 7

I tried to start my (professional) win7 updated my dvd player, so I can format my C: drive before loading Win7.

I did the necessary bios change for boot order, I get the message "press any key to boot...". ', but a touch usually takes me to my C: drive boot upward.

I should mention that I installed win7 on my C: drive but was never an option to format the drive, and now there are still all my old files and the background image that I don't want. Otherwise, the installation went great.

There is another thread where I was getting help and some good ideas, but he seems to have died.

See Win7 XP update not did me not the ability to format the C: drive or delete all the old files on this drive on this link for further details.  http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-windows_install/Win7-upgrade-from-XP-did-not-give-me-the-option-to/4ca764c3-2f45-4B2F-84b9-808ce96476c4

Basically, what I want to know is, are SATA drives "to hot' I think the term is.

In other words do I can unplug the SATA connection on my C: drive, see him if I can then boot in my reader DVD, then in case of success, taking the C: drive in and move forward with the formatting and reinstalling from there?

    Thank you

You need the C: drive to the DVD player work. I tried this before. Your Windows 7 CD may be corrupted. I recommend you to speak with Microsoft by phone on this problem. Here is ther number (800) MICROSOFT (642-7676).

    Issues related to the:

    1. the desired position of the TPU switch? Offshore, or CPU Ratio Boost or BCLK CPU + report thrust? I want to o/c after that I know that everything works and is stable. That's why I chose the cpu 5820.

    2. the position of the switch of the desired UPR? On - Off or moderate consumption? Why ASUS gives the option?

3 desired switch EZ XMP? Disabled or enabled? Is this related to the choice of the position of the TPU switch?

    4. CPU Over rider? By default (pin 2-3) or the increased tension (pins 1-2) is the decision somehow related to the software ASUS o/c?

    5. is it recommended to install "way 5 optimization" software "Intelligent two 5 '? That would seem to have a relative to the position of the TPU, UPR switch but the document never does this connection so to speak.

6.I am struggling to wrap your head around the different SATA connections. We have SATA6g, SATA Express, ASMedia SATA Express. I read the posts where Eric and Bill, others have said where to establish the connection of the HARD disk, but I would like to understand the difference. In addition, I noticed that two of the SATA connectors are different than others.

    7. should I I anticipate possible problems of implementation is 950Pro?

I appreciate the efforts of the group to help clarify so that I can learn. Maybe others have had the same or similar issues.

These switches are intended to allow firmware frequency setting boards and ratios. I turn them off and use the bios settings. The software is to control the parameters of the bios of Windows compared to their definition in the bios. The software on average is fine but will cause problems with the audio editing software if you record and edit audio projects as well.  You want to connect Sata drives on the Intel controller, which is the primary controller. The m2 will connect the controller Asmedia Sata Express without worrying. The Pro 950 will work as a normal drive since you not put the operating system on it. Just the format in Windows.
