Is the EXIF - e.g., Flash Exposure Compensation - it hidden somewhere?

I see various pieces of EXIF data in LR, but can not find FEC. It's hidden somewhere? Thank you.

I don't think that FEC is in the EXIF specification, so is not a standard field;  probably in the field of the camera mfgr makernote specifications that are not usually published. Some third-party reverse-engineering of the makernotes EXIF viewers, so you can be able to see with one of these programs.

    How can I set the exposure compensation to the FLASH of the camera. It seems that I have to set on the back of the flash exposure compensation. I wish I could change the settings of the FLASH of the camera, not the flash.

    I just press the button Q. FEC is a function on the quick control screen. Use the multi controller to scroll and put highlight the FEC function then use the quick dial (large dial) to set desired FEC.

    The beauty of it is if you work in a busy environment and you press the Q button again the FEC function will be selected when the quick control screen is turned on. The only time wherever it will not be highlighted, it is if you chose another function. Easy scrolling just to him.

    TCampbell is correct. The FEC setting must be a zero on the flash itself for the FEC function work on the quick control screen.

  • Any way to change/replace the EXIF data such as the date of the photo?

    I import into Lightroom several thousand photos I took with my first digital camera, in 2000-2004. Everything went very smoothly. But here's my problem:

    In my old workflow, I spent the time of photo montage liquidated as TIF files, and stripped of any program that I used to edit the EXIF from them. Thus, for example, a photo that was taken on March 4, 2001 has the information EXIF showing it was taken on March 10, 2001, the date on which I edited and made the TIF. All other EXIF data is stripped as well, the data on exposure, lens information, ISO, if the flash is triggered, etc.. Basically, the TIF file seems to have no other than my name and the size of the file EXIF data.

    I can't live without the other info, really, but the change of information on the initial date/time means that the TIF file is not sort next to the original file in Lightroom, which I want to do. There are not thousands of photos that I have hair, a few hundred maximum.

    Is it possible with a plugin or an external program to copy EXIF information in the original program and insert it in the TIF file?

    To change the date to use the Edit capture time option located under library > metadata menu.

  • 5 D Mark III Exposure Compensation

    Hi all

    Background

    I just started shooting sports high school for a local publication, and to make things as simple and quick and easy as possible, I use the following setting in manual mode.

    The camera settings

    Shutter speed 1/1000 to freeze the action

    Apeture 2.8 on my 70-200 for giving me this bokeh that we all love

    ISO set to 'Auto' in order to keep the seting above and let the camera choose the ISO.

    However, from time to time on some of the pictures the exhibition is a bit. So when I went to use the exposure compensation feature, it doesn't seem to work.

    Question

    If the Compensation of Exposre function not work in manual mode? (I noticed that he has worked with AV or TV mode)

    Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong? or any body there methods better shot of this situation?

    Thanks in advance,

    Bob

    Hello

    I don't think that manual is a good choice for sport and you cannot use really not the same definition in all sports, inside or outside, day and night.

    I would use Tv (shutter priority). The camera set the aperture. You set the shutter and ISO. A compromise between a fast enough shutter speed and ISO reasonable. It won't be a problem outside in daylight. There you can probably find your shutter 1/1000 or much faster everything in a low ISO like 100 or even 200. It is night or inside a gym that you feel the squeeze and will need to use an ISO high as 3200 or more and your shutter may need so slow down to 1/640e or 1/400th.

    I am not using EC unless your subjects are backlit or snow or something like that who can trick your camera can.

    Very well-reasoned, Scott, but he doesn't really answer the OP's question.

    So being in a helpful mood this morning (because my wife and I almost finished our taxes last night), and seen the past 3 5 manual easily by hand, I watched it upward. Of course, CBS only works in P, Tvand Av modes. I think this came a couple times before, and the conclusion was that mode manual you are already in control of the parameters, so EC would be superfluous. But I don't think anyone would necessarily share this view.

  • Edit the EXIF tags?

    I'm working on a simple EXIF viewer/editor.

    I think we can use these to read EXIF tags:

    http://developer.BlackBerry.com/native/reference/BB10/com.QNX.doc.camera.lib_ref/topic/camera_meta_g...

    But how to re - write the values of these tags?

    in this case, do not look at the camera API.

    libexif is available on the platform, then I suggest you want just for examples.

