Too rough Lightroom CC exposure compensation?

Hello!

I wonder if West anyway useful to get the exposure compensation slider to 'Develop' Panel working properly! Now it works in Lightroom CC2015 too "roughly" and its almost unusable so: increase exposure "+ 0.55" blows off highligts and you must correct them-"100" to get back them and then the entire image looks like plastic. "

Is the "amount" related to the values of the AV - exhibition I can't believe then? I could use a virtual ND filter to Lightroom.

Try exhibition + 0.5, drag the Shadows slider to the right to lift the shadows, then drag the highlights to the left to lower the highlights.

If this is not enough, try local adjustments in addition, as suggested.

How can I show him also the exposure compensation?

    Hello

Don't think you can get it to show under the histogram, but if you choose View-> Options to display (Ctrl + J) and then on the Loupe View TAB you can choose exposure correction on one of the lines to display superimposed on the image.

  • 600EX Flash - 5 d III. The flash exposure compensation.

How can I set the exposure compensation to the FLASH of the camera. It seems that I have to set on the back of the flash exposure compensation. I wish I could change the settings of the FLASH of the camera, not the flash.

I just press the button Q. FEC is a function on the quick control screen. Use the multi controller to scroll and put highlight the FEC function then use the quick dial (large dial) to set desired FEC.

The beauty of it is if you work in a busy environment and you press the Q button again the FEC function will be selected when the quick control screen is turned on. The only time wherever it will not be highlighted, it is if you chose another function. Easy scrolling just to him.

TCampbell is correct. The FEC setting must be a zero on the flash itself for the FEC function work on the quick control screen.

  • 5 D Mark III Exposure Compensation

    Hi all

    Background

I just started shooting sports high school for a local publication, and to make things as simple and quick and easy as possible, I use the following setting in manual mode.

    The camera settings

Shutter speed 1/1000 to freeze the action

Apeture 2.8 on my 70-200 for giving me this bokeh that we all love

ISO set to 'Auto' in order to keep the seting above and let the camera choose the ISO.

However, from time to time on some of the pictures the exhibition is a bit. So when I went to use the exposure compensation feature, it doesn't seem to work.

    Question

If the Compensation of Exposre function not work in manual mode? (I noticed that he has worked with AV or TV mode)

Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong? or any body there methods better shot of this situation?

    Thanks in advance,

    Bob

I don't think that manual is a good choice for sport and you cannot use really not the same definition in all sports, inside or outside, day and night.

I would use Tv (shutter priority). The camera set the aperture. You set the shutter and ISO. A compromise between a fast enough shutter speed and ISO reasonable. It won't be a problem outside in daylight. There you can probably find your shutter 1/1000 or much faster everything in a low ISO like 100 or even 200. It is night or inside a gym that you feel the squeeze and will need to use an ISO high as 3200 or more and your shutter may need so slow down to 1/640e or 1/400th.

I am not using EC unless your subjects are backlit or snow or something like that who can trick your camera can.

Very well-reasoned, Scott, but he doesn't really answer the OP's question.

So being in a helpful mood this morning (because my wife and I almost finished our taxes last night), and seen the past 3 5 manual easily by hand, I watched it upward. Of course, CBS only works in P, Tvand Av modes. I think this came a couple times before, and the conclusion was that mode manual you are already in control of the parameters, so EC would be superfluous. But I don't think anyone would necessarily share this view.

When I import the photos either raw or jpeg of my canon 5 d 2 they get 3/4 or more of exposure. I have the imprt dialog box set to any setting. Very annoying!

Make a right-click on one of the other Panel headers for example curve tone and a menu will appear to select Basic.

How it gets unchecked is not clear, but several users have had this happen since the release of version 5. It has ahppened me on at least two occasions.

  • Snow Leopard - external Photoshop retouching stops working after too many Lightroom edits

    Recognition of symptom:

You make adjustments to a file in Lightroom and then you try and change in Photoshop CS4 using surface-mounted-> Comand-E.

    Nothing happens.

You check the Console log and you see

You back into history, to cancel some of your amendments to LR, and he ends by working again.

    Reproduction of bug:

    1. Making adjustments to a RAW in Lightroom - my 5DMKII case, canon raw or dng file
    2. Select the softener in skin (default settings) brush in Lightroom
    3. Paint on the image with several clicks (I've seen sometimes in 5 stokes and 20 shots)
    4. Occasionally check if command-E will bring up the image in Photoshop
    5. If so, exit without save changes and continue to apply the brush strokes and check again.
    6. If it is not the case, check the Console, and you will see the above error
    7. Now start on a brush stoke back in history and stay in control with the command edit
    8. In my case, it works once again a number of brush stokes finally have been removed

    I tried:

    • Re-install Snow Leopard on a disk wiping
    • Re-installing Photoshop
    • Re-installing Lightroom
    • Deleting the files preference com.adobe. < software > Photoshop and Lightroom

    NONE OF THIS WORKED!

