Is there a trick to convert JPG of RGB to CMYK without re compression with loss of?

So I have around 750 images for multiple folders and categories. Each image has 6 variants - TIFF 16-bit photographer Beaver excessively eager, TIFF 16-bit, extracted from circles (performed by student workers, who are not English that we are not in the United States), then standard 3000 x 2000 (or other image format appropriate) PNG with answer keys for print edges Web and light, a JPG of 1800 x 1200 for the web and a few smaller also for web PNG standards.

TIFF 16-bit with BG retrieved is the root files, and a series of actions draws the PNG. The PNG standard is then pumped through actions and image processor to create output files.

So, I just found out that a seemingly random number of them are in CMYK mode. That was not a problem until now, because our Web site and our printed documents have no problem with CMYK and RGB files.

But now we are starting to distribute these images to our customers - who are only interested in the JPG of 1800 x 1200 and perhaps 900 x 600 PNG, which are more easily drawn directly from our Web site files rather than by sending them all the 180 GB graphics directory.

And some of them say that the photos are rejected. In particular, are not allowed the CMYK files.

So limit the damage - rebuild our entire library of images of the 16 bit TIFF

OR

rebuild only a couple of different sizes and download from there, by replacing the images on the next major release (report to next year).

I'm * NOT * anxious to preserve the color, since 99% of our products are black and shades of gray, with only a hint of color.

I am concerned about the degradation of the mode change on 60-70% images compressed, and then re-register again with the JPG lossy compression.

I'm about to start tearing into things with my actions and replaced nearly 1500 files online, so I would like to be sure I'm doing things in the most appropriate way.

If there is a tool that can do this conversion without another passage of compression, this would be ideal.

Whenever you register or book a JPEG, it is re-compression.  No exceptions, no work around.  No magic 'tool that can do this conversion without another passage from compression' If you want to end up with a JPEG re-recorded.

JPEG is a lossy format.  Period.

Almost any image editor can do, including Microsoft Paint, which
provided with Windows. Just open the GIF file, and then do a save as, and
Choose the type of JPG file.  There are also many third-party programs
which can convert a chart type to another, including the GIF to JPG.
Do a search on the web.

  • Convert JPG & Delete DNG DNG?

    Hello

I have a lot of old photos that I won't have to keep files DNG (converted from the NAVE). I'd rather have a JPG file (or DNG format which does not contain RAW data, leaving only JPG) for space saving purposes. Is there a way I can do this in just a few clicks of button on an important band in my library?

If I were you, I would like to convert to DNG format with loss: compression bulky like jpeg, but with change in the benefits of raw.

To do this, check the "use lossy Compression" box in the dng conversion dialog prompt:

I installed the full version LavVIEW 8.6.  I tried to upgrade to the professional version 8.6 by simply installing the new disks, and it didn't perform the upgrade.  First, I have to uninstall and reinstall, or is there a trick?

Look in the License Manager in the National Instruments of your Start menu folder.  This is probably just a matter of activating LabVIEW 8.6 and maybe some other features with your new code license rather than your previous full version license code.

    Hi rsev,.

For existing photos, select all your images in the grid view, and then click the Reset All button in the quick develop Panel. Then click on the auto tone button to correctly apply this feature.

To prevent this from happening in the future, choose Lightroom > preferences > Presets (Mac OS) or edit > Preferences > Presets (Windows). Uncheck the apply auto tone adjustments.

Reference: thumbnails appear black in Lightroom CC 2015.2/6.2

    It will be useful.

It is NOT an upgrade path.

32-bit and 64-bit are two completely different operating systems.

The only way to change Ultimate 32 bit to 64 bit ultimate is to do a clean install with a FULL Vista Ultimate 64 bit operating system.

  • Is it possible to convert RGB to CMYK images in Photoshop elements 12 or 6 Lighroom?

    Hello

I am a freelance photographer, asked to produce images in CMYK mode to print. For the type of work that I normally do, Photoshop Elements is good enough. So, I bought not the full program of Photoshop. I can´t seem to find a way to convert my RGB to CMYK files. Someone at - it suggestions on how to do it?

    Grateful for any help.

    Kind regards

    Anna

Elements has no CMYK support. You need the full Photoshop for this.

However - you have good CMYK profile for the real press and used paper. If they ask CMYK without specifying exactly what CMYK profile to use, it's a gift: they have no idea of what they are doing. So ask them that.

In any case, the common nowadays procedure is to present photography as RGB equipment, to be converted to CMYK destination on final export as PDF ready from the program layout (InDesign). This means that the images are placed as RGB in InDesign. In this way the material can be easily reused for press different conditions.

In other words, if they run a color managed properly the process. There are still some who don't.

CMYK standards vary around the world. The default value of Photoshop's us Web Coated (SWOP), which is not used anywhere outside America. Here in Europe the most commonly used are ISO Coated (ECI) 300% or Coated FOGRA39.

  • Convert RGB to CMYK and RGB image

    Hey.

I wonder if anyone has any experience with conversion of RGB to CMYK and RGB image?

I had a TIF in RGB, then convert to CMYK, but I thought it would be best to keep in RGB, so I converted. I read that he meant to cause losses in the data, but I don't see anything in the image, it's always very huge and 2 RGB files has the same size as well. Is there a way to compare the resolution of 2 images somehow, or how I can see what I've lost through 2 conversions?

    Thanks for help

Data loss, you refer relates to the compromise made when appearing in RGB colors fall outside the range of available colors printing inks. In such a case, substitutions are made in the conversion of RGB to CMYK based on your choice of the Conversion Option > intent found in Edit > color settings. The good news is that if you don't see a color change when you switch from RGB to CMYK and vice versa, this means that none of the colors in RGB mode are outside of the range of CMYK ink. I suggest that intention more appropriate for the mode switches such as the one you mentioned Relative Colorimetry is the choice more practical.

When RGB, clicking Cmd + there will show a color change if the colors are outside the range of ink. Another signal is an exclamation point beside the CMYK numbers in the info panel. To see which areas of the image are affected by the limitation of printing ink, choose View > Gamut Warning.

  • How to convert RGB to CMYK images in batches

    Hello

Can someone explain in a way step by step how to convert RGB to CMYK images batch?

    Thanks in advance

If you do not want to use Photoshop for the conversion of bact there are several ways, including lots and Image Procesor under the file > controller or file > Scripts of PS.

However, my preference is to use the script from Russell Brown: Image Processor Pro, via the bridge:

    http://www.russellbrown.com/scripts.html

Like other similar is transformative image:

Both allow you to make several conversions simultaneously, different sizes and file types and actions running before or after conversion.

Since the installation of Firefox 20.0.1. on my MS Windows 7 Toshiba Laptop there was a box in the center of my screen titled "progress install < with a bar running below green growth."
Firefox 20.0.1 (FF) works very well and I can drag the box of progress on my screen to my heart's content. Although there no small cross at the top right I can get rid of him by my mouse over the icon (ff), pinned to taskbar program in hover. This gives me a box of progress of installation with small cross, click and his party. That is until I got close and restart (ff) and back it comes in the middle of the screen. I tried to get rid of it through CTRL-ALT-DEL Task Manager, but even once, it reappears on start up (FF) I also stripped (ff) of my machine, once using widows uninstall/change of MS program features and for the second time by using third-party software as soon as I reinstall (ff) new same old problem.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe or make changes.
