  • Is there a virus in Thunderbird called YoutubieAdBloCaKe?

Recently, I became aware of the file above that there are attached to hundreds of files in my Thunderbird account. First of all, I have seen them when I defrag my computer. There are 100s of files with the same name on them, and they were almost all the files somewhere in Thunderbird. This is the name listed as 'File Type' before its location in Thunderbird.

You may not be prescriptive to your research when dealing with malware. It changes almost daily. Just as often as the tools of detection updates to locate him. Where my essay a couple. New threats are often not well detected after the event for a week or more like once they are installed heuristic engines generally work as well. Although I have no idea why.

In any case, we can call this one closed.

  • Is there a virus that causes the "cannot find server" message for any website?

Having had no problem at all with firefox, after that my brother found himself on a "questionable" site that has closed the browser suddenly, any time I opened my browser to look at any page on my home pc I got the message 'server not found '. My laptop and phone are sailing very well without any problems. Thanks for your help.

Make a check of malware with a few programs to scan for malware.
You must use all of the programs, because each detect different malware.
Make sure you update each program to get the latest version before doing a scan.

  • I put Firefox on a computer of friends at his request, he believes that it's virus protection, don't have I have download the wrong thing, is there a virus protection of Mozilla that we are notaware of, thank you o

Hi, I'm not familiar with Mozilla or Firefox.
He said that it will replace a program such as Norton virus protection and tastes.
Question is, is Firefox anti-virus protection, firewall, anti-phishing and all, download us the wrong product, or does it download something to go with it and what?
We noticed that when we have sought the protections of virus on your site, we were transferred from your site to other sites.
    Please clarify this.
Sorry for the long question, but we don't know anything about your program.

    Thank you

    Don

Firefox has anti-phishing and protection of 'web attack', but it does not replace an antivirus program or a firewall.

  • is there a virus that masks or hides with chkdsk?

    Having probs with my PC
Don't restore, etc. At the whole cleaning thing. At first I couldn't find my chkdsk at all. Dug around in the registry... Well Yes, still here. BUT also found these puppies:

    (I've included the script case-sensitive)

    Name                                                  In Folder
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
    CHKDSK C:\WINDOWS\ I386

    CHKDSK. EXE - 0B42230E.pf C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch 13KO
    CHKDSK.EXE - 12KO C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch 1CB38688.pf
    CHKDSK.EXE - 2CC4C59D.pf C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch 15.1 KB

When I did a search on the web and MS I have nothing. Given the size of the files, I tend to believe that it can be viral. All intuitive thought would be appreciated. Moreover, this small number bypassed my Norton 360. Will try several diagnostics and see if I can get more information, but I'm not that tech savvy, so don't expect much.
    Thanks for the ear.
    Angela

    Hi Angela,.

You should be able to locate chkdsk under its listed as chkdsk.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32 (12 KB - properties will show you this file as 11.5 KB (11 776 bytes)). You can restore this file from the I386 folder and put it back in the C:\windows\system32 folder.

    I hope this helps.

  • Virus or hacking of my iMac

I think that virus or any other type of hack on my iMac took place that I had to cancel three illegal fees credit cards in the past

six months.  I downloaded a copy of the free version of Avast, ran to the analysis of the system, found two viruses reported (/Applications/Codec-M.app? Happy / Info.plist and Users/Jim/Library/Safari/Extensions/Codec-M.safariextz).  I deleted both of them, but during the scan, 60 cases were reported as "no scanable."  Were there any virus or other hacks that occur due to unscanable files? Are there additional fixes for this problem?   I got my iMac for more than 8 years, have always upgraded to the latest versions of software developed by Apple and have never had a problem until now.

It is not a virus or hack, you probably gave your information of credit card on site online for some dishonest.

Uninstall Avast, it's practically malware itself. He was called to bork multiple Mac systems.

It will also give us additional specifications on your Mac. After his execution after the logfile here. It will never contain any personal information.

  • Is - this apple virus real attention and official?

    Hello

In the past, I used to get these warnings of viruses, but I would ignore them since they looked much more informal, and since I had heard the warnings that require you to install MacKeeper are scam. However, this one popped up today and I was worried because it looks like the official site Apple and says that my system is seriously damaged. This warning is real and should install the MacKeeper or any other program for my Mac virus?

    Fake.

Do not install MacKeeper, it's a scam. They tell you there are viruses so you will have to pay for the program. Then the program says that it removed the virus (that were never there) in order to feel safe.

Close this window and avoid any website or you will get this message again. The scam is probably related to the Web site

  • Phone call from Microsoft system claiming suffered a virus attack.

    original title: friend or foe?

I just put the phone of a female with an Indian accent who says she is from Microsoft and called to tell me there are viruses in the back of my system that should remove because they cause problems with Microsoft Server? Or something along that line.  She was very convincing. Asked me to go to the event viewer, and there is a long list of errors and warnings. She said she'd help me eliminate those events brewed. I had concerning Web Site page asking me to download a software to "share the computer" when I realized that if I download this and they are not what they say there are, they could access my computer.  Big voice in my head told me not to download and I said female operator that I was not willing to do this because I don't know if she is who she says she is and contacted Microsoft myself. She said (do crosser per minute) she's trying to help me and if I do not eliminate the problem that it would remove Microsoft from my system immediately and which will remove all the icons and I would not be able to access Microsoft on my computer ever again. After repeating again once I will contact Microsoft myself so I know that I am speaking to a real fair operator repeated herself and his threats. I just hung up. I felt quite upset and confused. I'm not computer savi but know that there is no disadvantages. I hope that I stopped just in time before they could access anything whatsoever. Didn't upload the software, that they asked me. I'll be ok?  Would really appreciate a response. Thank you

Scam. You did well by hanging up and as long as you do not download anything whatsoever, everything should be good.
