Is upgrade Ram 12 GB possible in warranty?

Hello

I baught my laptop (HP Pavilion G6 2004tx) on August 16, 2012.

Configuration:

OS: Windows 7 HB.

CPU: i5 of 2nd generation.

RAM: 4 GB of DDR3 memory

GPU: 2 GB DDR3 - AMD Radeon HD M 7670

HARD drive: 500 GB

My questions are,

1. is it possible to update my RAM 12 GB (4 + 8)?

2. what must you do to install the new hardware (RAM)?

a. call for the care of the plant?  or

b. install myself if there is no problem with the warranty?

Thanks in advance,

Darshan.

Hello

Unfortunately, 12 GB is supported or recommended by HP. The motherboard of your laptop supports the following configurations. For more than 4 GB to be recognized and used, that a 64-bit operating sysytem is required.

Supports the following configurations up to 8 GB:
● 8192 MB total memory (4096 × 2) (no support for 32 bit OS)
● 6144 MB total memory (4096 × 1 + 2 048 × 1) (no support for 32 bit OS)
● 4096 MB total memory (4096 × 2 048 or 1 × 2)
Total system memory of ● 2048 MB (2 048 × 1).

Best regards

    Concerning
    Andrzej Hull

    Hello

I don t think you would lose the guarantee after upgrade memory.

The slot of memory must be placed at the bottom of the unit and it s fixed with one screw only.
You must remove the plastic cover to get access to the RAM slots.

I think that details and pictures about the upgrade of memory must be placed in the manual pre-installed you.

My user manual contains this statement to upgrade which is very useful.

So Don worry about you guarantee the validity. If you use the recommended Toshiba and modules compatible RAM then you guarantee will not be cancelled ;)

  • Tecra Z40 - A - the upgrade (RAM RAM)

    Hi all

Ordered little RAM to upgrade my Toshiba Tecra Z40 - A, but can not find, for the life of me, anything where you want to insert online.

I previously installed RAM under the keyboard (couple of clips holding it) and on the other, a small cover on the bottom, but the Z40 does not appear to be anywhere easily accessible.

Has anyone upgraded RAM on the Z40? Or is it a big no, no, because of the guarantee?

    Thank you
    Lance

Memory upgrade on this model Tecra is a bit complicated and, in my view, should not be done by the owner of the laptop. For some models of Ram upgrade can be done by the owner of the laptop and exact instructions how do proposed in document s user manuals, but not for your Tecra.

For full access to the RAM modules lower lid should be removed and it can be done by people of service only. If you do this alone you can void the warranty valid.
I recommend you contact the nearest Toshiba service provider in your country and ask for help or advice.

  • Portege 4000 - upgrade RAM & graphic card driver installation

I'm having some trouble with my Portege 4000 for the moment. I installed XP on a disk, but will no longer have that I have 256 MB of RAM...

-Have you tried 2 manufacturers but the PC133 512 is not compatible. However, my system has an IBM of PC100 256 chip, which was bought early last year, after much trial and error, and I wonder now if the motherboard will be more suited to the PC100 and PC133 non?

-Consider the options alternative to XP, 98SE or 2000 because they are lighter operating systems. I can put it on a spare drive (test). Is it possible to set up a partition for recovery CD Rom (which has 98SE) on this subject and have little space left over to install another Linux operating system or its Manager partition crushes everything?

-J' put another post for .exe drivers related to the display/vga for 98SE and 2000.

-Just for the record, not all Linux distributions seem to go back on the size of the screen, so it takes some work...

    Thanks much for any help.

    The protégé 4000 is compatible with the PC133 modules! AFAIK, you can upgrade RAM of this notebook 1 GB (1024 MB) and you can use these modules;
    PC133 512 MB (PA3108U - 1 M 51)
    PC133 256 MB (PA3086U - 1 M 25)
    PC133 128 MB (PA3085U - 1 M 12)

You can create partitions on the HARD drive using a 3rd party like Partition Magic 8 tool. I use this tool and it's really nice.
After you create 2 or three partitions on the HARD disk, you could install different OS (operating systems).

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR ANSWERS!

    Hello

You can upgrade your laptop up to 4 GB of RAM. The compatible RAM 2 GB module has PA3513U-1M2G part number. I heard that the problem in recognizing/3 GB should only be solved with SP1.

Upgrade of RAM do not negate the warranty valid. It is also described in the manuals page 123 s user document. Check it out.

Then I put 4 GB of Ram to 8 GB of Ram and it will be a significant increase in speed in the HP-22-3116. It is a new machine for me and I don't want to void the warranty?

    Yes.

