Issue of boot camp

If I install Bootcamp on my iMac will I still have my mac files it can change between iOS and windows?

And can I install boot camp on an HDA disk extern?

Bootcamp take a portion defined by you to your hard drive in my case, I had a 2 to hd and divided into 1 TB for windows and 1 TB for osx

When I press option or with my windows left the keyboard down Alt key when it starts up I get a list where I can choose if I want to start osx and windows

Windows we see the mac part of your hard drive read-only and even OSX with the part of windows

Windows itself is not officially supported running on an external hard drive so I would say no, but people usually find ways and I don't know if windows see love at first sight connected external drive as it would a usb connected.

  • Boot Camp or Parallels 11

    Hello

I just bought a new Mac Book Pro 13 "Retina Display. I intend to use Windows 10 on my mac book as well. For the most part, I'll use windows for commercial purposes like MS Office, email, photoshop, navigation and sometimes I could use it for the basic games.

I'm stuck between Bootcamp and parallels. Parallels seems more user-friendly, attributes of parallels seems as easy as switching between two systems also things I want to do it on Windows could not push the memory and device allows to execute in good performance. However I still have concerns about the Parallels because of performance issues I've read so far. Since its running the two systems at the same time, it could reduce the performance of the laptop. I would get the best performance and the face with minimal breakdowns of the system that I use.

Also, I read a lot of articles that says that boot camp is best in performance wise but I couldn't make the decision for my case and my features. I need suggestions from other users who are more experienced with Mac in order to make a decision between them.

    Plug from my laptop.

    -3.1 GHz Intel Core i7

    -GB 16, 1867 MHz DDR3

    -512 GB of Flash storage

    Thank you

Perhaps you are not aware of this, but OS X comes with e-mail software. MS Office is available for OS X, just like most of the products like Photoshop Adobe. OS X also comes with its own browser. My question is why you must use Windows to run programs that you run on OS X without using Windows?

Although Boot Camp is slightly faster with Windows and Parallels, but unless the speed is essential Parallels is much easier to use provided that you have sufficient memory to run two operating systems simultaneously.

  • El Capitan and Windows 10 Boot Camp Assistant

Hi, this is my first post so apologies if I've left out anything important. Let me know and I'll add the necessary details.

Fast, I have been using Windows for years and I wanted to get into Apple and finally last month made the leap. I have a brand new MacBook Pro with 16 GB of RAM El Capitan - 10.11.4 running. However, I am having a lot of problems with the creation and installation of 10 Windows using Boot Camp.

I had this work with Windows 10 times but made some fundamental mistakes. I resized the partition windows using a windows product so that I could add another partition. This seemed to work and I used it for a short time BUT when I tried to boot into El Capitan would not and that it would only boot Windows. After reading on what I see now that resize the windows from windows under Boot Camp partition is a no-no. lesson learned!

To actually do things once again, I removed the windows partitions using disk utility. (Again I see now that it is an another no-no that I'd
used Boot Camp Assistant to remove Windows!) Eventually however, I managed to get to El Capitan, working on the single partition, it is now again works fine and as far as I can tell without any problem.

After having to go that if I went back to load 10 Windows using Boot Camp. All works until the final start in the section windows it:

    • Creates the separate windows partition
    • Load the ISO file
    • The Windows Support Tools downloads
    • Runs the ISO file and everything looks good... see below: (apologies for the poor quality of the screenshots)

Then, during 'Finish Up', I get an error window:

"Windows has no prepare the computer to start the next phase of the installation." To install Windows restart installation. »

I tried many things such as to download the Windows ISO file again, running SNC and LANDAU after removing the Windows partition using Boot Camp Assistant and ensure that all other connections to the MBP is deleted except WiFi and get always the same message. As the whole process takes a few hours and tried to work through this for some days now, I would really appreciate some advice/help here for this issue very frustrating sorted.

    Thanks in advance

    Ian

OSX backup via TM boot in the recovery of the Internet, erase your entire internal drive, restore the TM backup, run SMC/NVRAM reset and try to re - install W10.

Your problem with remainders of W10 floating outside the Bootcamp partition, which cannot be properly cleaned when THE is used to delete a partition.

  • Boot Camp will not install on Windows 10 (end of 2015 imac)

Bought an imac 27 "5K retina, end of 2015

1 TB - (not the Fusion drive)

    OS X El Capitan

All applications are updated on both OSX

Version of Windows 10 Education loaded 64 bit ISO file (3 times 2 of 1 Flash of office)

After loading Windows 10 - installation of Boot Camp program starts - but after a few minutes, I get a little window with a red X

The installation stops (I tried the OK TWO hit and hit X to close small, then the windows in the "Installation")

But no Boot Camp file is installed (worked with Apple Care - but they don't have any other suggestions.)

