Already I replaces my two XP PC with Windows 8.1, but my wife still loves its Vista and wants to stick with it. She also and like Office 2007 and I wondered about this as well. Microsoft Security Essentials runs on it and has been without problems so far. How long she will be able to use this computer until it is not the choice like me with my XP PC? (I miss you)

  Restart your Mac and then launch Photos and try to share a photo on Facebook.

  I'm sure that this is not a matter of Facebook because you can download 1,000 pictures on a Facebook album. Not through pictures of course, but 1 000 is their limit.

  In general, Apple will provide support for 5-7 years after a product is discontinued.  But they must not offer updates to the firmware at all once a product is discontinued.

  For example, the 5th generation AirPort Extreme was abandoned in June 2013. No update firmware of the product have been since then.

  With regard to the flaws of security and bugs... it isn't usually the router that is the problem... it's almost always the operating system of the computer.

  I have the laptop of my son with a nonadministrator account set up in family safety.  My son rarely connected to internet (no wireless).  When it connects, it's usually to print her homework.  I know it's a network activity, but very little.  Family safety always reports that there is no activity (web, application, etc.).  I tested his account and I know that it works correctly.  My hunch is that it is not stay connected long enough for that follow-up activity to work right.  Please notify.  I have a similar situation with my daughter, but she spends a little more time on the internet.  His reports seem to be more accurate than my son.

  Security for the family needs a consistent internet connection to make it work properly. The parental control client relies heavily on this so that the settings of the site and the activity on the computer are sent to both ends. Since your son is rarely connected to internet, settings and information from both ends cannot be synchronized properly. We are unable to determine how long you must be connected to internet for the parental controls work properly.

Then I ran windows update manually, but was getting an error that says "Windows Update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running." You may have to restart your computer. "So I restarted my computer and went and it was OK, the service was not working. So I started manually. This allowed me to get updates. I clicked on install, and it said installation of updates. Its been almost 3 hours. In the Task Manager it shows the window updates running and in services, it shows the service running windows update. I'm just curious to know how long to him given has not updated for 5 months?   It's really weird that Windows has not been updated for 5 months. The time depends on the updates required for Windows, drivers as well as other Microsoft software, apart from the speed of internet connection. This is why the time cannot be guessed.