    I have here a sample by libexif to detect whether the flash was fired in photo:

    https://github.com/BlackBerry/presentations/tree/master/2012-BlackBerryJam-Americas/JAM15/FlashPhoto

    This example uses the camera API to locate a photo EXIF metadata before it is saved to the disk, but I could just as easily use the functions of libexif to locate the EXIF data inside the JPEG buffer.

    The reason why a separate plea exists thanks to the camera what API for this is so that we can support the metadata in uncompressed images that perhaps has no standard mechanism to encapsulate metadata.

    See you soon,.

  • Too rough Lightroom CC exposure compensation?

    Hello!

    I wonder if West anyway useful to get the exposure compensation slider to 'Develop' Panel working properly! Now it works in Lightroom CC2015 too "roughly" and its almost unusable so: increase exposure "+ 0.55" blows off highligts and you must correct them-"100" to get back them and then the entire image looks like plastic. "

    Is the "amount" related to the values of the AV - exhibition I can't believe then? I could use a virtual ND filter to Lightroom.

    Try exhibition + 0.5, drag the Shadows slider to the right to lift the shadows, then drag the highlights to the left to lower the highlights.

    If this is not enough, try local adjustments in addition, as suggested.

  • Anyone know how I can get lightroom to display my exposure compensation, not only other metadata

    Anyone know how I can get lightroom to display my exposure compensation, not only other metadata.

    It shows only the ISO standard, opening and shutter below the histogram.

    How can I show him also the exposure compensation?

    Hello

    Don't think you can get it to show under the histogram, but if you choose View-> Options to display (Ctrl + J) and then on the Loupe View TAB you can choose exposure correction on one of the lines to display superimposed on the image.

  • I want to remove the EXIF files

    I put JPEG images to a flash drive to show on my Smart TV and you want to remove the EXIF data, which of course are not readable, but I have to scan through them.  How should I be save these photos in Photoshop CC?

    Normally jpg is not the xmp (exif) files, unless they have been open in Camera raw for editing. If this is the case, you must resave JPGs - never a good idea because of re-compression. I would like to processor use Bridge and image to save the files that you want to display on your smart TV on the flash drive. That would eliminate the sidecar xmp files.

  • Quickly retrieve the Exif metadata

    I have a script for Photoshop CC 2014 that makes some calculations of exposure based on the Exif metadata in the files value (EV) camera raw and then adjusts the exposure of the image to the EV of the target.  I know that this information is quickly available in Bridge, but when I try to get the metadata in Photoshop, I use the document.open(), and command that opens the file (which takes a lot of time) instead of simply grasp the Exif metadata.  I can get it quickly in a bridge script, but I'm having a hard time incorporating this kind of things in a targeted Photoshop script (the stuff of BridgeTalk is a bit confusing to me, or it does not work on my computer).

    I also tried to use "bridge.executeScript ()", but the subject of bridge apparently is not available for targeting Photoshop scripts (otherwise something is inconsistent with my installation).  Bridge is available in targeted only Bridge scripts.

    Here's how it works in Photoshop scripts (I include only the party concerned).

    for (var nfile = start; nfile < nstop; nfile ++) {}
    var Name = File(testListing[nfile]).name.replace (/ \.) [ ^\.] +$/, '');
    var file = File (testListing [nfile] .path + "/" + name + ".") JPG');
    If (file.exists) {}
    App.Open (file);
    }
    else {}
    App.Open (testListing [nfile]);
    }
    var DocInfo = app.activeDocument.info;
    app.activeDocument = var docRef
    EV [nfile] = CalcEV (DocInfo, BaseISO);
    app.activeDocument.close (SaveOptions.DONOTSAVECHANGES);
    }

    (FYI, I use the jpeg file if it's there because Photoshop reads the exif data for this file more quickly that it made from the raw file)

    Here's how it works in scripts Bridge:

    firstfile = ' 7A7A5842. CR2 ";

    LastFile = ' 7A7A5843. CR2 ";

    var ExifProperty = "exif:DateTimeOriginal";

    var ExifNamespace = ' http://ns.adobe.com/exif/1.0/';

    app.document.deselectAll ();

    app.document.selectAll ();

    var myThumbs = app.document.getSelection ("cr2");

    var fstart = - 999;

    var fend = - 999;

    for (var n = 0; n < myThumbs.length; n ++) {}

    If (myThumbs [n] .name == firstfile) fstart = n;

    If (myThumbs [n] .name == lastfile) fend = n;