How can I get the Boot Camp assistant on the Windows partition? I can't find Boot Camp 6 downloads anywhere.

I don't have files from Boot Camp on side Windows to run (or disk Flash Drive)

Windows runs and work THOUGH - I have questions - no sound, the mouse does not scroll, have not spent a lot of time to discover other issues.

Another thing to NOTE - on the side of OS x with Boot Camp Assistant - I don't get always the choice to select tasks - that is not available - my boot camp assistant didn't need to start from a flashdrive (external drive) it will be the start of a download of office. I thought to use Boot Camp Assistant to load the ISO on the flash drive - but I do not get this option (select tasks).

Any help is appreciated - is there an external way to download Boot Camp 6?

    1. What is your Windows language setting?

    2. you can get the drivers BC6 W10 from Apple.

  • Boot camp unrecognized cross-platform records

So here's a little history, I had an installation work of Yosemite and Win 7 ultimate running on my MacPro 3.1 beginning 2008, saw disks cross-platform with the standard read write limits, data was all mixed-platform so I decided to backup my stuff at the same time, wipe and do a clean install, I only have a disc of snow leopard OSX so I wiped and did a clean install with one of there , I noticed there was a worm even newer to avalible OSX install El Capitan then I updated level and attempted to do a training camp, although bootcamp and apples website says that my machine would support 7 when you enter the disk, he said I could do only a win 8 64-bit installation, I did not no more nor want to. It's jogging my memory that I had to modify the plist for the first time I did this, so I started to do some reading and what appeared to be the fastest workaround has been download a copy of bootcamp 4, because the new version does not support mixed installation of the iso (32 & 64 bit ver on one disc) did the installation went well spent ran boot camp software Player was not grateful so I tried to connect to the internet and there was a problem any appeared adapters but I just couldn't join the network and other issues at random so I started back in OSX deleted the partition and booted, this time networking the problem has been resolved but hard disk recognition was still a question , from windows I can openboot camp software and select this option to start card, but can not see the player mac, Mac I see windows on the desktop player but does not not in the utility disc or bootcamp and a target boot disk.

Sorry for the long background but I seem not to be the only person having this problem perhaps this may help understand why its happening and lead to a better solution, aka prevent it

Here is the info that you seem to need to read the other discussions on this topic

I read the solution for the subjects to which I'm fairly certain that I'm having the same problem with and I am confident in preforming the required steps, like to confirm that, that is the question and what numbers should I use in my case for steps 7 and 8 and help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Please after the release of

    sudo fdisk/dev/disk0

    sudo dd if = / dev/rdisk0s4 account = 1 2 >/dev/null | hexdump - C

  • Yet another partition Boot Camp damaged

I've initially was trying to shrink my partition Mac utility disc (in El Capitan) and then planned on using Win7 to extend the Windows partition. From what I can tell and have read here, the empty space was not left not allocated, but was created as a fifth partition that messed up the MBR and unable to start Windows.

I followed with the fix of Eversclever similar problem earlier today, but I can't get the MacBook boot recovery with ⌘R at startup. I just download El Capitan once again to make a bootable USB installation to enter the terminal and remove protection SIP in the morning. I wanted the details of my system because I'm a little concerned just making it worse until it will be unrecoverable. As it is now, I always have access to the files from the Boot Camp partition in the Finder in El Capitan. It will support during the night.

Thank you in advance for lonely T and anyone who spends their time to help out us. I really wish that disk utility would not allow editing of the partition because it seems to be in difficulty. Of course there is always risk when playing with partitions, but what is the "safest" way to do it without backup and start over?

If you are comfortable fixing the MBR issue, convert the partition without title to space and use GParted to merge windows and free space and run the Startup Repair tool, then Yes, it is possible to extend Windows using these tools.

You can also use tools like Winclone or Camptune for resize/backup/restore Windows.

Model Mac after end of 2013 supports Windows EFI, which removes the limits of use and to manipulate the MBR that allows resizing much more easily.

  • Recover Windows System Image in Boot Camp 10

    Hi all

I have problems with Windows on my iMac.