I also tried to edit the same file as a different user on the same computer and I DID NOT SEE THE PROBLEM

There is a problem with something in my profile user, Snow Leopard, Lightroom and Photoshop, and I can't seem to find it.

Anyone know what may designate the console error message?

For no discernible reason, my documents suddenly started appearing in compatibility mode when they were previously saved as docx. At the same time, the paper began to appear about 2/3 of the screen down, leaving only a small vertical rule and about 3 inches of space to type on, so that the entire page is previously appeared. The screensaver or the part My Documents present in the space above the document. Everyone knows this? Analyses of virus are clean.

  • Drop shadow & effects too rough!

Hi guys, I've been on this during two days now. In the past, I've created a logo with the graphic style Pearl and adds a shadow to my text. I think that I have created to outlines. I've done a few pieces more than I think. I like to stretch and the effects Gallery etc. However when I use the effects Gallery on my text sometimes really blurred. I mean useless.

I tried to create contours, raterizing and many different, what I am doing wrong? All effects are pretty useless and there is no major changes, I'm doing something wrong. A few hours ago the effects went well, that I don't remember what I did. It just seems to be vectorize, then rasterize. Then when I've traveled efffects Gallery they showed good. But I can't reproduce what I did.

    Any ideas?Logo.png

entry into force / document raster effects settings... in the menu bar. out the max resolution and maybe to try anti-aliasing.

except that you can evolve your largest logo

  • Is the EXIF - e.g., Flash Exposure Compensation - it hidden somewhere?

I see various pieces of EXIF data in LR, but can not find FEC. It's hidden somewhere? Thank you.

I don't think that FEC is in the EXIF specification, so is not a standard field; probably in the field of the camera mfgr makernote specifications that are not usually published. Some third-party reverse-engineering of the makernotes EXIF viewers, so you can be able to see with one of these programs.

  • Helps the exposure correction and Nikon D-90

I just realized to my surprise that my Nikon D - 90 has had the exposure compensation adjusted to 2/3 EV for about the last year. I was not aware of this. I took some photos of a mile. I'm not sure that understand what, if all the consequences it would have for me. What, exactly, that means? As I understand things, this means that all the photos I've taken are obliged to allow 2/3 of a stop underexposed. Is this correct? Can I change them all in Lightroom by changing the exposure compensation? Should I try to do? I don't want to cause further damage, but frankly don't really understand the interaction of my images and lightroom enough to know what to do (if anything) to fix it. I would be grateful for all your comments/advice/help.

EV units in of trshaner average response, Yes, but the link to the image-adaptive controls in the same meet means that approximately.

  • Correction of secondary exposure?

Is it possible to correct the exposure spot [ie. clipping] problems as you can correct the secondary color with three way color corrector?

I have a clip where a white box that reflects too much - it moves, so I need the exposure compensation to move as well - as the color corrections are moving with the secondary color Correction, but enjoying a guidance instead.

I just need to tone - it makes some, if possible.

I tried to use three channels, but it is not enough to capture color.

    Any advice? And thank you.

You can do a secondary correction with the luma corrector.

  • 580EX II on a 6 d - problems with exposure

I have a new 6 d, and I'm trying to do some portraits of 'test' with my 580EX II. I use the ETTL mode. and the aperture priority. I was able to adjust the exposure compensation while using my previous camera (1-3), but I can't seem to be able to alleviate the intensity of the flash either on the camera, r off-camera with my triggers Yongnuo 622 C.

Any suggestions? establishing a single sample.

You can never "soften" the intensity of the flash, you can only adjust the exposure to flash using "Flash Exposure Compensation. (FEC)

The 1 d Mk III had a scale of exposure on the side right of the viewfinder, but put in FEC is also very easy on the 6 d.

FEC is adjustable on the camera and the flash. The FEC flash will work around the FEC camera then make sure that both are '0 FEC' and then adjust according to your needs.

Since you're using YN - 622C triggers, I would always stick with all menu flash of the 6 d in CEE.

On the photo that you published the EXIF 'XMP' show-1 FEC. I'm not familiar with the XMP data. Does this mean that this was done in post-processing?

  • How to turn on canon sx50hs exposure indicator?

I searched for the answer to this question but can't find it anywhere so I decided to ask you guys... I want to turn on the exposure indicator which tell u if your underexposed picture overexposed or is perfect...

The meter indicator you refer to lights in M mode only on the series SX cameras. In other modes Av, Tv and P, exposure compensation indicates the brightness of the shot with 1/3-1/3 showing for example in the lower right. All other modes do not allow the witness fee and meter exposure, as the camera which will manage.

  • Where is the backlight-manual exposure control?

On my new SX520 Canon, I can't find a way to exposure compensation or even a simple backlight control. As I do much photography at the beach, backlight compensation is necessary.

As well as according to the manual, you just need to press on the +/-button on the back of the camera while in P mode (works in Av, Tv and M modes for) and then turn the dial to set in 1/3 increments.