    }

    var %NUMFILES = myThumbs.length;

    var fileThumbs = myThumbs.slice(fstart,fend);

    FLEN = to fend fstart + 1;

    var EVarray = new Array (flen);

    for (var n = 0; n < fileThumbs.length; n ++) {}

    var md = .metadata fileThumbs [n];

    ISO = md.read(ExifNamespace,'exif:ISOSpeedRatings');

    SS_string = md.read(ExifNamespace,'exif:ExposureTime');

    var test = SS_string.split("/");

    ShutterSpeed = test [0] / test [1];

    var Aperture_string = md.read(ExifNamespace,'exif:FNumber');

    If (Aperture_string == ") {}

    var opening is Number (1.4);. assume Samyang at f1.4

    }

    else {}

    var test = Aperture_string.split("/");

    Opening test [0] = / test [1];

    }

    var ISOadjust = Number(1.);

    EVarray [n] = Math.log(Math.pow(Aperture,2)/(ShutterSpeed*ISOadjust)) Math.LN2;

    $.writeln ('ISO', ISO, "SS", SS, 'Av,' opening 'Is EV', EVarray [n]);

    }

    app.document.deselectAll ();

    'Done... '. » ;

    This example works for me with CS6 (don't have CC)

    Create a folder "test" on the desktop and put some cr2 files in the folder and try the following script.

    #target photoshop;
    main();
    function main(){
    var bt = new BridgeTalk();
    bt.target = "bridge";
    bt.body = "var ftn = " + getInfoFromBridge.toSource() + "; ftn();";
    bt.onResult = function( info ) { processInfo(eval( info.body ));}
    bt.send(10);
    };
    function processInfo(info){
    //do whatever to data
    alert(info.join('\n'));
    };

    function getInfoFromBridge(){
    var Info = [];
    app.document.thumbnail = Folder("~/desktop/test");
    app.document.deselectAll();
    var thumbs = app.document.getSelection("cr2");
    for(var a in thumbs){
    var t = new Thumbnail(thumbs[a]);
    var md = t.synchronousMetadata;
    Info.push([[thumbs[a].name],[md.read( "http://ns.adobe.com/exif/1.0/","exif:FNumber")]]);
    }
    return Info.toSource();
    };

  • Test and validate the Exif data

    Very well. A case of beer for the first person to get it (to come to Johannesburg for do it well!)

    I must write an application that allows to extract the EXIF data for photos uploaded on the server and stores it in a database.  So I try the following:

    < cfimage action = "read" source = "" #file.serverfile # "name ="image"/ >"
    < cfset exif = ImageGetEXIFMetaData (image) >
    < cfdump var = "#exif #" >
    < cfquery name = "blah" datasource = "#dsn" >
    Insert pictures (focal_length) values (#focallength #) where blah blah fishpaste.
    < / cfquery >

    Problem solved, right? Fake!  The dump file is for me a bunch of variables such as 'Exposure time' and 'Value Max of openness'.  (Note the spaces).    I need to isolate this 'exposure time' and the variables 'Max aperture value '.

    < cfset focallength = ImageGetExifTag (image, "Focal length") / >
    < cfoutput > #focallength # < / cfoutput >

    Whoo Hoo!

    But now, what happens if a malicious fool downloads a file WITHOUT exif data? OOPS!  This is where I'm stuck - how to test for the variable?  How to test if this variable exists?  Easy, just do it without spaces.  How do WITH that space between 'focal' and 'length '?  I have 'isdefined' my way to hell for breakfast without any luck!

    PS: an end, I am tired, and has already had three beers!

    Spank you in advance. Now get out and conquer!

    Good reading the documentation for structKeyExists():

    http://livedocs.Adobe.com/ColdFusion/8/htmldocs/functions_s_27.html#137977

    Has one advantage structKeyExists() over isDefined() is that she is not paralyzed by the function isDefined() off the idea of the date which is a variable name valid CF.

    This can be done:

    structKeyExists (myStruct, "any string you like here")

    The next time you see the flashing light amber...

    Open Finder > Applications > utilities > AirPort Utility

    Click on the image of the AirPort Express

    If you see a button update, click on update the firmware on the airport

    Otherwise, find status and click on the little orange dot it. A message will appear to say why the airport complained and suggest a remedy for the issue.

    for example the firmware needs to be updated... nothing major... or DNS is wrong or double NAT...