So I installed Win10 using the Boot Camp Assistant, partitioning 300 GB for it. After awhile, I realized I want to segment much more, so I tried looking for a way to extend this partition to 500 GB - I have tried it with a 3rd party app and didn't. I then created a Windows System Image, restored the fuser unit to a single OS X partition and reinstalled Windows with BCA - by then I had decided to partition 1 TB for each operating system. I installed with no problems and tried to recover Windows from the Image of the above system. But instead he apparently formatted my entire SDS, including the OS X partition, that the iMac will not start and more.

[I have a backup Time Machine and everything, I also know I have to reinstall OS X and then restore from that backup.]

The question is how to do what I tried bypassing Windows format the whole * thing. If this is not possible at all to recover from the image, I'll be forced to 'start from scratch' and I'd really rather not, 3rd party applications are welcome at this stage. Also, can I recover the files from the Image of the system?

    Thank you for your time,

    Bruncky

PS. : Given that the Apple employee didn't know immediately what I was talking about: in Windows, a System Image is a 1:1 copy of my Windows partition around, as opposed to a backup that saves only files apps and not content generated by the app.

PS2. : If I reinstall OS X from Recovery Mode, do I make specific configurations about the merger by car?

    BrunoBrunck wrote:

This issue arises from a bad assumption made during the restorations by the process of restoration of Windows. It assumes that the restoration is made on the dedicated disk that has nothing else. Winclone is the best solution on Mac instead of Windows System Image backups. I have some time with a few users and I have tried with different levels of success. Please see Bootcamp not recognized after the restoration of Windows from image system for example.

    Try of Winclone.

There may be some confusion between the Image of the system and the history of the files. Time Machine has no concept of an Image of the system, so it is also the terminology 'exotic '.

PS2. : If I reinstall OS X from Recovery Mode, do I make specific configurations about the merger by car?

No, unless you have built a custom Fusion car. If you have a Bootcamp partition on the drive of Fusion, you want to ensure that you're not crushing BC/Windows, unless a wipe/restoration is your goal.

  • Unable to get drivers 64-bit for Windows 10 through Boot Camp

I installed 10 windows in my Macbook Air 11 inches early 2015 (4 GB ram, processor i5 1.6 hz, 128 GB ssd) via boot camp, installation went well but I see questions wih the screen brightness and volume. • Used to install Boot Camp 6

Hello! Because Setup installation of Boot Camp 6 would hang on to Realtek Audio, I thought that my problem could be solved by this: Re: boot camp installation hangs at realtek audio stepSearch or ask a question. I followed the answer to Apple-recommended, but then the configuration would result in this:

Note that notification of weird error with no words. After I pressed the OK button, this will be shown:

It is said that Boot Camp has been installed successfully. But even after reboot, it seems that I have no Boot Camp in my Program Files folder. I tried to redo the installation process, and I continue to meet on this issue.

For this reason, I begin to doubt my understanding of the answer to Apple-recommended. Please check these specific steps that I do to fix the Realtek Audio:

    1. start the installation of Boot Camp - everything seems normal until he begins installation of Realtek Audio and crashes it.

    2. run installation of Realtek Audio (file called RealtekSetup) - when he asks if I want to restart my computer now, no, I chose "restart my PC later" then I press 'Finish' to close RealtekSetup.

3 open the Task Manager to close the Boot Camp installer - after manual installation of Realtek Audio, installation of Boot Camp is still stuck so I close with the Manager tasks.

4 restart the Boot Camp Installer.

Later, I meet the weird error shown in the photos above. I did steps 1 and 2 except that I closed RealtekSetup by using the Task Manager (where RealtekSetup was called Setup.exe (32 bit)) but Boot Camp, the installer is still blocked eventually. Right now, I don't know what to do so I need to post my situation here. I hope you guys can help me. Thank you!

  • The file system on which "/ Users/SterlingButters/Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/Virtual Machines/Boot Camp/Boot Camp.vmwarevm' lies is very low on free space."

I get the following error message when I try to start my VM and I don't know why, I have repaired permissions and I have about 50 GB of spare on the partition. It was great to work for a long time and the only thing I can think of, that I have done before, was until I started getting the error message I mounted the BootCamp partition and moved the files into it, then dismantled. I looked towards the top of the topic online and don't have much, (I usually are not) then I came to the experts for help. So, really, I just need to be able to start up in my VM without the error message, THANKS!

This error has nothing to do with Boot camp as far as I know. Your mac partition is running out of free space. To resolve this issue, you must first remove file from Mac partition.

For starters, I wud you suggest to empty the trash., remove files from the downloads folder. delete the old files, movies, music, photos etc... choice is up to you.

Please launch disk utility (/ applications/utilities) and check the free space of Mac HD.