You can upgrade the memory without voiding the warranty.

Take a look at the page Web guaranteed Crucial to the following URL for the compatible memory modules.

Replace the memory sticks. Do not use a new unique module in combination with the module currently installed, if you want it to run as expected.

  • Question about upgrading Ram on a Satellite A200

    Hi friends,

I have a Satellite A200-13O with 120 GB HDD, 1.8 GHz Intel Centrino Duo, 1 GB of ram, but there 2 512 chips installed.

If I upgrad 2 1 GB ram is it possible to improve performance...?

and what happens if I switch to 2 GB dual channel...?

    It has Windows Vista Ultimate...!

    Thank you
    Nagal

Do you mean that you would use a single module of ram of 1 GB?

Well, you would still have 1 GB of RAM, but the dual channel cannot be used due to lack of second module.
So, if you can, try to use exactly the same 2 modules for best performance of the memory.

The laptop supports two memory locations so you can't do anything wrong insert 2 modules in slots 2 to run dual channel modules

    Welcome them

  • Re: upgrade Ram on Satellite Pro C650

    Hi all

    I bought a new Satellite Pro c650
    psc09a-01w021

It has 2 GB of ram (ddr3 1066)

If I had to update my ram me, if it will void my warranty?

Also... Toshiba site says it is expandable to 8 GB. If I install a 4 GB (to go with my current 2 GB) that would be nice?

    Thanks in advance

Upgrade of RAM would not affect the warranty, although you would be upgrading the RAM yourself.

    Hello

I do not work for HP, I think that the degree of disassembly required to access the memory Module might well viod your warranty.

The procedure is described starting on Page 41 of your & Maintenance Guide.

  • HP all-in - One PC 19-2113w 19: white/black screen after upgrading RAM

    Hello

So I have upgraded RAM using 2 x 4 GB SODIMM DDR3 Corsair 1600 Mhz, after installing the PC boots but screen is white/black

    steps to follow:

    1. I tried with 1 socket by using only a RAM, screen black

    2. I tried with 2 socket using RAM only one with the same RAM step 1, screen black

    3. I tried step 1 and 2 using the other RAM, screen black

    now here it gets interesting

4 tried 1 socket using Original/factory RAM, screen black

5 tried 2 socket using Original/factory RAM, screen black

    6. tried without any RAM at all, looks like a lack of RAM, screen black

Now, to each measure adopted, I must say that the screen sound not only not showing things, but its totally black as it does at all, until the system starts normally. !

Is it Possible the upgrade of RAM affect the screen? or maybe when I was replacing the RAM I hit some conecting by cable to screen or something?

  • Upgrading RAM on Satellite P70-A104

    Hello

I just bought a laptop P70-A104 and I wonder if I can upgrade the RAM. Currently my laptop is having 8 GB of RAM, and I wonder if it is possible to upgrade to 16 GB and also if I am covered by insurance of portable.

Can you give me suggestions on how to do it and that the RAM is the ideal place to buy?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Specification for your laptop, I found here. As you can see RAM upgrade is possible, but you have access to two ports of RAM only, and you can use 2 x 8 GB of RAM.

I wasn't able to find the list with compatible Rams but for an another P70 compatible 8 GB of RAM a reference PA5104U-1M8G or Kingston part number KTT-S3CL / 8G so I think you can use it to upgrade RAM.

    Check it out.

It is the 15-n233sl model and the plug you have 6 GB. See page 42 of the manual here:

    Repair manuals

The manual indicates that it takes up to 12 GB which is a 4 GB and 8 GB module to the module but regularly, users have reported success with 2 x 8 GB for a total of 16 concerts. For most of the users 8 GB is a lot and it would mean just remove the module from 2 gig you have now and its replacement by a 4 GB. What that you choose to do I would have 2 modules size even for enable support dual channel. 8 concerts running dual channel is likely to be just as good as 12 concerts running in single channel due to incompatible modules. I have the HP laptop 122ne-15R (i7-4510U, 4 GB DDR3 1600 MHz RAM, 500 GB of HDD, OS 64 - bit Windows 8.1). I want to add an another slot with 8 GB of RAM and make the total of 12 GB of ram in my notebook. My questions are:

    Hello @Biren_,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I read your message and understand that you want to upgrade the RAM in your laptop HP - 15-r122ne. I have studied the issue and have developed a possible resolution in the maintenance and service guide.

Maintenance and Service Guide (See page 2)

"1 or 2 customer accessible/upgradable module memory (depending on model) locations.

"Supports up to 16 GB of RAM in the following configurations"

Here is a document which will answer your questions regarding the upgrade of RAM
